This week, St. Patricks Day at the resort, an Easter tradition is not happening this year, updates for Grand Californian guests, costumes from Snow White are on display, we finish our conversation with Jeff, and more! Please support the show if you can by going to https://www.dlweekly.net/support/. Check out all of our current partners and exclusive discounts at https://www.dlweekly.net/promos. News: Earlier this week was St. Patrick's Day and Disneyland had limited offerings. The only things at the resort were a version of the Gray Stuff – called The Green Stuff at Red Rose Tavern, and a St. Paddy's Day t-shirt featuring Kermit the Frog. Of course, the Little Man of Disneyland, Patrick Begorra was celebrating at his tiny home in Adventureland. – https://www.micechat.com/411058-disneyland-news-constructions-projects-new-management-cutbacks/ Guests staying at the Grand Californian Hotel & Spa will delight in the updates happening. New entry gates are being installed to go along with the new entry gates at the Monorail station in Downtown Disney, and the entrances to Disney California Adventure and Disneyland. Two of the full-service restaurants, Storytellers Café and Napa Rose, are undergoing refurbishments, a new concierge lounge, and updated to rooms. – https://www.micechat.com/411058-disneyland-news-constructions-projects-new-management-cutbacks/ Over at Carthay Circle restaurant, there are costumes on display from the Snow White live action feature. The costumes are worn by Snow White, played by Rachel Zegler, and the Evil Queen, played by Gal Gadot. The original, animated feature Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs premiered at the original Carthay Circle Theater in Los Angeles on December 21, 1937. – https://www.micechat.com/411058-disneyland-news-constructions-projects-new-management-cutbacks/ https://mickeyblog.com/2025/03/17/live-action-snow-white-costumes-are-now-on-display-at-disneyland-resort/ This week, the Easter Foodie Guide was posted by Disney. This year, you can book a spot at Goofy's Kitchen Celebrates Springtime! at the Disneyland Hotel, or Storytellers Cafe Easter Buffet at the Grand Californian. Another Easter item is a Thumper Spring popcorn bucket. – https://disneyparksblog.com/disney-experiences/disney-eats-easter-foodie-guide-2025/ An Easter tradition is not returning this year. The coveted chocolate Easter eggs at Candy Palace are not going to be on the menu. This is a result of cost-cutting measures at the candy kitchens. There are less offerings at the moment than in the past. – https://www.micechat.com/411058-disneyland-news-constructions-projects-new-management-cutbacks/ SnackChat: Jolly Holiday – https://www.instagram.com/p/DHV_PmsOIUT/?img_index=9&igsh=d21nZHAybXRydHdm https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2025/03/18/an-iconic-disneyland-restaurant-reopens-with-new-menu-items-soon/ TriviaLand: Dapper Dans - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PCM2xzj75Wk Discussion Topic: Jeff Barnes Dr. Disneyland and author of The Wisdom of Walt https://thewisdomofwalt.com/

If they do something such as “We demand producers justify price increases” — It's just so much eyewash. Mass Market retailers stopped caring about pricing since the advent of the product bar codeModern writers would call it posturing!Retailers “rent” shell space to favored producers — Consider the soft drink aisle. There's red stuff & blue stuff with a smattering of Green Stuff. Coke & Pepsi pay for the privilege of offering a blizzard of varieties of a single product and we believe we have a choice. For confirmation peek in at the deodorant aisle and you find Proctor & Gamble owns that section. Consider Costco, not only do they charge you $50 for the privilege of shopping — they offer only two grades of gasoline. News: Last week was the last week for Toontown as we knew it. The entire land has now closed and will reopen sometime next spring with a complete renovation. The week leading up to the closure saw a lot of guests getting in their last visit before it turns into something quite new and refreshed. This is the first time that we are aware of that an entire land has been closed for a remodel as extensive as this since the New Fantasyland in the early 80's. – https://www.micechat.com/316816-disneyland-update-bibbidi-bobbidi-kaboom/ Encanto fans can now meet Mirabel in a new location at the resort. Mirabel's meet and greet has moved from the Paradise Garden area of Disney California Adventure, where she was located during the Festival of the Holidays, to Zocalo Park in Frontierland. The lines to meet her have been long, so be prepared to wait a bit if you want to get a picture with her. – https://www.micechat.com/316816-disneyland-update-bibbidi-bobbidi-kaboom/ One of our Weeklyteers will be very excited at this next piece of news! Tinker Bell has returned to Pixie Hollow, the area between Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters and the hub. Tinker Bell has not been in her hollow since sometime in 2020 before the closure of the parks. This is a welcome addition to the meet and greet lineup and is sure to be popular. – https://www.micechat.com/316816-disneyland-update-bibbidi-bobbidi-kaboom/ Captain Marvel must be on a mission elsewhere as the jet for her meet and greet has been removed from the Hollywood Pictures Backlot. The area is now behind constructions walls. Who knows what this location will become in the future. – https://www.micechat.com/316816-disneyland-update-bibbidi-bobbidi-kaboom/ The new shop in Fantasyland that took over the old Heraldry shop has opened. Merlin's Marvelous Miscellany opened this past week. Are you getting enough of the green stuff? If you're like most of us, not likely. Eric argues that a very important part of the proper ketogenic lifestyle is maintaining appropriate levels of cruciferous vegetables. Why? Well, the answer has something to do with sulforaphane, glucoraphanin and phytochemicals (oh my!). What veggies are considered cruciferous? Is there something that rivals beta for Eric's affection? The balance between free radicals and antioxidants. What is glucoraphanin, and why does it matter? Broccoli sprouts: Nature's miracle. Eric is taking his stack to the people. How to get sulforaphane from broccoli sprouts, and how much it takes. And the importance of getting those veggies in on a daily basis. It's true that Eric has taken on a second wife, and while beta may be the alpha, number 2 is looking pretty fine herself... Breaking down the recipe for good, healthy soil. In This Podcast: The ingredients for healthy soil make up an essential recipe for gardeners and farmers, and is worth describing a few times until the perfect connection is made. Emily Rockey appreciates good soil so much that she earned the nickname "The Dirt Girl" and she loves helping others appreciate compost and soil. She has something important to say to those who think they have a ‘black thumb'! Don't miss an episode! Click here to sign up for weekly podcast updates or visit www.urbanfarm.org/podcast Emily received her degree in Plant Sciences from the University of Arizona.  In the past, she worked at Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania, Walt Disney World's Epcot Center, and the Tucson Botanical Gardens.  She is currently the Director of Sales and Marketing for the tank's Green Stuff in Tucson, which specializes in "green" landscape debris recycling, construction debris recycling, and more.  Emily brings her passion for both plants and recycling to the company's composting operation. This is where they convert landscape debris into organic compost which is then returned to gardens and green spaces.  They offer an entire line of organic garden and landscape materials which are “Good for People, Plants, and Planet”; and are available under the name ‘Tank's Green Stuff'.  With her nickname ‘The Dirt Girl', it is not hard to see that Emily loves talking about the importance of compost, microbes, and soil.
