Today we are sharing the first of our Blister Summit 2025 panel sessions, and we've got a great one to kick things off. We're asking the pros — Hoji, Ted, Anne, and Jess — how they go about assessing and testing ski and snowboard gear, and what advice they have for the rest of us? Plus you'll hear Ted share one of his favorite (but questionable??) ways of testing skis.RELATED LINKS:Get Yourself Covered: BLISTER+ BLISTER YouTube ChannelTOPICS & TIMES:BLISTER+ Updates (00:00)Intros (5:34)Evaluating Prototypes (8:21)Assessing Gear for Yourself (11:35)Going in Blind vs Getting Info First (18:05)Gear You Liked but Didn't Expect to?

DAY 15 Intro- In plain site/ NOT IN THE DEEP SHADOWS Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. 13 Therefore My people go into captivity because they have no knowledge; and their honorable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst. 14 Therefore Sheol has enlarged itself and opened its mouth without measure; so their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he who rejoices shall descend into it. 15 The common man shall be brought down, and the great man shall be humbled, and the eyes of the lofty shall be humbled. During this time, one my daughters (Hoji) chose to leave the group as well, in large part due to my testimony for Christ. She remembers (as I do, as well) being there when I was tortured for my faith in Christ, and that I whispered “I forgive you” to her and the others present (leaders of this organization). With this I want to add: “I want you to get free” to each of my loved ones who are still in the group. It really is possible to get free, and this book is my testimony to this fact. May it help and bless those who read its pages. svali Speaks, svali. It's Not Impossible: Healing from Ritual Abuse and Mind Control (p. 3). Kindle Edition. Tyranny of Secrecy “The very word 'secrecy' is repugnant in a free and open society; and we are as a people inherently and historically opposed to secret societies, to secret oaths, and to secret proceedings.” —John F. Kennedy . “For too long, judges have allowed the government to hide its mistakes behind claims of national security.” —Barry Siegel . “Secrecy does not assure either security or success. Executive lies and deception inflict severe and long-lasting damage to the nation.” - Louis Fisher . Secrecy, when used in the context of the Constitution, is an important safeguard for our nation’s interests. It defends America from the theft of national security information by foreign enemies bent on the destruction of our form of government. If Eric Hoji Hjorleifson isn't known to you. Well you probably don't ski. And you definitely don't ski tour. I think he might be the closest thing to a living legend. As he's got a feature film called HOJI the story of Eric Hjorleifson. It came out last year by Matchstick and it's an hour and twenty minute look into the mind of HOJI and the last fifteen years of footage of him skiing in Matchstick Movies. He's a deep thinker and I pulled him out of his machining shop to do this interview with me at his home in Whistler BC.

Very few people are so good at what they do that they can have a film made about their life and their career while they are still in the middle of both. But Eric Hjorleifson is one of those people, and we talked to Eric about the eponymous film, Hoji, that was produced by Scott Gaffney and Matchstick Productions. Eric and I talk about the tour he’s been on for the film, how the idea for the film originated, and we even got Hoji to ruminate a bit on what he thinks sets him apart as a skier. And gear heads stay tuned, because tomorrow, we’ll be dropping a GEAR:30 episode where you can hear Eric talk about his new Hoji Free boot, as well as the latest iteration of his ski, the 4FRNT Renegade.Click here for more info on the Hoji movie tour datesTOPICS & TIMES:Eric’s favorite stops while touring the movie. Born and raised into a family where seasonal employment and a place to live revolved around skiing and snow conditions, Big mountain specialist Eric Hjorleifson can't actually recall his first day on skis. Raised in the shadowy spine of the Rocky Mountains which rise dramatically from his Canmore, AB, home, "Hoji"s early days were spent on the rope tow at Mount Norquay in Banff National Park.Hjorleifson's talent soon led to an association with a Canmore-area filmmaker named Dustin Lindgren, who contributed footage to Colorado-based Match Stick Productions. Almost broke and hardly able to afford heli-time, Hoji and Lindgren wound up at Mica Heli Guides, a wild backcountry lodge north of Golden, BC. They got enough useful footage for Hjorleifson to produce a 'highlight reel' that eventually led to an Oakley sponsorship.

Hi there, thanks for your patience for this episode on Wall Ball from Avalon Hill. I was finishing the editing on Wednesday morning when Sarah went to work. We thought the front porch was wet, but it was covered with ice. She fell and it was very scary, she was in a lot of pain. I ended up bringing her to the doctor to find out she had bruised her ribs. She is doing better now but the pain sneaks up on her still. Thanks to all of you again for your patience and well wishes. Extra special thanks to Hoji and Kate Scott, who both helped me with this show by telling me about the programmer, Duncan Scott. Duncan sadly passed away in 2011, but when I contacted Kate she was very gracious and willing to help. She got together with her mom and they both answered the questions I sent. Thank you both so much! Next up is the prototype for Tempest, by Atari. This is readily available on Flashback systems and also on Atari Age. I would love to hear your feedback on Tempest which you can send to me at 2600gamebygame@gmail.com. Please send it to me by the end of the day February 18th. Thank you so much for listening!
