Bayern Munich taught Bayer Leverkusen a lesson in compact, beautiful one-touch football by slotting five goals past them in the first half. Robert Lewandowski got the party started early on in the first half after Bayer Leverkusen's back-line left Dayot Upamecano open to set up Bayern's #9. Bayern had to defend quite a bit afterward as Leverkusen went searching for an equalizer. However, Bayern's back-line would not be breached and remained compact, dealing with the likes of Florian Wirtz, Patrick Schick and Moussa Diaby easily. There were many star performers in the first half for Bayern but Joshua Kimmich, for the first time in a while, had a fantastic game. He has been solid this season but today showed what Kimmich, a ball-playing, holding midfielder, can do at full strength. Alphonso Davies started and did incredibly well; Leverkusen could not deal with him. Bayern's goals came courtesy of Robert Lewandowski (2), Thomas Müller and Serge Gnabry (2). Bayern Munich shook off the crazy news that broke earlier in the day put another beatdown on another Bundesliga opponent. This time, it was SpVgg Greuther Fürth. Bayern Munich put forth a strong offensive effort and was never really seriously challenged defensively. In what has been a season full of dominant efforts, Julian Nagelsmann's boys once again took care of business. Here is a quick synopsis of what we cover on the podcast:  A little bit different look for the starting lineup as the posted formation sure didn't look like what we saw on the pitch. That unfortunate red card for Benjamin Pavard. The courage of SpVgg Greuther Fürth The continued excellence of Thomas Müller and Joshua Kimmich (even if he does need a rest). Bayern Munich travels to Greuther Fürth in a Bavarian derby this weekend. Fürth is at the bottom of the table with only one point to their name, having been thrashed by VfB Stuttgart on opening weekend. They lost to Hertha Berlin last weekend after having gone up a goal courtesy of a Branimir Hrgota penalty. In this podcast, we take a look at some changes Julian Nagelsmann might make ahead of Bayern's game against Dynamo Kiev in the Champions League in midweek; we also look at Greuther Fürth's struggles and how we think this game will go. We wonder if Marcel Sabitzer might get a start and if Joshua Kimmich (gasp) might get a rest! As always, thanks for your support and let us know what you think! Bayern Munich scored seven goals on a gorgeous day in Munich (finally, a home game!), showcasing their talents out there and just having fun! The score at half time was 4-0 thanks to goals from Leroy Sané, Joshua Kimmich, Serge Gnabry and an own goal. The score-line gave Julian Nagelsmann the chance to rest Alphonso Davies and bring on Richards for his debut. Bayern added a fifth from Robert Lewandowski, a sixth from Joshua Kimmich and a seventh from Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting; Choupo's goal was his 50th goal of his Bundesliga career, a milestone. Marcel Sabitzer and Bouna Sarr also got minutes on the pitch; Sabitzer hopefully might get a start against Greuther Fürth but, perhaps, Nagelsmann didn't feel he was ready yet. Thomas Müller seemed to have scored an eighth; unfortunately, the goal wouldn't stand because of VAR. A Müller goal would have been perfect to wrap up the day but it wasn't to be today. Corona hin – Geld her. Was bringt euch beiden einen Mehrwert? Also versuche ständig, deine Alternativen zu optimieren. Nebenberufliche Tätigkeiten kannst Du meistens einfach beginnen.

Another week is in the books for Bayern Munich and what a week it was.  It seems as if it is only a matter of time before the team officially extends the contract of Joshua Kimmich, but the club's rumored pursuit of Marcel Sabitzer could have hit a roadblock.  Regardless, here are the topics we have on tap:  The mayhem in the midfield with potential contract extensions for Kimmich and Leon Goretzka, the pursuit of Sabitzer, and possible sale of Corentin Tolisso. The curious case of Leroy Sane and why this year is so important for both the Sane and Hasan “Brazzo” Salihamidzic — despite the former Manchester City man not wanting to be judged by his goals or assists.  The uncertain season ahead of Julian Nagelsmann — especially after declaring his roster was a bit thin.  As always, thank you for the support! The fellas then transition into a group chat debate that needed to be brought into the light, that being Fred and why Eames believes he is a “World Class” midfielder and why Colin disagrees. The guys then move on to discuss Aaron Wan Bissaka with another brilliant performance against one of the worlds best wingers this time coming in the form of Raheem Sterling who caused Wan Bissaka no problems at all. Colin and Snacks argue as to who the better right back is in world football arguing between Wan Bissaka as well as Bayern Munich’s Joshua Kimmich. Bayern Munich returned from a brief winter break in just about the same form with which they entered into it. After going down two goals to Mainz 05 in the first half of Sunday's game, the Bavarians managed to pull off a 5-2 win in large part to an inspired performance from Joshua Kimmich. The 25-year-old, who just returned from injury, spent the first half playing in his preferred midfield position. However, it wasn't until Hansi Flick moved him to right-back in the second half that Kimmich began to shine. With this, and the woeful displays from Benjamin Pavard and Bouna Sarr this season, in mind, the question must be asked: should Hansi Flick continue to play Kimmich at right-back? There's discussions on everyone from Leo Messi to Joshua Kimmich and beyond. In this week's 'Things We Loved' Sam pens a love letter to friend of the pod João Félix, who is really coming into his own for Atleti this season; Dean waxes lyrical about Brendan Rodgers' Leicester City and their thumping of Leeds United; and Jack explains why everyone should really be watching Real Sociedad, who currently sit top of La Liga and have won four on the bounce in some style. Obviously there's a Melon of the Week, which comes straight off the back of a Basque nightmare, and Sam's Gibberish sees him ranking the worst things about his new-found hobby - Golf. It's Ranks!
