This is a new view for A.J. and a repeat for Aleigh. We watch "Ready or Not," a 2019 thriller starring Samara Weaving, not Margot Robbie. It's a fun little romp where a rich family tries to kill their newest member in a game of hide and seek. So cute. We pair it with a lovely 2021 Zinfandel appropriately called Hunted.Metacritic Score: 64/100Movie Sync Notes: We watch "Ready or Not" on Amazon Prime. It's so creepy and is exactly like the kinds of movies we grew up with.  We honestly had no idea so many well known actors lent their voices to this project. We pair it with Melodramatic Macabre, a rich red blend that we thoroughly enjoyed.Metacritic Score: 80/100Movie Sync Notes: We watch "Coraline" on Amazon Prime. It mixes a great cast (who are honestly better than this movie gives them credit for) and smashes them into a 2000s-style wild action movie that has a handful of mystery. And exploding rats. We pair it with Threadcount red blend. It goes with the story. We promise. Metacritic Score: 64/100Movie Sync Notes: We rented "Wanted" on Amazon Prime Video. Anna Faris, Emma Stone, Colin Hanks, Kat Dennings, Rumer Willis, Kathatine McPhee, and there are more. It's a cute little comedy that has more heart than you would think based on the trailer and promotional material. Plus, Faris always delivers in this type of comedy. We pair it with Dr. G Dry Riesling, which is super light and bright. We were completely shocked. It's great. As a bonus there is a cute little bunny on the label.Metacritic Score: 55/100Movie Sync Notes: We rented "The House Bunny" on Amazon Prime Video. Kevin Williamson is at it again...getting teens killed by an over the top serial killer out in the middle of nowhere. This time it's in "I Know What You Did Last Summer," one of the more big-name teen slasher films of the late 90s/early 2000s era. The cast is chock full of popular actors of the time that appeared in a number of other movies together. They were almost a brat pack of the late 90s. We pair the movie with Wolffer Estate Summer In A Bottle Rose. It's a little pricier than our typical bottle, but it's honestly worth it. Def a crowd pleaser.Metacritic Score: 52/100Movie Sync Notes: We watch "I Know What You Did Last Summer" on Netflix. It tells the age old story of a mother and daughter who make a living swindling men out of money by pretending to fall in love with them. Along the way they get into a bunch of zany shenanigans. Clearly the pinnacle of Sigourney Weaver's career. We pair it with The Velvet Devil Merlot 2021. It's a solid red. Would recommend. There's plenty of humor peppered throughout as well. It's very Agatha Christie for the modern age which, as Christie fans, speaks to us. We pair it with Niepoort Douro Twisted Tinto 2020. It's a mineraly and dark fruity wine that we really enjoyed. Metacritic Score: 82/100Movie Sync Notes: We rented "Knives Out" on Amazon Prime Video. We want the Wayans brothers to make another movie in this genre because they are just so good at it. And Regina Hall had better be a part of it. We pair it with (surprise, surprise) Wild Thing Old Vine Zinfandel. Bye Mister Lombardoooo!Metacritic Score: 52/100Movie Sync Notes: We watched the movie on Amazon. We start "Wild Things"  7:47 into the pod and push play on part two 1:07:48 into the pod.

We're keeping the Halloween spirit going with the Vampire vs. Werewolf packed "Underworld." This movie definitely has a vibe. Lots of production value, over the top action sequences, blue tint, and slow motion. It was a product of the early 2000s action movie formula and we are so appreciative. We pair it with a Pinot Noir from Bloodroot. Metacritic Score: 42/100Movie Sync Notes: We watched "Underworld" on Netflix. We start "Underworld" 4:38 into the pod and push play on part two 1:07:42 into the pod.

It's Halloween Season and to celebrate we're dipping into our horror-esque movie queue. First up is "Silent Hill," based on the video game series of the same name. Honestly, people gave this movie crap for not being the most faithful adaptation, but honestly it's not a bad movie. The production design is legit and the effort is real. And now we all want to be undead nurses. We pair it with a cabernet from Juicy Hill that only cost $7.99. This may have been the best wine we've had at this price point. We also enjoyed the minimalism of the label design.Metacritic Score: 31/100 (but for reference the user score is 7.9/10)Movie Sync Notes: We rented "Silent Hill" on Amazon Prime. It's also available on Starz or on Hulu with a Starz premium subscription. We start "Silent Hill" 6:08 into the pod, push play on part two 55:52 into the pod, and push play on part three 1:29:25 into the pod.

We don't know if "Anaconda" was a symptom of a bigger "when animals attack" problem in movies or if was the start of the trend. Either way we're here for it. What we're not here for is Angelina Jolie's dad's weird accent. We're pretty sure he just made it up as he went along. We pair "Anaconda" with Predator Old Vine Red. It was...interesting. Our working theory is that we got a bad bottle. Metacritic Score: 37/100Movie Sync Notes: We found "Anaconda" on Hulu with a regular subscription. Yay! We start "Anaconda" 4:38 into the pod, push play on part two 26:35 into the pod, and push play on part three 1:02:52 into the pod.

"America. F*ck yeah!" Matt Stone and Trey Parker take everything they learned from "South Park" and rip everyone apart in "Team America: World Police" and we are here for it. Just the idea of doing a feature length comedy with marionettes is worth the price of admission. We pair it with a cabernet sauvignon called The Federalist because the label is so American that we couldn't pass it up. Metacritic Score: 64/100Movie Sync Notes: We watch the movie on Netflix. We start "Team America" 8:00 into the pod, and push play on part two 1:13:07 into the pod.

Welcome to the Season 3 Premiere of Whine and a Movie! It's gonna be great. We're kicking it off with the only home invasion movie we can stomach, "You're Next." It's a twisty trip that gets you cheering for the hero, and not in an underdog way. She's like, legit. We pair the movie with a red blend called 2017 Daring Escape Red. It really fit the bill. The wine is good and the label is perf.Metacritic Score: 66/100Movie Sync Notes: We watched the movie for free on Hulu. We start "You're Next" 6:41 into the pod, and push play on part two 59:16 into the pod.

We're wrapping up Kill Bill and Season 2 of Whine and a Movie all in one episode. When it's right, it's right. Kill Bill Vol. 2 has it all. There's fight scenes, emotion, backstabbing, eye plucking, astonishingly long training sequences. What's not to love? We pair it with a Riesling of all things from Kung Fu Girl, and it was so good. We were worried that it would taste like alcoholic sugar water and it absolutely does not. 100% would buy again.Metacritic Score: 83/100Movie Sync Notes: We rented the movie on Amazon Prime. We start "Kill Bill Vol. 2" 4:46 into the pod, and push play on part two 51:20 into the pod.

"Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein" is definitely the oldest movie we've watched on the pod, but it's so good! The humor holds up. And so does a lot of the fashion, which is surprising. We pair it with a 2019 The Wolftrap Syrah which has a great name and was honestly pretty good.Tomatometer Score: 89%Movie Sync Notes: We rented the movie on Amazon Prime. "X-Men" jumpstarted then current superhero movie boom...and then the series faded into obscurity. But the first outing is really good considering it came out in 2000. Sure, "X2" is considered the peak of the franchise, but it had to start somewhere. We can't believe they got so many heavy-hitters in this movie. We pair it with 2019 Evolution Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley.Metacritic Score: 64/100Movie Sync Notes: We rented the movie on Amazon Prime. This episode we watch "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" the well-loved 1988 Robert Zemeckis hit that still holds up today. Shockingly, the animation still looks great. Even more shockingly, it's still funny. To say it aged well would be doing it a disservice. It just hasn't aged. But we have and that's gross. We pair it with a 2013 Killibinbin Seduction Cabernet Sauvignon. This isn't the first time we've tried Killibinbin and it probably won't be the last.Metacritic Score: 83/100Movie Sync Notes: We watch the movie on Disney+. This episode we watch the 2001 reimagining of the horror classic "Thirteen Ghosts" starring Shaggy and Monk. It's got some good ideas and seriously stylized production design. We live. We pair it with Juggernaut Russion River Pinot Noir, which I am honestly going out and buying again this afternoon. It's one of our priciest bottles at $19.99, but it was worth it. Metacritic Score: 30/100Movie Sync Notes: We rented the movie on Amazon Prime. At this point the movie is a classic with a probable sequel in the works. We're excited. We pair the movie with Boneshaker, a 2019 Zinfandel that actually ended up being great. Metacritic Score: 70/100Movie Sync Notes: We rented the movie on Amazon Prime. We start "Beetlejuice" 3:07 into the pod, and push play on part two 51:33 into the pod.

Let's set the scene: A beautiful beachside country club. A warm, boozy summer. A new girl trying to fit in. Conventionally "attractive" people all over the place. A potentially unhinged murderer hell-bent on doing anything she can to maintain her queen bee status. Sounds like a summer of fun! But that's "The In Crowd." Where the rich kids keep down the other rich kids. It's a fun watch. Plus, it shows you a whole new way to apply lip gloss, which looks cool but seems impractical. We pair it with Cameleon, a 2018 Chardonnay from Mendoza, Argentina. Metacritic Score: 14/100Movie Sync Notes: We watched the movie on Amazon Prime, where you can stream it for free. ::Insert Mortal Kombat Scream Here::Adults everywhere were pissed that a popular video game was full of so much violence that people decided to make a movie about it and we're all grateful. Mortal Kombat (1995) is a shlocky action film with some terrible dialogue that actually has some decent fight sequences. Sure it feels like it should be a SyFy original movie called "Demon Fight Saga Tournament" or something stupid but we love it anyway. And the soundtrack? I don't want to live in a world without it. We pair it with a 2014 The Immortal Zin. The label looks semi-homemade but the wine is good.Movie Sync Notes: We watch the movie on Amazon Prime. We start "Mortal Kombat" 5:39 into the pod, and push play on part two 58:17 into the pod.
