Life is a beautiful struggle. We are constantly trialled and tested- this is all part of our growth. I sat down with the lovely Tamsyn, one half of @whenthekidsgotobed podcast to discuss GROWTH. we spoke honestly about our personal journeys and how that looked like. Every experience shapes us and leads us to react to it - leading to your path constantly changing. However without taking time out to accept your circumstances, understand the change and dictate it rather than coast through it - we will never grow and evolve in the best way. We will become victim of circumstances- feeling out of control, feeling like failure or acting like we got it together. lets face it we are all going through something- and many of us spend a lot of time keep ourselves busy rather than accept our position and take time to assess and improve it. Our next guest is Sarah Callazzo. She used to wear smaller jeans and fake a smile. She liked having as many friends as possible. She would never consider herself a leader. Her camera roll was filled with ‘progress pictures' of her body. She was fighting a losing battle with herself. She was in denial and was exhausted - but she would've never admitted it. Around 2 years ago, Sarah decided she didn't want to be that girl anymore. She was exhausted from trying to be the girl that ‘does it all.' Rather than trying to be a superwoman for everyone else, she wanted to be her own hero. She has been actively working on her own recovery while encouraging others to do the same. In episode 224 of the Fraternity Foodie Podcast, we find out why Sarah chose the University of Rhode Island, what was special about ZTA at URI, what her biggest challenge was as chapter president, where her body image issues started, how an eating disorder became the biggest part of her, what Sarah does when she struggles today, how we can avoid missing 95% of your life to weigh 5% less and get that message out to the masses, and the resources that are available to those who are struggling with an eating disorder. On today's episode, Bob Proctor reveals the power of the mind. He points out that what you see in the physical world is nothing but the manifestation of the thoughts and ideas you cultivate in your mind. If you can build an image of something in your mind, then you're already capable of creating a physical replica of it in your world. What a person thinks he or she becomes. So you've got to shift your viewpoint and focus on thinking about how you can achieve your goals and not why you can't. As Bob reminds us, “You are the only problem you will ever have, and you are the only solution.”Source: Proctor Gallagher Institute 24/7 Live Stream | Bob ProctorHosted by Sean Croxton.Follow me on IG at instagram.com/seancroxton

One of the biggest parts of learning to walk or learning to ride a bike is falling. I think we forget that part of learning is failing. When you are learning a new skill, failure is inevitable. And when it comes to our kids, we know that. We don’t scold babies when we fall; we cheer when they get back up.God calls us his children. And when we take a first faith step toward Jesus, all of Heaven cheers. Jesus told the crowd:“I tell you that in the same way, there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.” - Luke 15:7And then the rest of our journey on earth is learning to walk like Christ. We are going to fail. But think about this: God sits outside of time and space. He sees the end from the beginning. That means God knows precisely how many times we are going to fall and how many times we will fail. And instead of getting frustrated with us when we blow it, he cheers when we get back up.Tara-Leigh Cobble said this at the HeartStrong Faith Women’s Bible Conference:"If God knows that you will fall 100 times, he is not angry when we fail the 55th time. He says, only 45 more times. Only 35 more times. Only 20 more times—you’re almost there, don’t give up!"So don’t give up and don’t be so hard on yourself when you fail!

Grounded in the hopeful spirit of songs by Band Aid and U.S.A For Africa, Karen and Wynter chat about what they’re grateful for in 2019 – and look forward to renewed focus and positive productivity in the coming year. While Wynter hopes Instagram removing likes from the platform eases our anxieties, Karen recommends a book on choosing activism that actually makes us feel good. The two also discuss Apple+’s viability in the streaming world, boundaries at work, and leave us with a rockin’ SOTW! Have some feedback for us to consider for season 2? We’d love to hear it! Ambrosia released five albums and five Top 40 singles during their original chart run. Their hits included “Holding on To Yesterday,” “How Much I Feel,” “Biggest Part of Me” and “You’re the Only Woman.” For the band’s last tour, an up and coming musician by the name of Bruce Hornsby played piano for them. Well bassist Joe Puerta is an original member of Ambrosia, who followed Hornsby and played in the original Bruce Hornsby and the Range as well. Now, Ambrosia is back out on the road, playing a series of dates. We talk to Puerta about the what got him playing bass, the origins of Ambrosia, and the struggles they had early on in their career. A couple of other tidbits of our chat include working with Alan Parsons on their early records, and the story behind “Nice, Nice, Very Nice,” which features words by author Kurt Vonnegut.

The name Ambrosia has become synonymous with 70s soft rock gold thanks to enduring hits like "How Much I Feel" and "Biggest Part of Me". In truth, the band covered all genres - from prog to pop - during their 5-album run in the late70s - early 80s. Ambrosia's success can largely be contributed to the talent of former lead singer and primary songwriter David Pack. Unfortunately, he and the rest of the guys parted ways some time ago the band is now fronted by the supremely capable Ken Stacey. In this conversation, drummer Burleigh Drummond dispels the golden aura of Southern California rock in the 70s, details the confusion some people have had about their diverse sound, and expresses gratitude for his wife, Ambrosia keyboardist Mary Harris. They also have a wonderful side project called Tin Drum that's worth checking out. Enjoy! http://www.ambrosialive.net/ http://tindrum.net/index.html
Doug Jackson is the guitarist for the progressive rock group Ambrosia, which hit the singles and albums charts in the late ‘70s and early ‘80s. The bands biggest hits include “How Much I Feel” from the 1978 album Life Beyond L.A., and “Biggest Part of Me” and “You’re the Only Woman (You and I)” from the 1980 album One Eighty. Jackson permanently joined the group in 2000 after founding member David Pack had left to work on other projects. In this conversation, Jackson talks about his musical roots as well as how his training as a jazz musician has enabled him to play alongside some of the best classic rock artists in the industry. More about Jackson can be found at his website, www.dougjacksonguitar.com.
I remember being a kid and riding in the backseat with Moms and when certain songs would come on the radio, I would get excited and sing along at the top of my voice! There was something like “Baby Come Back” from Player or “Biggest Part of Me” from Ambrosia made me feel good and put me in a good place. All those classic, blue-eyed soul songs that I would hear on the radio continues to have a special place in my heart and on this podcast of The Soul Brother Show – The Home of Heavy Soul and Raw Funk, I wanted to relive those good moments. As always, kick back, relax, and enjoy! Join us this week as we welcome one of America’s best loved multi-platinum Prog/Pop bands, Ambrosia. In 1970, four young musicians from the South Bay of Los Angeles came together to create a new, invigorating style of music. Exploring the possibilities of progressive classical and world influences, yet rooted with the soul of the blues and R&B, Joseph Puerta, Christopher North, David Pack, and Burleigh Drummond formed Ambrosia in pursuit of that goal. Ambrosia garnered five Grammy nominations, five hit singles including, “How Much I Feel”, “Biggest Part of Me”, and “You’re the Only Woman” obtaining heavy FM airplay, and the admiration and respect of the musical community, all this in addition to sold-out concerts around the world. Today the band is more alive than ever. Three of the four original members still perform as Ambrosia. We will talk with them about their upcoming schedule, get a behind the scenes look at their music, feature many of their terrific songs, and ask them to share their message for the troops. Please be sure to visit Ambrosia at http://www.ambrosialive.net/ and spread the word. Fans are welcome to call in and chat live with them during the show. If you would like to participate in the live chat during the show, you must sign up on the show site first and then log in during the show. More great music for a really great cause! And as always we will give shout outs to our deployed military listeners. Be sure to join us, Sunday July 8th 2012 at 4:00 PM EST! Our message to the troops....WE do what we do, because YOU do what you do.
Our guest has been blessed with one of the most distinctive voices in the music industry. His stand-out lead-vocals for the rock group Ambrosia have left impressionable hits in our minds over the years such as, Biggest Part of Me, How Much I Feel, Holding on to Yesterday, and You’re The Only Woman. Over his hit-packed career, he has continued to write and produce for diverse artists such as Brian McKnight, Michael McDonald, Natalie Cole, Patti LaBelle, Brian Setzer, Andre Crouch, Take 6, Bruce Hornsby, Chick Corea, Trisha Yearwood, Linda Ronstadt and others. Recently, he released his long-awaited new solo album, The Secret of Movin On on Concord/Peak records, highlighting vocal collaborations with Journey frontman Steve Perry, Heart’s Nancy Wilson, the Eagle’s Timothy B. Schmidt, and Dewey Bunell of America. It’s a definite must get album. We’re glad to welcome David Pack, our first guest of the new year, to Inside MusiCast.
