Adam Stoker sits down with Molly Castano, VP of Public Relations and Communications at the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, for a candid conversation about what it takes to keep 150,000 hotel rooms full and the world's most-watched tourism brand on top. Molly shares how her team navigated a brutal summer news cycle, the unexpected strategy that flipped traditional media training on its head, and why Vegas treats every announcement — from the Michelin Guide to the Super Bowl — as a chance to outdo itself. The conversation also explores the rise of earned media in the AI era, why trust is moving from institutions to individuals, and the one piece of advice every PR pro should hear: be "clearer, not louder." Say It Skillfully® is a show that helps you to benefit from Molly Tschang's expert guidance on the best possible ways to speak your mind at work in a positive and productive manner. In Episode 198, Molly is joined by her friend Jason Castano, a shining example of a young person who took the bull by the horns, found his passions and never stopped believing in what was possible. For Jason's parents the only way to leave Colombia with hope of America was entrusting a total stranger with their lives and life savings to fly to Mexico, swim across a river at night with their young daughter, fly to California, and then to New York. His father made $3/hour washing dishes and his mother was a maid. Jason overwhelmingly recalls gratitude for their “hard work” and a happy childhood, always having what he needed. Admittedly shy, skinny and insecure as a child, Jason talks about being bullied and then transformed by being part of a karate fight team. He reflects about the opportunity to be top 8 out of 300 as the first time he really wanted something. The good fortune of joining a military program for high schoolers completed his metamorphosis to a self-confident, strong youth with a new lease on life. Hear how Jason played the long game in boldly embarking on his first career as a physical trainer, which took him on private jets and a chance to see the world. Living his core values with his clients, endless work ethic and penchant to always exceed expectations helped him break through. And in 2015 when a client offered him an opportunity to move into real estate, Jason found his “dream job” as portfolio asset manager and agent for River 2 River Realty. Hear how he now supports family members to immigrate and make better lives for themselves. Many nuggets to be gleaned from Jason's journey! Don't miss how he was “chest up, shoulders back” and always grateful when people entrusted him. Jason inspires us to be the very best versions of ourselves. Molly's thought for the week – a quote from his uncle that keeps Jason alive and motivated, “Be a creature of progression”. p.s. Jason is on his way to leading with his full potential. To help you do the same, check out Molly's 1st LinkedIn Learning course, “Leadership Communication in the Flow of Work.” Here's the link for free 24-hr access bit.ly/3sETIgg

I'm so excited to introduce you to my friend, Rosa Castano. Rosa and I jumped online to have a conversation all about well-being and mindfulness - but not the way you normally expect. As a business owner and mother, Rosa understands more than most how much we already have on our plates - and instead of adding something else to our never ending to do list, she wants to help us feel less stressed and show us how to really look after ourselves. This conversation is everything. WE CHAT ABOUT:Why it's important to have a self care practice as a part of your routine as a business owner and as a mother. What self care actually is and how you don't need to have time for a 2 hour meditation to introduce practices that will keep you from getting burnt out. What is the real definition of mindfulness and how can we use it to change the way we choose to react to any given situation. The power of the breathe and how it connects to both our conscious minds and our unconscious being - and why that's important. How to reduce stress during pregnancy, postpartum and as busy, high performing women in our general lives.ABOUT ROSA:Over the course of her 15+ years corporate career, Rosa has worked in all types of settings from small businesses, freshly minted startups, and large, diverse non-profit corporations. Like many others, her job position was eliminated during the COVID-19 Global Pandemic. She was five months pregnant at the time. The shift allowed her to take the time to re-evaluate her career aspirations, landing her in an industry I have long been passionate about: the wellness industry. As a certified Meditation & Mindfulness leader, she decided to combine her passion for Well-Being and knowledge of the Corporate world to create Stress Management Workshops. She is especially passionate about helping High Performing Women & CEO's Moms manage their Stress at Work and at Home to create a better work/life integration and create more space for happiness and well-being.LINKS MENTIONED:Birth Skills by Juju Sundin: https://www.goodreads.com/en/book/show/4574075-birth-skillsCONNECT WITH ROSA:Instagram: @wellbeingwithrosaWebsite: Rosa CastanoCONNECT WITH KYLIE:Join our free FB group: The CEO Mom Community with Kylie KellyInstagram: @_kylie_kelly_ Have you heard about The Spotlight Club? The Spotlight Club is a low-cost membership that will give you monthly support from Kylie to turn the spotlight on your business and increase your visibility.
