In this episode, Corrine and Neil unpack what to do when you get offended—a follow-up to their recent conversation about repentance (Ep 309). They share personal stories and recovery insights about how resentment can quietly take root and how holding on to offense can block spiritual growth and peace. Neil opens up about working through resentment after his brother's death and how forgiveness became essential to his healing. Corrine reflects on how stress is often tied to focusing inward and how shifting toward serving others and surrendering control to God brings relief and perspective. A key theme of this discussion is the power of ownership: why learning to speak from the “I” and “me” perspective, instead of projecting with “you” or “we,” is essential in healing conversations. Together, they offer heartfelt advice on letting go of resentment, cleaning up your side of the street, and inviting God into your process of moving forward. This conversation is for anyone wanting to let go of lingering hurts, release resentment, and find peace through grace and accountability. "The Healing Power of Forgiveness" by President James E. For over 50 years, For the Strength of Youth has been a guide for generations of Latter-day Saint youth. I always keep a copy in my pocket, and I share it with people who are curious about our standards. It has been updated and refreshed to better cope with the challenges and temptations of our day. The new version of For the Strength of Youth is available online in 50 different languages and will also be available in print. It will be a significant help for making choices in your life. Please embrace it as your own and share it with your friends. This new version of For the Strength of Youth is subtitled A Guide for Making Choices. To be very clear, the best guide you can possibly have for making choices is Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the strength of youth. So the purpose of For the Strength of Youth is to point you to Him. It teaches you eternal truths of His restored gospel—truths about who you are, who He is, and what you can accomplish with His strength. It teaches you how to make righteous choices based on those eternal truths.13 It's also important to know what For the Strength of Youth does not do. It doesn't make decisions for you. It doesn't give you a “yes” or “no” about every choice you might ever face. For the Strength of Youth focuses on the foundation for your choices. It focuses on values, principles, and doctrine instead of every specific behavior. The Lord, through His prophets, has always been guiding us in that direction. He is pleading with us to “increase [our] spiritual capacity to receive revelation.”14 He is inviting us to “hear Him.”15 He is calling us to follow Him in higher and holier ways.16 And we are learning in a similar way every week in Come, Follow Me. In honor of Mothers' Day, host Martin Tanner, describes the origin of the LDS doctrine of a Heavenly Mother, from Joseph Smith, as described by Eliza R. Snow, Zina Huntington, Parly P. Pratt, Brigham Young, and others. And, its confirmation by Gordon B. Hinckley, James E. Faust, Bruce R. McConkie, Spencer W. Kimball, James H. Talmage, B.H. Roberts and many others. The idea of a Heavenly Mother is found in three LDS hymns, in several official Church manuals, in the Joseph Smith History of the Church, the Ensign, Times and Seasons, and many other sources. Martin Tanner also describes the Biblical sources for a Mother in Heaven, the Early Christian scriptures refering to a Mother in Heaven, and ancient Jewish sources for the belief in a female deity in Jewish thought and doctrine.

In this episode, I share my experience of healing power through Christ.I share the story of how the song "Amazing Grace" was inspired and written by John Newton. The song "Amazing Grace" is a powerful hymn with the message of redemption, forgiveness, hope, and the transformative power of faith. It is deeply intertwined with the concept of atonement, reflecting the journey from darkness to light and finding salvation through grace. That kind of grace Newton found in his life. As a young boy, his mother introduced him to the Bible and its teachings. However, when he was seven years old, his mother passed away, and not long after his dad remarried, the Bible was put aside. As a young adult, Newton made choices that were not aligned with God. Being a slave trader was one of them, Yet he experienced a profound transformation a few years later by turning away from his past of cruelty and finding mercy through faith in God. From Newton's story, I learned that because of Christ and His atonement, a person moves from spiritual brokenness to healing and grace through divine sacrifice and love. The lyrics, "I once was lost, but now am found / Was blind but now I see," summarize the essence of the healing process. I, too, found myself in a place of brokenness and turmoil, seeking solace and restoration, realizing that my past mistakes and hardships do not define my worth. It is what I choose each day from that realization."In the many trials of life, when we feel abandoned and when sorrow, sin, disappointment, failure, and weakness make us less than we should ever be, there can come the healing salve of the unreserved love in the grace of God. It is a love that lifts and blesses. It is a love that sustains a new beginning on a higher level and thereby continues from grace to grace." --James E. Faust, "A Personal Relationship with the Savior,” https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/general-conference/1976/10/a-personal-relationship-with-the-savior?lang=eng#title1As usual, I end my message with a song, "Amazing Grace," recorded with Stanton Cobb and Pat Marrow at Mark's Stanton Studio.www.kasiasmusic.comwww.kasiasfaithjourney.comhttps://www.facebook.com/kasiasfaithjourney/

C - Connect with Christ. There are 2 first lessons taught in the Pearl of Great Price, it is while working on his translation of the Bible in June 1830, that the Prophet Joseph Smith had a vision where he was shown an extraordinary experience that had been given to Moses (see Moses 1–8). Go read them, it's so great! Moses first learned he was a son of God (Moses 1:6) and then the first lesson Satan taught him was that he would try to deceive, trick and tempt him into forgetting who he really is. (Moses 1:12). Then both of those were shown to Joseph Smith so now that's 2 lessons inside a lesson from the Lord. Those are the same things we are dealing with now! The Lord is trying to remind us who we are and satan tries to trick us away from that truth. Satan will use all of his knowledge to trick us. President James E Faust, he said, “The devil is not smart because he is the devil; he is smart because he is old.” Have patience with yourself and know that the reason satan is attacking you is not because you are weak, but precisely because he knows who you are, but do you? In 2002, President James E. Faust gave a talk during the priesthood session of general conference. He said, “Your future may not hold fame or fortune, but it can be something far more lasting and fulfilling. Remember that what we do in life echoes in eternity.” Twelve years later in 2014, Nate Checketts co-founded Rhone Apparel, an activewear company for men. He hoped that positive messages on men's apparel could help shape the future of the little men he and his wife, Dayna, are raising. So he began adding messages on the inside of his company's clothes, including this quote by President Faust. On today's episode, we talk with Nate and Dayna about why they are passionate about creating a brand that teaches correct principles. "It is emotionally exhausting to try and decide whether or not you are going to serve in the church, whether or not you're going to read your scriptures that night, whether or not you're going to say a prayer. ...It is so much easier to just be fully committed to the Lord." You don't need a man, unless you want one to help you with your goals! One of my goals that drives all my decisions is the option of immortality and eternal life in the highest kingdom of glory with the ones I love. YES!!!! It's more than ok for me to have goals that big and you can too! (I am not perfect and still think I can hit those goals because of Jesus) I have learned that when I die I will get the privilege and honor to live with my family, Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father forever and get some additional sweet perks or I can also cancel at anytime because the choice is mine. With this Betrayal I am more susceptible to the stories and lies the adversary throws at me, making this trauma experience feel even more intense! Satan has tried everything! Tell me if these 11 lies or stories he makes up sound familiar to you, maybe it's just me but I doubt it. James E Faust quoted shakespeare who wrote, '“The prince of darkness is a gentleman” (King Lear, act 3, sc. 4, line 143), and “the devil can cite Scripture for his purpose” (The Merchant of Venice, act 1, sc. 3, line 95). As the great deceiver, Lucifer has marvelous powers of deception."

The Lord called many in the early Restored Church to obtain and share a "witness" of the unfolding work. Today, we are likewise called to witness; however, our testimonies can sometimes be overlaid and overcomplicated with tradition, culture, trite phrases, or misunderstandings. In this episode we study Doctrine & Covenants 14-17 in search of clear truths about witnessing as we invite you to ponder your own witness and where the Lord would have you share it. Emails. Tweets. Texts. DMs. Slacks. Facebook Notifications. The constant flow of content being pumped into our brains is difficult to process, hence the term INFORMATION OVERLOAD. Even if it’s totally useless knowledge, it’s nearly impossible to ignore. Humans are super-efficient at downloading information. We recognize images within fractions of a second, scan hundreds of words per minute, and very rapidly formulate opinions and thoughts on the information we download. However, as the volume of data we take in increases, our capability to digest it lessens. To compound the issue, once we are distracted, our brains need an average of 25 minutes to refocus on your original task. Workers and managers alike report significant increases in stress levels, poor health, strained personal and professional relationships and reduced job satisfaction because of information overload. Quote: “We are bombarded on all sides by a vast number of messages we don’t want or need. More information is generated in a single day than we can absorb in a lifetime. To fully enjoy life, all of us must find our own breathing space and peace of mind.” ― James E. Faust How do we find our own breathing space and peace of mind in a new world plagued by information overload?!? Give yourself the freedom and power to IGNORE information. Set boundaries with your response times to emails and texts for example. To prepare for the somewhat unavoidable information overload that we all experience daily, it’s important to engage in lengthy streams of consciousness or brain dumps! Take the time to offload as much information as you can. When the pressure from information overload is mounting, TAKE A BREAK. When you control information, and do not allow information to control you, the opportunities are virtually ENDLESS. While most drown in the sea of never-ending data, you can be one of the few surfing the waves of information into the sunset. Filter the information. Prioritize the information. Categorize the information. Act on it or delete it. Be decisive and selective with the information that comes across your desk or feed.

Do you know what “cancel culture” actually means? It’s okay if you didn’t, we didn’t either until recently. Today we discuss cancel culture, some recent examples in the media and talk through the dynamic social media plays in our world on whether people should have second chances. This leads us to talk about forgiveness and Neil opens up about his feelings toward the people who shot and killed his brother Dave 18 months ago, and what he’s doing to process and work through that situation. We conclude with some thoughts about how cancel culture can be a good thing when done in the right way, and how to move toward forgiveness if you’re struggling with that too. www.naturalcycles.com/MINTARROW for 20% off an annual subscription Plus a FREE thermometer! Look at everything through the lens of eternity. If you will do this, life will take on a different perspective. - James E. Faust Today's Scripture: Proverbs 3:21-22 My son, do not lose sight of these— keep sound wisdom and discretion, and they will be life for your soul and adornment for your neck. (ESV) My child, don't lose sight of common sense and discernment. Hang on to them, for they will refresh your soul. They are like jewels on a necklace. (NLT) Other verses mentioned in the episode: For I have not spoken on my own authority, but the Father who sent me has himself given me a commandment—what to say and what to speak. And I know that his commandment is eternal life. What I say, therefore, I say as the Father has told me.” (John 12:49-50) If you want a place to see and answer the questions I ask in the episode and to keep track of the discoveries you make as we study Proverbs, we include a set of free journal pages for this devotional series in each of our Sunday emails Free journal pages to follow the study: http://www.getwisdom.link/email (www.getwisdom.link/email) http://www.getwisdompublishing.com (www.getwisdompublishing.com) http://www.graceandthegravelroad.com (www.graceandthegravelroad.com)

Latter Day Radio, now podcasting from The Intersection of Faith & Freedom.
In the past few years, there have been two major theories proposed about where the actual events in the Book of Mormon took place. Filmmaker Kieth Merrill gave one important bit of advice to any Book of Mormon “geography hobbyist” about suggesting their theory is the official position of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. When Merrill was reviewing productions about a new major film on the appearance of Jesus Christ in the New World, President James E. Faust took him aside and directed him not to portray or use any recognizable location to imply that the Church endorses any location over another. President Faust simply said: “We do not know.” Merrill got the message. Today, two different groups occupy the stage and take turns pitching their theories: one group at Brigham Young University is convinced that it's somewhere in southern Mexico or Meso-America, a theory that was first proposed about the turn of the 20th-century by scholars in the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints; their group, Book of Mormon Central, backs this theory. The second theory, the one that proponents at Book of Mormon Evidence say was what Joseph Smith, Oliver Cowdery, Brigham Young. Parley P. Pratt and other early brethren supported, is that it took place in the upper midwest and northeastern states of the United States, specifically, New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois and as far west as Iowa. While there are new publications and studies being released by this group, Book of Mormon Evidence, about new archaeological and geographic findings. this podcasts focuses on what the Prophet Joseph said about the “western Indians” to whom early missionaries were sent, particularly to the tribes in the upper midwest. Latter Day Radio's guest in this podcast, Rod Meldrum, focuses on those events and passages in the Book of Mormon that support his “Heartland” or “Hopewell” theory. Co-author Bruce Porter, along with Rod Meldrum, suggest in their book “Prophecies ad Promises, the Book of Mormon and the United States of America” that, instead of just reading specific passages in the Book of Mormon that deal with just geography, it is better to establish a “hierarchy of multiple witnesses that are unambiguous, clear and unassailable” rather than trying to make a few passages fit a preconceived idea for a romantic notion of where the key events in the Book of Mormon took place. They point to first, what Book of Mormon prophecies and promises testify of in relation to the Promised Land and the people associated with it; second, they consider the inspired and revealed statements by the Prophet Joseph Smith associated with specific locations (like comments he made on the Zion's March, such as the reference to Zelph's grave); third, look at physical, “real world” evidence such as correlating civilizations in the correct time frame (600 BC to 400 AD), archaeological findings with the text, cultural lifestyles, genetic relationships and linguistic ties; and, fourth, they point to passages contained within the Book of Mormon that are locatable geographical indicators. Meldrum and his allies emphasize that no one knows for sure where the final events in the Book of Mormon took place, but they insist that there is one Hill Cumorah and that the final Nephite “extinction” battle took place near that hill around 400 A.D. But, they also admit that after that period–a very, very long time ago—that the descendants of that awful battle spread all over the western hemisphere taking their stories, their oral histories and the legends with them, likely as far away as South America. Now, you can decide if the “Heartland” model holds any merit. Latter Day Radio, like the Church itself, takes no official position, except this one: The Book of Mormon is exactly what it proposes: Another testament for Jesus Christ published for our day.

We read the book of Proverbs to gain wisdom and draw near toGod. We've learned the beginning of wisdom starts with the fear of the Lord. Today, we'll conclude our Proverbs series by looking at honesty. James E Faust said, “Honesty is more than not lying. It is truth telling, truth speaking, truth living, and truth loving.” The question everyone must answer is: Will I trust God with the truth?
This hymn by President James E. Faust witnesses of the divinity and power of Christ. It witnesses of the Holy Ghost, and the testimony we can find when we prayerfully study the scriptures.

A MUSICAL TRIBUTE TO PRESIDENT JAMES E. FAUSTToday, we remember James E. Faust, member of the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, who passed away at the age of 87 early last Friday morning. President Faust retired from his law practice when he was called as a General Authority of the Church thirty-five years ago and immediately introduced himself to the membership with his characteristic down-to-earth sense of humor. James Faust was born on a farm in Delta, UT, served a mission to Brazil, served in the military, earned a law degree and was elected to the Utah state legislature, but he is best known and best loved for his spirit of service to all, and his powerful witness of the Savior. We pay tribute to his memory now in his own words, and with The Mormon Tabernacle Choir singing the hymn text he wrote; "This Is the Christ." We will miss you, President Faust. That's this week on The Cricket and Seagull...This Is the Christtext by James E. Faust, music by Michael F. Moody Copyright © 1996 by the authors, used by permissionThey heard His voice, a voice so mild;It pierced them through and made their souls to quake; They saw Him come, a man in white,The Savior who had suffered for their sake. They felt the woulds in hands and side,And each could testify; This is the Christ; This is the Christ, the holy Son of God,Our Savior, Lord, Redeemer of mankind. This is the Christ, the healer of our soulsWho ransomed us with love divine.I read His words, the words He prayedWhile bearing sorrow in Gethsemane;I feel His love, the price He paid. How many drops of blood were spilled for me?With saints of old in joyful cryI too can testify; This is the Christ; This is the Christ, the holy Son of God,Our Savior, Lord, Redeemer of mankind. This is the Christ, the healer of our soulsWho ransomed us with love divine.
