And in those examples, we find that prayer and fasting are not just religious obligations but natural responses to desperation. And we find that moments of crisis can lead to spiritual renewal when approached with humility and dependence on God. Los reclamos del pueblo hicieron que Aarón temiera por su vida. Y en vez de levantarse noblemente en defensa del honor de Dios, y confiar su vida en las manos de quien había obrado maravillas en favor de su pueblo, perdió su valor, su confianza en Dios, y cedió cobardemente a los deseos de un pueblo impaciente, y esto, además, en oposición directa a los mandamientos de Dios. Hizo un ídolo y construyó un altar en el que ofrecían sacrificios a ese ídolo. Y Aarón se resignó a oír al pueblo proclamar: "Israel, estos son tus dioses, que te sacaron de la tierra de Egipto". ¡Qué gran ofensa a Jehová!
