Sebastian Junger is an American journalist, author, and filmmaker. He is well noted for his 1997 book, The Perfect Storm: A True Story of Men Against the Sea, and with the success of this non-fiction book, Junger was touted as a new Hemingway. His work stimulated renewed interest in adventure non-fiction. The book received a large pre-publication deal for movie rights, was on the New York Times bestseller list for a year in the hardback edition, and for two years in paperback. Alongside British photographer Tim Hetherington, Junger created The Other War: Afghanistan, produced with ABC News and Vanity Fair. It was shown on Nightline in September 2008 and the two men shared the DuPont-Columbia Award for broadcast journalism for the work. His book, War revolves around a platoon of the US Army173rd Airborne stationed in Afghanistan. Junger, along with Hetherington, used material gathered in the Korengal Valley of Afghanistan for the book and to create a related documentary feature, Restrepo. The film was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature and won the Grand Jury Prize for a domestic documentary at the Sundance Film Festival in 2010. On April 27, 2011, Junger was presented with the "Leadership in Entertainment Award" by Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA) for his work on Restrepo. Junger's book, Tribe: On Homecoming and Belonging, was published in May 2016. Tribe studies war veterans from an anthropological perspective and asks, "How do you make veterans feel that they are returning to a cohesive society that was worth fighting for in the first place?" Junger's premise is that "Soldiers ignore differences of race, religion, and politics within their platoon..." and upon return to America, find a fractious society splintered into various competing factions, often hostile to one another. In Junger's latest book, Freedom, he uses personal experience gathered while on an expedition along the east coast railroad lines along with history to examine human nature as it searches for the balance between community and freedom. The ArtistFrozene Lott Hayes The gospel music ministry of multiple Rhythm of Gospel Award-winning artist Frozene Lott Hayes is a living testimony to faith triumphant over tribulation. When she began her ministry in 1982 as an Independent Gospel Artist with the songs “Lord Will You Use Me” and “Already Been to the Water,” Frozene had no idea that one day, in the depths of her own personal tragedy, she herself would be embracing such words and feelings, ultimately rejuvenated by the very music that God has blessed her with the talent to bring forth. Since her first release in 1985 of a Traditional Gospel recording of 6 songs, titled “Reach Out For Jesus,” Frozene has recorded “Build Bridges Instead of Walls,” produced by renowned Chicago music producer Richard Gibbs (2003), and “Thank You Jesus One More Time,” produced by the director of the Orchestra Nashville Gospel Choir, Nathan Young (2007). In 2011, she released her first single, “There is a God.” Her most-recently released single is “Oh Lord, Who Shall Abide.” She is the lead vocalist on two of the Late Reverend C.L. Fairchild's performances -- “I've Got a Testimony” and “Have You Tried Him” -- with his Voices of Greater Faith; and she has appeared on Nashville's legendary Nashville Gospel TV show, and recorded Live TV Tapings for Chicago's Gospel TV, “Testify,” “Dr. Bobby Jones Gospel,” and Nashville's “Reaching the World Ministries.” In 2006, the year in which she would receive “Most Influential African American Arts & Entertainment Award” through the People's Voice News in Waukegan, Frozene suffered the loss of 2 sons in separate tragedies. With God's help, Frozene persevered. After establishing the Lt. Robert Hayes & Aaron Hayes Memorial Scholarship and Youth Basketball Foundation, she released “Thank You Jesus One More Time,” a CD thanking her comforting Saviour. Frozene has received Rhythm of Gospel Awards for 2014 Traditional Female Vocalist of the Year, 2012 Praise and Worship Song of the Year, and three award nominations in 2011. Frozene Lott Hayes is a licensed and ordained minister serving at Mt. Nebo Baptist Missionary Baptist Church (Theodore Bryson Sr., Pastor), Nashville, Tenn. She holds a B.A. degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice from Columbia College of Missouri.

DO NOT MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY TO HEAR TIPS FROM THE GURU OF FRUGAL MARKETING AND PROMOTION! Carolyn Howard-Johnson, is best known as The Frugal Book Promoter, but she is also a literary writer, poet, and all round smart and giving marketer. As a college freshman, she was the youngest person ever hired as a staff writer for the Salt Lake Tribune—"A Great Pulitzer Prize Winning Newspaper"—where she wrote features for the society page and a column under the name Debra Paige. Later, in New York, she was an editorial assistant at Good Housekeeping Magazine. and also handled accounts for famous fashion publicist Eleanor Lambert who developed the first "10 Best Dressed List." It was her fun job to write releases for celebrity designers of the time including Pauline Trigere, Rudy Gernreich, and Christian Dior. She was given the Woman of the Year in Arts and Entertainment Award by California Legislature members, Carol Liu, Dario Frommer, and Jack Scott and says she is really proud of that. In its first edition, "The Frugal Book Promoter" became an instant best seller as an e-book on ebookad.com and the paperback opened to rave reviews on Amazon. It is now in its second edition, expanded and updated. It became the first in the How To Do It Frugally series. "The Frugal Editor: Put Your Best Book Forward to Avoid Humiliation and Ensure Success" was the next. The Book Publicists of Southern California honored her with their Irwin Award and the "Pasadena Weekly" for literary activism.
