Ali, who grew up in Gwinnett County, is excited to return to the newly renovated hospital, which he describes as vastly improved since his childhood. He values internal medicine for its diversity and focus on long-term care. Ali joins a full class of 30 residents from around the world starting this summer. STORY 2: Northeast Georgia Health System posting ER, urgent care wait times online Northeast Georgia Health System now posts real-time wait times for five emergency rooms and 11 urgent care locations on its website, nghs.com. This helps patients decide where to seek care based on urgency and wait times. Emergency rooms handle life-threatening issues like chest pain or severe burns, while urgent care treats non-life-threatening conditions like minor injuries, colds, or allergies. Executive Director Walter Wiley emphasized that this transparency allows patients to make informed decisions and includes guidance on when to visit the ER, urgent care, or opt for a video consultation. Between March 29 and April 1, Amin reportedly sent threatening texts, social media messages, and images, including a gun pointed at photos of Gabbard and Williams. He admitted to the threats, citing frustration with U.S. foreign policy. The FBI, which found a firearm during a search of his home, is investigating. Officials emphasized zero tolerance for threats against public officials, vowing full prosecution. STORY 5: Cancer-fighting implant shows promise in treating tumors: study Researchers have developed IL-12 (SY-toh-kine) cytokine factories that, when combined with checkpoint inhibitors, successfully eliminated tumors in preclinical models of metastatic melanoma, colorectal, and pancreatic cancers. The technology demonstrated both efficacy and safety in mice and non-human primates, addressing the challenge of effective cancer treatment with minimal toxicity. The study, led by Professor ( "OH-meed VAY-seh") Omid Veiseh, aims to enhance immunotherapy by recruiting a broader, more durable T-cell response. This new rate is slightly higher than last year's but below the 2022 rate. If approved, property owners could see an increase in their taxes—about $27.55 for a $475,000 home and $20.30 for a $350,000 non-homestead property. Public hearings will be held on August 19 and August 26 at the Chambers at City Center. STORY 5: Ball Ground Floating Pay Raises for Mayor and City Council Ball Ground is considering pay raises for its mayor and city council, set to take effect in January 2026 if approved in October. The mayor's salary could rise from $300 to $650 per month, and the city council's pay from $50 to a flat $400 per month. This increase aims to align Ball Ground's salaries with neighboring municipalities, as current rates have been unchanged for over 20 years. The city council believes the adjustment is necessary to fairly compensate officials for their time and responsibilities. Additionally, the city is interviewing candidates for a new city clerk due to the retirement of Karen Jordan. For more details, visit the City of Ball Ground's website. Commercial: INGLES 10 STORY 6: Runners Race for Charity at CFA Cherokee County 5K Saturday The Chick-fil-A Cherokee County 5K, formerly the Moo've It 5K, takes place at Etowah River Park in Canton on August 17. This annual event, now in its 11th year, features a 5K race, a one-mile “calf run,” and a “nugget roll” for kids aged 2-4. Registration opens at 6 a.m., with the 5K starting at 8 a.m. and the other races following. The event, which includes a cow costume contest and a performance by the North GA Cloggers, raises funds for the Cherokee County Educational Foundation and Cherokee County Special Olympics. Over the past decade, it has raised over $300,000. Registration fees are $50 for the 5K, $25 for the calf run and nugget roll, and $25 for a “ghost runner” option. The race is held rain or shine. STORY 7: Georgia House Study Committee Takes Up Fishing Rights Jud Turner, former director of Georgia's Environmental Protection Division, suggested that state agency regulations might resolve the complex issue of public fishing rights more effectively than new legislation. During a House study committee meeting, Turner emphasized that rulemaking allows for public input and is well-suited for defining which Georgia rivers and streams are navigable for fishing. This follows legal disputes over fishing bans on private property, which led to recent legislative changes, including removing the “public trust doctrine” to address property owner concerns. The committee, tasked with clarifying navigability, has until December to complete its work but may not necessarily issue recommendations. We'll have closing comments after this. Niraj Sharma, MD, FHRS, Northside Hospital is joined by Rhea Pimentel, BChir, MD, FHRS, University of Kansas Health System and Usman Siddiqui, MD, Florida Cardiology Advent Health Systems, Orlando, to discuss how the FLUTFIB study aimed to assess the incidence, duration, timing, and symptoms of atrial fibrillation (AF) after cavotricuspid isthmus (CTI) ablation in patients with atrial flutter (AFL). The study included 100 patients with AFL, who received implantable loop recorders for continuous AF monitoring following CTI ablation. Over a median follow-up of 24 months, 77% of patients experienced AF episodes, typically occurring around 180 days post-ablation. Most AF episodes lasted over an hour, and about half of the patients reported symptoms. Baseline characteristics and risk scores (HATCH and CHA2DS2-VASc) did not predict AF development. Oral anticoagulation was discontinued in 32% of patients during follow-up but was restarted in 15% after AF detection. No strokes or transient ischemic attacks were recorded. This study, the largest of its kind, underscores the high incidence of often asymptomatic AF after AFL ablation and provides insights for anticoagulation management post-ablation. https://www.hrsonline.org/education/TheLead Host Disclosure(s): N. Deepthy Varghese, MSN, ACNP, FNP, Northside Hospital is joined by Hung-Fat Tse, Sr., MD, University of Hong Kong and Glenn Young, MBBS, Royal Adelaide Hospital to discuss the effectiveness of the PRECISE-DAPT score with the CHA2DS2VASC score in predicting thromboembolic risk in nonvalvular atrial fibrillation (AF) patients undergoing transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) before AF ablation. 428 patients were analyzed, with 60 in the thrombogenic positive group and 368 in the thrombogenic milieu negative group. Multivariate logistic regression revealed that the PRECISE-DAPT score independently predicted thrombogenic milieu presence (OR: 1.145, CI: 1.083–1.211, p < 0.001). The study concluded that the PRECISE-DAPT score is a valuable predictor of thromboembolic risk in AF patients undergoing TEE before ablation procedures. https://www.hrsonline.org/education/TheLead https://jafib-ep.com/journal/february-2024-volume-17-issue-1/original-research-the-predictive-value-of-precise-dapt-scores-for-thrombogenic-milieu-of-the-left-atrium-in-patients-awaiting-af-ablation/ Host Disclosure(s): D. Deepthy Varghese, MSN, ACNP, FNP, Northside Hospital is joined by Sirena Bridges, MSN, FNP-BC, CCDS, VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare, and Jodie L. Hurwitz, MD, FHRS, North Texas Heart Center to discuss the effects of metoprolol and carvedilol on the risk of atrial tachyarrhythmia (ATA) and ventricular arrhythmia (VA) in over 4,000 heart failure (HF) patients with a primary prevention implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) by pooling data from five landmark ICD trials. Carvedilol treatment was associated with a 35% reduction in the risk of ATA and a corresponding decrease in the risk of inappropriate ICD shocks when compared to metoprolol. While there was a trend towards a lower risk of fast VA with carvedilol, this finding did not reach statistical significance. Carvedilol's unique properties, including its ability to block both β and α receptors, improve hemodynamics, and exhibit antiarrhythmic effects, may contribute to its superior outcomes. Overall, these results suggest that carvedilol may be preferred as the first-line beta-blocker choice in HF patients with a primary prevention ICD, but further prospective studies are needed to validate these findings and assess the impact of contemporary HF therapies on arrhythmic outcomes https://www.hrsonline.org/education/TheLead https://www.jacc.org/doi/10.1016/j.jacep.2023.06.009 Host Disclosure(s): D. Deepthy Varghese, MSN, ACNP, FNP, Northside Hospital is joined by Tina Baykaner, MD, MPH Stanford University, and Gurukripa N Kowlgi, MBBS, MSci, Mayo Clinic–Rochester to discuss; the multicenter study investigated the potential of machine learning (ML) models to improve risk stratification for implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) implantation in patients at risk of sudden cardiac death (SCD). By combining clinical variables with 12-lead electrocardiogram (ECG) time-series features, the models aimed to predict non-arrhythmic mortality within three years after device implantation. Results showed that ML models identified patients at risk with high accuracy, demonstrating robust performance in both the development and external validation cohorts. This suggests that ML-based approaches could enhance risk assessment for SCD prevention in primary prevention populations. https://www.hrsonline.org/education/TheLead https://academic.oup.com/europace/article/25/9/euad271/7274626 Host Disclosure(s): D. Deepthy Varghese, MSN, ACNP, FNP, Northside Hospital is joined by James O'Hara, PhD, PA, Virginia Heart, and Shunmuga Sundaram Ponnusamy, MBBS, MD, CEPS-A, Velammal Medical College Hospital, and Research Institute to discuss a study that evaluated the impact of QRS morphology on the risk of life-threatening ventricular arrhythmias in heart failure patients treated with cardiac resynchronization therapy with a defibrillator (CRT-D). The analysis included 2,862 patients from five major ICD trials, focusing on those with a QRS duration of ≥130 ms. Patients were categorized into those receiving ICD-only or CRT-D. Key findings: Among patients with left bundle branch block (LBBB), those with CRT-D showed a significant 44% reduction in the risk of fast ventricular tachycardia (VT)/ventricular fibrillation (VF) compared to ICD-only patients. They also had a lower fast VT/VF burden and fewer appropriate shocks. In patients with non-left bundle branch block (NLBBB), CRT-D did not reduce the risk of fast VT/VF and was associated with a significant increase in the burden of fast VT/VF events compared to ICD-only patients. The study concludes that CRT-D effectively reduces life-threatening ventricular arrhythmias in LBBB patients but may increase the risk in NLBBB patients. https://www.hrsonline.org/education/TheLead https://www.jacc.org/doi/10.1016/j.jacep.2023.09.018?s=03 Host Disclosure(s): D. Deepthy Varghese, MSN, ACNP, FNP, Northside Hospital is joined by Aarti Dalal, DO, FHRS, CEPS-P, Vanderbilt University and Peter S. Fischbach, MA, MD, Emory University/Children's Healthcare of Atlanta to discuss the multicenter, single-arm trial evaluated the safety and efficacy of transplacental treatment for fetal supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) and atrial flutter (AFL). The treatment involved using digoxin, sotalol, and flecainide for singleton pregnancies from 22 to less than 37 weeks of gestation with sustained fetal SVT or AFL with heart rates of at least 180 beats per minute. Out of the 50 enrolled patients, fetal tachyarrhythmia resolved in 89.8% of cases overall, and in 75.0% of cases where fetal hydrops were present. Pre-term births occurred in 20.4% of patients. Maternal adverse events were observed in 78.0% of patients, with serious adverse events leading to discontinuation of treatment in 4 patients. Two fetal deaths occurred due to heart failure, and neonatal tachyarrhythmia was observed in 31.9% of neonates within 2 weeks after birth. In conclusion, the transplacental treatment protocol was effective and tolerable in 90% of patients, but serious adverse events were noted in fetuses, and tachyarrhythmias could recur in neonates within the first 2 weeks after birth. https://www.hrsonline.org/education/TheLead https://www.jacc.org/doi/10.1016/j.jacc.2019.06.024 Host Disclosure(s): D. Deepthy Varghese, MSN, ACNP, FNP, Northside Hospital, is joined by Gregory Lip, MD., University of Liverpool, and Elaine Y. Wan, MD, FHRS Columbia University, Cardiology to discuss the limitations of current clinical decision tools for assessing bleeding risk in individuals with atrial fibrillation (AF) taking direct-acting oral anticoagulants (DOACs). Conducted as a secondary analysis of the RE-LY trial and validated in multiple cohorts, the study introduces the DOAC Score as a personalized risk assessment tool. The DOAC Score incorporates various covariates such as age, creatinine clearance, underweight status, medical history, and medication use to estimate the comparative risk for major bleeding. The risk prediction model demonstrated robust performance, outperforming the HAS-BLED score in terms of predictive accuracy. Internal and external validation in diverse cohorts, including the GARFIELD-AF registry, COMBINE-AF pooled clinical trial cohort, and administrative databases, confirmed the score's reliability in stratifying bleeding risk among individuals on different DOACs. The DOAC Score represents a significant advancement in tailoring risk assessments for bleeding in AF patients receiving DOAC therapy, contributing to more informed clinical decision-making. https://www.hrsonline.org/education/TheLead https://www.ahajournals.org/doi/10.1161/CIRCULATIONAHA.123.064556 Host Disclosure(s): D. Deepthy Varghese, MSN, ACNP, FNP, of Northside Hospital, is joined by Dr. Mikhael F. El-Chami, MD, FHRS of Emory University, School of Medicine, and Dr. Rohit Mehta, MD, FHRS, with Advocate Health to discuss the study evaluated the preclinical performance and safety of retrieving chronically implanted dual-chamber leadless pacemakers (LPs). A total of 18 LPs were implanted in 9 ovine subjects, and after approximately 2 years, all LPs were successfully retrieved using a dedicated transvenous retrieval catheter. The retrieval procedure duration ranged from 2.5 to 36.4 minutes. Postretrieval analysis showed minimal tissue disruption at implant sites, and no significant device-related complications or injuries were observed. The study concludes that the retrieval of helix-fixation dual-chamber LP systems was safe and effective, paving the way for future clinical studies on LP retrieval. https://www.hrsonline.org/education/TheLead https://www.ahajournals.org/doi/10.1161/CIRCEP.123.012232 Host Disclosure(s): D. The Act aims to address challenges faced by foster youth, such as homelessness and reliance on welfare programs. CareSource's donation follows a trend of corporate support for critical social programs, reflecting a commitment to improving community well-being. STORY 6: Georgia Power hikes prompt legislation to restore consumer advocate for PSC electricity rate cases Georgia Power customers will face higher electricity rates due to nuclear expansion and fuel costs, prompting legislative action to shift utility regulator responsibilities. Senate Bill 457 aims to create a consumer's utility counsel to advocate for the public in rate cases, responding to recent rate increases approved by the Public Service Commission (PSC). The bill seeks to ensure robust information is considered, although the PSC argues that existing advocacy staff already represents consumer interests effectively. Break 2: INGLES 4 STORY 4: Women get same exercise benefits as men but with less effort: study A recent study has found that women can reap the same benefits from exercise as men, but with less effort required. This research identified a "gender gap" in physical exertion, revealing that women can exercise less frequently than men and still achieve greater cardiovascular gains. The study, published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology (JACC), utilized data from over 400,000 U.S. adults collected between 1997 and 2019 by the National Health Interview Survey. The results showed that regular physical activity reduced mortality risk by 24% in women and 15% in men. Notably, the research indicated that men need to engage in moderate to vigorous activities like brisk walking or cycling for about five hours per week to reach their maximal survival benefit. In contrast, women can attain the same benefit with just two-and-a-half hours of similar activity per week. When it comes to weightlifting and other muscle-strengthening exercises, men peak at three sessions per week, while women only need one. Women also reach maximal survival benefit at 140 minutes of exercise per week, whereas men require twice that amount. STORY 5: Did religious people cope much better during the pandemic? A University of Cambridge study found that religious individuals coped better with the Covid-19 pandemic than non-religious ones. The mental health decline was 60% worse for non-believers. The research, which analyzed data from the UK and US, showed that those with strong religious beliefs experienced less unhappiness during the pandemic. The study suggests that religion can bolster self-esteem and coping skills in times of crisis. However, the benefits of religion were not observed in areas with strict lockdowns, indicating the importance of access to places of worship. The research highlights the role of religious faith in building resilience and providing hope during challenging times. Deepthy Varghese, MSN, ACNP, FNP, of Northside Hospital, is joined by Sammy Khatib, MD, Ochsner Clinic, Foundation Program, and William Whang, MD, FHRS, Mount Sinai Hospital, to discuss the PULSED AF study investigated the impact of monitoring strategies on atrial arrhythmia (AA) recurrence after pulsed field ablation (PFA) in atrial fibrillation (AF) patients. The study employed various monitoring approaches, including 24-hour Holter monitoring and symptomatic trans telephonic monitoring, revealing that freedom from all AAs varied significantly based on monitoring strategy. PFA demonstrated substantial efficacy, yielding zero burden in 69.4% of paroxysmal AF and 62.2% of persistent AF patients, with a median burden below 9%. Notably, patients with PAF and less than 10% AA burden experienced clinically meaningful quality of life (QoL) improvements, while persistent AF patients showed QoL enhancements regardless of burden. The study suggests that the choice of monitoring protocol influences the ≥30-second AA recurrence endpoint and highlights the association between low AA burden post-PFA, improved QoL, and reduced healthcare utilization related to AAs. Notably, higher AA burden correlated with increased instances of repeat ablations and cardioversions. https://www.hrsonline.org/education/TheLead https://www.heartrhythmjournal.com/article/S1547-5271(23)02248-8/fulltext Host Disclosure(s): D. Deepthy Varghese, MSN, ACNP, FNP, of Northside Hospital is joined by Dr. Matthew Kalscheur, MD, of the University of Wisconsin and Dr. Hawkins Gay, MD, MPH, of Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine discuss the study aimed to validate the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in identifying paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (AF) from 12-lead electrocardiograms (ECGs) in sinus rhythm (SR). The AI algorithm was trained on ECG data from a single center, including patients with and without AF. The dataset comprised 494,042 ECGs from 142,310 patients. Testing the model on the first ECG of each patient showed an accuracy of 78.1%, an area under the receiver-operating characteristic curve of 0.87, and an area under the precision-recall curve of 0.48. Performance varied with AF prevalence, demonstrating higher precision in high-risk groups (30% AF prevalence) and lower precision in low-risk groups (3% AF prevalence). The approach was robust when externally validated in another hospital. In conclusion, the AI-enabled ECG algorithm effectively identified paroxysmal AF in patients in sinus rhythm, showcasing potential clinical utility, particularly in high-risk populations. https://www.hrsonline.org/education/TheLead https://www.jacc.org/doi/10.1016/j.jacep.2023.04.008 Host Disclosure(s): D. Deepthy Varghese, MSN, ACNP, FNP, of Northside Hospital, is joined by guests Sheldon Cheskes MD, CCFP (EM), FCFP, Sunnybrook Research Institute, and Jason Grady, NRP of Northside Hospital to discuss the Association Between Number of Volunteer Responders and Interventions Before Ambulance Arrival for Cardiac Arrest. The study aimed to explore the relationship between the number of volunteer responders (VRs) arriving before Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and the likelihood of bystander cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and defibrillation during out-of-hospital cardiac arrests (OHCAs). The researchers analyzed OHCAs in two regions of Denmark and categorized them based on the arrival of VRs before EMS, with groups having 0, 1, 2, or 3 or more VRs. Using logistic regression adjusted for EMS response time, the study found that an increasing number of VRs arriving before EMS was associated with higher odds of bystander CPR and defibrillation. Specifically, the odds ratios (ORs) for bystander CPR and defibrillation increased as more VRs arrived before EMS, indicating a positive trend in the association. The study concluded that the presence of one or more VRs before EMS was linked to an increase in bystander CPR and defibrillation, with a notable trend towards increased defibrillation as the number of VRs increased. https://www.hrsonline.org/education/TheLead https://www.jacc.org/doi/10.1016/j.jacc.2022.11.047 Host Disclosure(s): D. Around 200 soldiers from the 108th have been activated from the unit's armories in Calhoun, Dalton, Cedartown, and Canton. The soldiers will undergo pre-deployment training at Fort Stewart, Texas, and Germany before arriving in Kosovo as part of the NATO Kosovo Force (KFOR) for a peacekeeping mission. Commercial: CHEROKEE CHAMBER - INGLES 9 STORY 6: Republican-Drawn Legislative Maps Come Under Fire The Georgia General Assembly's special redistricting session commenced with Democrats and watchdog groups criticizing Republican-backed proposed maps for the state House and Senate, claiming they are unfair to Black voters. Both maps aim to comply with a federal court ruling that declared previous maps violated the Voting Rights Act. Democrats argue that the proposed maps make unnecessary changes beyond the court order, while they have released an alternative map focusing on the specific districts identified in the court ruling. Critics also highlight extensive redrawing and incumbent pairings in the Republican-backed maps for partisan reasons. STORY 7: State Senate study committee recommends repealing CON law A committee in Georgia, comprising lawmakers, healthcare executives, and an insurance industry representative, has recommended repealing the state law governing hospital construction and medical services. The Senate Study Committee on Certificate of Need (CON) Reform believes that the decades-old CON law is hindering advances in healthcare delivery, especially in rural Georgia. The CON law, enacted in 1979 to reduce healthcare costs by avoiding duplication, requires applicants to demonstrate the need for a new medical facility or service in a community. The committee's recommendation for repeal or reform will now be considered by the full Senate during the 2024 legislative session. We'll have closing comments after this. Break 1: MOG STORY 1: Buford alum Elexa Bahr to face USWNT with Colombia after historic Women's World Cup run Elexa Bahr, a former Buford High School alum, has experienced a remarkable soccer journey, representing various countries in her career. After playing professional soccer in Colombia and Australia, she recently participated in the 2023 Women's World Cup as a part of Colombia's first-ever quarterfinal run. Currently playing for América de Cali in Colombia, Elexa was called up to the Colombian national team. Her ability to represent different nations, including the United States, Honduras, and Colombia, led to her becoming a key player for Colombia. Her family, including her parents, watched her games in the Women's World Cup despite the distance. Elexa's future goals include facing the U.S. women's national team and participating in the 2024 Olympics in Paris with her Colombian team. Her soccer journey has been an inspiration to her family, proving that anything is possible. STORY 2: Prosecutors Questions Lead To Mistrial In Peachtree Corners Gas Station Murder Case A mistrial has been declared in the trial of three suspects accused of murdering Bradley Coleman, a coach and Norcross high school graduate, during a failed carjacking in July 2022. The mistrial was declared due to actions by prosecutors during the trial. Prosecutors recalled a witness and appeared to lead her into saying her boyfriend had committed the murder, which the defense raised objections to. The judge agreed with the defense and declared a mistrial for all three defendants. The DA's Office plans to retry the case, but the mistrial may add tension to the race for district attorney in the upcoming election. STORY 3: Lake Lanier, Coolray Field to host National Professional Fishing League finale The 2023 National Professional Fishing League is concluding its schedule from October 26 to 28 on Lake Lanier, hosted by the Gwinnett County Sports Commission. The event includes community outreach on October 25, practice sessions from October 22 to 24, and main events from Thursday to Saturday. This monoclonal antibody prevents RSV hospitalizations by 70%, but supply constraints are limiting its availability. The only manufacturer, Sanofi, recently announced a supply shortage, even though the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommended nirsevimab for every child under 8 months during the RSV season. The CDC's response to the shortage is to prioritize high-risk infants. The shortage highlights systemic issues in children's healthcare, and the article emphasizes the need to prioritize child health, citing the rapid response to COVID-19 for adults and the consequences of the vaccine delay for young children. STORY 5: New blood test can help diagnose bipolar disorder Researchers at Cambridge University have developed a blood test to help diagnose bipolar disorder, which is often misdiagnosed as major depressive disorder. The test, used in combination with an online psychiatric assessment, identified biomarkers associated with the condition and was effective at diagnosing bipolar disorder in patients. While a psychiatric assessment is the most effective way to diagnose bipolar disorder, patients often face long waits and delays. The blood test, which is still a proof of concept, could be used to differentiate between the two disorders and provide quicker and more accurate diagnoses. The hospital contacted police after friends brought in a 20-year-old man from Norcross with a gunshot wound. Unfortunately, the man succumbed to his injuries. Detectives believe the shooting occurred at a business along Jimmy Carter Boulevard, although the victim's identity has not been released. Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact them or provide tips anonymously through Crime Stoppers, which offers a cash reward for information leading to an arrest and indictment. STORY 7: Economic Signals: Understanding the Leading Economic Indicators The U.S. economy presents mixed signals, with some indicators suggesting a recession while others show growth. To make economic predictions, financial analysts and economists rely on the Leading Economic Indicators (LEI). The LEI, published by The Conference Board, combines 10 data sources, both financial and non-financial, such as the S&P 500 Index, unemployment claims, and average consumer expectations. These components cover various aspects of economic activity and provide insight into future economic conditions. However, the LEI is not a perfect system, as it doesn't provide precise timing for economic changes, and indicators can fluctuate without leading to a recession. While investors can use the LEI for tactical decisions, their overall portfolio strategy should remain consistent in different economic conditions. We'll have final thoughts after this. Dr. Philip Vinson, an economist at Georgia Gwinnett College, believes that raising interest rates is effective in addressing inflation, even if it doesn't immediately lower prices. Instead, it aims to reduce the rate of price increases. While inflation has dropped from its peak of 9% to around 3.2%, it remains above the Fed's 2% target.
