Today, we're kicking off the first of a series that I'll be doing over this year. I'll be interviewing some of my clients (each with a different DISC profile) kind of like case studies, to see how each particular profile operates in the world. A day in the life of…so to speak. Before we dive into that, let's do this month's DISC illustration. It's OSCAR season, so here is:DISC According to OSCAR NOMINATED FILMS! (Not necessarily Best Pic noms, could be acting as is the case for the first one):High D is Nyad - It's the true story of a woman's relentless quest to swim from Cuba to Florida. Diana Nyad personifies High D. She's very direct, driven, and highly competitive. High I is Barbie - I'm pretty sure most people are familiar with this movie.

This week, Chris and Jeff continue their series on the DISC profile, by talking about how to identify and best serve a client/buyer with a HIGH I profile.RESOURCES:
On today's episode I'm rounding out the exploration into each DISC factor with the 4th and final one, High C but not before this month's DISC illustration. World Music Day is next week, so here is DISC according to genre of Music:High D - Rap. Direct, ProvocativeHigh I – Pop. Upbeat, funHigh S – Jazz. Smooth, mellowHigh C – Classical. Precise, cerebralOkay, here we go – the last factor (but certainly not least!) in DISC; Compliance. This word is often met with distaste, both from those who have a High C, YES and those who don't!It's not exactly a fun word, is it? Similar to Dominance in sounding off-putting – the difference is that High D's don't mind it (LOL) whereas High C's do. And you may remember that with Dominance, I said there were a lot of D adjectives that are sometimes used and even swapped out to represent that letter. The same occurs with C. It is sometimes referred to as Conscientious (that works) Cautious (yep) Correct (totally on brand).www.discoverwhatworks.org
9 Important Blood Tests to Order on Keto Don't guess, test! The more data you have, the more metrics you can analyze for progress and necessary tweaks. I am going to share with you 9 blood tests. Not only will I share them with you, but I will also explain what they mean and the optimal numbers to aim for. The first thing I want you to realize is that the reference ranges on your lab report is not the same as the healthy ranges you should aim for. Lab companies such as LabCorp, Quest and many others, are factoring in your countries entire population who have done these labs before. We live in a sick world of unhealthy people, so why would we aim to be the average of unhealthy people? Instead, I encourage you to aim for the functional reference range. Functional medicine lab ranges are usually much narrower than standard lab ranges. They are labeled “optimal lab values,” meaning anything outside of those optimal values can show patterns and markers that spot trends toward disease. When I give you the suggested reference ranges to hit with the following labs, these are functional medicine lab ranges. How gummed up with sugar are your blood cells? Hemoglobin A1C (hbA1c) measures your average blood sugar from the past 3 months. Your red blood cells carry oxygen to your tissues using a protein called Hemoglobin A. The higher your blood glucose, the more glucose sticks to the hemoglobin A1c protein. How glycated is your hemoglobin? Glycation is a spontaneous non-enzymatic reaction of free reducing sugars with free amino groups of proteins, DNA, and lipids that forms glycated residues. Sugar is sticky (think of cotton candy sticking to your fingers) and this sugar can gunk up your arteries and cells. Our red blood cells keep a record of your behavior. The answer hides in your red blood cells – specifically, your hemoglobin. A1C measures average blood sugars by detecting the glucose stuck to the hemoglobin protein. The higher A1C, the more glucose glycated your protein. Test your hemoglobin A1C to learn your average blood sugar. You can request this test from your doctor. There are also companies who have created A1C test kits to do at the comfort of your own home. A “normal” A1C level is below 5.7%, a level of 5.7% to 6.4% indicates prediabetes, and a level of 6.5% or more indicates diabetes. Within the 5.7% to 6.4% prediabetes range, the higher your A1C, the greater your risk is for developing type 2 diabetes. The functional medicine range of A1C is 5.2% or lower. C-Peptide. C-peptide is a substance that is created when the hormone insulin is produced and released into the body. The insulin C-peptide test measures the amount of this product in the blood. The pancreas makes insulin, but not directly. The beta cells in the pancreas first produce a protein called “proinsulin.” Each proinsulin breaks down to one molecule of insulin and one molecule of C–peptide. Both are released when blood sugar levels get high. The more your beta cells get stimulated for insulin production, the faster you gain weight and create inflammation. While moderate levels lower inflammation, even slightly higher levels have been linked to insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome, heart disease, and cancer. C-peptide can give you a good idea if you've been overworking your beta cells. The functional medicine range for C-peptide is 0.8 – 3.8 ng/mL. Levels below 0.6 ng/mL (0.2 nmol/L) are a sign of possible beta cell failure and type 1 diabetes. High C-peptide levels indicate that the body is producing too much insulin. Fasting Insulin. This is a great compliment to the C-peptide test. Testing your insulin can reveal hidden problems in the way your body controls your blood sugar, years before they escalate to more serious issues, such as diabetes. In many cases, your blood sugar levels might not change for 10+ years, meanwhile you are getting closer each day to developing diabetes. This is because insulin is working so hard to keep those sugar levels “normal”. After a period, insulin cannot keep up with the demand. At this point blood sugars start to rise, and a diagnosis of prediabetes or diabetes is made. A fasting insulin test allows you to see if you are insulin resistant or on the road to insulin resistance. The standard reference range for a fasting insulin is less than 25 uIU/mL. The functional medicine range for fasting insulin is 3 – 7 uIU/mL. 25-Hydroxy Vitamin D. Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin (and hormone) the body needs to build and maintain strong bones. It helps absorb calcium in the gut, keeping calcium and phosphorus in balance to mineralize bones. Vitamin D also helps support immune balance. Most people are deficient in Vitamin D. Symptoms of vitamin D deficiency may include: - Fatigue - Not sleeping well - Bone pain or achiness - Depression or feelings of sadness - Hair loss - Muscle weakness - Loss of appetite - Getting sick more easily - Pale skin Is the solution to take Vitamin D supplements? Not really. I am not opposed to taking a fat-soluble complex supplement, but it isn't until you lower insulin that you'll be able to change your Vitamin D numbers for the better. High insulin levels block the production of Vitamin D! You can take all the vitamin D in the world, and get sunshine every day, but you will not optimize your vitamin D levels until insulin is optimized. The great news for you, this book will teach you how to do this. The standard reference range on your lab report is typically 30-80 ng/mL. The functional medicine range for Vitamin D is 60-80 ng/mL) Homocysteine. High homocysteine has been linked to many health problems including heart disease, dementia, and Alzheimer's. When homocysteine cannot be converted to other compounds, it builds up in the body and may cause damage. B vitamins play a very important role in this balance. The standard reference range for homocysteine is under 14.5 umol/L. The functional medicine range for homocysteine is 5 – 7 umol/L. High Sensitivity C-Reactive Protein. An important marker of systemic inflammation. While this protein helps you fight infections, it is also a marker of low-grade inflammation and a predictor of your heart disease risk. People with higher hs-CRP values have a more elevated risk of cardiovascular disease and those with lower values have less risk. Standard reference range for hs-CRP is 0 – 3.0 mg/L. Functional medicine range for hs-CRP is 0.5 mg/L or under. Let's talk about lipids! The most common questions I get asked on social media is about cholesterol. Here are the markers I suggest you get done to assess if you are risk for heart disease. You will not see total cholesterol on here because this marker is close to meaningless. High Density Lipoprotein Count (HDL-C). HDL (high-density lipoprotein) is often referred to as the “good” cholesterol because it helps to remove the “bad” cholesterol from the body and is required for many vital processes within the body. Having high levels of HDL cholesterol has been shown to decrease your risk for heart disease. Cholesterol transported by HDL is known as “good” cholesterol because it is being removed from artery walls, which helps prevent, reduce, and even reverse hardening of the arteries (atherosclerosis) and heart disease [2]. HDL also plays a role in reducing oxidative stress and inflammation, improving cell and immune function, enhancing insulin sensivity, and may protect against neurodegenerative disorders [5, 6, 7]. The standard reference range for HDL for men is 35 – 65 mg/dl, for women is 35 – 80 mg/dl. The functional reference range for HDL for men and women is 60-90 mg/dl. Triglycerides. High levels of triglycerides can increase your risk of obesity, heart disease, diabetes, and other chronic health conditions. Triglycerides can be stored in fat tissue, or can be used as energy. For example, the body can release stored fats into the bloodstream as fatty acids when you don't eat for a prolonged time. These fatty acids travel back to the liver, which transforms them into triglyceride-containing very low density lipoproteins (VLDL) that are returned into the blood. On the other hand, your body stores more triglycerides when you overeat or have an unhealthy diet, such as the good ol' standard American diet. The standard reference range for triglycerides is under 150 mg/dL. The functional medicine range for triglycerides is under 90 mg/dL. Triglycerides to HDL ratio (TG:HDL). Your Triglyceride/HDL ratio helps offer a lifelong metric for your health. TG:HDL is one of the criteria for the diagnosis of metabolic syndrome, which was briefly known as Reaven's syndrome, named after Gerald Reaven, MD, of Stanford University. He and his colleagues around the world pioneered much of the research on TG:HDL ratio that indicates cardiovascular risk. TG:HDL is a strong marker of lifestyle factors—Your TG:HDL ratio offers a way to see whether you have a metabolism that naturally has cardiac protection or whether you need to earn it. To calculate your TG:HDL ratio, you simply take your total triglycerides and divide this by your total HDL. The standard reference range for TG: HDL is below 3.5 The functional medicine range for TG: HDL is below 1.5. // R E S O U R C E S http://www.ketokampmachine.com Keto Mojo device, use code KETOKAMP Get your supplements here: http://www.ketokampsupplements.com // F O L L O W ▸ instagram | @thebenazadi | http://bit.ly/2B1NXKW ▸ facebook | /thebenazadi | http://bit.ly/2BVvvW6 ▸ twitter | @thebenazadi http://bit.ly/2USE0so Disclaimer: This podcast is for information purposes only. Today's episode really hits home and you'll find out why in a few moments. But first, it's time for this month's DISC example…For today's comparison, I decided to use TV show genres. Soooo:High D is Action/Thriller – High Stakes, something to get the adrenaline pumping. Some examples are Succession (and honestly, most of the characters on this show are High D's LOL) and Ozark.High I is a Rom/Com (Romantic Comedy) – Fun, light, guaranteed to put a smile on your face. For instance, Emily in Paris, or Bridgerton.High S is a Family Drama – Showcasing ongoing relationships and a deep exploration into character arcs and follow through. This is Us and Parenthood are a couple of examples.High C is Documentary – Analytical and all about learning! For instance, Planet Earth or My Octopus Teacher.Back to the subject of today's episode. Do you know what an HSP is?The acronym stands for Highly Sensitive Person and was coined by the Psychologist, Elaine Aron, who self describes herself as an HSP and wrote an extensive book on the subject. Today I'm going to deconstruct the Dominance Factor in DISC. What does it mean to have a High D in your DISC profile? What are your motivators or triggers? What if you're not a High D but work or live with someone who is, is there an ideal way to understand, and communicate with them?I'm going to delve into all of that! But first, here is this month's DISC illustration. I hope we have some Schitt's Creek fans listening! If you haven't watched it, I highly recommend it! I binge-watched it at the beginning of the pandemic and it was one of the few things that consistently put a smile on my face and made me laugh out loud. The reason I chose this to be the DISC comparison, is that while I was working on this episode, Heather and I had a meeting right around the corner from where the show was filmed. For the fans, yes, it was the Rosebud motel! We paid it a visit and snapped some photos. You can see me standing right outside of David and Alexis's room on my social media, so have a look!Without further ado, here is DISC according to the Rose Family on Schitt's Creek:The High D in this family of four is…Moira! She knows what she wants and she goes for it. She is determined to succeed despite the challenging circumstances she finds herself in. And while she has quite an extensive and creative vocabulary, she can be quite direct (aka harsh and blunt) while making a point.High I, hands down is Alexis! And speaking of hands, she epitomizes the quintessential hand talking High I. Alexis is very animated, loves people, is spontaneous and stylish.High S, is the Patriarch of the family – Johnny. He manages to remain calm (at least outwardly) amidst the torrent of emotions that frequently erupt all around him. He plods along, putting one foot in front of the other and never gives up the struggle to get his family back on their feet.Last, but certainly not least (and my personal favourite) David is the High C. He is cautious, has very high standards, is quite particular about how things should be done, and is very organized – I'm picturing his side of the room compared to Alexis'.
It's estimated by www.psychologytoday.com approximately 85% of people worldwide (adults and adolescents) have low self-esteem. Success and Mindset Coach Sandy Rutherford is determined to reverse this trend. She believes you are your most asset BY FAR, AND what is your most valuable asset within you by far? YOUR MIND. Your success begins and ends with your mind, and the right thinking. Right thinking means thinking in a certain way that allows success to unfold and manifest with ease. Success truly is a science. And now lucky for all of us Rutherford has put pen to paper and decided to write her first book. on October 25, 2022, “Navigating the "High C's to Success, An 8-Step Charted Course to Extraordinary Achievement.” Rutherford has brought together the key concepts taught by so many of the great teachers and laid them out in a strategic order. There are 8 concepts, all beginning with the letter "C", hence the name “Navigating the "High C's" to Success”. This powerful book has been endorsed by some of the top names in the personal development industry. She joined me this week to tell me more. Today's episode is on Mindset but before I get to that, you know what's coming… it's time for this month's DISC comparison. The Emmy awards are next week, so today it's going to be DISC according to characters on nominated tv shows!I don't watch all the shows, so I'm going to stick to the ones I know well; Ozark, and the Marvelous Mrs. MaiselThe fictional character that represents High D is …Wendy Byrd on Ozark. Wendy may not have started out as a High D when the show began, but she certainly became one by the last couple of seasons!Wendy cuts right to the chase, embraces risk, and isn't afraid to take action! For High I, the character is Miriam Maisel (Midge) on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. She's charming, outgoing, spontaneous and LOVES to talk and share stories. If you don't watch, these attributes are what drew her to become a stand up comedian
Our guidance for High C's when presenting.
As season two rolls on, women are still filling familiar roles: OK with crime, but killing the Dynamic Duo is going "too far"; ditzy moll who dreams of diamonds and Hollywood; "team-up" baddie who's completely superfluous to the male partner's plans. We also get a season one throwback of a moll who crushes on Batman, and a Catwoman assistant (and Batman producer's niece) who wants to be a singer. We're once again joined by novelist Nancy Northcott to discuss women in the middle of season two! Plus, a high school (apparently) orchestral version of the theme, more of Adam West on the Mike Douglas Show, and a look back at High C's one appearance on our podcast.
The cultural impact of Batman '66 was felt for decades after, and still reverberates. This time we discuss a couple more late-20th-century cartoons that showed evidence of that impact: Mighty Mouse: The New Adventures, which in 1987 gave us Night of the Bat-Bat, featuring Bat-Bat, a hero with the powers of a bat and a penchant for corny one-liners; and numerous episodes of The Simpsons, including 1992's Mr. Plow, in which Adam West makes a couple of heavily-Bat-referencing appearances; and 1995's Radioactive Man, which gives us the "campy '70s version" of that hero. Holy stand-in! ALSO: Niall Stenson's take on Neal Hefti's Batman theme; Adam on the Mike Douglas Show; your response to our episode on It's a Bird, It's a Plane, It's Superman; and we eulogize a committed Bat-fan and regular correspondent to our show, High C. Did you know that within every personality type, you can find your ideal client? The problem is that many times, we only sell to our own personality type and in doing so, only capture a small fraction of our total ideal customers? Why? Because we aren't communicating with others the way they need to hear your offer in order to buy. I'm about to tell you how to fix that…right after this… Hi there, welcome to podcast monetization secrets, my name is Christy Haussler and I'm so thankful that you want to learn how to turn your podcast into a revenue stream, because that's exactly why I'm here too. In case you haven't met me yet, I started podcasting almost 10 years ago, by the time 2 years had flown by, I had opened my full service podcast production company, at a time when they didn't really exist! Team Podcast is my company, and I've worked with almost 300 podcasters to launch, grow and monetize their podcasts, and in 2022, my goal is to monetize 100 podcasts. I'm closing in on the $2 million dollar mark with revenue generated from podcasting, and I want to show you how you can change your life with podcasting. So lately, I've been diving deep sales skills and how to properly pitch an offer, and I've been learning from some of the best in the business! And, the more I study what works and the techniques that make people effective at sales, the more I realize that my own mental blocks will keep me stuck faster than anything. If you have mental blocks when it comes to marketing, I will confess to you that I do too. I don't want to because I love marketing, but my head trash always gets in the way. Let me give you some examples of the things that I find myself constantly saying both in my head and out loud… “I don't want to come across as salesy” “I'm not going to insult the intelligence of my audience by doing all the rigamorole that experts teach when you are pitching, I'm just going to tell my audience what the offer is and if they want it, they will take it.” “My offer is good enough that I don't have to do a full blown sales pitch to get people to take it.” “I don't want to seem like every other marketer on the internet, so I'm not going to do x,y, or z.” “I don't want people to think all I care about is sales or money.” And the list goes on and on. Have you ever said any of these or something similar? Well then congratulations my friend, you have your share of head trash too. As a content creator, we get hung up on the creation process. We go deep and want to create the best content, but without effective marketing, the best content is doomed to the dustbin of history. With effective marketing, you can actually make a really great living off of a mediocre course or product. If you have taken the DISC personality profile, you are well aware that there are 4 different personality profiles, and depending which one you are, will affect how you communicate and process information. These personality types often draw us to one field or another as a career choice. The High C personality type is probably going to gravitate towards engineering or accounting and other very analytical and precise types of work. A high D personality may be more drawn into entrepreneurship, while a high I may be more interested in social work or nursing. We have to take these personality types into consideration in our marketing. We have to create marketing systems that can speak directly to a High D and give them the option to go ahead and take action, while we need to slow down and go over every single detail and nuance for the High C. But once each personality type has their objections answered, then they will be ready to take action. I tend to only communicate to others in the way that appeals to me, and you probably do to. Let me give you an example. I was on a mastermind call the other day and a Dr. who deals specifically with

Simplify Your Sales and Business meetings. Lisa Thal is an Author, Speaker, and Business Coach. She has over 35 years of marketing, sales, and leadership experience. She wrote the book "Three Word Meetings." Lisa coaches leaders on simplifying sales and business meetings with fun and interesting 3-word topics to get your sales team motivated and inspired. Episode 143, Four tips to keep your sales from "Stalling." I was coaching a seller and asked about an account she had been calling on and what kept them from moving forward. She replied, "I am having a hard time getting them to call me back. I feel like they are ghosting me." I replied I call it ghosting, but they are stalling to move forward. I explained the difference between Stalling and Objecting to what you presented. We first have to get clear that there is a difference between "stalls" and "objections." Stalls and objections are what you may hear after you have asked for a commitment, but an objection is a specific reason not to buy. In a stall—"I need to think about it"—your prospect or client offers no particular reason for hesitating. Don't let this keep you from moving your client forward. Again, with stalls, the customer offers no particular reason for hesitating. What the stalling client is saying is this: "They are not quite ready." I need more evidence to decide to work with you and your company. Your client may be attempting to gain more information more confidence in what you're offering. So we may have a little more work to do. "Do you know the only objection that you can't overcome?" It is the objection you never get to hear. The clients' objection might be their way of better explaining what makes you different and why doing business with you will improve their situation. You improve your chances of winning the business by changing your mindset and rethinking objections and stalls as simply opportunities to present more information or, better yet, evidence of success. If you're in sales or management, I have a feeling you have heard one of these "Stall tactics." "It's not in the budget right now." "I have to speak with the owner." "It's not our No. 1 priority" "We will get back to you ..." Or worse, they don't call back at all. So what can you do? We have to learn to overcome Stalls. A good portion of our business includes getting meetings with the decision-makers that can say yes. Passion with Purpose There are many examples of sales success. It starts with Passion! Your enthusiasm is contagious; it affects everyone around you—including clients. It helps you through the setbacks, objections, rejections, stalls, and everything else that affects your attitude and approach. Reinforce the solutions and benefits you offer to help them solve their biggest problem. That will strengthen your Passion and purpose. Track your progress Having an efficient process to manage your sales keeps you focused and on track. Every day you need to have a clear map of activities laid out. What activities do you need to do to move the business forward? Is it a phone call? Is it sending client-focused research? Could you share a case study of success? It's your process of progress that will get you there faster. Have a High C People can sense your confidence level, so you don't want to have a Low C. You want a High C. If you can't bounce back from setbacks and rejection with a positive attitude, it becomes more and more challenging to break through to a new business. Resiliency also improves when you focus on qualified accounts--and walk away from the ones where the return on investment is low. I would recommend asking yourself or your prospects: "What's our next step?" Often the prospect can give a better way to move through the sales cycle. Don't be afraid of rejection--that's essential information to understand. Added Value with each attempt It's all about every step you take. Oh, this reminds me of the famous song from the group Police. Every Breath you take And every move you make Every bond you break Every step you take They will be watching you. Each time you make any follow-up call with a prospect, they are watching you. Make sure you have a new idea or information valuable to the client. Stay focused on how you, your product, and your company provide Value. Earn it Passion, planning, high C, adding Value, and earning it are the keys to opening doors and building your business and will be the foundation in helping eliminate many sales stalls. No one likes to deal with objections and stalls but is a part of the sales process. We want to help these clients. So we need to take control by asking thoughtful follow-up questions to help them. By uncovering our prospect's needs for more information, you put yourself in a better position to make the sale. Here's how understanding different personality types helps you grow. What's your behavioral style? Do you know how you operate, communicate, and build rapport with others in the best way? As I've become more self-aware of how I communicate with others, my relationships have improved both personally and professionally. I was trained in the D.I.S.C. behavioral assessment, and although there are many others like it these days, the D.I.S.C taught me that we're all versions of these different personalities, and many times, we're a blend! I wanted to cover the pros and cons of each type today to give you a better understanding of who you are. “D” stands for direct and decisive. Someone who is a “high D” is a doer; they're direct and decisive. However, they could also be considered demanding or domineering. “I” stands for inspiring and interactive. It could also stand for impulsive or irritating. “S” stands for stable and supportive. It could also stand for someone who is slow or sensitive. “C” stands for compliant and careful. A “high C” individual is cautious and conscientious, but they could also be considered calculating or condescending. “Learn your behavior style to better connect and build rapport.” Do you know your personality? What about the styles of your team members or family members? When you know your own personality as well as others, it helps you mirror and match your behavior when you're working to help them with their goals! In real estate, the industry is dominated by people in the “high D” range. When it comes to the population at large though, high “D” personalities only make up about 3% of people. Additionally, “I” personalities make up 11% of the population, and “S” personalities make up a whopping 69% of people. “High C” individuals make up 17% of the population. Think about who you are, how you show up, and be open to asking great questions to learn who your clients and teammates are. You may need to adapt to others' styles instead of dominating with your own. If you have questions about these personality types or anything else, don't hesitate to reach out via phone or email. I look forward to hearing from you. Also, I'm going to do a D.I.S.C. class with Dr. Abelson soon, CLICK HERE for more information on that!
