"The Brutalist" had its world premiere at the 2024 Venice International Film Festival, where it received enthusiastic reviews for its direction from Brady Corbet (which won him the Silver Lion for Best Director), the tremendous performances from its cast consisting of Adrien Brody, Guy Pearce, and Felicity Jones, and the film's monumental scope on such a small budget. On Feb.11th the Academy revealed that four Oscars will be presented during the commercial breaks (cinematography, film editing, make-up and hair styling, and live action short). After these announcements, the Academy received backlash from both fans and Hollywood which sparked the hashtag "Present All 24" by the amazing Amanda Spears. Fast Forward to February 14th, the Academy reversed the decision to not include all 24 awards and now all awards will indeed be presented during the ceremony.
