AI and Data Quality: Top Trends and Takeaways from IIeX 2025

Were you in Washington, DC, last week for IIeX? If not, our latest episode of Intellect has you covered! Brian Peterson and Matthew Alexander were in the nation's capital for this year's event and sat down to recap all the trends and topics. Let's dive into what the guys discussed: Data Quality Takes Center Stage One of the most talked-about issues this year was data quality, spurred on by the recent industry indictment. Sessions addressing fraud detection, transparent sampling practices, and respondent experience were standing room only. It's clear that researchers are demanding more transparency and layered approaches to improving data quality, from better survey design, better tools, and even improved respondent experience. AI and Synthetic Data: More Practical Applications and Progress AI continued to dominate the conversation, but the tone has shifted. This year, discussions focused on practical applications of how AI can assist in the research process, with a variety of presenters showing how they had integrated AI into their tools. Synthetic data was also a large topic of conversation, with several presenters showing their latest strides in synthetic data and how they are validating it. Brian and Matthew both agreed that the applications are gaining traction in qualitative research, but based on the presentations, were still cautious about its readiness for quantitative applications. What Worked (and What Didn't) From a Format Perspective Both Brian and Matthew felt Washington, D.C. was a fantastic host city—clean, easy to navigate, and close to the airport. They were also happy that the Greenbook team abandoned the headphone concept that was used in Austin. The only drawback they found was that some sessions suffered from mismatched room sizes, with popular topics overflowing beyond capacity. They speculated that because of the indictment news that broke just a couple of weeks prior, there was increased interest in some topics. Give it a listen and let us know what you think. And hey, if IIeX comes to Cincinnati next year like Brian and Matthew suggested, we'll see you there! Did you miss one of our webinars or want to get some of our whitepapers and reports? Yet for employers, recruiting this essential talent remains a major challenge — like searching for a needle in a constantly shifting haystack. With an estimated 70–80% of the global workforce in frontline roles across industries like healthcare, construction, and retail, the demand is huge and turnover is high. It's no surprise that organizations are leaning on technology to gain an edge. But with so many tools out there, how do you know what actually works — and how do you measure success?

Inspired by their recent Top Trends in Fresh webinar, Jonna Parker, team lead, Circana's Fresh Foods group, and Kelly Krumholz, perimeter client insights consultant, provide a “refresh” on trends and opportunities impacting fresh grocery departments. While opportunities for growth continue to take root (GLP-1s, we're talking about you!), headwinds – including being out-marketed by center store – temper growth. Tune in to learn more.  Highlights: Well over half – 56% – of all trips to retail stores for food and beverage are quick trips, which usually involve only one or two departments.  Health-minded consumers account for about one-third of overall food and beverage spending. Fresh departments, especially produce and deli, are crucial for consumers who prioritize healthier eating and transparency in food sourcing. Fresh foods could benefit from suggestive selling and marketing – especially via social channels – based on consumer motivations and occasions. Fresh departments should capitalize on weekend dinners, which tend to include more scratch cooking.

Hey, it's me again, diving into the human experience – you know, the real stuff, especially how it plays out in our workplaces. We're on this journey to figure out how to make things better for everyone, including ourselves. And we're really focused on the big trends for 2025, particularly this whole idea of 'inside-out' work. It's about getting our own things together so we can genuinely help others. In this episode I'm zeroing in on one thing that I believe is absolutely crucial: assuming positive intent. It's a core value for us at CMS, and honestly, if I could give you one piece of advice that would change everything, it is this. But it's a process, so I'm breaking it down. To really see the good in others, you've got to start with yourself. And that means tackling all those negative thoughts that creep in – those 'I'm not good enough' or 'What if I fail?' moments. We're so caught up in what everyone else thinks, and it's holding us back. The key is authenticity. It's about believing in yourself, and a simple way to start is by flipping the script on those negative thoughts. It's about replacing doubt with self-belief, reminding yourself that you deserve success and happiness.  So, this episode is your short assignment: challenge those negative thoughts and embrace your authentic self. Let's make that shift together. Stacie More episodes at StacieBaird.com.
