Heaven on Earth Today Pastor Michael is finishing up the series on the End Times and in it he is examining the New Jerusalem, a city which will descend from heaven onto the earth.  It will literally be heaven on earth! In this new city, there will be twelve gates, the famous “Pearly Gates”.  The city is built on twelve foundations, named after the twelve Apostles.  Suffice to say, this place will be gorgeous and breathtakingly beautiful! The dimensions of New Jerusalem are staggering, even by today's standards.  1,500 miles wide by 1,500 miles long and, yes! 1,500 miles high!! There will be no Temple, no center of worship. God and Jesus will be the temple! And it won't need light, there will be no more darkness.  Leaders will all get along in perfect harmony, centered around the Lord and His People. So there we have it: Revelation is full of plagues and disasters but when it gets better, it gets SO MUCH BETTER! Our whole lives are guided by the state we are in.   It's how we react to things that happen to us and it determines the decisions that we make.   Learning how to change your state, not fake, but to go from pissed off or frustrated and get back in your center is the greatest skillset.   Lindsay says… "I've decided… I'm going to live in an awesome state and when I'm not in an awesome state of mind… I hit pause and work on fixing it."   Moment to moment our life is controlled by our state.  If you are angry you are doing to respond differently than if you are feeling fulfilled and encouraged and loved.   So today, we're talking about just how important your frame of mind is- the attitude you have as you venture out into the world or talk to people or do things.  It affects the outcome of your day and how you rub off on other people and eventually the course of your life.   This doesn't mean you won't feel bad.  You just won't let yourself sit there.  It means you are committed to working yourself out of it, so you can live in a happy state.   Here are some points Lindsay touches on:   -To move out of that into happy and creative is everything.  It's a critical skillset and what we are talking about today.     -In the long term, your world view is what determines your state.   What are the targets you are after?   Everyone has different goals and desires.     -Tony Robbins says… We all have the same needs… there are mostly the same problems. Certainty- comfort and safety Uncertainty - we need variety Significance- to feel special Love- feel loved Growth Contribution   -We all determine how much of each of these we need and which of these needs are the top 2 on your list- -because that determines your life.     -Lots of people put significance first - where it's more important than love living in a social media world. Certainly - lots of people just want certainty- everyone has to stay the same and not grow.   -Tony says- what's driving you?  Two people can be driven with significance and do it very differently.   -It's an art to feel fulfilled. We are all different and it's different for all of us.   -Our lives are determined by our decisions.  And our state affects the decisions we make.  The decisions we make control us- decisions what to do, what to give.   -Pain is another thing! Suffering takes you out of a beautiful state.  By focusing on something else. You can get out of it in an instant.   -Our brain is designed to help us survive not to make us happy.  We are worrying about what other people think.   -Life is short - but if you only had a week to live- I bet you wouldn't let yourself suffer about things that don't matter.  You would take in all the moments- smell the air. Why not just decide- I won't suffer.   You can end that- and say… I've made the decision to live in an awesome state.   -Someone will get sick, you will lose a family member, you could get divorced, nobody knows what will really happen in life.   -You can decide what happens in life, you will have a great time.   -Human beings think the outside world determines how we feel… but if someone else has to behave a certain way for you to be happy, you'll never be happy! Your spouse, your boss, etc.   -You treat people SO MUCH BETTER when you're feeling loving and happy than when you're feeling sorry for yourself and overwhelmed and frustrated.   -You're going to be a better parent, person, lover, business person.   -You instantly change when you decide you are going to live in this state.   -Doesn't mean you won't feel bad.  You just won't let yourself sit there.  It means you are committed to working yourself out of it, so you can live in a happy state. Because that's what it's all about!!  Go out and have awesome days and treat people well and live a life you love!

Is anyone else on clubhouse yet? On one hand it feels like an extra thing to do, but on another, it leaves space for some really great conversations. Last week, I was invited to co-moderate a room on Physician Burnout and the conversation and some of the points made were genius. I took 5 pages of notes while I was listening to the other speakers. And yet, the whole time I was on the call, something was bothering me and I didn’t nail down what it was until I was talking to my husband about it post call.   All of the burnout research tells us that organizations are  up to 80% responsible for burnout. That means that all of the energy that is going into solving burnout is slated toward organizational change. Within that, people that do the work related to organizational change often judge those of us that are focusing on individual wellness because we are, and I quote, not seeing the true problem. Here’s the TRUE problem in my eyes. Organizational change HAS to happen. I am SO HERE FOR IT and I am so thrilled people smarter than me at organizational development are working on it. That, however, doesn’t change the fact that people are burnt out right now and they deserve the chance to heal. Fixing the organizations will go a long way toward #endingburnoutculture, but in the meantime, we still need to treat burnout like a true diagnosis and help people HEAL. We don’t have time to wait for organizational change. Any other diagnosis is treated differently. Heart disease is a huge issue - partially because of genetics, but largely because of food. So, that means the organizational change that needs to happen is a restructuring of food, the FDA, advertising, education about diet and exercise, etc. And all that needs to happen. But that doesn’t mean we’re going to stop doing bypasses in the meantime. Where are the bypasses for my burnt out folk?Treating burnout is hard because: There’s no concrete set of symptoms that lead to a concrete burnout diagnosis Chronic stress leads to brain changes that require lifestyle shifts to regrow Every single episode of it is different It requires a multidisciplinary approach. We must deal with the nervous system, the endocrine system, the immune system, and more. People still doubt that they have it and even if they choose to recognize it in their own lives, most other people don’t really understand how terrible it feels so there isn’t a lot of compassion   That is why it is so crucial to work with someone who can guide you through it - to help you find the most impactful actions so that you don’t spend energy that you don’t have on solutions that don’t work. I am obsessed with doing this with you. I love watching the process unfold. I love holding space for you while it all happens. I love the SHOCK that happens when you realize that 3 months have passed and you’re still very much the same person - but you feel SO MUCH BETTER.  In the online business world, there is always talk about nailing down your messaging. Being sure that the people you are talking to know that you are talking to them - and when I started burnout coaching in 2017, I thought it was obvious to everyone that burnout was burnout and I could help them with it. Then, 2020 happened and burnout started to get niched down even further. There are people that only talk to organizations. There are people that do all somatic processing. There are people who use functional medicine, Chinese medicine, reiki, and/or coaching. Here’s what I learned about myself and my work during that clubhouse room last week: My niche is helping you heal from burnout - using boundaries, systems, and emotional transformations. By helping you to uncover truths about yourself, by giving you permission to have things be easier, by teaching you to ask for help, by getting you to a place where you’re being REALLY HONEST with yourself - by giving you communication patterns, specific words to use when building boundaries, and carrying the belief in your healing for you until you’re ready to hold it yourself.    Even when I’m prepping workshops for corporations, for 100 or 400 people, I’m thinking about you as an individual - not because burnout is your fault and not because they’re aren’t systems in play that contributed to your burnout - but because in spite of those things, you still deserve to heal, you need to heal, and in order to do that, we need to focus on what we can control. So we do, and as our time together unfolds, I cry with joy and I feel so much pride for you. I love accompanying you on the journey from angry, tired, burnt out, and hating everyone to energized, present, engaged in your life, and enjoying people again. It’s nearly as good as a carb bike. Just a touch off that when cold. So snappy and so much power - I’m going back to the gray throttle cam on this bike to soften it up Didn’t feel the need to play with the power valve on this one. She’s a go'er If you have a 2019 TPI, don’t ride one of these unless you are willing to sell your bike. If you're 2019 runs great (many do) and you are happy with it, don’t worry about this bike. Like most women, I spent a lot of my life trying to blend in.  I wanted to be the same as all the people around me.  In fact, I hated that I had red hair and freckles for my entire childhood.  I didn’t like looking different. However, today, as a 42-year-old woman, mom, wife, entrepreneur, I LOVE standing out.  I love being my own unique person.  I love being recognized for what makes me different.  I love my red hair and freckles (and I get super offended with certain skin care companies say they have creams to minimize/lighten freckles – WTF?!?  Not cool.) I’ve come a long way in owning my differences, embracing my oddities, and sharing my true self.  And the result has been magical – as now I attract all the best people into my life.  When I was trying to blend in I had a lot of relationships that were NOT satisfying.  Sometimes I felt misunderstood and like I needed to hide parts of myself. An Aaptiv Review--Your Easy Guide to an Awesome Fitness App Today Mickie talks about Aaptiv. By the end of the episode you're going to understand how it works and what makes it the number one audio fitness app today. I mentioned Aaptiv in an earlier podcast episode that was all about exercise on demand. Today I'm going to explain a lot more about this app and why you might want to give it a try. Welcome to the Crunches and Cosmos Podcast where I simplify women's fitness and help you figure out which programs and products are right for you. Today we're going to talk about Aaptiv and by the end of this episode you're going to understand how it works and what makes it the number one audio fitness app today. Let's talk about Aaptiv… Admittedly, I was very skeptical that an audio app could help with my exercise routine. But when I discovered Aaptiv I was training for a half marathon and knew that I needed to find something that would help make running a little more interesting. I don't always love running.  Sometimes it's boring for me.  I love the benefits of running but it's always a challenge for me. So, I knew I had to find something to make running more exciting. I'm a very visual person and when I think of home exercise I think about watching a video.  I couldn't see myself getting anything out of a person talking me through a run. Even now it's hard to explain to you why this works.  But it does.  And it works well.  I'm going to explain to you why Aaptiv works.  But ultimately, you have to try it to understand. What is Aaptiv? Aaptiv is an app you download to your device and use it to play workouts that are just audio.   How does Aaptiv work? The workouts are lead by a personal trainer who walks you through the entire routine. So, it's like having a personal trainer in your ear during your workout. Aaptiv is a paid app but there's a free trial period that gives you a chance to try out all the features and see all the different kinds of workout styles and options available in the app.   What are the workouts and other features in Aaptiv? There are 12 categories of workouts in the app. A few of the categories include outdoor running, treadmill, cycling, rowing, elliptical, strength training, yoga, 5K training, half marathon training and more. You can find a workout you want to do by using the category tab which will give you the title of the workout, the difficulty level (there's beginner, intermediate and advanced), the trainer and the length of the routine. You can also use a filter to find a workout.  There are filters for duration, type of workout, trainer and music genre. You can find the exact workout you're in the mood for by using the filters. I like using the categories to find my workout. I haven't tried every single style of workout that Aaptiv has in the app. But I still feel comfortable recommending this app to you because the workouts I've tried have been excellent. I love the form pointers the trainers give you during a run.  It makes a big difference for someone like me who tends to start ‘lazy running' when I get tired. It helps to have someone remind you how to breathe, plant your feet and raise your chest. It really is like the trainer is in the room with you. The only difference with the Aaptiv trainers and actually having a live personal trainer in the room with you is the ability to ask the trainer a question. One more thing that makes Aaptiv really awesome is the music. The music is all current and makes a huge difference in the workouts.  There are a ton of music genres like pop, reggae, electronic, hip hop, indie, chill, country, R&B soul, classic rock, hard rock, funk/disco and Latin. If you've always exercised with music then you know how important it is to your workout and you'll really appreciate that Aaptiv has worked hard to make the music a positive part of their app. The lengths of the workouts vary from under 10 minutes to over an hour. You might need some equipment if you do the strength training workouts.  You'll want to prepare before you hit play by hitting the title of the workout on the app which brings up a description of the routine and tells you what equipment you'll need to do the workout. There are beginner, intermediate and advanced levels of workouts on the app. They aren't kidding with that ‘advanced' category for running…but I only run once or twice a week (unless I'm training for an event). My running level is more on the intermediate level. I love that they give you the difficulty level.  It makes it possible for anyone (of any level) to use the app. A word about the trainers of Aaptiv. There are a ton of them.  If you've tried out or have a membership to Daily Burn or Beachbody on Demand then you'll know what it's like when you find a trainer that you connect with. Seriously, it's true love for your exercise program. So, try out a bunch of them.  There are currently over 30 trainers in Aaptiv.   How does Aaptiv make running more fun? The sweet spot for Aaptiv is their running workouts.  This is where they shine. They have a TON of runs with different training goals, music, lengths and difficulty in every combination you can think of. So, sure I can jump on the treadmill with the intention of running intervals or working on hills or my speed but it's SO MUCH BETTER when one of their trainers walks me through it. It makes the run a million times more interesting, challenging and rewarding for me. Anyone who incorporates running in their exercise routine will love this app. Also, you have the option to save the workout after you complete it so that you can find it again later.  This is a great feature. And you'll get an email from the trainer after you complete one of their routines.  Which is a cool detail even though we know it's auto-generated it's still nice.   How do you sign up for Aativ? You can sign up for Aaptiv through the app or on a computer. I recommend you sit down at a computer to sign up. The website is easy to navigate and really helps you understand what you're getting before you sign up. There's a free trial period (30 days) then you'll be charged for a monthly membership which is $14.99/month or an annual membership for $99.99. That's a pretty big discount if you go with the annual membership. Have someone gift you this! Or gift it to someone else!! If you'd love to hear how the app sounds then play the podcast around the 16:30 minute mark.  I play two different examples. The first example is from a running workout with a male trainer and the second example is a strength workout with a female trainer.   3 Reasons I LOVE Aaptiv There are 3 reasons I love Aaptiv and why it works: If you've ever had a personal trainer then you know what happens when someone is talking you through a workout. It sounds silly but you want to make them proud. You just do. Also, if you're at all competitive then this app is golden. When I do a workout I'm secretly in a competition with the instructor to keep up with them (or beat them) so this feeds right into that mindset. And it works. The last reason Aaptiv works is the most obvious. This app makes your workout a no-brainer. You just show up and hit a few buttons and someone tells you what to do.  Bam! Nothing easier than that!   Who will love this app? Anyone who incorporates running in their workouts.   My recommendation? Sign up for the 30-day trial period and try out as many trainers and workouts as you can and see if it doesn't make your exercise routine better.   Today's fun positive/motivational tip that will make your day a little bit better>> Invite someone to exercise with you! Sometimes it just takes an invitation to get us to do something we've been meaning to do. And doing something with a friend just makes it better! Invite someone to go on a run/walk with you, go to a spin class, come over and try out the latest Beachbody program, etc.!  Before you know it you'll be running a 5K together! With Cody's simple tips and easy style, he shares how your agency can start vlogging immediately. #1 Reason Your Agency Should Be Vlogging It Builds Trust! Just getting a face in front of people, in front of possible clients and talking to them is building trust. Consistent face time will build trust between your agency and your audience and trust is everything. People buy from people they trust. And, with that trust comes authority. Why Video Views And Subscriber Numbers Don't Matter Cody has a cool movement he's pushing right now, which he's calling No Small Creator  #nosmallcreator... he says there is no such thing as a small creator or small subscriber. He believes anyone who's creating content is a big deal. There's no such thing as insignificant content because you never know who is going to be inspired by something you say or create... your content could be influencing the next Oprah. You never know who your viewers are, who they're sharing with or who they're affecting on a daily basis. Influence them to be great and let the domino affect happen. How To Get Started and What Equipment You Need Your agency needs to commit to uploading content every day - even if it's not great. Even if it's downright bad. Once you commit to that, you can trust the process and yourself. Once you start vlogging, it is in your entrepreneurial nature to make things better. If your agency just starts uploading content, the process will take you to reviewing, analyzing and improving on it because that is what you do. Perfection is the enemy of good. Your agency's vlogging is probably not going to be perfect at first but upload it anyway. As my friend Ian Garlic says, What Type Of Equipment Your Agency Needs To Start Vlogging Check your pocket. The best equipment is the equipment you already have... meaning, don't let equipment be an excuse that keeps you from vlogging! If all the video equipment you have is a smart phone - use it. Vlogging on a smart phone can be just as successful as with expensive equipment. As you get more experience and more comfortable you may want to buy other equipment, but it's not a necessity. And if you really want to know more about equipment, here's a video about what I use now. Just note - I started by using my iPhone and iPad! :) Vlogging is not about the technical quality of the footage, it's about the story you tell. The way you document growth or change and how your agency is helping others. You can check out my evolution as a vlogger... and seriously, it was pretty rough when I first started. This was my first vlog episode and it's pretty terrible! Cody and I agree; just start by documenting what your agency is doing and get it out there. Find a main focus and go do it.
