Scripture Reading: Galatians 4:4-7, Titus 2:11-14 A few people recognized Jesus as the promised Messiah when He was born.  One of them was Anna, whom Luke said, "did not depart from the temple, worshiping with fasting and prayer night and day" (Lk 2:37).  Upon seeing the blessed baby, Anna began to speak "to all who were waiting for the redemption of Jerusalem" (Lk 2:38).  Among the many ramifications of the coming of Christ is the idea that Jesus is the Redeemer of the souls of all who trust in Him. There are two main ideas in the concept of a redeemer.  First, a redeemer releases someone from bondage.  "I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will deliver you from their bondage. I will also redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments" (Exod 6:6). Second, a redeemer pays a price, so redemption carries the idea of ownership.  "But now, thus says the LORD, your Creator, O Jacob, and He who formed you, O Israel, 'Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine!'" (Isa 43:1). Paul brings out a third implication drawn from the notion of Christ being our Redeemer in Galatians 4 when he says, "But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons" (Gal 4:4,5).  Because Jesus came to be a Redeemer, those who rest in Him become children of God, by a wondrous adoption, so that believers can say "my Father" to the Almighty.  This is the meaning of Christmas!

This is the final episode in our first full length true crime series. A day devoted now to gratitude will add the benefit of some insight into the real extent of all the gains which you have made; the gifts you have received. Be glad today, in loving thankfulness, your Father has not left you to yourself, nor let you wander in the dark alone. Be grateful He has saved you from the self you thought you made to take the place of Him and His creation. Give Him thanks today. Give thanks that He has not abandoned you, and that His Love forever will remain shining on you, forever without change. Give thanks as well that you are changeless, for the Son He loves is changeless as Himself. Be grateful you are saved. Be glad you have a function in salvation to fulfill. Be thankful that your value far transcends your meager gifts and petty judgments of the one whom God established as His Son. Today in gratitude we lift our hearts above despair, and raise our thankful eyes, no longer looking downward to the dust. We sing the song of thankfulness today, in honor of the Self That God has willed to be our true Identity in Him. Today we smile on everyone we see, and walk with lightened footsteps as we go to do what is appointed us to do. We do not go alone. And we give thanks that in our solitude a Friend has come to speak the saving Word of God to us. And thanks to you for listening to Him. His Word is soundless if it be not heard. In thanking Him the thanks are yours as well. An unheard message will not save the world, however mighty be the Voice that speaks, however loving may the message be. Thanks be to you who heard, for you become the messenger who brings His Voice with you, and lets It echo round and round the world. Receive the thanks of God today, as you give thanks to Him. For He would offer you the thanks you give, since He receives your gifts in loving gratitude, and gives them back a thousand and a hundred thousand more than they were given. He will bless your gifts by sharing them with you. And so they grow in power and in strength, until they fill the world with gladness and with gratitude. Receive His thanks and offer yours to Him for fifteen minutes twice today. And you will realize to Whom you offer thanks, and Whom He thanks as you are thanking Him. We all deserve a second chance. Since I know for a FACT that NO ONE is perfect, then that let's me know that almost EVERYONE has had to redeem themselves at some point for some act to someone. Its basically inevitable if you ask me. Of course how could I even bring up this subject without including Americas most shining example of the word: MIKE VICK! In the grand scheme of things his story is nothing short of the word. As he triumphed over Indianapolis and the squeaky clean Payton Manning, who in the eyes of most is pretty much the ANT-VICK, the Bizzaro Vick, it showed me what second chances can do for a person. We all have fallen short of the glory. So my questions for this episode are as follows: Have you ever had to redeem yourself? If so (and remember I know you have) what was it for? How did you fall short of expectations? Have you ever had to give someone else a chance to redeem themselves to you. If so, what for and did they fulfill this shot at redemption? Have you ever gave someone the chance and they FAILED AGAIN? What about you, did you ever FAIL AGAIN? What are some stories of redemption that inspire you that you can share, famous or not. Of course you know I have to put the K-100 spin on things. What do you feel about CRIMINALS being allowed to redeem themselves? Has anyone ever committed a CRIME against you or someone you know that you feel like they could NEVER get redemption for? What about in your career choice, you ever mess up so bad at work or in your field that you felt you needed a chance to redeem yourself to your peers and coworkers because you KNOW you can do a better job? If you ever played sports this can happen quite often. And last but of course not least, HAVE YOU EVER NEEDED TO REDEEM YOURSELF IN THE BEDROOM? You know, you wasn't on ya A GAME that night and you felt like the person doesn't have an accurate depiction of you sex game from it. LOl..its also MASH A MUTHAF**KA MONDAY!
