Michael gets fired up after reading about 'African-American Autonomous Zones' being proposed as a ballot initiative in Washington, D.C. by former at-large city council candidate Addison Sarter. Michael hearkens back to the Dion song 'Abraham, Martin, and John' which mourns the deaths of three assassinated American leaders who sought to bring Americans together - rather than divide us by race. Also, Governor Polis is promising $100 gift cards from Wal-Mart as an additional bribe for Coloradans who still have yet to get vaccinated. Will it work?

There's nothing quite like that feeling of being in the zone; that place of flow and focus where you do your best work. If you've watched Disney Pixar's Soul, it shows “the zone” as this generally joyful place between the conscious and unconscious world where you find yourself when you're completely focussed on your craft or work. One of the ways I'm able to find this focus and enter ‘the zone' is by listening to music. When you've got a good pair of headphones on and the right music playing, it's amazing how much more focussed you can be. With that in mind, I'd like to share the music I like to listen to when doing my work. Most of the music I like to listen to is instrumental. If there are lyrics, I find it harder to concentrate when you have another voice in your head. And I use Apple Music as my player of choice but I've included links to Spotify alternatives where possible. In this edition we're zoning in on LGBT rights in the EU. Over the last two years, more than 100 local authority areas in Poland have been declared "LGBT-free zones", meaning they're no longer allowed to encourage tolerance towards LGBT people, or give financial assistance to rights groups that do so. In response to that, a majority of European lawmakers recently declared the entire EU to be an "LGBTIQ Freedom Zone". The declaration itself is symbolic. So what might it mean for LGBT people in the 27 member states? We discuss the issue with two MEPs.

Welcome to the 6th Round Retro Post-Fight Show. This is the show that digs into the archives and gives you a comprehensive review of classic MMA events, that span as far back as UFC 1. Join Victor Rodriguez & Mookie Alexander as they deviate from the normal format of the show and rather than delving into an MMA event of yesteryear they are covering the FIGHT ZONE PPV (pay-per-view) event which aired on the “Action Pay-Per-View-Channel” in May 1995. The event was produced by boxing phenom Sugar Ray Leonard. Notable to pro wrestling fans would be the appearance of Tony Hale, who appeared in the WWF as Ludvig Borga in 1993. So let’s take a trip back to the mid-90s this week and check out this strange hybrid of mixed martial arts and pro wrestling tactics, complete with results, analysis, and of course a few laughs. As mentioned, this week we feature the May, 1995 ‘FIGHT ZONE’ PPV event, (last episode we covered BELLATOR 58: ‘Michael Chandler vs Eddie Alvarez’). This event can be viewed while we delve into the show on YouTube at: https://youtu.be/kH2VODfVmGI We start off the program with a totally nineties hype-train opener: “If raw, bare-fisted combat is what you crave – then enter the FIGHT ZONE! The most dangerous place on Earth!!!” The show went down from the “world famous Hollywood Palladium Arena” in California. Your ‘commentators’ were Danny Martinez and Cameron Fedder (a self-described underground fight devotee and fan of violence). The big name host of the show was none other than Eric Estrada (of television hit show C.H.I.P.S. fame), along with co-host Ray Leonard, Jr.. Their ‘Reporter on the Floor’ was Brad Fuller and their ‘Technical Advisor’ & Former World Karate Champion, Michael Jai White was on the scene for ‘fight insights’. They had a lengthy cast lined up for the event which included: Willie Anderson Jr aka: ‘Pit Fighter’, Adam Avoledo aka: ‘Badd Karma’, Clayton J. Barber aka: ‘Hollywood’, Richard Branden aka: ‘Daddy Rich’, Spitfire Brown aka: ‘Spitfire’, Michael Chaturantabut aka: ‘Captain Kick’, Genrri Diammante aka: ‘Henry’, Cameron Flener, R.J. Frost aka: ‘Flyboy’, Mitch Gould aka: ‘Mr. Smith’, Rickson Gracie, Tony Hale aka: ‘Viking’, Jeff Harris aka: ‘J.D. Harms’, Carlton Holder, Tom Howard, Howard Jackson, Pat E. Johnson, Kazja as himself, Tae-John Lee, Rae Manzon, Brad Martin aka: ‘The Plow’, Andre McCoy aka: ‘Cheap Shot’, Scott McElroy aka: ‘Bruce Burly’, Mario Mugavero, Hien Nguyen, Richard Notron, Mikael Paul Patrick O’Tighearnaigh aka: ‘Irish Assassin’, Chris Palermo, Erik Paulson, Eric Perrodin aka: ‘Phlash’, J.J. Perry, Matthew Pollino aka: ‘El Muerte’, Dennis Reese aka: ‘Garbage Man’, Burton Richardson, J.D. Rifkin aka: ‘Suit’, Cynthia Rothrock, Joe Son, Chad Stahelski aka: ‘Ski’, Nils Allen Stewart aka: ‘Mongolian’, Jen Sung, Lelagi Togisala aka: ‘Butch’, Takis Triggelis aka: ‘Genre’, Kenneth Turner aka: ‘KC Flow’, Don Wilson, and Marcus Young aka: ‘Tetsuo’. And you can’t forget, ‘The Easy Riders Leather Girls’. Yes, all of that talent appeared in under an hour. The show was produced by Seth Ersoff, Brad Fuller and Sugar Ray Leonard. Stunts performed by J.D. Rifkin with an on-site Stunt Coordinator, Jan Washburn. A popular television gimmick at the time was phone-in viewer interactivity, so the program invited the viewers to call their hotline after the show and vote for who they wanted to be the Champion, regardless them winning their bout or not. _______________________________ If you enjoy our show, "heart" us here on SC, or "like" & share over on whichever BE Presents Podcast Channel happens to be your listening platform of choice.

Freedomain Call In 06 Nov 2020Dear Stefan:I am a 25 year old man who has had a rather traumatic past due to a heart condition that I was born with, multiple open heart surgeries as a child managed to produce a permanent solution and I am physically healthy and I have gone to therapy and done lots of reflection to process some of the mental trauma. However, last year I began dating a co-worker, a woman that is now 20 years old, I am a Christian and want to one day get married and raise a family. Her parents are still together and I haven't run into any serious deal-breakers but I am afraid of getting into a long-term relationship that will not work out. My girlfriend, while her grandparents are Christians and she isn't hostile to religion, is unfortunately not a Christian. She has also repeatedly talked about how "Sometimes relationships don't work out in the long run". I keep in mind that I am her very first relationship and she has said before that she is open to marriage and family but I can't help but feel that she's conflicted about it.I know prevention is much better than cure and I'd like to explore this if possible. I love her dearly but if she truly doesn't think that she's going to stay with me permanently then I need to confront that.▶️ Donate Now: https://www.freedomain.com/donate▶️ Sign Up For Our Newsletter: https://www.fdrurl.com/newsletterYour support is essential to Freedomain, which is 100% funded by viewers like you. As we enter the astrological house of Scorpio, here in the northern hemisphere the light is waning, the natural world is withering, and hidden realms are emerging from the shadows. It's a time for music of dissonant harmonies, dark spaces and strange worlds. I'm STEPHEN HILL and on this transmission of Hearts of Space, a dark autumn journey called THE TWILIGHT ZONE. The title, of course, was made famous by the 1959 science fiction TV series written, produced and hosted by ROD SERLING, featuring stories of the futuristic, the paranormal and the supernatural. My introductions to Hearts of Space are too often compared to Rod Serling's. Thank you, but have you actually listened to a TWILIGHT ZONE intro lately? Sorry, no way. Music is by TIM STORY & ROEDELIUS, KEVIN KELLER, BRUNO SANFILIPPO, MICHAEL JON FINK, JEFF GREINKE, ROBERT RICH, THOMAS NEWMAN & RICK COX, and DWIGHT ASHLEY. Military analyst Michael Eisenstadt details how the Islamic Republic of Iran operates in the gray zone between war and peace to manage escalation, leverages asymmetries to achieve disproportionate effects, and employs its hybrid force structure for maximum effect. The current U.S. approach, he explains, is based on overt action, blunt force, and emphatic messaging, all of which entail a heightened potential for escalation. But an alternative approach—one focused on unacknowledged activities, indirection, subtlety, and discreet messaging—could more effectively deter Iran while reducing the risk of further escalation and broader conflict. Michael Eisenstadt is Kahn Fellow and director of the Military and Security Studies Program at The Washington Institute. He is the author of the recently published study, Operating in the Gray Zone: Countering Iran's Asymmetric Way of War. https://www.washingtoninstitute.org/policy-analysis/view/operating-in-the-gray-zone-countering-irans-asymmetric-way-of-war View a presentation on countering Iran's gray zone activities prepared by Michael Eisenstadt: https://www.slideshare.net/TWIPubs/operating-in-the-gray-zone-countering-irans-asymmetric-way-of-war Middle East PolicyCast: Conversations on Middle East issues from the Washington Institute for Near East Policy.

The Nazis’ persecution of the Jews during the Holocaust included the creation of prisoner hierarchies that forced victims to cooperate with their persecutors. Many in the camps and ghettos came to hold so-called “privileged” positions, and their behavior has often been judged as self-serving and harmful to fellow inmates.
