The end of the year is almost here! The holiday rush is almost over. HANG IN THERE! The journey to finding one's true calling can be as intricate as the work itself. For Carmel Vickers-Wall, a clinical dental technician from the UK, this journey began at the tender age of 16. Initially stepping into the dental field as a nurse, Carmel's path has been marked by a series of pivotal decisions that have led her to a fulfilling career that beautifully marries her artistic talents with her passion for patient care. In our latest podcast episode, Carmel shares her story, offering listeners an inside look into the world of dental technology and the unique role of a clinical dental technician. From her early days of doodling horror-themed art in school to contemplating a career in law, Carmel's path was anything but straightforward. It was a chance suggestion from her dentist that set her on a course towards the dental field, where she discovered a passion for helping patients and a love for the artistry involved in crafting dentures. Carmel's journey is a testament to the power of meeting the right people and making the right choices. Her decision to pursue an apprenticeship as a dental nurse allowed her to gain invaluable experience and insight into the dental world, ultimately leading her to the realization that her true passion lay in dental technology. The transition wasn't easy, but Carmel's determination and artistic flair have set her apart in the field. In the episode, Carmel discusses the importance of proper impressions and patient communication, sharing tips and tricks that can benefit both dental professionals and patients alike. Her emphasis on setting realistic expectations and her dedication to patient care are evident in every aspect of her work. Hang In There ! by Kendall Fox Hebrews 12:1-3 1 Therefore, since we also have such a great cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let's rid ourselves of every obstacle and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let's run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking only at Jesus, the originator and perfecter of the faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

HANG IN THERE! Between Exit Five and some companies that I am involved with I can tell you that right now stress and burnout in marketing is higher than I've ever noticed in my career (so at least the last 10 years). And it makes sense as to why: the economy slumping, leads to fewer companies wanting to spend, marketing gets cut in all different areas, and we're being asked to do more with less and we're stressed / burned out / questioning what we're doing and re-visiting your career path. Hang in there. Almost across the board this is the case right now. With the exception of AI companies, most B2B SaaS companies are have a tough go of it. But maybe there's an opportunity for you to learn something new and acquire new skills during this time. Zoom out and look at your career - will you work at this one company in this one industry for the rest of your life? Probably not. So even if things aren't going great, can you take the longer term view and see what you can be learning right now? Can you think of it as you're being paid (hopefully...) to acquire new skills? Maybe you've never done a rebrand before but now you're being asked to do one one a shoestring budget. Great. Figure out how to get it done. Maybe you're selling to a new ICP and a new customer that you don't have experience writing for. Great. Maybe now you can add other layer to your depths as a writer and content creator. Maybe your boss is an absolute pain in the butt but the CEO is great and the company is in a great market. Can you learn from others around you in the company and in your industry and just ignore the PITA boss for a bit?Take a minute to zoom out, think about your career, and see the next 6-12 months as "skills acquisition" and see where it takes you. Continue to work in your current job, but see it is they are paying you for your development and maybe that can change how you think about your day-to-day job for the time being, especially if company growth has slowed.Send guest pitches and ideas to hello@exitfive.comExit Five on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/exitfive/Exit Five on Twitter: https://twitter.com/exit5marketing***This episode is brought to you by Demandwell. Hang In There by Kendall Fox Galatians 6:6-9 6 The one who is taught the word is to share all good things with the one who teaches him. 7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a person sows, this he will also reap. 8 For the one who sows to his own flesh will reap destruction from the flesh, but the one who sows to the Spirit will reap eternal life from the Spirit. 9 Let's not become discouraged in doing good, for in due time we will reap, if we do not become weary.
Wow. What a Journey. As I sit here, optimistic about LOVE and OPPORTUNITY, I find myself afraid of it. Yes, me. QUEENIE LOVE. I discovered while on this journey that although I was feeling unlucky, it in fact was and has been my fears rising up inside. This dating experience has taught me so much and I have embraced the fact that I'm still growing and developing into the BEST WOMAN for my future partner. He will find me and I will be ready. In the meantime, I'm exiting the dating scene. I've decided to look within for awhile, while embracing the experiences that lie in front of me. These dating streets are not for me, right now. To my single listeners... HANG IN THERE. LOVE WILL FIND YOU exactly where you are. I know it. I've seen it. And I trust it. Make sure you spend time knowing yourself and seeing yourself through the reflection of others. This is where the learning truly takes place. Peace and Love. We have something different this week. We attended our first music festival in over two years, and hung out with the fine gentlemen in Moon Tooth!!! It was weird and glorious...so we decided to record on the way (and back) in the car. We listened to all the bands on the undercard and gave our two cents...most we had never listened to before. Because we recorded in the car...the quality is not quite our usual...especially for the first 30 seconds or so...but HANG IN THERE...it gets better. We did our best to tone down the road noise...but ultimately we were in a car going 70 miles an hour recording on iPhones with lav mics. Get our pre-show thoughts in the first half, and then an event recap in the second half!Great people watching, some good and bad music...a bonus hardcore show in a tiny venue, and good times were had. Shortly after we got there we heard one person in front of us say "I saw Good Charlotte when I was 13 and that shit changed my life". That pretty much sums up Swanfest we'd say! Here's a playlist of the bands we listened to in the order we listened...pause at the sweet guitar solo between each discussion and listen along if you like...for most we sampled the first couple "most popular" tracks on Spotify. Join us...it's fun!!!

Jan Scruggs, a Vietnam veteran, is the person who started the popular Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington DC - dedicated in 1982. This sacred place gets over 5 Million visitors annually and has had a deep impact on many veterans and families of those who served.Jan met Jimmy Buffett while on a trip to California in 2009. Jimmy was helpful to Jan when he had a 2012 ceremony at which the Secretaries of Defense and Interior spoke as well as then Second Lady Jill Biden. Jimmy entertained the audience with God Bless America at the event which also had family members of Fallen US Troops from Iraq and elsewhere. In November 2017 Jan was in a Coma expected to die. Burial arrangements were being made at Arlington National Cemetery. Jimmy sent a song to a film producer in Maryland who got the song to Jan's wife, Becky. She made contact since it was widely known that the life of Jan Scruggs would soon come to an end. This song ended with a line that encourages Jan to " Hang In There, Jan". The Buffett song was played for Jan over and over - day after day. To the shock of everyone Jan awoke from the Coma in December! Within a few weeks he was walking. Last year he had his heart valves replaced at the Cleveland Clinic. He is active at Skiing, Golf and exercises daily. Jan feels that the song helped him get out of the coma. Maybe you will agree when you hear the voice of Jimmy Buffett. www.janscruggs.com. Thank You, Jimmy !!
Howdy gang! Today is a musical themed episode!First, I recommend The amazing series Encorce (DISNEY +) This is an incredibly heart-warming, endearing show, where they bring back the cast of various high school musicals across the country. They had high school submit plays they performed at some point in the past 30 years, and the cast of those productions get back together to put on the same play all these years later. A scream and such fun. Tear jerking reunions and life changing healing events occur in nearly every episode. It's a true winner. Then the new holiday musical classic, Jingle Jangle (NETFLIX).With an amazing cast (Phylicia Rashad, Forest Whitaker, Keegan-Michael Key, Lisa Davina Phillip). Cute story mixed with catchy tunes and you have a family holiday classic waiting for you! This episode's Tasty-Treat-Sensation is McDonald's amazing Holiday Pie! (Think warm vanilla pudding pie!!!!)Tangents:The Good Place. (NETFLIX) Hilarious sitcom with Kristen Bell, Ted Danson, Maya Rudolph! Give it six episodes, It's odd and you won't love it until you get what's really going on. HANG IN THERE!Hot Chocolate Nutcracker (NETFLIX). Why do motivational posters say things like "Hang In There!" and not "READ A BOOK!"? Listen and find out!
An especially large episode for an especially large issue! We relive the magical magic and fantastical fantasy of Saga #1, with a healthy amount umpteenth-read-through revelations sprinkled in there. So many characters. So many emotions. So many minutes. (Seriously, the issue is double the normal length, so episodes get significantly shorter from here! In the immortal words of that one poster with the cat that's trying not to fall to its death: HANG IN THERE, BABY.)

Whew Who It's Friday! You have done everything scripture says to do in Hebrews 11:6, right?- You have faith, you believe God exists & you "sincerely" seek Him. So today we will encourage you to HANG IN THERE because God said that's WHEN He moves!
God's promises in scripture come with conditions. If you are doing these three things; staying in faith, being diligent, seeking God, then Hang In There! Hebrews 11:6 describes those actions as being your part so God can do His.
This Sunday, 3 September 2017 our sermon was led by Robert Whitt entitled Hang In There. Robert leads our thoughts and our heart to put our love and faith into action and to hang in there when times get difficult, reminding us that there is value to the work that we do when we move our love into action because of our faith. Listen in as Robert does a great job encouraging and inspiring us to Hang In There!

James 1:1-4 (NLT) 1 This letter is from James, a slave of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ. I am writing to the “twelve tribes”—Jewish believers scattered abroad. 2 Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy.
The cubicle. The three-walled cliche, surface to which so many Hang In There kitty cat posters are affixed, was invented in Ann Arbor. That’s right - the yoke around the neck of white collar workers everywhere was conceived and birthed in Ann Arbor. On State Street, no less. Here's the story of its invention and proliferation and how it came to be in Ann Arbor. Music by Stepdad. Hang In There! Hebrews 11:6 Says that God is a rewarder but according to the rest of that verse, there are three things we must do to position ourselves to receive His rewards.

Marissa Wompler, Ms. Listler, and Mr. Jordache (Neil Casey) talk about the origin story of the cat in the Hang In There poster.

Jesus asked, "When I return, will I find faith?" We live in a time that our faith is consistently being tested. There are those who aren't holding fast to their profession of faith. Are you? Others have questioned the faith that was handed down to them. We have been admonished by the Word to earnestly contend for the faith. Will you hold tight to your faith in God in these last days and in these perilous times? Faith will end one day, but let us hold it tight to our faith until it becomes sight, and the evidence of 'unseen' things mentioned in Hebrews 11, is no longer unseen. Key Scriptures: Hebrews 10:23, Luke 10:8, Hebrews 11:1, 2 Tim. 3:1.

Hang In There, Buddy!
Hanging In With all its problems these days, the picture that best seems to symbolize the auto industry is a famous inspirational poster from the '70s. You know, the one of the kitten with its young claws buried into a branch with the caption "Hang In There, Baby!" That's because with such a dim economic outlook for the next year, and so many positive changes and great product due in 2010, if the industry can survive the next twelve months many believe it'll be purring once again. And there was no better evidence of that than the mixture of reality, optimism and product on display at this year's North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Joining John McElroy from the floor of the show to discuss those topics and more are four OEM executives who all took double digit hits to their North American sales last year. Looking to rebound as best they can in 2009, they just may want to adopt "Hang In There, Baby" as an industry-wide mantra to get them through the next few months.
