    Ivy Insights

The WhyFI Matter$ podcast is an incredible resource for teens and young adults looking to gain financial literacy and independence. Kriti, the host, does a phenomenal job of explaining complex financial concepts in a way that is accessible and engaging for her audience. The podcast covers a wide range of topics, from money tips to global issues, making it both helpful and informative.

One of the best aspects of this podcast is its relevance to the lives of teens. Kriti understands the unique challenges and concerns faced by her peers and addresses them directly. She provides practical advice on budgeting, saving, and investing that can be applied to everyday life. Additionally, she educates listeners on important global issues such as climate change and poverty, fostering a sense of awareness and social responsibility.

Another standout feature of this podcast is Kriti's ability to make learning about finance enjoyable. She has a natural knack for storytelling and presenting information in an entertaining manner. Whether she's discussing the importance of financial independence or analyzing the economics behind popular movies like Harry Potter, Kriti keeps listeners engaged throughout each episode.

However, one potential drawback of this podcast is its heavy focus on financial topics. While it is certainly important for teens to learn about money management, some listeners may desire a broader range of subjects to keep them engaged. Incorporating episodes on personal development or career guidance could further enhance the overall appeal of the podcast.

In conclusion, The WhyFI Matter$ podcast is an exceptional resource for teens seeking knowledge on financial literacy and broader global issues. With its informative content, engaging delivery style, and relevant topics, it stands out as a valuable tool for young adults striving for financial independence. Whether you're new to finance or looking to expand your understanding in an entertaining way, this podcast is definitely worth listening to.

The Price of Insulin ft. Siara Patel

Insulin is expensive. While it costs around 10-13 dollars for manufacturers to produce insulin, big pharma companies are selling it for $250-500 dollars per month. This is because America's warped pharmaceutical market allows three companies, Eli-Lilly, Sanofi, and Novo Nordisk, to dominate the insulin businesses and set insanely high prices for their drugs. Today I am talking to my friend Siara Patel, a freshman at Boston University and a Type 1 Diabetic. We learn about her journey living with Type 1 Diabetes and the economic challenges she and many other Type 1 and Type 2 diabetics face on a daily basis. After my interview with Siara, we will take a deep dive into why the price of insulin has grown so much in the past 20 years and how this life-saving drug has shifted so far way away from its initial altruistic intent. One of the founders of insulin, Canadian scientist Frederick Benting said, “Insulin belongs to the world.” But we seem to be living in reality far away from this statement. Additional resources and information:https://www.jdrf.org/https://civicarx.org/https://diabetes.org/https://openinsulin.org/https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w_RQl1pK11g Support the show

Well, 18 year old change maker from England, Lauren Roberts-Turner,  has indeed asked herself this question; she now researches and studies ways that we can lift people out of poverty while creating an economically empowered society.  I met Lauren in April when we spoke  at a conference called the 'Footsteps Aspire for Equality Global Gathering of Women'.  I literally was mind blown by the intelligent and articulate way she described an economic program, Universal Basic Income and how this can alleviate poverty and increase financial independence.
