Good news for Lakers fans this Labor Day Weekend as Luka Doncic continues to dominate (even if Slovenia isn't) in Euro basketball. Tune in as the guys from the LFB share thoughts on his dominance so far, and if this is a sign of an MVP year to come. But with Luka's great play, the continued question arises as to whether the Lakers have built a team that's as capable as he is in winning basketball games in a tough Western Conference. The guys discuss that, and after today's signing of Giannis' brother in Milwaukee, it's a sign that he's not going anywhere anytime soon. All this, and we decide who is better: Thanasis or Bronny? LeBron's son or the brother of Giannis? The hosts wrap up the Summer Cooler series focusing on the Pacific Division where the Edmonton Oilers have represented the Western Conference in the past two Stanley Cup Finals though the division sent only three teams to the playoffs in 2025.IN THIS EPISODE[01:44] - Edmonton Oilers - The most compelling question for the upcoming campaign is whether enough has been done to keep impending UFA Connor McDavid in the fold beyond this season. And, if so, for how long?[11:41] - Vegas Golden Knights - The biggest off-season move was authored by the VGK in acquiring Mitch Marner from the Maple Leafs. The franchise consistently operates in the "now and we'll worry about the future when we get there."[19:37] - Los Angeles Kings - After finally having everything in their favor in the opening round, the Kings still managed to fall for a fourth straight spring to the Oilers. Can a bunch of older free agents move this team forward in 2026?[28:47] - Calgary Flames - One of the real surprises in 2024-25 re-signed many of their own players as opposed to adding any free agents. Not much room for error with an offensively challenged team that won't be sneaking up on anyone in the new season.[36:29]- Vancouver Canucks - If there's an opposite to the Flames, it the Canucks who entered 2024-25 with high expectations only to go through a tumultuous season. Rookie head coach Adam Foote takes over a team with a much lower bar heading into the new campaign.[44:14] - Anaheim Ducks - A team many are looking at to take a big step forward, the Ducks do so with the second winningest coach in NHL history, returning to the best for the first time in almost four years.[52:37] - Seattle Kraken - In the spirit of Pacific Division continuity, there's the 2024-25 overachiever, the underachiever, the up-and-comer and the status quo. The fifth year Kraken somewhat fit into that category, even with a new head coach.[1:02:01] - San Jose Sharks - Yes, reason for optimism in the Bay Area. While pushing the Western bubble would still be a long shot, their youth down the middle is set to become the cornerstone of the franchise for the next decade.X: https://twitter.com/NHLWraparoundNeil Smith: https://twitter.com/NYCNeilVic Morren: https://www.linkedin.com/in/vic-morren-7038737/NHL Wraparound Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/nhlwraparound/#NHLWraparound #ShortShifts #NYCentric #StanleyCupdate #NeilSmith #VicMorren #NHL #SummerCoolers #Loogaroo #AnaheimDucks # #BostonBruins #BuffaloSabres #CalgaryFlames #CarolinaHurricanes #ChicagoBlackhawks #ColoradoAvalanche #ColumbusBlueJackets #DallasStars #DetroitRedWings #EdmontonOilers #FloridaPanthers #LosAngelesKings #MinnesotaWild #MontrealCanadiens #NashvillePredators #NewJerseyDevils #NewYorkIslanders #NewYorkRangers #OttawaSenators #PhiladelphiaFlyers #PittsburghPenguins #StLouisBlues #SanJoseSharks #SeattleKraken #TampaBayLightning #TorontoMapleLeafs #UtahMammoth #VancouverCanucks #VegasGoldenKnights #WashingtonCapitals #WinnipegJets #ConnorMcDavid #LeonDraisaitl #StanBowman #EvanderKane #ViktorArvidsson #CoreyPerry #ConnorBrown #JohnKlingberg #JeffSkinner #TrentFrederic #KasperiKapanen #EvanBouchard #AndrewMangiapane #CurtisLazar #IsaacHoward #RileyStillman #ZachHyman #VasilyPodkolzin #RyanNugent-Hopkins #MatthewSavoie #MattiasJanmark #AdamHenrique #MattiasEkholm #DarnellNurse #BrettKulak #JakeWalman #TyEmberson #StuartSkinner #CalvinPickard #MitchMarner #NickRoy #MarkStone #TomasHertl #WilliamKarlsson #ReillySmith #BrandonSaad #JeremyLauzon #ColtonSissons #NicolasHague #JaycobMegna #TannerPearson #VictorOlofsson #AlexPietrangelo #SheaTheodore #BraydenMcNabb #NoahHanafin #ZachWhitecloud #BruceCassidy #KaedanKorczak #BrettHowden #KeeganKolesar #PavelDorofeyev #JackEichel #IvanBarbashev #AdinHill #AkiraSchmid #SergeiBobrovsky #KenHolland #JoelArmia #CodiCeci #BrianDumoulin #RobBlake...

A podcast, only 3 months after our last one. We talk a bit briefly about a few matches from the past three months, including wins, yes WINS over Seattle, the Leagues Cup, um, debacle, and Open Cup. Then afterwards we dive into the ins/outs of the Transfer Window, noting that this was a particularly great window for the Loons, even though they left it late. After that we briefly break down the run-ins for the Top 3 in the Western Conference, which, spoiler alert, includes the Loons Finally, brief recaps of our beloved lower division teams, MPLS City SC and Aurora FC.
In this episode of Make City Make Spence, Sean, Garret, and Adam break down Detroit City FC's last two matches and spotlight the team's recent surge in form. They also preview some crucial upcoming clashes against Western Conference opponents as the men's squad fights for a playoff spot in the East.In the second half, the trio unpacks the Northern Guard Supporters' recently released statement addressing the dismissal of two club legends, the club's communication approach, and the team's inconsistent performances this season. Finally, they ask the big question: is the club doing enough to share its own story?
The Western Conference gets the stage starting with the Central Division in the third of four Summer Cooler shows.IN THIS EPISODE[02:31] - Winnipeg Jets - The defending Presidents' Trophy winners fell short in the second round of the playoffs. They face a new world with the departure of star wing Nikolaj Ehlers to Carolina.[14:56] - Dallas Stars - Always positioning themselves for a deep run, something always seems to happen in "Big D" when the stakes raise in the playoffs. A coach getting a second chance in Dallas has the opportunity to reverse that trend.[25:55] - Colorado Avalanche - Since winning the Stanley Cup in 2022, the Avs have won a single playoff series since. Is this high-octane team getting a reputation of being more sizzle than steak?[34:52] - Minnesota Wild - Though finally getting out from under massive dead cap space, the Wild haven't exactly wowed anyone during the off-season.[43:24] - St. Louis Blues - No team made more of an about-face in 2024-25. Despite a heartbreaking opening round loss to Winnipeg, all indications point to a team that will be very stiff to play against in the new season.[53:58] - Utah Mammoth - With a season under their belt in Salt Lake City, the time has come for the newly-named Utah Mammoth to make some inroads after five consecutive playoffs misses going back to their days in Arizona.[1:05:20] - Nashville Predators - The team with the big free agent splash a year ago was the biggest disappointment of 2024-25. The summer of '25 has been quiet. Has GM Barry Trotz simply written off last season as a bad year to the point he's willing to go with much the same lineup starting in October? [1:13:05] - Chicago Blackhawks - Long-suffering fans in the Windy City will have a new head coach behind the bench. Still, Connor Bedard and co. appear to have more lean years ahead.X: https://twitter.com/NHLWraparoundNeil Smith: https://twitter.com/NYCNeilVic Morren: https://www.linkedin.com/in/vic-morren-7038737/NHL Wraparound Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/nhlwraparound/#NHLWraparound #ShortShifts #NYCentric #StanleyCupdate #NeilSmith #VicMorren #NHL #SummerCoolers #Loogaroo #AnaheimDucks # #BostonBruins #BuffaloSabres #CalgaryFlames #CarolinaHurricanes #ChicagoBlackhawks #ColoradoAvalanche #ColumbusBlueJackets #DallasStars #DetroitRedWings #EdmontonOilers #FloridaPanthers #LosAngelesKings #MinnesotaWild #MontrealCanadiens #NashvillePredators #NewJerseyDevils #NewYorkIslanders #NewYorkRangers #OttawaSenators #PhiladelphiaFlyers #PittsburghPenguins #StLouisBlues #SanJoseSharks #SeattleKraken #TampaBayLightning #TorontoMapleLeafs #UtahMammoth #VancouverCanucks #VegasGoldenKnights #WashingtonCapitals #WinnipegJets #NikolajEhlers #ColePerfetti #AdamLowry #ConnorHellebuyck #JonathanToews #GabrielLandeskog #MasonAppleton #BrandonTanev #DominicToninato #GustavNyquist #ColeKoepke #TannerPearson #PhilDiGiuseppe #WalkerDuehr #HadynFleury #MorganBarron #GabeVilardi #DylanSamberg #KevinCheveldayoff #MarkScheifele #KyleConnor #VladislavNamestnikov #JoshMorrissey #DylanDemelo #NealPionk #LukeSchenn #ScottArniel #GlenGulutzan #PeterDeBoer #JakeOettinger #JimNill #JamieBenn #TylerSeguin #MattDuchene #ColinBlackwell #NilsLundkvist #MavrikBourque #RadekFaksa #NathanBastain #MasonMarchment #MikaelGranlund #CodiCeci #EvgeniiDadonov #MattDumba #RoopeHintz #WyattJohnston #JasonRobertson #MikkoRantanen #SamSteele #OskarBack #MiroHeiskanen #EsaLindell #ThomasHarley #IlyaLyubushkin #LianBichsel #CaseyDeSmith #JaredBednar #NathanMacKinnon #CaleMakar #BrentBurns #VictorOlofsson #GavinBrindley #CharlieCoyle #MilesWood #BrockNelson #ParkerKelly #JoshManson #JoelKiviranta #JonathanDrouin #RyanLindgren #JimmyVesey #IvanIvan #DevonToews #SamGirard #SamMalinski #MackenzieBlackwood #ScottWedgewood #ValNichushkin #JackDrury #RossColton #MartinNecas #ArtturiLehkonen #Marc-AndreFleury #FrederickGaudreau #JustinBrazeau...

Sporting KC unfortunately extended their winless streak to 4 games on Saturday night losing to the visiting Western Conference leaders San Diego FC 2-0. While the result seemed somewhat predictable to the proprietors of this podcast and many of its listeners, the performance that led to it was not. Sporting KC largely limited San Diego's attack, and created a flurry of chances of their own, and probably deserved more from the final score line than they received. That said, Sporting has been on the fortuitous end of several results this season, so it was only natural for that luck to turn away from them at some point, and San Diego's Designated Players both capitalized on some SKC errors with a level of lethality that SKC were unable to replicate themselves. This did lead to a bit of a dour mood on the H&A discord in the hours following the match regarding how far behind the club is from the top of the league at this point, creating the 2nd discussion in as many days about how realistic it is to have optimism and hope for the future of this team. We'll dive into what is next for this club and why at least I am a bit bullish on its potential in the future. Finally we will discuss the Current continuing to find a way to get results, Tim Ford vs. Vancouver, and preview SKC's upcoming trip the home of Mickey Mouse.
Andrew and Adam continue with this year's Expansion Draft and create protection lists for the Western Conference teams. Enjoy

Nate and Danny hand out offseason grades for all 15 Western Conference teams, analyzing each front office's approach in free agency, trades, and the draft. They highlight Dallas' aggressive moves to build around Cooper Flagg, Denver's big move for Cam Johnson, and Golden State's crossroads as they navigate their aging core. The Rockets' eventful offseason, the Clippers' reshuffling around James Harden, and the Lakers' attempts to refocus around Luka Doncic get close inspection. The second half covers controversial trades like Memphis moving Desmond Bane, Minnesota's financial risk on Naz Reid, and the Pelicans' lack of direction. They finish with OKC's conservative approach post-Finals run, Phoenix's pivot without Durant, and promising youth-focused moves by San Antonio and Utah.Timestamps by team:Dallas Mavericks: 00:00:21Denver Nuggets: 00:18:03Golden State Warriors: 00:30:27Houston Rockets: 00:42:22LA Clippers: 00:49:19LA Lakers: 00:58:38Memphis Grizzlies: 01:10:19Minnesota Timberwolves: 01:23:39New Orleans Pelicans: 01:33:31Oklahoma City Thunder: 01:41:45Phoenix Suns: 01:46:41Portland Trail Blazers: 01:55:13Sacramento Kings: 02:02:05San Antonio Spurs: 02:07:34Utah Jazz: 02:13:15 Join Dunc'd On Prime! It's Friday afternoon, which means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio is ready to massage your eardrums with an hour of off-season Oilers talk. On today's podcast, the fellas discussed Western Conference contenders, goaltending, the Jays' run, and much more.We kicked off the Friday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about which new Oiler the fellas are most excited to watch during the 2025-26 season. From Andrew Mangiapane signing as a free agent to Matt Savoie and Isaac Howard being two blue-chip prospects with plenty of upside, the guys were bullish on some of the new guys being able to contribute in a meaningful way. Of course, we are in the middle of Kool-Aid szn, so expecting anything less from the crew would be unwise at this stage of the summer.Changing gears, we looked at some of the extension rumours that came out last week. Bob Stauffer hinted on his show that there could be a run of contract extensions happening before the end of the month, and that hope for news had the fanbase buzzing. Sticking with contract extensions, we then looked at a report from Frank Seravalli where he guesses what Connor McDavid's extension will look like for value and term. Finally, we wrapped up the Friday episode of ONR with another round of Ask the Idiots, betting talk for our friends at bet365, and Hot and Cold Performers to look back on the week. With just over two months left until the start of the 2025-26 season, the guys spent the bulk of the Friday episode talking about an array of topics that were Oilers-related or not at all, but that's what happens in August. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
