Joining us today is Jenna Justinich, a Certified Nutritional Practitioner, Professional Makeup Artist, Yoga & Meditation Teacher, Herbal Medicine Plant Witch, Breaking Up With Anxiety™ Community Manager, and Mama to a beautiful girl. In this episode, recorded during a call in the private Breaking Up With Anxiety™ Client Facebook group, Jenna and I discuss the importance of mothers prioritizing their mental and physical health, as they are the barometer of the household. When mothers enter a state of dysregulation and neglect self-care, it directly impacts their children's nervous systems, behaviors, and emotional connections. This neglect can lead to frequent meltdowns in children and influence the mother's relationship with her partner, creating either a positive or negative cycle in family dynamics. Tune in to learn how mothers can take steps towards prioritizing self-care, what that realistically looks like for mothers, working through 'mom guilt', what to eat to feel nourished and grounded, the challenges and rewards of instilling healthy habits in children, how to create morning routines as a mother, and so much more! Welcome to Season 3, Episode 16, Part 2 with my guest Sajata, “Dance to the Beat of Your own Drum!”Sajata is a Professional Makeup Artist in the world of the most prominent news makers and journalists and I am a lover of news and have been my whole life and definitely am, though I've never referred to myself this way, a “news junkie” in the most positive way, as I love information and the power of knowledge and when Sajata and I connected on social media I learned further “in our presence commenting on each others posts” the many things we potentially had in common and why I asked Sajata on as a guest of mine and how our 2 hour conversation explored history, the arts, our families and our careers and many things in between and the wild thing is we may never had met if it weren't for the internet…including her being the Makeup Artist to the likes of Barbara Walters and Jane Pauley to name a few, women I have loved and followed my whole life and couldn't wait to talk with Sajata with! The “Camp Fifi Uncensored” podcast is exactly why we launched so we can “gather around the campfire” and tell stories and create connections through our willingness to take a moment with a great conversation like this very one with Sajata! So pull up a chair and que up this episode and listen to our library of content you may have missed from our Season 1-3!Our goal is to share different perspectives, conversations and life stories all while entertaining, teaching and inspiring!LISTEN & SHARE “where the spirit is young, the soul is wise and the life stories are vast” on the “Camp Fifi Uncensored” podcast, stories meant to be shared with all! --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/felicia-linsky/support
Welcome to Season 3, Episode 15 with my guest Sajata Robinson, “The Arts are in the Heart”Social media has presented the opportunity to create many new and “old” connections over these past few years that began with the pandemic and a desire to expand my connections, business opportunities and do it all messy while figuring it out!Through my expansion of both business' and my connections, I've met many people I didn't know three years ago and have created deep connections, business ventures, working relationships and together with so many individuals have built communities around the world all thanks to social media.Sajata Robinson who is a Professional Makeup Artist in the News whose clients have been Barbara Walters and Jane Pauley to name a few and I met thanks to social media and through our conversation during this podcast we discovered so many things we had in common…someone whose path I may never have crossed if it weren't for technology.I know many people whose lives do not depend on technology and many people who refuse to engage or expand their mind, my gentle suggestion is “just do it” as it's not going away and you want to stay engaged in ways that serve your growth and you may love the connections you make along the way. This is exactly why we launched this podcast and “gather around the campfire” because we LOVE connection and conversations like this very one with Sajata Robinson!

“It's not who you are that holds you back; it's who you think you're not.” - Elise Bigley This Real Talk covers integral aspects of the Entrepreneur's journey, how assessing fear can motivate you, and the best fuel for optimism. I loved chatting with Elise Bigley - Professional Makeup Artist and Hairstylist specializing in commercial, film, portrait and bridal artistry. Elise is a master at her craft, with over 20 years of experience in her industry. She shares how her love for makeup artistry started in her teenage years, and how becoming a mother motivated her to embark on her entrepreneurial journey. She transitioned to freelance work for both the freedom and to model a life to her kids that capitalized on opportunities, even if the path was unconventional. Elise's wisdom shines throughout this Real Talk as she discusses her approach to confronting fear, how previous challenges molded her to be more resilient, and her key piece of advice for people who want to create an entrepreneurial life for themselves. One of my favorite lines from Elise was: “A breakdown means a breakthrough.” She spoke about how the bright side of life is only as bright as it is when contrasted with the dark times we've been through. It's this balance and contrast that develops gratitude, which is essential for a positive outlook. If you're a go-getter and entrepreneur who is starting to build your personal brand, you'll love the lessons that Elise shares in this Real Talk! With so much love & gratitude, Grace

In this episode of How I Got Here, Dreena welcomes Lola Okanlawon to speak about her journey to becoming a highly sought-after Professional Makeup Artist, from the elevator ride that led to her first celebrity client to the words of wisdom and guidance she has for aspiring makeup artists and people in the beauty industry. Reflecting on her younger years as class president in high school, Lola once aspired to be an attorney. She talks about the transitions she made in her subjects of study at college and how the influence of her Nigerian parents guided her to make changes in her life. Lola's experience working at a hair salon sparked her interest in beauty and helped her develop a deeper connection to femininity and the comradery within the back and brown communities. She broke into the industry by landing a job at M.A.C. and shares the challenges and benefits of navigating a new world of learning while getting her MBA. She shares her candid thoughts on working in retail versus working as a freelancer and gives insight into what led her to pursue freelance makeup artistry professionally, noting what it takes to be successful in a highly competitive service industry. She touches on how her parents feel about her career path now, the only misstep she feels she had in her life, and what path she may have taken if she didn't go so deep into makeup artistry. Lola addresses the importance of unionizing and the many reasons why makeup artists want to join a union, as well as how Leslie Jones has been her biggest champion and the power in choosing loyalty over opportunity. After having worked with top A-list celebrities and at countless major networks and events, Lola shares with us what's next in her journey, including a potential move across the country and a few entrepreneurial ventures that are in the works. The End of the Day Podcast with Kari Watterson: Using Mindset Work to Live Your Best Life
In this week's episode, I had the honor of speaking with Christina Cooling, professional makeup artist, writer and mental health advocate, and the founder of The Beauty Illusion, an organization and movement dedicated to redefining beauty, celebrating diversity and individuality.Women are constantly bombarded with images of flawless beauty everywhere: on social media, in magazines, on TV, in the movies. As a professional makeup artist, Christina has seen first-hand the devastating effects of these impossible beauty standards on women's self-esteem, particularly in younger women.Although we intellectually understand images are retouched, airbrushed or otherwise edited, we as women still feel tremendous social and internal pressure to meet a certain level of beauty, or we feel somehow lacking or unacceptable. With peer pressure, societal norms and the billion dollar beauty industry marketing to our deepest insecurities, it's no wonder we spend so much time and money on cosmetics and facial products to try to feel better about ourselves. But, as my guest points out, "....No matter what makeup you're using, no matter how expensive it is, if you can't look at yourself in your own eyes and truly know your worth, then no cosmetic product is going to teach you how to love yourself and how to feel more confident, because the confidence comes from within..."Christina generously shares her own incredible mental health story, one that saw her at rock bottom in her late teens to mid-20s. She shares how she battled her way back from having lost virtually everything and everyone due to her mental illness and how what she learned about herself along the way transformed her into the courageous, resilient, loving, and compassionate woman she is today.Christina now uses her platform to encourage others to focus inward and cultivate their inner strength and beauty while also embracing their unique physical beauty.
