WARNING: This show contains a brief mention of private body parts that Ste probably still hasn't heard! Shocking! It's OK, though, coz it's related to something glow-in-the-dark that was bought in Blackpool! Oo-er! ANYWAY! SSG klaxon ahoy! This week we are joined by Paul Monaghan who recently interviewed Simon as part of his amazing work collecting games magazine journos and telling their stories whilst not sharing any gossip! From Googling how to spell his name correctly I also suspect he's from the same part of the world as I am so that makes him even more of a top chap, obviously! Meanwhile, we also have Nintendo inventing music, Charlesbot pretending he needs more practice at reading the news and Nvidia being bigger than anything! Ste and Simon also go on a world tour to hunt down dodgy/knock-off/pirated videogames for you, dear listener! (Does that make the holidays OLL expenses...?) If you're reading this nonsense and it's not yet Friday 8th November, we have a FREE Maraoke event at Loading in Stoke Newington. On Friday 8th November. Get your tickets HERE! Paul Monaghan, Red Bull Racing's chief engineer, has been with the team from the very beginning of their Formula 1 venture in 2005. He's experienced the highs and lows of the team's evolution from racing rookies into serial winners. How does the team's first era of dominance with Sebastian Vettel compare to their current success with Max Verstappen? What's the secret to the Dutchman's speed? And, with the competition getting closer, Adrian Newey leaving and Red Bull making their own engines for 2026, what does the team's future hold? Speaking to Tom Clarkson, Paul shares fascinating insight from nearly two decades with the team and tells some very entertaining anecdotes from working with Ayrton Senna at McLaren and Fernando Alonso at Renault earlier on in his career.

Architects are often drawn to designing buildings that are iconic because they're incredibly sculptural or different. But it's designing what he calls ‘Everyday Buildings', and making them better, that makes this one tick. His firm believes it's these background buildings that often make cities special. Paul Monaghan, who co-founded the incredibly successful architecture practice Allford Hall Monaghan Morris in 1989, is an internationally acclaimed architect whose work is focused on redefining the built environment. He's the Liverpool City Region's first Design Champion, advises government on how to promote high-quality design for cities and is a generous educator and speaker. He's also committed to helping young and disadvantaged architects get a foot in the door. Listen in as Vince and Paul discuss; growing up in 60s Liverpool with his dad's set squares in the living room when The Beatles were still around, the power of being able to sketch an architectural idea by hand, and the incredible task of working on the UKs House of Commons. https://www.ahmm.co.uk/ See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
