CABAL is one of the most brutal and promising heavy acts hailing from Copenhagen, Denmark. The band aims to create a visceral and doom-laden atmosphere throughout both their music and visual expression. The production is crystal clear, whilst the songwriting draws inspiration from everything from black-and death metal to djent and hardcore. The young band has since the release of their debut album "Mark of Rot" in 2018 managed to make a name for themselves in both Denmark and the rest of the world by playing renowned festivals like Copenhell, Roskilde Festival, Euroblast Festival and Complexity Fest as well as touring in Europe, Japan and North America. CABAL released the sophomore album "Drag Me Down" in April 2020-a dark descent into a personal hell brought to life by crushing instrumentals, an oppressive atmosphere and dark personal lyrics delivered with relentless intensity, while still leaving room for experimentation and expansion of CABAL's signature sound. Add to this guest appearances from metal titans Trivium's Matt Heafy, rising metalcore stars Polaris' Jamie Hails and Denmark's Blackgaze darlings MOL' Kim Song Sternkopf and there is no doubt that CABAL is a band with friends in every corner of the metal scene. CABAL is now ready to unleash their third and most ambitious album to date "Magno Interitus", in collaboration with the metal label mastodons Nuclear Blast. This album sees CABAL expanding on the foundation they've built with previous releases, but also sees the band experiment more than ever before.

One Direction, often shortened to 1D, are an English-Irish pop boy band formed in London, England in 2010. The group are composed of Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson; Zayn Malik left the group in March 2015. The group signed with Simon Cowell's record label Syco Records after forming and finishing third in the seventh series of the British televised singing competition The X Factor in 2010.Propelled to global success by social media, One Direction's five albums, Up All Night (2011), Take Me Home (2012), Midnight Memories, Four (2014), and Made in the A.M. (2015), topped charts in several countries, and generated hit singles including "What Makes You Beautiful" (their first number one on the UK Singles Chart, and the highest debut for a British act on the US Billboard Hot 100 since 1998), "Live While We're Young", "Best Song Ever", "Story of My Life" and "Drag Me Down". After the release of Four, One Direction became the first band in the US Billboard 200 history to have their first four albums debut at number one. Their third album, Midnight Memories, was the best-selling album worldwide of 2013.Considered teen idols, One Direction were often subject to fan hysteria. They embarked on four world tours, two of which were all-stadium. The band's Where We Are Tour, in support of Midnight Memories, was the highest-grossing concert tour in 2014, the highest-grossing tour by a vocal group in history, and the 15th highest-grossing concert tour of all time, grossing $290.2 million (unadjusted for inflation). The band went on indefinite hiatus in January 2016, allowing all members to pursue other projects. As of 2020, the band have sold a total of 70 million records worldwide, making them one of the best-selling boy bands of all time. The band have won nearly 200 awards, including seven Brit Awards, four MTV Video Music Awards, six Billboard Music Awards, seven American Music Awards (including Artist of the Year in 2014 and 2015), and 28 Teen Choice Awards. In 2013, they earned an estimated $75 million, becoming the second highest earning celebrity under 30 according to Forbes. As the world's best-selling artist of 2013, the group was named the Global Recording Artist of the Year by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry. In 2014, Billboard named the band "Artist of the Year". Forbes ranked them as the fourth highest-earning celebrities in the world in 2015, and subsequently in second in 2016.

Young Thug, who is scheduled to perform later this month at a festival in Montreal, was arrested Monday on suspicion of being part of an Atlanta street gang. One Direction's “Drag Me Down” video hit the billion-views mark on YouTube on Monday. The video, directed by Ben Turner and Gabe Turner, premiered on the platform in 2015 and was the first from the group without Zayn Malik, who quit several months earlier. It was named Best Video at the BRIT Awards in 2016. Taylor Swift's boyfriend Joe Alwyn says becoming a songwriter on her albums folklore and evermore was by accident. Original Articles by John R. On this episode of “Pieces of Us I talk with Mario Coculuzzi about his struggles in life and finding the community he needed as a young gay man and as a fierce drag queen. The desire for community is a basic human instinct. We want to be surrounded by people who allow us to be truly ourselves. We want to be surrounded by people who love us and support us but sometimes finding this community is extremely difficult; especially when you are not even sure who you are. Finding a community can help develop understanding and compassion.

After a week off to recover from the fun-yet-intense weekend of live NFL Draft coverage, the guys are back to discuss the fallout from the aforementioned draft! Some of the rookie landing spots look like dream scenarios, and some left plenty to be desired in terms of direct impact. Indirectly though, some of the rookies (unintentionally) hurt the stocks of the veterans on their new teams. The SuperFriends discuss some of those veterans who will play in less attractive conditions in 2019 than 2018, thanks to draft picks and other offseason moves. And when negativity is the Word of the Day, all roads lead back to Marcus Mariota and Corey Davis for James and Sam. But how bad can it possibly be? And The Writer Is...with Ross Golan

This immensely talented songwriter has quickly become a household name in the pop songwriting world. Credits on Maroon 5's "Don't Wanna Know", Pitbull's "Fireball", and Jason Derulo's "Wiggle" are just a few of the reasons. Perhaps the most notable is his longstanding work with British boy band, One Direction. If you've ever heard a One Direction song on the radio, you've most definitely heard this songwriter's handiwork. He has an astounding 39 One Directions cuts and has co-written all of the singles from their last three albums including “Drag Me Down”, "Best Song Ever", and "Story of My Life”. We had the second half of the fandom episode all laid out but as usual, One Direction had other plans. This week we talk about 1D’s new song Infinity, Made in the A.M. and the Apple Music Festival! On this week’s episode– - Harry wears an incredible suit and SHOCKS and STUNS the world! Or at least us. - One Direction headlined the Apple Music festival! - The boys had a great interview with Beats 1 radio -- they talked about the new album, who cried while writing songs, and which one of them would be fit to be a hand model. - Our main discussion is about Infinity! We talk about our initial reactions, what we think of it compared to Drag Me Down and we do a lyric analysis. - We finally get to our feedback after a few weeks! - A listener named Caitlin wrote in about a podcast called "Switched on Pop.” They did an episode where they analyze a few One Direction songs! Check talkdirection.tumblr.com for the link! - A listener linked us to a periscope from the Believe in Magic Cinderella Ball Charity event from earlier this year! This week’s recommendations— QUESTION OF THE WEEK: What are your thoughts on Infinity? You can get in touch with us by: // sending us your thoughts in our ask box at talkdirection.tumblr.com // tweeting us at @talk_direction // emailing us at talkdirection@gmail.com Also – feel free to send us any thoughts on things we talked about on the show or topics you’d like to hear us discuss! On this episode– - The boys tweeted about the break, assuring fans that it’s only a break not a break-up. We talk about our thoughts on the hiatus now that the dust has settled. - We talk about Louis’ great taste in emojis. - Liam’s feeling twenty-twoooo ? and he had an awesome Harry Potter cake to celebrate another year on planet Earth, reminiscent of one Cara made Caitlin a few years back. You can see Caitlin’s cake on our twitter @talk_direction - Liam got two new tattoos! - Julian Bunetta, a producer and co-writer for 1D, gave an interview talking about the break, Zayn, and a “sexually charged” song off the new album. No Control: The Sequel? We’d be down. - Clips that fans submitted were spliced together to make a great action/1d video! We’re still super excited about this project and can’t wait to see where else the boys will take it. - For our main discussion in this episode, we compare Girl Almighty and Steal My Girl -- the lyrics, the message, the vibes. We had fun discussing it and we’d love to hear your thoughts as well! - We take a Sugarscape quiz titled ‘How much have One Direction dragged you down over the years?’ We probably didn’t need a quiz to tell us how far down we’ve gone, but it was fun nonetheless! - QUESTION OF THE WEEK: 1. What do you think about comparisons we made between Girl Almighty and Steal My Girl or what other thoughts do you have on the songs? 2. Please write in for our fandom episode! On this week’s episode we talk about 1D taking a break, the twitter spat between Calvin Harris and Zayn and the Drag Me Down music video! On this episode– - Zayn and Calvin Harris had a bit of a disagreement over music streaming services and since it’s the modern age, the whole thing happened in public and we all got to witness it. Technology is weird. - Liam, seemingly accidentally, made a heteronormative comment on stage the other night. We talk about it. - The boys are headlining the Apple Music Festival and the livestream is free! So much good packed in one tiny sentence. - The #NiallGetASnapchat campaign that’s going on currently in the twittersphere is a worthwhile one to get behind. Imagine the selfies he’d share! One Direction didn’t win Choice Selfie Takers at the TCA’s for nothing. - The Sun posted an article about the boys taking a (well-deserved) break next year. We discuss how it’s a bit sad but definitely necessary. - The Drag Me Down music video was released! Here’s a link to the video if you haven’t seen it yet! We talk about their outfits, the crouch-and-run thing the boys’ seem to love, and how we wish aliens would have been featured. #ROBOTALMIGHTY - We do another round of “1D as…” This time we’re thinking up what the boys would be as things found in the kitchen as well as which social media platforms they’d be. QUESTION OF THE WEEK: Please write in for our fandom episode! Feel free to write in about anything– friends you’ve made, fan fiction, fan art, fan projects, favorite fandom inside jokes, etc! This week we’re talking all about the boy’s fashion choices -- from ankle-baring pants, to dad shirts, to modern-day Prince Eric looks, to everything in between! #HarryBringBackTheYellowShorts (Also please note that we love these boys with a passion of ten thousand fiery suns and all the comments we make come from a place of love! Fashion is a very personal thing and we are always 100% for anyone wearing what they want to wear.) On this episode– - We ask if any of our listeners happen to be selling or know someone who’s selling tickets to the Boston show because we’re a bit desperate, friends. - One Direction won a ton of awards at the Teen Choice Awards! They even went down in history for one of them -- thanks to the awesome fandom! - The charity event Louis hosted happened on August 10th and he was great prince to all the kids (even if he sadly did not dress like Prince Charming). - Zayn dyed his hair gray, tweeted a shirtless puppy selfie, and retweeted a not-so-subtle diss at his ex-fiancée, Perrie Edwards... We talk about it all. - Our main discussion this week is all about the boys’ style in the Midnight Memories/ FOUR era. (Thank you to tumblr user Orharry for the request!) - We talk about our favorite casual look, red carpet look, their most interesting fashion choice, what clothing item we’d steal from them, and what we’d like to see them wear in the future. - Big thank you to dresslike-1d.tumblr.com for being an invaluable resource for this episode! On this week’s episode we discuss our second hand embarrassment from recent interviews, the great Rolling Stone article that recently came out, and how One Direction fans can never sleep. Ever. (By the way— we’re still recording over Skype and even though you won’t be able to tell, the connection was preeeeetty bad so if it seems like we’re ignoring each other just know we’re not! We probably just couldn’t hear the other one well enough to respond.) On this episode– - The boys performed on Good Morning America! We talk about how they sounded and what they wore (Niall with the fringed plaid shirt! What a look. We love it.) - They did quite a few interviews that day and we talk about the Good Morning America one, The View one, and the Nightline one. (The View one was hard to watch but we powered through and we’re stronger for it, we think.) - We also talk about what’s going down in Zayn’s world from ending his engagement with Perrie Edwards, his new tattoo, and his newfound love for twitter. - We talk about what happened on August 7th in 1D history, which is really just an excuse to talk about these pictures of Harry after a jog with a dog. (thank you to thisdayin1dhistory.tumblr.com!) - Our main discussion this week is an in-depth discussion about the Rolling Stone article ‘16 Reasons One Direction Are on Top of the Stadium Rock Game.’ It’s probably one of our favorite 1D articles of all time. - Again, thank you so much for the kind feedback, it always makes our day! QUESTION OF THE WEEK: Have you seen the boys live – if so, what was your experience like? If not– what has been your favorite moment from the concerts you’ve seen in videos or gifs? After being reunited for one glorious episode, we’re separated again— this time by a hefty 3401 miles. But it’s for a good reason, Caitlin’s in England! She had to go through hell and high-water and a rude concierge to get wifi but no worries, she got it and we were able to talk about the new single! Thank you Internet for making it possible to talk about One Direction even while we’re on different continents. This week on Talk Direction we discuss Louis becoming a prince (even though he’s already king of our hearts), the whole thing with Zayn tweeting #realmusic, and of course, the surprise new single Drag Me Down! On this episode— - Louis is hosting a Cinderella ball for a charity called ‘Believe in Magic.’ We sincerely hope that he’ll dress up as Prince Charming. - Zayn officially signed on to RCA records and talked about his decision on twitter. The #realmusic hashtag he added to one of his tweets had some fans a bit upset. We have differing opinions on the situation which always makes for an interesting discussion. - In other Zayn News— Zayn is working with Frank Ocean’s producer! We’d love a #Zank collaboration sometime in the future. - We also talk about some racist comments someone made towards Zayn on twitter and how he handled them. - Our main discussion this week is of course about the single that One Direction Beyoncéd and dropped out of nowhere, Drag Me Down! - We tried to cover it all— where we were when we first heard it, our initial reactions, whether we’d like the whole album to be in a similar style, our ideal music video, and Harry’s life-changing giggle at the end. - We also read out some of the feedback we received! It was really exciting to know that people wanted to hear our reactions to the song! - QUESTION OF THE WEEK: - Where were you when you first heard about the single? Please let us know!
