If you need to hire 1 person, hire a team of people, or transform your business through Talent or Technical Services, Insight Global's team of 30,000 people around the world have the hustle and grit to deliver. Go to www.InsightGlobal.com/LearningLeader Guest: Blaine Anderson is a dating coach and matchmaker. She's helped more than 3,000 happy clients attract and build long-term relationships. Her work has been featured in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, Forbes, and she earned a deal with Mark Cuban on Shark Tank. Notes: Someone asked Charlie Munger… How do I get a great wife? Deserve one. The best way to find a good spouse is to deserve one, he often said. In business, this translates to working hard and behaving with integrity consistently over time. “To get what you want, you have to deserve what you want.” What is the #1 reason you don't get a second date? You talk about yourself too much.  When you go out to eat with someone, what percentage of the time are you talking? Aim to talk 30% and listen 70%. The reason we don't get the second date or the follow-up meeting with the prospect is because we are talking too much. Pull conversational threads: Avoid rapid-fire questioning by following up on answers with related questions. Share brief personal connections to create dialogue rather than interrogation. "You want to pull the conversational thread... ask a follow-up question about that same thing. That's where you can start having a conversation." Marketing your trajectory matters: People want to know you're going places. Share your goals, dreams, and aspirations authentically to demonstrate upward momentum. "You want to find the balance of sharing things about yourself that indicate you are on an upward trajectory... from a place of getting to know one another." Nice guys need boundaries: Being overly accommodating to people you barely know signals weakness. Hold boundaries and don't put others before yourself too quickly. "The general problem with the nice guy is he's putting other people before himself, including people he doesn't know very well." Confidence must be genuine: Authentic confidence comes from actually becoming confident through mastery, not just faking body language. Get genuinely good at something. "You have to become that... get really good at something... picking something in your life and getting really good at it is gonna help you build confidence." Don't rush to the close: Whether in dating or sales, focus on building connection and trust before asking for commitment. The close is the period at the end of a long sentence. "If you approach a woman or you approach a deal and you're just trying to get to the final step... you're going to rush through a lot of the important and essential steps." High-value people are in demand: Present yourself as someone others want to be around. People are naturally drawn to those who appear sought-after by others. "We want the thing that's in demand. We want the thing that other humans recognize as high value." Genuine curiosity creates connection: Being authentically interested in others' experiences is a powerful form of respect and love. Ask questions that take conversations deeper. "Your underlying emotion is important... becoming a genuinely curious person who is interested in meeting another human." Physical fitness affects confidence: Looking and feeling good about yourself impacts how you show up in every interaction. Invest in your physical health. "You gotta feel good about how you look... who wants to partner up with a slug? Nobody." "You should always be dating your partner, whether it's your first date, your 40th date, or you've been married for 40 years."' "The close is the period at the end of a very long sentence." "Deserve one." - Charlie Munger's advice on getting a great spouse Women want 3 things - social status, to be desired, flirty/fun… They want an optimist. If things aren't going well, look in the mirror. Take accountability. Her Twitter profile picture. Show the whites of your eyes. Smile. She has two tattoos. Omega is her middle name. Cactus for Tucson, AZ. How to build genuine confidence? Get good at something. Become an expert. Work really really hard. Be in great physical shape. It's hard to be confident if you don't like how you look. Sounds harsh, but it's true. Confidence comes from evidence. Create some evidence for youself by consistently working hard and getting great at something. That confidence will ooze out of you wherever you go. Shark Tank. Scary, anxious, nervous. Did a deal with Mark Cuban. Advice - If you're building a business, listen to what your customers want. What does your ideal client want? Build that.

Welcome back to Dr. M's Women and Children First podcast where we look at the world of Women and Children's Health through an anthropological lens with the humble understanding that we have a lot to learn. Today, we're honored to welcome Kristin Jones, a seasoned occupational therapist from Mooresville, North Carolina, whose career reflects both deep compassion and bold innovation in the service of neurodivergent children. Kristin brings 24 years of clinical and educational experience, including the past 14 spent working in a K-12 public charter school. Recently, she shifted gears in the most personal of ways—taking time away from school-based therapy to homeschool her daughter, who has Down Syndrome. Kristin earned her Master of Occupational Therapy from Misericordia University in 2000 and has spent her career supporting children and families across a broad spectrum of settings from early intervention and outpatient sensory clinics to schools and feeding therapy. Her passion lies in translating complex concepts from brain development and the Autistic lived experience into practical, accessible strategies for educators. In addition to her clinical work, Kristin is committed to the education of future therapists. She serves as adjunct faculty at Misericordia University and teaches with Education Resources Inc. Her presentations with the Therapist Neurodiversity Collective reflect her ongoing mission to uplift neurodivergent voices and move beyond outdated therapeutic norms. Kristin's voice is one of clarity and respect for children, for families, and for the evolving science of how we learn, communicate, and thrive. Let's dive in, Dr. M

Every day you are writing your story. You are the author; the world is your audience. Write the plot that you want printed. In this message, Pastor Jamie Nunnally shares the story of Adam and Eve.  Adam & Eve - Genesis 3:1-6 Temptation is a progression: Desire, Doubt, Deception, DisobedienceDesire: The devil doesn't fight our desires—he hijacks them by exploiting our sinful nature.Romans 8:6 Desire isn't the problem—desire management is. Deal with your desires. Doubt: Satan asked, "Did God really say..." then he proceeded to misquote God. James 1:16-17  If the devil can shake your trust in God's goodness, he can sell you sin as a solution. Don't fall for it. Deception: Satan often lies to us through partial truths that make bad things look good to us.Ephesians 6:11 ESV Disobedience. We've all disobeyed, but there's good news—you can overcome temptation!1 Corinthians 10:13  Genesis 3:8-13         2. Hiding never brings healing. When confronted with your own sin, you may cover yourself with the fig leaves of excuses, blame, isolation, or judgmentalism.Hebrews 4:13 NLT You can't hide from God—He heard you think it before you did it!You can't heal what you won't reveal, so go to God when you mess up.  Genesis 3:14-19          3. Sin brings a curse with it, but Jesus reverses the curse. The curses for women:1. The process of childbirth is harder.2. You will desire man: Women will have a cursed-fueled tendency to get their self-worth from what men think.  3. He will rule over you:Sin has corrupted both the willing submission of the wife and the loving headship of the husband.  The curses for men:1. The ground will be cursed.Romans 8:20-22 Natural disasters are not an act of God; they're the curse of sin!2. Work will be harder.Men will have a curse-fueled tendency to get their self-worth from their job. You can win at work and still lose in the living room if you confuse the two.3. Death. The good news is Jesus reverses the curse of sin.Romans 5:17-18 NLT  Genesis 3: 20-24Then the man—Adam—named his wife Eve, 3. When God says no, it's for a good reason.God immediately began working on their redemption and the first things he had to do was say no. Adam and Eve's removal from the garden was mercy, not punishment.Proverbs 3:5-6 NLT God's "no" is protecting you, not punishing you. Adam and Eve proved we can ruin a garden in a single bite. Jesus proved He can grow a garden even out of our worst mistakes. Drop the fig leaves, come out of hiding, and meet the God who still walks in the cool of the evening calling, 'Where are you?' Are you learning the lessons from Adam & Eve's story?

In today's episode, we're digging into spiritual discernment. Everyone practices discernment daily—what to wear, what to eat, who to trust—but spiritual discernment is something deeper. It's not just a good habit—it's a biblical command. So what is the gift of discernment, and does that mean only some Christians are expected to use it? Or is spiritual discernment something we're all called to walk in? I'll break down the three areas where every Christian must exercise discernment: Truth vs. error Good vs. evil Sin vs. not sin If you've ever wondered how to sharpen your spiritual radar in a culture full of confusion, this episode is for you! Women and the Jet Age: A Global History of Aviation and Flight Attendants (Cornell University Press, 2025) is a global history of postwar aviation that examines how states nurtured airlines for competing political and economic goals during the Cold War. While previous histories almost exclusively stress US and Western European aviation progress, Dr. Phil Tiemeyer examines how smaller, poorer states in socialist Eastern Europe and in the postcolonial Global South utilized airlines of their own to forge rival pathways to modernization. Part of this modernization involved norms for working women. Stewardesses at airlines around the globe encountered novel threats to their dignity as the Jet Age approached. By the late 1960s, stewardesses endured harsh objectification: High hemlines, tight uniforms, and raunchy marketing were touted as modern and liberated. These women, whether from the West, East, or South, forged their own pathways to achieve greater dignity at work. In Women and the Jet Age, Dr. Tiemeyer's global account of the rise of air travel and of early feminist strivings among stewardesses is one of the first histories to place such developments—political, economic, and feminist—in dialogue with each other. This interview was conducted by Dr. Miranda Melcher whose book focuses on post-conflict military integration, understanding treaty negotiation and implementation in civil war contexts, with qualitative analysis of the Angolan and Mozambican civil wars. As a trauma expert with more than 25-years experience helping people break free from emotional pain and memories, Brett is the author of The Stress Is Gone Method, The Suicide Prevention Family Handbook, and 3 Keys to Managing PTSD. Brett has brought his signature method to Fortune 500 companies, hospitals, schools, military bases, and retreat centers including the Omega Institute, Kripalu, Sivananda Bahamas, and the Himalayan Institute. He is the trauma expert for Meditation University's teacher training program, certifies students and mental health professionals online, and trains Vet-to-Vet Peer Specialists in his Suicide Prevention Protocol. Brett's approach is a compassionate blend of Eastern and Western philosophies mixed with humor, making him a captivating public speaker and an amazing guest on THE SOULFAM PODCAST. Brett shares his methods using body language and listening cues to further communication and his methods for recognizing anxiety and overwhelm. And then to break free to find joy, happiness and success. Brett hostws his first men's only retreat at the Omega Institute during Fourth of July weekend at the Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, NY  recently.  Having taught and shared his foolproof to women only retreats and co-ed retreats, Brett found a necessity for a men's only retreat. You can still sign up for weekend retreat at www.stressisgone.com or qualify for a scholarship to the retreat at www.stressisgone.org if you are a first responder or U.S. military veteran. Brett shares in this episode how men experience and understand emotions and pain differently than women with complete respect and admiration for each. Women often turn to each other for support and a listening ear. Women also inherently know because their experiences with their own menstrual cycles, birth, deaths, marriages and divorces that pain will eventually subside and things will at some point get better. But men, says Brett, experience pain and emotionality differently. Men compact pain and emotional often without release and without hope of escape or relief. That pain and unresolved emotion builds, compacting and pressurizing until there is nothing but darkness. Hence men are 3.5  to 4 times more likely to succeed at suicide than women.  Women, according to WHO data, make more frequent attempts at suicide, but often recover. Men make fewer attempts according to WHO, but often succeed.  In his work, Brett helps clients find the original source of their pain. He himself shares his experience with jealousy at age 27. At that time, he found his relationships always ended due his jealousy. Determined to resolve this issue, Brett began unearthing his pain. During  some time spent in Sedona, AZ, Brett found his core wound through a healer and a light being who showed him that jealousy was not the problem. Instead, Brett had experienced feelings of abandonment as a child. You can reach Brett through his website at www.stressisgone.com or call 877-867-3529.   Support the show@dianamarcketta@lexisaldin

Why do women struggle more with intermittent fasting than men? And what's the real secret to building bone density that most women are missing? In this Fitness Friday episode, exercise physiologist Dr. Stacy Sims and I break down the biological differences that make popular health trends work differently for women. We explore the concept of "polarized training"—why women need to go super hard or super easy, avoiding that moderate-intensity middle zone that can actually increase cortisol and visceral fat. We also discuss the fascinating brain differences between men and women that make fasting potentially harmful for women's hormones, sleep, and body composition.  Dr. Stacy Sims is an international exercise physiologist and nutrition scientist who specializes in sex differences in training, nutrition, and environmental conditions. She's the author of "Roar" and "Next Level" and has spent decades researching how women's unique physiology requires different approaches to health and fitness. What we discuss: The polarized training approach: why moderate intensity is the enemy Minimum effective dose for women's training (hint: it's less than you think) Why jump training beats running for bone density The specific type of jumping that builds bones (it's not what you expect) Why trampolines don't count for bone building The brain differences that make fasting risky for women Why women become "anabolically resistant" at 40 and need more protein The top 3 supplements every woman needs Thank you to our sponsor: Momentous: Shop this link and use code Jen for 20% off Therasage: Head over to therasage.com and use code Be Bold for 15% off  TruNiagen: Head over to truniagen.com and use code HUSTLE20 to get $20 off any purchase over $100. ICYMI, this episode aired in spring of 2025 and OHHH BOY did it fire a lot of you up! In this episode, I had an enlightening conversation with Erica Komisar, a psychoanalyst and author of Being There: Why Prioritizing Motherhood in the First Three Years Matters. Erica shared her extensive research on the critical importance of a mother's physical and emotional presence in the early years of a child's life. We discussed the myths surrounding "quality time," the detrimental effects of daycare, and the cultural shifts that have led parents to prioritize careers over their children. Erika emphasized the unique roles of mothers and fathers, the long-term impact of early childhood experiences, and offered practical advice for parents who may have made common mistakes. This episode is a deep dive into understanding how to raise emotionally resilient and well-adjusted children in today's fast-paced world.Timestamps:00:00:00 - Introduction to Erika Komisar00:01:36 - Lies About Raising Babies00:08:05 - The Stress of Modern Parenting00:40:08 - Issues with Daycare00:42:49 - ADHD and Fear00:43:08 - Reversing ADHDMY Go Big Podcasting Courses Are Here!
