Greetings! This week's program features lots of new releases in varied genres in addition to another track from the Larks' Tongues In Aspic (The Complete Recording Sessions) 50th Anniversary release. LTIA has always been one of my favorite KC albums and now even more so with the new Steven Wilson and old David Singleton mixes. It only made sense to precede that track with a new take on the KC classic, "Starless" from Crimson alumnus, David Cross from his latest, "Ice Blue, Silver Sky". Enjoy! Ex-King Crimson Violinist David Cross Announces the Release of New Studio Album “Ice Blue, Silver Sky” OUT NOW! Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of Interviewing the Legends I'm your host Ray Shasho. Initially inspired by Leadbelly, the Beatles, Bartok, Coltrane and his church organist father, David became an irrepressible improvisor and experimenter. His subsequent immersion in rock music introduced him to a new, vast pool of expressive possibilities. Currently, he plays a half fretted Violectra electric violin with 5 strings and an octave drop pedal, giving him a pitch range from the bottom of the cello to the top of the violin. David Cross was a member of King Crimson during the 1970s and continues to have a loyal fan base. He's best known for playing violin on the albums “Larks' Tongues in Aspic” and “Starless and Bible Black”. The musicians featured on his new album “Ice Blue, Silver Sky” include Jinian Wilde, Mick Paul, Steve Roberts and a special guest appearance on two tracks by David Jackson of Van Der Graaf Generator. This new studio album features new tracks along with new recordings of the two classic King Crimson tracks “Exiles” and “Starless”. The album title refers to a lyric in Starless and King Crimson lyricist Richard Palmer-James contributes to the lyrics on this album. This week we continue our 3 part look at the best way to fine tune your action on your guitar. Last week Kiran took us on a deep dive through adjusting the truss rod, this is the device in the the guitar neck that allows us to set the relief, or curvature of the next, allowing enough space for the strings to vibrate above the frets. Step 2, and this weeks topic, is the guitar's bridge. This is where the strings pass over the saddles and are then stretched across to the nut. How do we set the saddle height correctly, what can we do to adjust them and what types of bridge are there and how are they adjusted? As well as all this we have our usual drawn out catch up on the week passed, and I have a little rant about the Silver Sky guitar from PRS, again. Anyway…For links to all our important stuff, check out our LinkTree...https://linktr.ee/guitarsmartsRemember to please subscribe wherever you listen to your podcasts, and come to see us on our social media channels below:https://www.facebook.com/Guitarsmartshttps://www.instagram.com/guitar_smarts/Have a very merry time playing guitar this week, and we will see you soon!Support the show
This episode of Hopp on Calls with Kevin Hopp is the first part of our cold calling session with Shane Mahi, Founder and CEO of SalesDRIIVN. They reach out to prospects, with Kevin calling on behalf of his client Silver Sky while Shane calls his list of CROs. As he's selling in cybersecurity, Kevin shares an analogy of selling fire extinguishers not to people with their hair on fire, but to people who anticipate the fires and want to be prepared.HIGHLIGHT QUOTESSell a fire extinguisher to people who want to PREVENT fires - Kevin: "If you only go after people that have problems, if you're only looking for people that have their hair on fire, you're never going to sell a fire extinguisher. Musical acts currently filling arenas fall into a few categories: pop, electronic, country, and legacy. The notion of modern or contemporary rock bands packing enormo-domes feels like a fossil, but don't tell that to platinum-selling Shinedown, who's been packing thousands-of-seats houses for years. The group was founded by vocalist Brent Smith in 2001, after his previous band, Dreve, disbanded). He enlisted Jasin Todd (guitarist), Brad Stewart (bass), and Barry Kerch (drums). Zach Myers joined the fold in 2005 (as a touring member). He and current bassist Eric Bass (no joke) first earned album credits with 2008's smash The Sound of Madness. (Rig Rundown alumnus https://www.premierguitar.com/gear/rig-rundown-nick-perri (Nick Perri) was a short-time member of Shinedown and earned lead guitar credits on TSOM before fully handing over the 6-string reins to Myers.) The quartet's ability to fuse post-grunge pyrotechnics, four-on-the-floor rockers, and glossy, arms-in-the-air anthems, and their dynamic acoustic performances, have earned them 17 No. 1 hits on Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart. (If you include the other Billboard charts, they've got three more.) They also have three platinum albums (three more are certified gold in the U.S.), and six additional platinum singles. If guitar truly is in a slump in pop culture and the mainstream, somebody forgot to tell Shinedown. When PG's Chris Kies first talked tone tools with Myers and Bass in https://www.premierguitar.com/videos/rig-rundowns/shinedown (2013), they had some gear, and even some cool signature stuff. But this time, the war chest was on another level. Before their May 4 headline show at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena, supporting their new, seventh album, Planet Zero, the duo flexed their rockstar credentials and carted out 40-plus instruments. Myers contends he uses every one of his guitars on a nightly basis. And Bass details his signature line of Prestige basses, which incorporate an ingenious thumb rest. Myers also shows off an irreplaceable PRS created by the late American fashion designer and entrepreneur Virgil Abloh (Off-White), and he explains how a custom-painted https://www.premierguitar.com/gear/prs-silver-sky-john-mayer-review (Silver Sky) earned him some serious eye rolls and scoffs. Plus, their techs break down the power and might that help them rock the rafters. Brought to you by https://ddar.io/XSE.RR (D'Addario XS Electric Strings).
Chasing Tone - Guitar Podcast About Gear, Effects, Amps and Tone
Brian, Blake, and Richard are back for an all-new episode of the Chasing Tone Podcast!Firstly, an apology. We tried something on this episode and it didn't work. Consequently the people who are responsible for this atrocity have been fired. And the people responsible for hiring and subsequently firing them have also been fired as a precaution. We apologise most profusely and it wont happen again. Richard has a few minor but controversial rants after not feeling the love on various internet forums and Brian finds this most amusing as he taunts Richard from the security of his fortress of polystyrene. This serves us right for recording on a Monday. Never again. Have you ever taken an inordinate amount of time to learn a piece on the guitar? Richard mentions the Failure to Fracture blog and then dives off in a completely different direction before we discover that Blake has been unwell and not just in the brain.Brian is obsessed with making every band sound like Nickleback and he tells us why. Well kinda. Its all about riding the Tik Tok train and not engaging in the meme wars! But if you are getting into a war, you are going to want the Martinsville Terror, aka Billy Bob Wampler on your side. Mr. Tic Tac, Chestweasles, Brian's adult stories, Phil Collins' worst album, The Silver Sky, Eddie Vedder...it's all in this week's Chasing Tone!We are on Patreon now too!Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/chasingtonepodcast)DIY mods:https://modyourownpedal.com/collections/booksFind us at:https://www.wamplerpedals.com/https://www.instagram.com/WamplerPedals/https://www.facebook.com/groups/wamplerfanpage/Youtube:https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdVrg4Wl3vjIxonABn6RfWwContact us at: podcast@wamplerpedals.comSupport the show (https://www.patreon.com/chasingtonepodcast)

Now its been a couple of weeks since Paul Reed Smith Guitars released their much anticipated and highly publicised SE model of the John Mayer Signature Guitar, the Silver Sky. 1. Earnings report for TSLA tonight. Looking to retest the prior $900 high. It's just a matter of whether it exceeds its new high. 2. Bitcoin new high after bitcoin etf. $40k was defended. It's not going down to $27k or $20k in the near future. New all-time highs on the BITO ETF. It's based off of Bitcoin futures. It traded over $1 billion its first day. More volume coming for Bitcoin futures. Definitely overbought. 3. Silver on fire today. Gold up 16.50 on the spot. Silver gapped and finished above yesterday's high. It's broken two whole numbers and is 25 next? Then $27. Copper is getting close to its all-time highs made in May. If it exceeds it, there's a lot more upside potential. It's an inflation play. The two key commodities to watch out for are copper and natgas and also oil. Europe is facing a potential disaster. Horror stories on the way.

Chasing Tone - Guitar Podcast About Gear, Effects, Amps and Tone
Brian welcomes Wampler’s own Jason Wilding and Alex Clay for another episode of Chasing Tone.It has been a mixed bag Summer NAMM weekend for Brian. From famous visitors at the Wampler booth to one of them being shut down by the noise police, some video fun with some well known gear Youtubers and hanging with the Wooo girls. Brian expands on the experience that was NAMM.Yes, Alex sold another Silver Sky, in fact he buys and sells a lot of gear. Not only does that spark a conversation about the mindset to be able to let gear go, but also a discussion about Reverbs new owner and the direction the famous gear sales site may be going.Jazz is hard y’all, Wampler branded New Balances, and be careful opening anonymous packages. It is all in this week’s Chasing Tone Podcast.Find us at: http://www.WamplerPedals.comhttp://www.Facebook.com/WamplerPedalshttp://www.Twitter.com/WamplerPedalshttp://www.Instagram.com/WamplerPedalshttp://www.Facebook.com/ChasingTonePodcasthttp://www.facebook.com/groups/wamplerfanpage/

Chasing Tone - Guitar Podcast About Gear, Effects, Amps and Tone
Brian has a chat with everyone’s favorite Brit, Jason Wilding on this episode of the Chasing Tone PodcastBrian has gotten his hands on a Soldano Amp that has caused quite a reaction from Brian himself. This leads to quite a conversation between Brian and Jason. Do you run a Soldano through a 2x12 or not? There was a time that Wampler had a lot of “stortion” pedals. While the names may have not been attention grabbers, some of the circuits and tones certainly were. Is there a chance for some re-releases? Brian discusses the idea.We swear the Terraform is coming. Jason and Brian give an update on the latest developments. And Jason shares his very favorite effect that he cannot wait to get your hands.Alex may have a Silver Sky addiction, The Brent Mason PRS signature guitar, and a limited run of Hairstortions?
