How much experience do they have, are they looking for an apprenticeship or assistant program before taking clients? 6. Once you know what you're looking for, visit beauty schools to get a better sense of what students are looking for in a leader. 7. Connect locally though social media. Be intentional about your approach with places that could align with your brand.  8. Connect in person with other businesses through local events. This is a great way to attract new clients for your growing team. 9. Recruiting can attract people who are less loyal or looking for the next best thing & that could be a red flag to growing a less sustainable team. 10. Build up your resumes and contact to set up a group interview if there are 3 of more candidates. 11. Invite stand outs to come back for an individual interview where you can address specific topics, allow them to ask questions, and go into details what you are both looking for to see if you align. 12. The last step is a technical interview to see how they work behind the chair. this  is a good time to see how they communicate, interact, are they a natural educator? 13. The next step is to decide how your training will go down. What are you providing for them as a team member? Do you want to them to get involved? Are you interested in training? 14. If you're bringing on an employee, have an employee handbook prepared to lay out responsibilities, expectations,and  benchmarks. 15. Trust is built through repetition. There are different contacts for your business in different states. 2. You can put anything in a contract, but it doesn't mean it can be enforced in your state. 3. Don't charge for things that are unreasonable, for instance the full service price. 4. Make sure your policy is clear, written and easily found on your website. 5. If a client is booking online and checks a box to agree to the policy, it's in written form and easier to enforce the charge. 6. If you don't have clarity on how charges work, when and what the stipulation is, it will be harder to legally hold the charge against the client. 7. Usually what can legally be held against you as a service provider is what you don't include, not what you do include. 8. Be careful when asking to hold credit card information, you need to get authorization to charge their card. 9. As far as holding a non-compete for an employee, it is meant to protect both parties. It's a red flag if a salon has you sign a non-compete if you are a 1099. 10. A non-compete shouldn't prohibit an employee from being able to work if they left. 11. As an employee, consider negotiating the terms of the contract before finalizing. 12. As a freelancer when signing a contract with a brand, if asked for a non-compete for a longer duration, negotiate either a higher rate or for a shorter timeframe. Keep in mind, the brand's contract doesn't typically work favorably for the artist. 13. Look for words like perpetuity because the intellectual property can belong to the brand if you don't negotiate it down. 14. Make sure you license it to them rather than them taking ownership of it. 15. Once you publish something online, you hold the copy-write to it. You need to give permission to someone else using your content, it could be copy write infringement. 16. It's easier to escalate as necessary rather than deescalate a situation. 17. Try reaching out to the brand directly first before reporting, this is where you can negotiate a paid relationship with them. 18. Make sure your long-term goals are SMART goals, anywhere between 3, 6, and 12 months. 4. Use exact clarity to set achievable goals, start with brainstorming first, then position the WHY around it. 5. Don't focus on too much at once. Start out with setting 3 goals per week. 6. Have an accountability partner or join our Group Coaching. 7. Brain dump and brain storm, without organizing, let the thoughts out and then organize later. 8. Try recording your thoughts when they enter your mind instead of writing down. 9. Remove your distractions that can overwhelm you from getting something done. 10.
