Rocky Elsom was a fearsome competitor on the rugby pitch, capable of winning matches almost single-handedly with his dominance in attack and defence.Ireland and Leinster great Brian O'Driscoll called the Australian “the best player I have ever played with”.But last month Elsom was handed a five-year sentence having being found guilty of forgery and embezzlement by a French court, in absentia. He had been living in Dublin, coaching rugby at a private school but now his whereabouts is unknown and there's an international arrest warrant out for him.But that hasn't stopped him using media interviews to make his case and attempt to clear his name.Irish Times sports writer John O'Sullivan has been following his career from the highs on the pitch to this fall from grace.Presented by Bernice Harrison. Police officers join a sociology degree programme and are asked to reflect on their role in society. A French start-up banks on insect protein to feed livestock and pets more sustainably. And the Frenchman whose claim to have cracked the code of hieroglyphics in the 19th century allowed him to decipher the Rosetta Stone. After the riots in June and July, following the fatal police shooting of a young man at a traffic stop, the role of the police in France came under scrutiny. Issues of racism come to the fore with observers lamenting that relations with the public –- notably with young residents of disadvantaged city suburbs, or banlieues – have not improved in the two decades since the 2005 riots. A handful of police officers have been offered the opportunity to reflect on their role in society in a new degree programme offered by the University of Amiens. Sociologist Elodie Lemaire talks about giving police new intellectual 'weapons' to confront a changing world, and the police officer students talk about their motivations for wanting to question their profession in a university setting. (Listen @3'00'')French start-up Ÿnsect is preparing to open the world's largest vertical insect farm in the north of France, breeding mealworms to provide insect protein ingredients for pet food, animal feed and fertiliser, to help ease environmental strain on global food production. We visit the company's first farm, launched in 2016, to look at their model for reinventing the food chain, and Ynsect's co-founder Antoine Hubert talks about how developing the pet food market could make the French less reticent about eating insect-based foods. (Listen @20')On 27 September 1822, French linguist Jean-François Champollion announced that he had cracked the code of hieroglyphics, the Ancient Egyptian writing system that had puzzled scholars for centuries. The breakthrough revolutionised our understanding of one of the world's oldest civilisations. HUGE win for free speech and French Police say its a Civil War in FranceGod bless Judge Terry A. Doughty. On Independence Day, 2023, federal Judge Terry A. Doughty signed an order enjoining a long list of corrupt federal bureaucrats and their corrupt agencies from acting in concert with their corrupt partners in social media to suppress, censor or limit the speech of Americans. What an incredible time it is in America where this had to go before a judge. Were D.C. not so corrupt and spiritually captured, the people who create joint-actor status with social media companies to censor Americans would have been fired immediately and had their pensions canceled. It might be coincidental but, a few days before this decision, Elon Musk took an action at Twitter which would make it much harder for the Silicon Valley and Government Censorship Program to continue operating what Mark Benz, Executive Director of Foundation for Freedom Online calls The Censorship Death Star. We will need all the free speech God allows us to make sure our neighbors are aware of what's going on in France, as the Mockingbird Media continues ignoring what the French Police Union now calls a Civil War. Given what we know about the government and social media companies being one entity, why should we believe the Mockingbirds are any different? What does God's Word say? No matter how hard they try, the Silicon Valley and Government Censorship Program cannot cancel The Truth. John 14:6 6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. Forty thousand officers were deployed across the country in response. Also in the programme: The US Supreme Court has ruled that it is not permissible to consider a person's race in deciding on university admissions, reversing decades-old policies of affirmative action on campuses; and questions are being raised about the whereabouts of a senior general, Sergei Surovikin, amid unconfirmed reports that he's being investigated for possible links to the Wagner mutiny.
