Cunduce: Paula Nieto y William Saavedra

In the early days of Pipcorn, everything went well right for the brand. They landed a deal on Shark Tanks, won distribution at Whole Foods, and saw everything pointing up and to the right. But when an investor left the company with nothing but empty promises after a 5-month process, the team at Pipcorn learned that they have to fight for their business. I sat down with Teresa Tsou, the co- founder and co-CEO of Pipcorn to talk about their journey and how they ultimately shook off the no’s in order to fight for themselves.

Unlike traditional demo days or Shark Tanks which are, “here’s how smart I am, please give me money,” a Lessons Learned presentation tells the teams’ stories of a 10-week journey of hard-won learning and discovery. For all the teams in a normal year it’s a roller coaster narrative of what happens when you discover that everything you thought you knew on day one was wrong and how they eventually got it right.

In his candid chat with host Clare Freeman, Paul explains what a difference hockey has truly made to him and his family’s life. Sports writer Paul Brown spends his working hours following football both in the UK and in Europe. But in the early hours he’s glued to the screen necking coffees watching his beloved San Jose Sharks. With a host of rising stars, a few hungry veterans and a goalie who’s snapped back into action - is it now or never for the Sharks? Plus Paul name drops a few of his favourite Finnish players right now - notably Kaapo Kakko with his hat trick in the World Championships. (pictured, credit: Petr David Josek AP) And Mark Rackham aka Mark UK Leaf takes a few minutes out of his AHL Playoff coverage to discuss what next for Toronto Maple Leafs, the Stanley Cup playoffs so far and Team GB’s rise to the IIHF World Championships out in Slovakia. CSG started out in cable billing and over time has transformed into a media company. With the industry moving so quickly, they couldn’t wait 12-18 months to deliver value to the customers. They needed to ramp up their delivery agility. Jill Edmunson, Enterprise Portfolio Management leader at CSG, and her colleague Lesa Phillips, an Agile coach and RTE, sat down with Agile Amped to share some fascinating insights into this Agile journey. CSG’s vision statement “make work visible, connect people to our strategy and driving engagement and excitement” is baked into everything they do. Edmunson and Phillips describe some unique forums they’ve implemented to connect strategy to execution in the form of Shark Tanks, Think Tanks and Do Tanks. You’ll also learn more about engaging all levels of the organization through showcases at PI Planning, CSG Café used for agility training, and how to build connections and partnerships. Accenture | SolutionsIQ’s Leslie Morse hosts at the Business Agility Conference in New York City. Is your organization full of Hackathons, Shark Tanks, Incubators and other innovation programs, but none have changed the trajectory of your company/agency? Over the last few years Pete Newell and I have helped build innovation programs inside large companies, across the U.S. federal science agencies and in the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community. But it is only recently that we realized why some programs succeed and others are failing.

At 14 Warrior Transition Units across the country, the Army has used a mix of traditional medical and psychological care, adaptive sports and physical therapy to help ill and wounded soldiers transition back into military service or civilian life. But the Warrior Transition Battalion at Madigan Army Medical Center in Washington State has added a slightly unusual activity to the mix: Diving with sharks. The program is a partnership with a local aquarium, and its meant to treat pain, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. What you’re going to learn: The productivity secrets of self-made millionaires and high achievers (habits, hacks, time tricks) What Kevin Harrington, (inventor of the infomercial and Shark Tank original co-host) told me was his #1 secret to extreme productivity How successful people measure what their time is worth Key Quotes: “Our behaviors follow our beliefs.” “Time never comes back.” “Master your minutes to master your life.” YOUR FREE BONUS: 1440 Ready-To-Print Sign Read Full Transcript Welcome everyone to the very first episode of the Extreme Productivity podcast. I'm Kevin Kruse and I've interviewed over 200 billionaires, millionaires, entrepreneurs, Olympic athletes, and even Ivy League straight-A students to find out just what their secrets to extreme productivity are. Today we're going to talk about how the number 1440 can change your life. I'm also going to share what Kevin Harrington, who's worth a mere $500 million, told me was the secret to his massive productivity and success. First, if you want to achieve your goals faster than every before, grab your smartphone and text the word 'achieve' to 44222 and I'll send you the 1 page planning tool that millionaires use to schedule their day. Just text the word 'achieve' to 44222 or you can visit the website, productivity-podcast.com. What are the productivity secretes of self made multi-millionaires and other super high achievers? You're probably interested in hearing about things to do. Habits, hacks, little time tricks, maybe a few apps to download, but the single most important thing when it comes to time and productivity isn't a tactic or even some trick, it's a shift in your mindset. Don't bail out on me just yet, this will get practical. Our behaviors follow our beliefs. Write this down, this is gospel: Our behaviors follow our beliefs. Listen, if I believe smoking cigarettes makes me look really cool and keeps me looking skinny and good in my black Armani suits, I just might be up to a pack a day at this point. But, if my belief, if I believe that cigarettes are nails in my coffin, they're little cancer sticks and they make me and my Armani suit stink, well, then I'm going to be less likely to take up the habit of smoking. Our behaviors follow our beliefs. All of the highly successful people that I studied when I talked to them about time management, when I talked to them about productivity, the one thing they did all have in common is that they think about time differently. I would even say they experience time differently. Kevin Harrington, he's best known as the inventor of the infomercial. He's one of the Shark Tanks original co-hosts, he had this to say, he told me, "Before I decide to take on a new project, I analyze it. How much of my time will this take and what is my financial upside potential? I create a dollar-per-minute analysis. Hopefully a million dollar per week upside." That is crazy. He's looking for a million dollar per...
