It's not often that one film functions as the audition real for a cast of actors to eventually go on to bigger and better roles, but that's exactly what this week's movie does. Daredevil, otherwise known as Ben Affleck's audition for Batman, otherwise known as John Favreau's audition for Happy Hogan, otherwise known as Colin Farrell's audition for Fright Night, is one of those films that lives in the moment so completely it is difficult to remember why anyone thought it was a good idea in the first place. A mess of pacing issues, dialogue flubs, contextless sex and violence, and awash with actors committing to their roles despite the film's issues, Daredevil opens an interesting discussion between Josh and Ryan. Josh watched the more vaunted Director's Cut, and Ryan watched the original theatrical release. Tune in this week as they discuss the differences and why one version represents a far more complete vision than the other. Daredevil may be the man without fear, but you're also going to need a healthy dose of bravery if you intend on sitting through this faltering, early 2000s superhero movie! Daredevil was released in 2003 and stars Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner, Michael Clark Duncan and Colin Farrell. The CineMEH Podcast is a Slyjack Media, LLC production Like what you hear? Brothers Aaron and Josh Sarnecky are here for their latest movie retrospective. This month the two are discussing Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby for its 15th anniversary. Talladega Nights came out on August 4, 2006. The sports comedy is directed by Adam McKay (Vice), who shares a writing credit with star Will Ferrell (Daddy's Home). Will Ferrell plays Ricky Bobby, a racecar driver on top of the world until a French Formula One driver named Jean Girard (Sasha Baron Cohen, Luca) arrives on the scene. After a crash, Ricky's mother Lucy (Jane Lynch, Final Space) and drifter father Reese (Gary Cole, The Good Fight) help him get back into racing. Other characters include Ricky's best friend turned rival Cal Naughton, Jr. (John C. Reilly, Ralph Breaks the Internet), Ricky's ex-wife Carley (Lesli Bibb, Jupiter's Legacy), Ricky's assistant Susan (Amy Adams, Arrival), and Lucius the crew chief (Michael Clark Duncan, Green Lantern). Talladega Nights opened to generally positive reviews and proved popular among moviegoers, landing the #1 spot at the box office and earning $163 million on a $72.5 million budget. NASCAR drivers continue to pay tribute to the film, years after its release. Aaron and Josh talk about the film's plot, characters, humor, and portrayal of NASCAR. The brothers also discuss the movie's place in Will Ferrell's filmography. For another podcast, you can listen to Josh and Aaron's previous movie retrospective on Captain America: The First Avenger. One of Christian’s top 5 films he loves, it’s only taken 150+ episodes to convince Alejandro to watch it. Will Ferrell, Chris Kattan, Richard Grieco, Molly Shannon, and Michael Clark Duncan fill out an all-star cast that keeps Christian laughing out loud at this film even at 2 in the morning. Alejandro and Christian regale the Baddies with the history of Saturday Night Live through the eyes of ICBTB. The off set fiascos of this film are explained and Alejandro imagines what Chris Kattan would do if he was in Step Brothers instead of John C. Reilly. Viewers got a glut of material, ranging in quality, but Sin City set itself apart largely in thanks to the stylizing of director Robert Rodriguez. Less a cohesive story and more a loosely connected anthology, Sin City tells the story of Basin City and its various denizens: cops, robbers, hoods, Nice Guys, pimps, and prostitutes. Featuring an all-star cast that includes Bruce Willis, Jessica Alba, Michael Clark Duncan, and Rosario Dawson, the film is a beautiful take on the hard boiled crime noir that keeps the genre fun and interesting.

Daredevil. The last time Daredevil was seen on screen it was 2003 in theaters with the all-star cast of Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner, Michael Clark Duncan and Colin Farrell. Despite the star-power, the movie failed to capture audiences and quickly became synonymous with failure. Marvel came to the rescue when it announced it would create four different shows for Netflix based on it's comics and Daredevil would be among them. In this episode of The 602 Club host Matthew Rushing is joined by Andi Vanderkolk and Daniel Proulx to talk about this new Daredevil. We start by by discussing the new Fantastic 4 trailer, the news that Daredevil will be getting a second season, our first impressions, Kingpin, the juxtaposition of the hero and villain, the priest, secret identities, the story-telling style, the acting, how evil destroys itself, final thoughts, ratings, creative freedom, Claire and try to close.     Host Matthew Rushing   Guests Andi VanderKolk Daniel Proulx   Editor and Producer Matthew Rushing Richard Marquez   Associate Producers Norman C.
