We walk you through both International Signing Day and the deadline to push slips of paper with numbers on them across the table (also how arbitration works and who avoided it). The Carlos Correa crab game has come to a close and Patti is not even smug about being right. We share our boyfriend picks for both the Twins and the Cubs. Pottymouth chooses the happy energy of Jose Miranda while Patti goes all family ties with Nick Gordon on the Twins side. For the Cubs, Pottymouth leans into a theme with always-smiling Christopher Morel while Patti attempts to lock down right field with Seiya Suzuki. Robinson Chirinos makes a splash in the Venezuelan league so Pottymouth wants him for the Red Sox, and the Dominican league finals are very full of boyfriends, qHAR, and pop culture references. Diamilette Quiles, the first woman to play in the Puerto Rican league, will become the first woman to coach, as she joins the staff of her former team Montañeses de Utuado.
Anthony Santander hit his first career walk-off home run to give the Baltimore Orioles a 9-6 victory over the New York Yankees! Host Connor Newcomb recaps all the action, and breaks down Santander's big day, along with Trey Mancini's hot bat, Bruce Zimmermann's struggles and Robinson Chirinos' first home run. Then, Connor evaluates RHP Luis Osorio, whom the Orioles received in Wednesday's trade that sent Paul Fry to the Arizona Diamondbacks. Finally, Connor previews the Orioles upcoming series against the Tampa Bay Rays and ponders if Adley Rutschman will make his major league debut this weekend.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!Built BarBuilt Bar is a protein bar that tastes like a candy bar. MLB hírek: Mike Bell halála, liga szerte sérülések sújtják a csapatokat. As the spring training schedule is now past the halfway point, it’s time for a new podcast episode with Andrew and Kunj to discuss the various goings-on. Setup man Zack Britton has unfortunately hit the injury shelf, and that loss is the first topic of discussion. The Yankees will miss his steady presence in the bullpen. Fortunately, manager Aaron Boone (back and healthy after last episode’s scare) has a surprising new lefty perhaps ready to nab an open spot: Lucas Luetge, who has not pitched in the majors since 2015 and is almost 34. The fifth starter battle is also heating up with Domingo Germán and Deivi García, so we discussed how the Yankees might approach that roster decision. Later on, we also talked about Jay Bruce staking his claim to a roster spot, how that throws Mike Tauchman and Tyler Wade into some peril. We then wrap up with some more injury talk, namely to the beleaguered Miguel Andújar and Robinson Chirinos (and Kyle Higashioka, to a lesser extent). Learn more about your ad choices. The 2021 baseball season officially starts when pitchers and catchers report but the Yankees made a couple of moves this week. Justin Wilson is back in pinstripes, Jay Bruce is only 33 years old and Robinson Chirinos is coming in to compete for a roster spot. Does this mean Brett Gardner is gone? Is the bullpen set? Should Mike Ford be worried? Strap in and let's start the journey to the parade.
In the time since Andrew and Kunj's last podcast, there has been some more baseball activity. Lefty reliever Justin Wilson signed a contract to return to the Yankees’ bullpen, Jay Bruce and Robinson Chirinos came aboard as minor league free agents, James Paxton officially bid farewell to New York by rejoining the Mariners, the minor leagues were reorganized, and MLB adopted rules for 2021 (including the seven-inning doubleheaders and extra innings with automatic runners on second). Got all that? Good. Because it's all discussed, in addition to some musing on longtime Yankee Brett Gardner's future, as he is currently on the outside looking in. An old favorite of the show also returned — the Yankee and Mitre of the Week, this time expanded for the full offseason. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Welcome to From Complex to Queens, the podcast Amazin’ Avnue focusing on the Mets’ minor league system. Forging ahead without Steve (who will be back next week), we start by remembering Akira Kurosawa, who died on September 6th 1985 in Promote-Extend-Trade. After that, we check in our adopted NPBL, KBO, and NPB teams. In short, time to give up the Swallows and go all in on the Twins. We then talk about the two (technically three) trades the Mets made at the deadline last week, starting with Miguel Castro and ending on Todd Frazier and Robinson Chirinos. That extends into a long discussion about the Mets’ catching situation, who they might bring in next year, and a very interesting reclamation project that should be available this offseason. As always, you can listen or subscribe to the podcast through Apple Podcasts, where we encourage you to leave a review if you enjoy the show. It really helps! Happy Monday morning Mets fans! It's your favorite podcasting duo back again for episode three of the best new Mets cast on the market. This week, myself (@SamLebo14 on Twitter) and Jack (@jackhendon_) break down a successful, if not emotional, week in Metsland. We start off by discussion Jacob deGrom's dominance against the Phillies in yesterday's rout. Then, Jack and I discuss the passing of Hall of Famer and Mets legend Tom Seaver, and try to put into words exactly what he meant to us as young Mets fans and to the franchise as a whole. Jack's message is especially touching and you don't want to miss it. Next, we break down what the Mets did on the trade deadline and how it impacts the current roster. Do we like the moves for Todd Frazier, Robinson Chirinos, and Miguel Castro? How does this affect the Mets behind the plate moving forward? We also evaluate how the Seth Lugo and Andrés Giménez experiments are going and whether the Mets should move on from them. And finally, we go over your responses to last week's mailbag question! Thank you all for your responses at MMO and on Twitter. Keep your eyes peeled for our next question sometime soon. And, as always, we end the episode by remembering some random Mets. We hope you enjoy episode three! Be sure to follow the podcast on Twitter @PGEPod_MMO for more content. See you next week, Mets fans! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/sam-lebowitz9/support
After a flurry of trades at the deadline, the New York Mets now have to make some decisions about both their active and 40-man rosters. Who are the most likely candidates to get dropped in favor of Todd Frazier, Miguel Castro and Robinson Chirinos? Now that the Mets are at a breaking point of their season, what will it take for them to get things back on track over the final 25 games. And as Frazier announces that their is unfinished business, can he be the spark the Mets need to get back in a groove again?Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! Mike Silva reacts to the Mets acquisitions at the deadline. Hear his thoughts on how Miguel Castro can help the bullpen, why Van Wagenen dealt another young arm in Kevin Smith, the strategy behind acquiring Robinson Chirinos, and how Todd Frazier might be the key to helping get Pete Alonso out of his funk.
The Mets fell to the Marlins 5-3 on their way to a 4-game losing streak, but that wasn't going to stop Brodie Van Wagenen from slapping some paint on a sinking ship. Our snake oil salesman did what all Mets' GMs do, retread. The Todd Father is back whether we want him or not and he's joined by catcher Robinson Chirinos and reliever Miguel Castro. What did we get for this haul for the ages? Cash of course! The Wilpon way. At this point none of these moves are really going to address the issues plaguing this club, but the silver lining is that pretty soon we aren't going to have to deal with this type of penny pinching nonsense anymore. Uncle Stevie is coming, the season is fraudulent anyway.
Doug Williams and Andy Martino introduce a new episode of the Shea Anything podcast by analyzing Mets GM Brodie Van Wagenen's deals during the 2020 MLB trade deadline. What message does acquiring Todd Frazier, Miguel Castro and Robinson Chirinos send to the clubhouse? The guys also discuss if MLB should just adopt 7 inning games and eliminate 9 inning games altogether.
Amazin' But True: A NY Mets Baseball Podcast from New York Post Sports
Jake Brown opens the show with a rant on the Mets' four-game losing streak, Edwin Diaz continuing to get opportunities in big spots, Luis Rojas' poor managing and the trades they made at the deadline not making sense. Nelson Figueroa responds talking about the bad pitching, sloppy play, still being in the hunt and needing arms. They then go back and forth on trading for Todd Frazier, Robinson Chirinos and Miguel Castro, what it means, Steve Cohen likely owning the team, changes that need to be made and if there are any playoff hopes left. Former Mets manager Bobby Valentine then joins the show. Valentine talks about his thoughts on the team, the job Rojas has done, his first-year as an MLB manager, the Subway Series, New York media and Cohen potentially owning the team.

Were you interested in hearing about the 80s classic The Goonies? Well, we went there. But we needed something positive to talk about and baseball simply wasn’t providing that positivity. We discuss all the injuries. The big name is Kyle Schwarber. We discuss who on the Cubs could benefit from that. In the outfield, we like Colby Rasmus, Nick Markakis, Michael Saunders and Drew Stubbs as possible replacements. Other injuries that we talk about are Robinson Chirinos, Shin-Soo Choo, Carl Crawford, and DeGrom. On the batting side, there were a couple kids to think about. For keeper leagues, Gary Sanchez and Wilson Conteras are interesting catchers. In the outfield, Max Kepler nad Mallex Smith got the call and have interesting tools. But if you do one thing, PICK UP NICK MAZARA. Todd thinks he’s going to be an instant superstar and in his first game, he went 3 for 4 with a homer. This guy can help you immediate, run do not walk to go pick this guy up. Todd’s bold call is ROY, future all-star, “next big thing”, just do it. Mazara’s bat intrigues all the scouts. Todd likes him as a 35hr - .300 average guy. Perhaps not this year, but he’s got that kind of potential. As always, check us out on Twitter @2020AllStars, Instagram 2020AllStars, and iTunes.
