Hello and welcome episode 47 of The DJ B-12 Deep Acid House Experience. I hope you are all doing well out there and I appreciate your support and listenership. This show is for the month of September 2023, and it is dedicated in memory of Ainsley Talbot, my 10-month 3-week-old kitten who passed on August 29, 2023. She had a terrible condition that left her disabled after she was about 2-3 months old. Although she was born normal with her surviving sister, Arianna and her brother, Jackson, it seems, her mother, Gracie (who was a stray cat I took in 3 weeks before they were born), contracted a virus while she was pregnant, which resulted in only Ainsley developing a condition that caused her cerebral cortex to not form properly. It started out with her motor skills diminishing and eventually led to her being only able to lay on her side and needing help doing everything. She was a true fighter, and she will always be my little hero and my best friend, but her broken little body just had enough.  She was the most beautiful, precious, and loving soul I've ever known.  As you can imagine, this was a bittersweet episode for me to do with losing her so young, which is one of the reasons it took me so long to get out, but I wanted to get a fresh mix out with new tunes that I could also dedicate to her. Although this set was worked out ahead of her passing, some of the tracks took on a special meaning because of lyrics and titles. RIP Ainsley girl. For the first show of the new year I brought you some new music, but made the resolution to keep things funky and varied as I always have. Alongside promos and new heat from The Magic Track, Twin Sun, Henry Navarro, Fran Deeper and Andy Bach I throw in a couple of oldies from Chanson and Harvey Mason, and some oh so funky delicacies from Opolopo, Buscrates and Kzyboost. Hour 2 is all about Eugene, Oregon-based DJ Rory Beck, AKA Rortron. Rortron's mixes caught my ears a little while back - he plays exactly my kind of funky, varied but high quality, groovy music. Rortron started DJing and producing at the beginning of 2018 after getting laid off from his job, and since then he's fallen in love with providing good vibes on the dance floor and in your headphones and home speakers. His enthusiasm for dancing and appreciating amazing shows has shaped him to always make his sets and performances memorable, and he's always moving and smiling when he DJs. He's mixed up a superb hour and a bit of tunes for Funkier Radio, keeping things high energy, with some housed up edits of big, classic tunes seamlessly blended up alongside some less well known but no less banging tunes, and one or two cheeky little exotic surprises too. Absolutely love this mix, and Rory seems like a great guy too… I hope you enjoy this guest mix as much as I did! Party For the Weeknd is rich in Funky House, NuDisco, and Soulful burners that will get you in the mood as temps begin to drop in your area. Andy Bach's "Systematic" kicks things off with a semi-familiar groove to many of you. The song is Toto's 1980 track from their 2nd album "99." While it wasn't a huge hit for them, the piano grooves are laid over a soothing house beat that will set you in the mood. This song had a few problems and I had to rebuild the intro because it was problematic. Nevertheless, I've gotten really good and reworked things to suit my needs. Party For the Weeknd is rich in Funky House, NuDisco, Soulful burners that will get you in the mood as temps begin to drop in your area. Andy Bach's "Systematic" kicks things off with a semi-familiar groove to many of you. The song is basically Toto's 1980 track from their 2nd album "99." While it wasn't a huge hit for them, the piano grooves are laid over a soothing house beat that will set you in the mood. This song had a few problems and I had to rebuild the intro because it really was problematic. Nevertheless, I've gotten really good and reworking things to suit my needs. Obviously, I've had it on heavy rotation all week. Of course, it helps that the weather has cooled down, which generally puts me in a better mood as Fall is my favorite time of the year. I plan on getting to work on the ultimate 80's Dance Mix that I've been promising and should start rolling those out by mid-week.
