The Bible speaks of angels often. They were present in the Garden of Eden, and throughout the story of the Bible, they appear to people with messages, encouragement, and tangible help. Angels ministered to Jesus after His temptation and before His crucifixion, and they shared the good news of His resurrection. Despite their frequent appearance in God’s Word, our impression of angels is more often shaped by the myths and misconceptions that have developed over the centuries. Join Melissa Spoelstra as she traverses the terrain of Scripture from Genesis to Revelation to learn about angels—who they are, what they do, and what they have to do with youBecome a Parshall Partner: http://moodyradio.org/donateto/inthemarket/partnersSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Psalm 135 Revelation 15:3-4 James 1:2-4 Prayer Requests to psp@sqpn.com
The Bible talks of returning to our first love. Today, pastor Ray Bentley explains what that is. First, love is the love of God. His love is burning. His love is consuming. His love is overflowing. His love is penetrating. His love is dynamic. His love is alive. His love cannot leave whatever it touches. The same as it was. That's the love of God.
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for; the evidence of things not seen. Today we return to the Book of Hebrews, a book known for it's beautiful portrait of the supremacy of Jesus Christ. It's also a theological treatise on the subject of faith. You just heard what faith is. Now let's see what faith looks like, as Ron continues his series, “The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible: The General Epistles and Revelation.”
Don't Miss the Hour of God's Visitation — What Kind of Christian Will You Be? • Friday Service Website: www.toddcoconato.com | www.pastortodd.org To give and support this ministry and these broadcasts: www.toddcoconato.com/give Luke 19:41–44 (NKJV) Now as He drew near, He saw the city and wept over it, saying, “If you had known, even you, especially in this your day, the things that make for your peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes. For days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment around you, surround you and close you in on every side, and level you, and your children within you, to the ground; and they will not leave in you one stone upon another, because you did not know the time of your visitation.” Revelation 2:2–4 (NKJV) “I know your works, your labor, your patience, and that you cannot bear those who are evil. And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not, and have found them liars; and you have persevered and have patience, and have labored for My name's sake and have not become weary. Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love.” Revelation 2:9–10 (NKJV) “I know your works, tribulation, and poverty (but you are rich); and I know the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan. Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.” Revelation 2:13–14 (NKJV) “I know your works, and where you dwell, where Satan's throne is. And you hold fast to My name, and did not deny My faith even in the days in which Antipas was My faithful martyr, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells. But I have a few things against you, because you have there those who hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit sexual immorality.” Revelation 2:19–20 (NKJV) “I know your works, love, service, faith, and your patience; and as for your works, the last are more than the first. Nevertheless I have a few things against you, because you allow that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants to commit sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols.” Revelation 3:1–2 (NKJV) “And to the angel of the church in Sardis write, ‘These things says He who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars: I know your works, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead. Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die, for I have not found your works perfect before God.'” Revelation 3:8 (NKJV) “I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name.” Revelation 3:15–17 (NKJV) “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing'— and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked.” Revelation 3:20 (NKJV) “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.”

Send us a textWhat happens to faith when the comforts vanish overnight? We take Job's story off the flannelgraph and hold it up to modern pressure—careers, devices, status, and the subtle bargains we strike to feel safe. From the first claim that God's hedge surrounds our lives, not our stuff, we follow the thread through Habakkuk's song in barren fields and Jesus' blunt line between God and mammon. The question behind each turn is simple and searing: who owns your devotion when the benefits dry up?Together we unpack how Satan misread Job and still misreads believers today. When character can't be denied, accusation moves to motives, tempting us to treat worship like a transaction. That's where James cautions against asking amiss and where Solomon's request for wisdom stands out as a model for God‑centered desire. We connect these dots to Revelation's buying and selling, arguing that the mark of the beast is less about tech and more about allegiance to a system that rewards compliance with material favor. It's the same old triad—lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, pride of life—offering kingdoms that can't cross the grave. We also draw a boundary line around spiritual warfare: Satan's reach is real but limited. He may touch circumstances; he cannot touch the life God has claimed. That anchor reframes trials as formation rather than negotiation. False religion trades in control and optics, but grace produces a quiet fidelity that survives loss. If salvation is gift, not wage, then faith stops bargaining and starts abiding, whether the stalls are full or empty. If this conversation met you where you live, share it with a friend, subscribe for more honest theology and practical hope, and leave a review with the one line that stayed with you. The prophecy of Ishmael's twelve princes was more than a family promise—it was a foreshadowing of world history. As Islam rises as the fastest-growing religion and interfaith unity becomes a global agenda, we're watching the stage being set for something far greater. In this episode, we explore how the rise of Islam intersects with biblical prophecy, Qur'anic teachings, and the signs of the end times. From the Vatican's push for religious cooperation under the Pope's leadership to the unprecedented blending of beliefs across nations, could this be the groundwork for the one-world religion foretold in Revelation? Tune in as we uncover how ancient prophecy, Islamic eschatology, and modern headlines collide in a story few are willing to tell—but everyone needs to hear.---------------------------------------Amy is a Christian counselor - book an appointment:https://www.biblicalguidancecounseling.com/appointmentsAmy's online Bible studies:https://rumble.com/c/BibleStudywithEyesontheright?e9s=src_v1_cmd

In this in-depth study of Isaiah 6 and beyond, Pastor Brandon unpacks powerful prophetic truths about spiritual blindness, rebellion, and redemption. This message explores the danger of rejecting God's revelation, the consequences of unbelief, and how the hardening of the heart can lead to spiritual darkness. Through parallels to today's culture, the message draws connections between Isaiah's time, the condition of modern nations, and the growing spiritual blindness in our world. We'll also look at: - The idioms and meanings behind "make the heart of this people dull" - The progressive judgment of unbelief and its national consequences - The foreshadowing of Israel's rejection of Messiah - The reality of hell and the coming Messianic Kingdom - The hope of restoration and resurrection through Christ This teaching challenges believers to stand firm in truth, resist emotional deception, and cultivate faith grounded in God's Word. Isaiah reminds us that there is always a faithful remnant—and the call remains the same: believe, stand firm, and be established.

There has been a lot of talk about the rapture happening these days. I always knew that there was debate about when it would take place. Meaning, whether it would be before or during or after the period of tribulation the book of Revelation speaks about. I vote for the before tribulation option. I did not know until recently that there are lots of believers that don't believe in any kind of rapture happening. To each his own, I guess. Honestly, it doesn't matter what any scholar or theologian or guru or preacher or professor says because they don't know any better than you or me. Only God knows the day and the hour. Jesus says in Matthew 24:36 that even he does not know.Continue reading the rest of this shows notes on our website Nothin' But Fine.Subscribe to our YouTube channel where you can watch this week's episode and catch up on past episodes! Today's promise: Revelation 21:1 Many believers shy away from reading the book of Revelation. Some see it as confusing, complicated, or even frightening. Yet Revelation isn't meant to intimidate; it's meant to inspire hope. It gives us a breathtaking picture of God's ultimate plan to renew and restore all things. In its pages, we see how God will wipe away every tear, destroy sin and death once and for all, and make all things new. The earth will be remade into something even more glorious than the Garden of Eden. It will be a place of beauty, peace, and perfect joy. As John Eldredge once said, "No wonder joy is the constant mood of the kingdom!" One day, you will walk in that new heaven and new earth. You'll have all eternity to explore God's renewed creation, to live in perfect fellowship with Him, and to experience the fullness of joy that has always been His plan for you. Revelation isn't just a story about the end—it's the ultimate promise of a new beginning.
Pastor Kenneth's sermon challenges us to expand our vision beyond chubby angels and clouds to glimpse the stunning reality of our eternal home—a place where streets are pure gold like transparent glass, gates are made from single pearls, and God's glory outshines the sun. Drawing from Revelation's vivid imagery and Jesus' own words, this message paints an inspiring picture of heaven's splendor while reminding us that even our best earthly moments are just a fraction of what awaits.

[DONATE WITH PAYPAL] In this episode of OCIA: The Bridge to Rome, we unpack the communion of saints—the living, eternal family that unites the Church on earth with the triumphant saints in heaven. Drawing from the Apostles' Creed and Scripture (Hebrews 12:1, Revelation 5:8, Luke 16:19-31), we show how the “dead” are truly alive in Christ, aware and interceding for us. Former Protestants will find clear answers to the objection that saints can't hear us, with biblical evidence from the Transfiguration, the “cloud of witnesses,” and Christ's promise of everlasting life. We explore veneration vs. worship, canonization, and practical ways to invite saints into your prayer life. TOPIC The Revelation of “I AM” PREACHER Rev. Dr. Ebenezer Okronipa SCRIPTURES Exodus 3:13–14 Philippians 4:19 Psalm 23:1 Numbers 23:19 Acts 1:8 Malachi 3:6 John 8:58 KEY POINTS 1. The Meaning of “I AM” “I AM” reveals God's eternal, self-existent nature — He has no beginning and no end. God is unchanging, constant in His nature, and dependable in all situations. The name “I AM” expresses God's limitless sufficiency — He is everything His people will ever need. When God said, “I AM THAT I AM,” He declared Himself as the ever-present One who is always enough. 2. The Revelation of “I AM” The revelation of “I AM” is a revelation of identity and relationship. It reminds believers that God is not distant or abstract — He is personally involved in the lives of His children. “I AM” means: Whatever you need, I will be that to you. This revelation calls believers to walk in faith, confidence, and intimacy with God. 3. What “I AM” Represents God's Divine Provision “The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.” (Psalm 23:1) God provides for every need — physical, spiritual, emotional, and material. Philippians 4:19: “My God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” God's Divine Power God is not a man that He should lie (Numbers 23:19). His power enables believers to live victoriously and witness boldly (Acts 1:8). The name “I AM” carries authority and power over every circumstance. God's Divine Purpose Everything God does flows from His divine purpose. His identity as “I AM” aligns His people with destiny and direction. Understanding “I AM” helps believers to trust God's process and timing. 4. The Impact of the Revelation The revelation of “I AM” stirs true worship and strengthens the believer's faith. It brings peace and confidence, knowing that God is sufficient in every situation. It deepens intimacy with God, reminding us that He is present, powerful, and personal. There is no reason for fear or discouragement when “I AM” is with you. CONCLUSION The revelation of “I AM” is a call to know God beyond religion — to know Him as the All-Sufficient One. He is your provider, your power, and your purpose. Whatever life demands, God declares: “I AM that I AM.” Therefore, live in confidence, rest in His sufficiency, and walk in unshakable faith — for the Great I AM is always enough!
In this week's episode, Aaron and Kevin open up a conversation about the Book of Revelation. It's quite popular in our culture to discuss the end times. Most people will throw around ideas about wars, and natural disasters. You'll see movies and books about the apocalypse or armageddon. But, where do these ideas come from? And, what does having an appropriate view of the end mean for my life now? In this conversation, Aaron and Kevin discuss that the end of death means that we have eternal life now. What is the book of Revelation really about? For ages, it has been the source of sensationalism, idolatry, confusion, and end-times predictions. But at its root, it is about the power and worship of the Lamb who was slain. Biblical scholar Michael J. Gorman joins Mark Labberton to explore how Christians can read the book of Revelation with wisdom, faith, and hope rather than fear or sensationalism. Drawing from his book Reading Revelation Responsibly: Uncivil Worship and Witness—Following the Lamb into the New Creation, Gorman offers a reorientation to Revelation's central vision: worshipping the Lamb, resisting idolatrous power, and embodying faithful discipleship in the world. Together they discuss Revelation's misuses in popular culture, its critique of empire and nationalism, and its invitation to follow the crucified and risen Christ into the new creation. Episode Highlights "The book of Revelation is about lamb power—not hyper-religious or political power. It's about absorbing rather than inflicting evil." "This book is for those who are confused by, afraid of, and or preoccupied with the book of Revelation." "We shouldn't look for predictions but for parallels and analogies." "Worship, discipleship, and new creation—that's where Revelation hangs its hat." "At its root, Christian nationalism is a form of idolatry." "The only way to come out of Babylon is to go back into Babylon with new values and new practices." Gorman Michael J. Gorman is the Raymond E. Brown Professor of Biblical Studies and Theology at St. Mary's Seminary & University in Baltimore, Maryland. A leading New Testament scholar, he is the author of numerous books on Pauline theology and Revelation, including Reading Revelation Responsibly, Cruciformity, and Participating in Christ. Gorman's teaching and writing emphasize Scripture as a call to cruciform discipleship, faithful worship, and the hope of new creation. Show Notes Introducing Reading Revelation Responsibly "This book is for those who are confused by, afraid of, and or preoccupied with the Book of Revelation." "Apocalypse" means revelation, not destruction. Emerging from twenty-five years of study and teaching, aimed at rescuing Revelation from misinterpretation or neglect Growing up amid 1970s end-times obsession—Hal Lindsey's The Late Great Planet Earth and fearful youth-group predictions of the world's end Fear of the book of Revelation until he studied it with Bruce Metzger at Princeton Seminary Why he wrote the book: for people who have been scared or confused by Revelation's misuse Interpretation and misreading the book of Revelation Early questions: Does Revelation predict particular events or people? No predictions, but symbolic speaking into every age "Our task is not to find predictions but to discern parallels and analogies." Warning against mapping Revelation onto modern crises or personalities "When those predictions fail, the book gets sidelined or scoffed at." Keep one foot in the first-century context and one in the present Worship and discipleship The heart of Revelation is worship. "This is a book about worship—and about the object of our worship." Explaining the subtitle: Uncivil Worship and Witness—Following the Lamb into the New Creation "Uncivil worship" contrasts with "civil religion"—worship that refuses to idolize political power Influence from Eugene Peterson's Reverse Thunder and his own teaching at St. Mary's, where Peterson once taught Revelation Worship leads to discipleship: "Those who follow the Lamb wherever he goes." True discipleship mirrors the Lamb's humility and non-violence. The lamb and the meaning of power Interpreting Revelation's vision of the slain and standing Lamb as the key to understanding divine power "The crucified Messiah is the risen Lord—but he remains the crucified one." The Lamb appears twenty-eight times, a symbol of universality and completeness. "Revelation is about lamb power—absorbing rather than inflicting evil." Discipleship is cruciform: following the Lamb's way of self-giving love. The unholy trinity and the danger of idolatry Chapters 12–13 depict the dragon and two beasts—the "unholy trinity" of satanic, imperial, and religious power. "Power gone amok": political, military, and spiritual domination that mimic divinity How true worship resists empire and exposes idolatry Warning against reading these beasts as predictions of the UN or the pope; rather, they reveal recurring alliances of religion and politics "At its root, Christian nationalism is idolatry." When political identity eclipses discipleship, "political power always wins, and faith loses." Faith, politics, and worship today Christian nationalism as a modern form of "civil religion," conflating patriotism with divine will "It's only Christian in name—it lacks Christian substance." Idolatry is not limited to one side: "It permeates the left, the right, and probably the centre." Labberton agrees: false worship is endemic wherever self-interest and fear shape our loves. Both stress that Revelation calls the church to worship the Lamb, not the state. "Revelation critiques all human systems of false worship." Revelation's goal: Not destruction, but new creation "Destruction is penultimate—cleansing the way for renewal." Believers already live as citizens of that new creation. "The only way to come out of Babylon is to go back into Babylon with new values and new practices." Communal, not merely individual, discipleship: "Revelation is written to churches, not just believers." Reinterpreting Revelation 3:20: Jesus knocking isn't an altar call to unbelievers but Christ seeking re-entry into his own church. "Jesus always wants to come back in." Living revelation today Spirituality of hope, not fear or withdrawal "Reading Revelation responsibly means engaging the world through worship and witness." How true worship is dangerous because it transforms our allegiance. "Following the Lamb into the new creation is the church's act of resistance." Conclusion: "Worthy is the Lamb." Welcome to our Reveal podcast,Today, we're tackling one of the most dramatic images in the Book of Revelation The Dragon and The Beast. In Revelation 12 and 13, the Apostle John describes a dragon and a beast rising out of the sea terrifying, powerful figures that symbolize satanic rebellion and worldly deception. The dragon is clearly identified in Revelation 12:9 as Satan himself “that ancient serpent called the devil.” He is the spiritual power behind all evil, seeking to oppose God's plan and destroy His people. Then comes the beast from the sea, representing earthly empires or leaders empowered by the dragon a picture of political and spiritual systems that demand worship and allegiance apart from God. This beast mirrors the dragon's authority, imitating divine power but using it to deceive and persecute.Together, the dragon and the beast form a kind of unholy trinity, a counterfeit of God's truth. While the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit bring life and salvation, the dragon, the beast, and later the false prophet bring deception, control, and destruction. But here's the hope their reign is temporary. Revelation 19 shows Jesus returning in glory, destroying the beast, and binding the dragon. Evil may roar for a season, but Christ's victory is eternal. To support this ministry and help us continue our God-given mission, click here:Subscribe to our channel for the latest sermons:https://www.youtube.com/@revealvineyardLearn more about Vineyard Church Reveal Campus:https://www.revealvineyard.com/Follow us on social media!Instagram | https://www.instagram.com/vineyardrevealcampus Facebook | https://www.facebook.com/RevealVineyard
What do you do with biblical texts that depict God pouring out bowls of cosmic destruction? For those of us who believe in a nonviolent, loving God, passages like Revelation 15-16 create serious problems. They've been used to terrorize people and justify violence for centuries. This sermon offers a different way forward. By understanding apocalyptic literature as symbolic resistance writing from the powerless, and by reading through three theological frameworks—universalism, pacifism, and open theology—we discover something surprising: even here, the text itself points toward universal reconciliation rather than eternal punishment. The sermon explores how God's wrath might be less about cosmic revenge and more about love fiercely opposing what harms creation. If you've ever struggled with violent biblical imagery, wondered how justice and mercy fit together, or wanted to resist oppressive systems while still holding onto hope, this conversation is for you. Includes a bonus Andor reference about resisting empire.

"And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks; And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle. His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters. And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength. And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter; The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches." Revelation 1:12-20
