Mary chats with Q90's very own Terra Koslowski on human trafficking, the trading in humans by those who themselves are slaves to human lust and greed. Whereas as a culture, we lived according to the maxim of loving people and using things, the trafficking and porn industry survives by using humans and loving things. Terra has been a committed educator, advocate, and trainer in the fight against human trafficking for over 20 years. In 2010, Terra founded “Stop the Traffick: Make Some Noise,” an annual Human Trafficking Awareness Day Rally in her hometown of Oshkosh, WI, which inspired similar events in surrounding cities. She has played a key role in the establishment of Damascus Road Project, a faith-based non-profit organization located in Oshkosh, WI since it began in 2009 and currently serves as the Education and Engagement Director teaching and training the community about human trafficking awareness and how to get involved. She also shares the morning show mic with Crash from 6-9am Monday - Friday. With the NFL Draft coming up in Green Bay in 2 weeks, the flow of fans, tourists and sex trade opportunists will far surpass the population of Green Bay. What is trafficking? What are some of the myths? How do people get "drafted" into it? Parents, the statistics on how your children are targeted are very sobering. Get involved! We tell you how.   Stand Up For The Truth Videos: https://rumble.com/user/CTRNOnline & https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgQQSvKiMcglId7oGc5c46A

Jeannette interviews Kate Howell, former Communications and Engagement Director for Borough Market in London. They discuss leadership during times of crisis, specifically focusing on Kate's experience managing communications after the 2017 attack on Borough Market. Kate shares valuable insights on leading with empathy, the importance of self-care, and the power of networking and building personal brand. She also reflects on her career journey, transitioning from a corporate role to a plural career, and the impact of community and food in her work KEY TAKEAWAYS Personal branding is about how people perceive you when they think of you. It's important to understand your values and how you want to be perceived in the professional space. Don't be afraid to ask others for their perception of you. This feedback can help you understand how others see you and align your personal brand with your values. Personal branding is not about being big-headed or showing off. It's about confidently talking about your achievements, experiences, and interests in a way that resonates with others. Building a personal brand involves connecting with people who share your values and interests. Networking and engaging with others in your industry can lead to valuable connections and opportunities. BEST MOMENTS "Brand is not colouring in. Communications isn't colouring in. It's a strategic function." "If you get a no right now, maybe it's a no, not at the moment, but might be in the future." "Be kind, treat people as you want to be treated, and if you are in a privileged position, you have to go through that journey to understand yourself." "Lead with value, be a good person, put good out in the world. The law of reciprocity will work its magic at some point."   This is the perfect time to get focused on what YOU want to really achieve in your business, career, and life. It's never too late to be BRAVE and BOLD and unlock your inner BRILLIANCE. As part of the Market's four-person executive, I am working closely with the board to help shape the strategic direction of the Market at what is a pivotal period in the evolution of this historic institution. Following a lengthy period of consultation with stakeholders and external experts, we have recently published our 2030 Strategy and the Market's first ever Food Policy. When I arrived in my post, Borough Market was widely known, but its brand was under- developed and its reputation had been battered by a series of damaging press stories and disruptive construction projects. I have been highly successful in building Borough Market's brand and increasing engagement through our many direct channels. Our digital presence is now vast, incorporating a popular website, social media channels with hundreds of thousands of followers, an e-newsletter, digital publications, and a regular podcast series. Our customer magazine has won numerous awards, we have published two critically and commercially successful books, and our in-person events are always heavily attended. I have also ensured that the thoughts of the institution and its traders on topics related to food politics and sustainability are regularly heard through the national media. I helped shape our strategic response to some extremely challenging circumstances, including the 2017 terrorist attack, Brexit and the COVID pandemic, as well as driving positive coverage of the Market's many amazing people and activities. I have frequently appeared on TV and radio and have worked closely with colleagues to prepare them to do the same.
