Welcome to this exclusive interview with Yemi Arunsi, the Chairman of the Davis County Republican Party. Yemi is not just a political figure, but a proud American who holds the United States Constitution in high regard as a divinely inspired protector of our God-given rights. As an immigrant, a father, a husband, and a dedicated public servant, Yemi strongly believes in the values, principles, and the American dream that make this country so exceptional. A true patriot, he carries a deep love for God, country, and his home state of Utah. In this interview, we have the privilege to delve into Yemi's perspectives on politics, his vision for a better America, and his unwavering commitment to serving the people.       From his website: Yemi Arunsi | For Davis County GOP Chair "With more than a decade of work in the healthcare industry, and service to the United States Air Force Reserve, Yemi Arunsi is a standout candidate for Davis County Republican Party Chair. From humanitarian missions to volunteer opportunities, Yemi continually upholds the Air Force core value of Service Before Self. Yemi Arunsi has dedicated his career to the healthcare industry and United States Air Force Reserve, continually demonstrating a commitment to giving back. Although he was born in New York, Yemi's appreciation for America was born out of his upbringing in Nigeria during a time of unrest. These experiences influenced his gratitude for the Constitution of the United States and the example it sets for the rest of the world. Yemi earned two bachelor's degrees and two master's degrees before working in the Department of Veterans Affairs for a decade. As the Davis County Republican Party Chair, Yemi will approach the topic of rapid growth in a way that allows everyone to be heard. His experience lends itself to improving fundraising efforts and helping his fellow conservatives win key races. While acknowledging the importance of welcoming newcomers, he hopes to reinforce the county's commitment to Republican principles and service-driven leadership. YEMi'S STORY Although Yemi was born in New York, he spent most of his childhood in Nigeria. His love and appreciation for America were born out of his upbringing during a time of civil unrest. His father was a politician in Nigeria, but eventually saw his career upended after a military coup. These experiences influenced Yemi's gratitude for the Constitution of the United States and the example it sets for the rest of the world. Upon returning to America for college, Yemi was a young man trying to follow what he says is so ingrained in Black culture. He registered as a Democrat and dealt with an internal battle as he realized his views didn't align with the progressivism of the party. He quickly changed his status while pursuing higher education and committed himself to a life centered around service and conservative values. Yemi holds a B.S. in Healthcare Management and an M.S. in Health Informatics from Northeastern University. Additionally, he completed his B.S. in Nursing at the University of Massachusetts and a Master of Health Care Delivery Science (MHCDS) at Dartmouth College. After completing his education, he worked for the Department of Veterans Affairs in several management and advisory roles. After coming across a case concerning a Prisoner of War who declined thousands of dollars in monthly benefits, he was struck by the selfless nature of the veterans he served. This prompted him to contact a recruiter in order to earn a commission in the United States Air Force Reserve. Since joining, he has successfully completed three different activations, including a humanitarian mission to provide medical, dental, and mental health services to low-income families. As the Davis County Republican Party Chair, Yemi will approach the topic of rapid growth in a way that allows everyone to be heard. He acknowledges the importance of welcoming new conservatives into the fold, but wants to ensure the community remains committed to Republican principles. Yemi will work to bolster fundraising efforts and will maximize every opportunity for his fellow conservatives to win key races. Above all, his goal is to protect and secure the reputation of Davis County as a loving and service-driven community that works together. Yemi continues to work in a healthcare leadership role in Salt Lake City. He also volunteers as a community advocate serving at-risk youth and is the Vice Chair for his precinct in North Salt Lake. In addition to service, Yemi values faith and family as his top priorities. He and his wife, Kristin met in Holladay, Utah. They have one child.

How to Prepare for the Temple and Why We Go with Grant Foster

17 years ago, I went to the Bountiful Temple for the first time to receive my own endowment (which is another word for gift). This ordinance or sacred work is something members of my church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, often do once they reach adulthood or are preparing to serve as a full-time missionary or before they're married in our temple. I had an exceptional experience preparing to go to the temple. At the time, in Huntington Beach where I was living and attending church weekly, I not only completed the temple prep class that many members take, even to this day, to prepare for temple worship. But I also took a 3 hour temple orientation class at a man's home whose name I still don't know to this day, but that preparation changed my entire experience. He shared with me scripture after scripture of evidences that God has and always will work in patterns, and that what I was about to experience in the temple was exactly the same kind of thing God has been doing to teach men and women since the beginning of time. For years following this experience, I've talked with my dad about how impactful this training was, and we've had many discussions about how incredible the scripture and gospel teachings were that I learned that day in conjunction with the temple. My dad has served in many church leadership callings including multiple bishoprics, as a member of the Mission Presidency for the Spain Barcelona mission from January 2020 - July 2021, and now serving as a bishop of a young single adult ward in North Salt Lake. So finally after many years of wanting to put something together that could be shared with others who are also preparing to enter the temple, we recorded this episode sharing these scriptural teachings. I hope that even if you are not a member of our church or aren't necessarily attending the temple right away, that this episode helps give you context as to what we do inside our temples and why they're so very important to us, and my personal favorite place on earth. Ashley Church, West Region General Manager for Google Fiber, tells us about new efforts underway. ASHLEY CHURCH: Google Fiber is moving fast in Utah -- through expansion, construction and new areas of service. In just the past 12 months, we've been approved to start construction or begin offering service in 14 different communities around the Wasatch Front, including White City, Draper, Riverton, Springville, West Bountiful, West Jordan, Sandy and North Salt Lake. And, more are communities are on the way. Needless to say, it's an exciting time to be part of Google Fiber. Over the last year, we've expanded our network almost 30 percent – Google Fiber has more than 1,000 miles of fiber network across the Wasatch Front, connecting more than 100,000 households around the Salt Lake Valley to fast, reliable internet. And all this growth means our team is growing, too. We're always looking for new recruits. You can find out more by visiting fiber.google.careers. DEREK MILLER In 2013, Provo Utah became one of the first communities in the nation to receive Google Fiber, followed by Salt Lake City in 2015. Google's newest growth in Utah is a welcome addition. Longoria is 52, and he signed his consent for his teenage daughter to marry a man who is 37 years older than her. The couple were married in Wagoner County. In Oklahoma, it is legal for 16-year-olds to marry with consent of one of their parents, but it us unusual for them to marry one so much older. The 32-year-old man charged in the heinous murder of 23-year-old University of Utah student Mackenzie Lueck admitted in court on Wednesday that he did, in fact, plan to kill Lueck before he met her in person. Ayoola Ajayi pleaded guilty to first-degree aggravated murder and third-degree abuse or desecration of a human body in exchange for the death penalty being taken off of the table. Lueck disappeared June 17 after returning from a trip to California to attend her grandmother’s funeral. According to police, the 23-year-old kinesiology major at the University of Utah, who went by the nickname “Kenzie,” texted her parents around 1 a.m. after her plane had landed. You’ll learn the most important steps for creating a secure relationship with your partner in this episode. Dr. Debi Gilmore, a Certified Emotionally Focused Therapist and Supervisor, shares about her work with couples. She gives us 3 specific core values to bring connection and secure attachment to a relationship.   The main points of A.R.E. and Attachment: Attachment is the foundation of a relationship. Couples need this secure bond to create a lasting relationship. A.R.E gives us the steps to achieving a secure bond with our partner. It is the way to truly nourish and grow a relationship.   What is A.R.E.? A: Accessibility Is your partner there for you? Can you get their attention? Are they accessible and available to you? Accessibility is the feeling you have of your partner being available to you. Time and consistency give us the security in knowing our partner has been there and will be there for us. Building the track record of accessibility starts with being consistently there for each other over time. If you try to talk with your partner, but they’re on their phone (or distracted by something else) and not looking at you, that’s not true presence. True presence, true accessibility is removing a distraction and being there for your partner in that moment. Accessibility answers the question of “Are you there for me, and will you be there for me?”   R: Responsiveness Does your partner respond when you access them? When they respond, does it tell you they’re interested in your concerns and they care about what you’re sharing? Responsiveness says “I am here in your presence and ready to hold the message you’re sending.” It says “I see you suffer and that’s why I’m here for you” or “I see your excitement and joy and I’m here for that too.”   E: Engagement Engagement is the next step in creating a secure relationship. Engagement says “I’m not only interested, but I actually want to know more. Help me understand.” Being engaged is about saying “help me understand”, about you being interested and wanting to know more about your partner’s experience. This is where we find the difference between empathy and sympathy. Engagement allows you to sit in your partner’s experience with them. It tells your partner that you will remain in that moment and be there for them as long as they need.   How can couples build empathy and learn how to engage in their partner’s experience, even when it might be uncomfortable? Eye contact. Look into your partner’s eyes. Our mirror neurons register the other person’s experience and allow us to feel the other person’s emotions. Be willing and open to engage through this eye contact, to allow yourself to feel your partner’s feelings. Connect face to face with that person. It’s important to put away distractions sometimes and have conversations face to face. Don’t jump to the “fix.” Immediately solving the problem is not empathy. It’s more powerful and healing to ask what the moment, the experience, was like for your partner. It might be challenging for you, but it’s ok to tell your partner “This is hard for me, and I’m really trying to engage.”   How you can put A.R.E. into practice every day to strengthen your secure connection with your partner: Remember, A.R.E. can instantly change a relationship. Then applied over time, it creates security. Remember, meekness is not weakness. I know you and your partner are busy, but give yourselves the few minutes every day to de-stress together. Allow each other to vent out the stress from the day and practice being there for each other. Take 10 minutes to let yourself dump stress and practice A.R.E. Remember, when practicing the core steps of A.R.E.: Practice makes perfect, but perfect isn’t expected.   Why is a secure attachment in your relationship important for you? Attachment is of course beneficial for creating a lasting connection with your partner. However, it is also linked to mental health. When you can experience secure attachment with your partner, you can also have improved personal mental health and well-being.   About Dr. Debi Gilmore: Dr. Debi Gilmore is the co-owner of The EFT Clinic and owner of Lasting Connections Counseling. A Theory On Just Why IRAN Decided To Foolishly Attack Us... What Do You Think?Director of Defense Intelligence Agency gives theory behind Iran's recent attacksIran's recent attacks on tankers and the downing of a U.S. surveillance drone appear to be part of an effort to change "the status quo," the director of the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) told Fox News exclusively. "I'd say that they're probably at an inflection point right now," the director, Lt. Gen. Robert Ashley Jr., explained in his first national TV interview as the leader of the nearly 17-thousand strong agency. Director Ashley said, based on their activity over the last several years, the Iranians would probably say they were in a "favorable" position with their influence over the Iraqi government and the likelihood their longtime regional ally -- Syrian President Bashar al-Assad -- will remain in power. But, Director Ashley said the United States' withdrawal from the Iran deal and subsequent sanctions made a major impact on the regime. His comments come as President Trump has promised to impose new sanctions against Iran on Monday on top of what has already been a crippling campaign for the Islamic nation's economy. In an interview on NBC's "Meet the Press," he said he does not wish to go to war with Iran but warned an armed conflict would bring “obliteration like you've never seen before.” An Iranian military official warned Monday that Tehran is capable of shooting down more American spy drones. Tune in to "Special Report" on Fox News today at 6 p.m. ET to see Catherine Herridge's exclusive interview with DIA Director  Lt. A Utah officer polices the streets despite a terrifying incident in his first few months on the job that could have cut his career very short. On Dec. 13, 2012, officer Jared Jensen was four months into his service with the Sunset Police Department when he came face to face with a man who had a grudge. "It was a scary thing that you don't really expect to happen," he said. "I noticed this individual on the north side of the road, kind of giving me an odd stare," he explained. "He lifted up his sweatshirt and pulled a handgun from his waistband and continued to fire eight rounds into my vehicle." Several of those shots hit the vehicle's window, Jensen noted. "One hit our little plastic plexi-glass frame we have between our drivers seat and our cage. It's merely plexi-glass, however that day it stopped a bullet." "More progressed through the window, coming across my steering wheel and into the computer we have mounted over here," he continued. "I believe there were two in the computer, several glanced off the steering wheel again, one impacted the seat just behind me and ended up in our door." Eight bullets were fired and went "through the driver side, across my body, into the passenger side of the vehicle," Jensen said. Yet, not a single one struck Jensen. "I still don't understand how it happened the way that it did and I'm able to be here and discuss it with you guys," he added. Officers from across the Wasatch Front raced to the scene that day. "That was an amazing sound at that moment hearing all the sirens and on the radio, people coming from Kaysville and North Salt Lake and Weber County. The response, the brotherhood, and the family that we talk about was real for me that day." Someone also rushed to his side that night — an officer who is family in blue and family by blood. Jensen's father is Logan Police Chief Gary Jensen. "It wasn't police instinct. It was parental instinct," he said. "Not wanting to admit too much on TV, I think I broke the speed limit getting to Clinton that night." Chief Jensen was shocked at what his son survived. "As I came out to the scene and actually saw the vehicle and saw the bullet holes, it was frightening," he said. Officers found the gunman 40 minutes later, casually making a phone call. Zane Openshaw admitted he was waiting for a police officer to drive by that night. Now, nearly four years later, he remains incarcerated at the Utah State Prison. Four years later, officer Jensen vividly remembers what happened that night. "The thud of (bullets) impacting the metal, hearing them come through the glass as well," he said. "It's just a sound and experience that I'll never forget. I mean, I drive that same road every day. Every day in my patrol responsibilities I travel that same road. It's something I think about and remember often. In a way, I think that's good. It kind of keeps me on my toes, ready to handle an incident like that if it were to happen again," he said. "I'm proud of him for what he does and how he represents himself as a police officer," Chief Jensen said. He still worries about his son and his choice to follow in his footsteps. But it's a career choice even eight bullets and a brush with death couldn't alter. "My mother and my wife and people that I'm sure care about me discussed it, but this is the career I have chosen. It's a career I love and it's a career I feel is needed in society. I want to be a part in making my community I work for a better place," officer Jensen said. He uses his experience to teach and train new police officers at the Weber State Police Academy. He's also a member of the V-FAST fugitive task force, tracking down violent offenders.
