We're living longer than ever thanks to dramatic improvements in modern medicine, but are we healthy enough to enjoy those extra golden years? In the wake of the MAHA movement, a recent study claims there's a growing gap between our lifespan and "healthspan," arguing that greater emphasis on preventive care could reduce late-life morbidity. Let's take a closer look at the results.

Send us Fan MailIn this small prospective pilot study, Adrianne and Nim explore a domain rarely discussed on rounds, how a mother's cardiovascular function in preeclampsia shapes her newborn's circulatory transition. Using maternal echo and neonatal electrical cardiometry across 13 mother-baby dyads, the authors found an inverse relationship: the worse the mother's cardiac function, the higher the neonate's cardiac output, though vascular tone barely budged. It's a compelling hypothesis about placental strain and fetal adaptation. But Nim pushes back hard on the methodology, pairing this paper with a companion study showing electrical cardiometry consistently overestimates cardiac output in neonates, and questioning why daily echoes were performed on these babies but the results never reported.----Linking maternal and neonatal circulation in preeclampsia. Josh and Dr. Jason Shumard unpack why many people continue to develop complications despite improving their diet, exercising regularly, and taking medications exactly as prescribed. The conversation dives deep into the biology of insulin resistance, cellular dysfunction, chronic inflammation, toxic burden, and how environmental exposures such as mold, heavy metals, pesticides, plastics, and processed foods may interfere with the body's natural ability to regulate blood sugar. Dr. Schumard explains why functional testing—including comprehensive blood analysis and toxin screening—can uncover hidden root causes that conventional medicine often overlooks. Josh and Dr. Schumard also discuss the powerful connection between gut health, the microbiome, immune function, detoxification pathways, and chronic disease. Rather than simply suppressing symptoms, they explain how supporting the body's natural healing mechanisms may help restore metabolic function and improve long-term health. Throughout the episode, they challenge common assumptions about genetics, medications, and the standard approach to Type 2 diabetes while emphasizing that lifestyle remains essential—but often isn't the entire answer. Whether you're living with diabetes, struggling with chronic inflammation, experiencing unexplained fatigue, or simply looking to better understand the root cause approach to healing, this conversation offers an insightful look at how functional medicine views the body's remarkable ability to repair itself when underlying obstacles are identified and addressed. What if the future of human performance is not another supplement, another wearable, or another biohack, but a better relationship with your own data?Dr. Steven Muskal has spent more than four decades at the edge of AI, chemistry, biology, and drug discovery. Before AI was cool, he was using neural networks to study protein structure. Before everyone was talking about personal AI, he was building AI-Steve, a system designed to act like a memory layer, research assistant and cognitive mirror of his own thinking. In this episode, Steve joins Lloyed Lobo on Traction to unpack how AI, biology, food, sleep and personal data are converging into a new operating system for health and performance.Steve shares how his work in AI-driven drug discovery shaped the way he thinks about human biology, why he believes prevention is often easier than treatment, and why optimizing your own health starts with listening to how your body responds. We cover:How Steve used neural networks for protein structure prediction before modern AI explodedWhy food needs to become structured data before it can become personalized medicineHow founders can think about sleep, movement, hot and cold therapy, nutrition and recoveryWhy N-of-1 experimentation matters for health optimizationHow to avoid hallucinations in AI systems when real decisions are on the lineWhy the future of health will be personal, measurable and AI-assistedThis is a conversation for founders, builders and high performers who want to stop guessing and start measuring.Lloyed Lobo- https://linkedin.com/in/lloyedloboDr. Steven Muskal- https://linkedin.com/in/stevenmuskal/
Dr. Marissa Heisel joins Brian Nichols to break down why WebMD is making women sicker, not healthier... and why the self-diagnosing epidemic is exploding right now. After 27 years as a holistic chiropractor and midwifery-trained practitioner, Dr. Heisel has watched women trade their inner knowing for a search bar. The result? More anxiety, worse outcomes, and a generation of women who can't trust the one doctor who actually lives inside them. Inside this episode, we expose the uncomfortable truth nobody on cable news will touch... how the Rockefeller medicine system buried homeopathy, why Canadian chiropractors got a letter in March 2020 ordering them to stop discussing the immune system, and the specific phrase Dr. Heisel says is being used like a spell on women's health right now. So what happens when you keep outsourcing your body to people who don't live in it? Your kids inherit the same fear. The next generation grows up unable to discern truth from narrative. And when "Lockdowns 2.0" rolls in dressed up as a fuel shortage or a food shortage... most people will comply because they've never learned to trust the one source that can't be censored. Their own gut. Stick around for the 1913 reveal that explains why your doctor never asks about your stress (11:42), the moment Dr. Heisel breaks down what's coming next from the International Energy Agency (27:23), and her final prescription that costs zero dollars and works in any season (32:31). A powerful converstaion that dives deep not only into health and facts, but also into Udo's personal story and childhood stories that shaped him and the way he sees the world! How he started his business, the pursuit of knowledge, truth, and the meaning of life! The conversation dives deep into how modern oil processing methods—exposure to heat, light, and oxygen—create massive amounts of damaged molecules, even in oils considered "healthy." As explained in the episode, even 1% damage in a tablespoon of oil can equate to tens of quintillions of altered molecules, which may significantly impact cellular function, gene expression, and the immune system. Beyond nutrition, the discussion expands into root-cause health principles—highlighting how disconnection from natural living, whole foods, and internal awareness contributes to chronic inflammation and disease. The microbiome, digestion, and environmental exposures are all framed within a broader systems-based approach to healing. This month we've got a few papers on dealing with smoking - and not smoking - in the emergency department. The episode starts off with a discussion of a paper on automating high-flow nasal oxygen, and the importance of titration of oxygen levels - critical for patients with COPD. Then there's a paper questioning, can nicotine replacement therapy in the ED really work? This is followed by a research paper addressing the gaps in tracking of vaping and substance use - should doctors be asking more about use of vapes? To finish off the episode there's an analysis of the shifting trends in ED attendance, with case complexity seeing a dramatic increase. Read the highlights: Primary survey Automated titration of nasal high flow oxygen in the emergency department: a randomised controlled trial Emergency department interventions for smoking cessation: a systematic review and meta-analysis Assessment of vaping and substance use documentation in the emergency department and acute medical unit Shifting patterns in emergency department attendance: a time series analysis The EMJ podcast is hosted by: Prof. Richard Body, EMJ Deputy Editor, University of Manchester, UK (@richardbody) Dr. Sarah Edwards, EMJ Senior Associate Editor and Social Media Editor, Royal Derby Hospital, UK (@drsarahedwards) You can subscribe to the EMJ podcast on all podcast platforms to get the latest podcast every month. What if the most common nutrition advice given to people facing chronic illness, eat more plants, is actually working against healing?Host Dr. Katie Deming sits down with Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride, neurologist, nutritionist, and creator of the GAPS Protocol, to question whether the human gut is truly designed to rely on plant-based nutrition during healing. They explore what traditional cultures prioritized for recovery, why some foods may be harder for the body to process than we think, and how modern dietary guidelines may be shaped by forces beyond patient health.Chapters: 00:04:05 - What Your Body Can't Digest 00:06:20 - The Food That Actually Builds You 00:08:25 - The Truth About Vegan Diets 00:10:15 - Who Controls Your Food Choices 00:13:40 - The Profit Behind Your Diet 00:17:45 - Why Doctors Stay Silent 00:22:10 - Treating Symptoms or HealingIf you're facing chronic illness, supporting someone who is, or trying to understand what your body needs during recovery, this episode challenges conventional thinking around food and healing.Press play and learn what may be missing when certain foods are removed, and why that matters most when your body is under stress.Connect with Guest: https://www.doctor-natasha.com/Access the FREE Water Fasting Masterclass Now: https://www.katiedeming.com/the-healing-power-of-fasting/Ready to try fasting but don't want to do it alone? Host Dr. Larry Barsh sits down with two frontline Philadelphia healthcare providers to discuss the mounting health crisis driven by fear of immigration enforcement in immigrant communities. The conversation draws on a powerful New York Times op-ed the guests co-authored in February, titled "Our Patients Are More Frightened and Sicker Than Ever," and explores real patient stories, systemic failures, and what listeners can do to help.Dr. Robin Canada - Professor of Clinical Medicine, University of Pennsylvania's Perelman School of Medicine. Primary care physician and community health leader serving as Associate Division Chief for Community Engagement and Director of Residency Education at a clinic specifically for immigrant patients in South Philadelphia. Co-author of the February New York Times op-ed.Elizabeth Whidden - Fifth-year MD/MPH student at the University of Pennsylvania, months away from beginning her residency in internal medicine. Former immigrant case manager. Current leader of an organization coordinating medical-legal partnerships for asylum seekers. Co-author of the February New York Times op-ed.Widespread fear in immigrant communities is causing patients to avoid medical care, even those with legal status.ICE activity has been described as indiscriminate — affecting documented residents, mixed-status families, and U.S. citizens.Medical Consequences of DetentionInterruption of medications for diabetes, hypertension, post-stroke care, dialysis, and addiction leads to rapid deterioration.Reportedly 40+ detainee deaths in 2025; 6–8 already reported in 2026 (exact figures uncertain). An ACLU analysis found roughly 95% of detention deaths between 2021–2024 were preventable with proper medical care.Detained individuals face lack of food access, irregular bathroom schedules, absence of exercise, and extreme psychological stress. How Clinics Are Responding Switching to phone-based telemedicine appointments when ICE threat levels are high.Locking clinic waiting rooms to prevent unannounced ICE entry; installing security in the vestibule.Increased proactive outreach to high-risk patients who have stopped coming in.Writing letters of medical necessity for detained patients to support legal and consulate efforts.Coordinating medical-legal partnerships for asylum seekers through student-led organizations.Relevance to SeniorsMany caregivers in senior living and skilled nursing facilities come from immigrant communities — ICE enforcement directly disrupts elder care.Undocumented seniors are also directly affected — the episode highlights a man in his late 60s on dialysis being worked up for cancer who lives under dual threats of illness and deportation. How You Can HelpDonate to legal aid organizations in your city — immigration lawyers are working around the clock on habeas petitions and there is a serious shortage.Support safety-net clinics caring for immigrant patients — these communities often have no access to Medicaid, Medicare, or food assistance.Search for immigrant rights organizations in your city — most have a "how to help" section on their website with both financial and volunteer opportunities.Attend protests and rallies — as Dr. Canada notes, the world is watching, and advocacy from seniors carries special weight.Stay informed and speak out — sharing the realities of what is happening in your community can shift the conversation.Referenced Article"Our Patients Are More Frightened and Sicker Than Ever" — New York Times op-ed, February 2025, by Dr. Robin Canada and Elizabeth Whidden. Your Natural Dog with Angela Ardolino - Formerly It's A Dog's Life
In this episode of Your Natural Dog, Angela Ardolino is joined by Dr. Judy Jasek, a holistic veterinarian with decades of clinical experience, for a candid conversation about why our pets are sicker than ever. Together, they unpack how modern pet care, from highly processed supplements and foods to so-called “inactive” ingredients like fillers, binders, gums, starches, and spray-dried additives, can quietly disrupt detox pathways, burden the liver and kidneys, and undermine gut health, especially in older pets. Angela and Dr. Jasek also explore how the pet industry has changed over time, why marketing buzzwords can be misleading, and what pet parents can do instead to support the body's natural ability to restore balance and resilience.Episode Recap:Angela introduces Dr. Judy Jasek, who explains why she identifies as holistic rather than “integrative,” and they discuss how the terms ‘holistic' and ‘natural' can be overused, both in pet care and supplements. (00:00)Why supplements can be a trap for well-meaning pet parents who want “natural” alternatives, and how health is the body's natural state, we just need to support the body, not “create health” with products. (04:32)Angela and Dr. Judy call out “natural” supplement labels that hide harmful inactive ingredients, including common fillers like microcrystalline cellulose (wood pulp), and how many additives exist primarily to make manufacturing cheaper or easier (binders, bulking agents, flow agents). (07:02)They break down how big companies use buzzwords and emotional marketing to sell inferior pet foods and pet supplements, and why understanding where ingredients truly come from matters more than the label claims. (10:45)They talk about the common “senior dog spiral,” where joint pain leads to drugs and stacking interventions that overload detox systems. (16:00)The rise of cancer in younger pets and how much the landscape has changed across Dr. Judy's career. They also talk about immune-suppressing allergy drugs and how turning off symptoms can create bigger downstream problems. (23:03)Angela talks about the rise of countless pet joint supplements, and the most popular pet joint supplements, like Cosequin, the problems with these isolates, and how hard it can be to even find full ingredient lists for many of these popular supplements. (28:05)The conversation highlights how corporate-owned veterinary systems often treat lab numbers and symptoms rather than treating the whole animal, leading to more drugs, more tests, and fewer answers for pet parents. (32:13)They dive into why inactive ingredients matter just as much as active ones, exposing how common fillers, sugars, and gums can fuel inflammation and gut imbalance in pets. (35:50)Angela and Dr. Judy highlight how foods like mushrooms, ferments, and small amounts of veggie fiber can support gut health by working with a pet's natural instincts. Happy New Year, Lemon Nation. This morning we're starting 2026 with some tough but necessary conversations. First, we'll look at growing public concern around Donald Trump's health. From recent appearances to repeated inconsistencies, many are questioning whether he's in worse shape than we're being told and why transparency seems so limited. Then we turn to an issue affecting millions of Americans right now: healthcare costs. With enhanced healthcare subsidies officially expired, premiums are already rising for families across the country. What does this mean for people living paycheck to paycheck? Will some be forced to delay care or go without coverage entirely? We'll break down what's happening, what options (if any) remain, and what comes next for Americans caught in the middle. In this eye-opening episode, Dr. Cristina Castagnini sits down with Zoe Harwood to dismantle the dangerous myths surrounding the BMI and the concept of "clean eating." Zoe shares her personal journey from a professional dancer praised for her "discipline" to a woman battling severe Orthorexia—a condition often hidden behind a mask of health and wellness. They discuss how the medical community frequently overlooks eating disorders in individuals who sit within a "healthy" weight range, the toxic grip of social media algorithms, and the frightening reality of navigating pregnancy while fearing medical intervention. This conversation challenges the definition of health, proving that well-being is about far more than a number on a scale or the "purity" of the food on your plate.SHOW NOTES: Click hereFollow me on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/behind_the_bite Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Why are women developing chronic illness at younger ages—and why are they so often dismissed when they seek answers? In this episode of Brave New Us, bioethicist and chronic illness patient Samantha Stephenson explores why women are disproportionately affected by autoimmune disease, migraines, infertility, depression, and other chronic conditions. Drawing from ethics, medicine, and lived experience, she examines the role of environmental toxins, hormonal contraception, abortion, and inequities in medical research—and asks how women can pursue real healing without ignoring the spiritual meaning of suffering. In This EpisodeWhy women are getting sicker at younger agesChronic illness, autoimmune disease, and women's healthEndocrine-disrupting chemicals in beauty, cleaning, and food productsThe “generally recognized as safe” (GRAS) loopholeHormonal birth control as a band-aid—not a cureSide effects of hormonal contraceptives, including brain changesRestorative reproductive medicine and NaProTechnologyAbortion and women's physical and psychological healthWhy women are underrepresented in medical researchThe ethics of studying women's bodiesFinding meaning, faith, and intimacy with Christ through sufferingEssays & ArticlesSamantha's Essay (discussed in this episode)“Why Are Women So Sick?” — Claire the Catholic FeministAbortion Is the Real Assault on Women— Crisis MagazineWomen Deserve Better Than Abortion — Word on FireBooks & FilmsYour Brain on Birth Control— Sarah E. ✨Hey! This week looks a little different around here — on purpose. Instead of our usual rhythm, I'm airing five episodes in five days. Think of it as a mini-series designed especially for you — curated, fun, and binge-worthy. Fewer cliffhangers, more “ohhh… that makes sense.” Every episode this week features a conversation from a show I've been invited onto as a guest — hosted by smart, generous people you'll genuinely enjoy listening to. Each episode stands on its own. Together, they create momentum. So if you've been listening here and there, this is a great week to lean in. Start wherever you want — or (best option) listen in order and let the through-line reveal itself. Either way, I'd love to hear what you think. Happiest and Healthiest Holidays to you and your loved ones. ✨ Episode Title: Another Protocol? Why Wellness May Be Making You Sicker It's a subtle shift, but at some point, health stops being a goal — and becomes something you start chasing. There's a moment when wellness stops being something you pursue with curiosity and becomes something you're striving for — constantly, urgently, and never quite catching. More tracking. More fixing. More rules. More pressure to get-it-right... all under the promise that this will finally be the thing that makes you feel better. Except instead of feeling better, you feel more tired, more inflamed, and more frustrated with your body than ever. In this episode, I join Tiffany Sauder on the Life of And Podcast for a provocative conversation — one that questions the very foundation of modern wellness culture. We talk about how constant protocols, tracking, optimizing, and “fixing” can quietly dysregulate the nervous system, why women are especially vulnerable to this cycle, and how healing often requires less input, not more. We don't need to consume more information from experts or influencers. This episode is not about stacking habits. It's about interrupting the stress loop that keeps people cycling through plans, practitioners, and promises — without ever feeling truly well. And it gives you the conditions your body's waiting for in order to truly heal. What We Cover (with Timestamps) [00:02] — The moment that changed everything How a childhood conversation about cancer prevention sparked my path into functional medicine — and why prevention is always the quieter power move. [00:08] — Where to start when functional medicine feels overwhelming Why you don't need every test, every protocol, or every supplement — and how decision fatigue keeps people stuck. [00:12] — The 2–3 labs that actually give you clarity Gut testing, metabolic markers, and why running all the tests at once is often a waste of money (and energy). [00:16] — Why people fall off “healthy habits” (and it's not laziness) The identity traps, self-talk patterns, and nervous system overload that quietly sabotage consistency. [00:19] — Food freedom without the spiral Why perfection is a myth, how to stop self-shaming after one off-plan meal, and the mindset shift that creates long-term health. [00:22] — Real-life swaps that actually work From almond-flour cookies to club soda in a wine glass — how small shifts keep you socially connected and feeling good in your body. [00:30] — How to fuel a tired body on a demanding day Protein-anchored mornings, blood sugar stability, simple movement breaks, and a nervous-system reset you can do in under two minutes. The Real Conversation We're Having This episode is not asking you to believe in a new system. It's asking you to question the one you've been swimming in. If your health journey feels like a constant state of monitoring, correcting, restricting, or upgrading — your body may not be confused. It may be overstimulated. Healing doesn't happen when the body feels watched, rushed, or perpetually unfinished. It happens when the nervous system finally gets the message that it's safe to stand down. This conversation is an invitation to stop chasing the next protocol and start creating the conditions where healing can actually occur. No pressure. No perfection. Just physiology, honesty, and a much calmer way forward. Where to Find Me
We're rebroadcasting this important episode with Functional Pediatrician Dr. Mario Brus, MD. Trained at Loma Linda University, Dr. Brus specializes in pediatric functional medicine, focusing on the root causes of chronic conditions in children. In this episode, he explains how targeted lab testing, genetic insights, nutrition, lifestyle strategies, and high-quality supplements can support children's health. Dr. Brus emphasizes partnering with families, listening to their concerns, and creating personalized care plans to help kids thrive.
Feeling bloated, fatigued, or “off” no matter what you do? It might not be your diet — it could be mold. In this episode, Liz and Becca dive deep into how to detoxify mold safely (without wrecking your body), why binders and glutathione alone won't fix it, and how drainage pathways — liver, bile, lymph, and especially your bowels — determine whether your detox actually works. Learn the 5 foundational steps to detox right, avoid herx reactions, and finally start feeling like you again. ***CONNECT
I found Dr. Trasande quoted in a Washington Post article The health risks from plastics almost nobody knows about: Phthalates, chemicals found in plastics, are linked to an array of problems, especially in pregnancy. He said, "Endocrine-disrupting chemicals are one of the biggest global health threats of our time ... And 2 percent of us know about it---but 99 percent of us are affected by it.”The article said that he said that "at the population level, scientists can see telltale signs that those chemicals are undermining human health, adding to growing male infertility or growing cases of ADHD." This outcome suggests a violation of this nation being founded on protecting life, liberty, and property, and the consent of the governed. I also found from this video, Food Contaminants and Additives, that he reported his results thoroughly, taking care not to venture outside his research.I had to talk to him.We talked about his research, what brought him to a new field, now burgeoning, of learning about chemicals that disrupt our endocrine systems---that is, they mess with our hormones. You'll hear that he didn't intend to go into it. It was (tragically) growing in importance since our hormone systems are becoming increasingly disrupted, as are those of many species.I should be more accurate. They aren't passively being disrupted. Consumers are paying companies to produce chemicals that do it.It sounds slimy and scary. I'd rather it didn't happen, but since it does, I'd rather know than not know. I think you would too.Dr. Trasande's NYU faculty page Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Feeling like your body is betraying you—despite doing ALL the right things? If you're stuck in brain fog, fatigue, or mysterious symptoms even after endless detoxes, supplements, and cleanses… THIS episode will change EVERYTHING.Trust me—I've got you. I'm literally going through mold illness for the fourth time, and I finally understand why most people get detoxification completely wrong. In today's powerful conversation, I'm joined by Jess Kane, whose family company BodyBio has been pioneering cellular health and mitochondrial support since the 1990s. Together, we unpack what real detox looks like—from the inside out. Jess opens up about her own journey: watching her health spiral after her father's death, discovering she had Lyme disease and mold toxicity with zero symptoms, and rebuilding her energy by restoring her cell membranes and fatty acid balance. You'll discover:
Are blood pressure medications saving lives—or quietly making things worse? In this episode of Walk, Don't Run to the Doctor, Miles Hassell MD takes a hard look at the role of blood pressure drugs. While medications can protect against stroke and heart damage, they also carry serious side effects—from fatigue and dizziness to diabetes and falls in older adults. The bigger issue? Medications can distract from the most powerful treatment of all: lifestyle change. Eating better, moving more, trimming excess weight, and cutting harmful habits often work better than pills—and without the toxic tradeoffs. Dr. Hassell breaks down: ✅ Why "all drugs are poisons with potentially useful side effects." ✅ How lifestyle medicine outperforms prescriptions in long-term health. ✅ The hidden dangers of relying on medications instead of making changes. ✅ The four key steps to lowering blood pressure naturally. ✅ Questions to ask your doctor before staying on meds. Whether you're already on blood pressure drugs or just want to prevent chronic disease, this episode will help you make informed, empowered choices for better health. Take control of your health. Text us a comment or question! We're living longer - but not healthier. Chronic disease, obesity, cancer, and cognitive decline are skyrocketing, and most of us have been led to believe it's all about food and fitness. But there's a deeper story hiding in plain sight. In this eye-opening conversation, Coach Kevin English sits down with Dr. Nathan Donley, a cellular biologist turned environmental health researcher, to uncover the truth about the toxins all around us - and inside us. From pesticide-laden crops to chemical-filled water and everyday household products, Dr. Donley reveals how corporate profits and weak policy have created an invisible health crisis. Why does trauma therapy sometimes make you feel worse physically? What if the key to healing isn't just changing your mindset, but understanding your cellular capacity for stress? When you dive into trauma work without addressing your biology first, you might be opening Pandora's box in ways that overwhelm your body's ability to cope. Dr. Aimie Apigian discovered this the hard way - developing multiple health conditions including autoimmunity and chronic fatigue while doing "cutting-edge" trauma therapy. Her physical reactions to emotional healing led to a groundbreaking understanding: trauma isn't just stored in your mind, it's living in your cells, and your body has a limited capacity for processing stress. In this illuminating conversation with Dr. Tom O'Bryan, Dr. Aimie reveals why the popular focus on mindset and "being stronger" actually sabotages healing. She breaks down the three biological survival mechanisms that keep trauma locked in your body and explains why addressing toxic burden is essential for emotional recovery. You'll hear more on: Why trauma therapy can trigger physical flare-ups including gut issues, chronic fatigue, and autoimmune symptoms The critical difference between emotional capacity and physical homeostatic capacity for healing How cellular capacity - not mindset - determines how much stress you can handle without breaking The three survival mechanisms your body uses during trauma: dissociation, immobilization, and energy conservation Why you crave specific foods like bread and sweets after emotional breakthroughs (and the biology behind it) How gluten affects your brain through opiate receptors and hypoperfusion, creating a "dumbed down" state The connection between trauma burden and toxic burden - why they're the same at the cellular level Dr. Tom's four-quadrant approach to chronic conditions: structure, biochemistry, emotional/spiritual, and electromagnetic Why all chronic health conditions are related to trauma biology, according to adverse childhood experiences research How to recognize if your body is holding trauma through specific biological patterns The "emergency brake" effect: why comprehensive medical care fails when trauma biology isn't addressed How to approach trauma healing while staying within your capacity and building resilience safely Whether you've experienced physical reactions during emotional healing work, struggle with chronic health conditions that don't respond to treatment, or are supporting someone through trauma recovery, this episode reveals why befriending your body and honoring your biological limits is essential for lasting transformation. Dr. Aimie's groundbreaking approach, validated by Dr. Tom's decades of clinical experience shows us that healing trauma isn't about pushing through or being stronger - it's about creating safety at the cellular level so your body can finally let go of what it's been holding to protect you.

Independent journalist Don Lemon joins the Beast's Joanna Coles for a wide-ranging conversation unpacking Trump's health issues, the MAGA movement's big problem, and the night RFK Jr. had dinner with Don Lemon. The two dive into Trump's public appearance at the U.S. Open and ask what the mysterious blue object clenched in his mouth, seen in a candid photo, is. The two also take apart JD Vance's rise, calling him the kind of “DEI hire” conservatives pretend to hate. They dig into the contradictions of his wife Usha's background, the role Black Americans played in securing rights for immigrant communities, and why Trump still manages to suck all the oxygen out of every room. STORY AT-A-GLANCE Treating illnesses by suppressing symptoms frequently precipitates far more severe diseases which have rippled out throughout our society The primary management for most autoimmune conditions is through symptom suppressing drugs, which frequently have significant toxicity In most cases, autoimmune disorders and inflammatory joint conditions have an underlying cause, such as a chronic undiagnosed stealth infection or food allergy, which when addressed significantly improve the condition Many factors in life that we can control and do not require prescriptions to address (e.g., diet, stress or sleep) directly contribute to autoimmunity and, when addressed, improve it This article will review some of the key steps which can be taken to improve autoimmune disorders and reduce one's reliance upon toxic medications
