Want to learn more about watches? email us at support@chriswarnes.com We buy, sell, trade, consign, service, source and repair. Do you want to work with us on a timepiece? email us support@chriswarnes.com In today's review, I'm diving deep into one of the most iconic and coveted pieces in Rolex's Daytona collection – the Rolex Daytona Platinum Ice Blue 126506. Now, full disclosure: I'm not usually a big Daytona fan and rarely wear them. But this one? It's an exception, and here's why. This watch is substantial—being crafted in platinum, it's much heavier than standard stainless steel sports models like the 116500LN or 126500LN Daytona. In person, it's simply striking, an absolute show-stopper worthy of its six-figure market price. The open case back on the 126506 is a feature that Rolex rarely gifts us, allowing a stunning view of the movement. And let's talk about those sub-dials: there's a subtle difference in the brown color on this model compared to previous versions, giving it a unique, elegant edge. The 116 had options for two dial styles, with or without baguette brown sub-dials. But on the 126506, the dials are consistent, offering either style with or without baguettes. Personally, I have a slight preference for the 116, but this piece has truly grown on me. This Daytona feels stealthy, classy, and elegant with its 40mm size and understated appearance—especially compared to, say, the bolder “John Mayer” Daytona. It doesn't scream six figures, which I appreciate. Rolex's decision to include the glass case back, sacrificing a bit of water resistance, was a bold move. Let's be real: no one's diving in this beauty. So, what do we think of this masterpiece? I'm rating it a 9.3 out of 10—one of the highest scores I've given, even topping the “White Panda” at an 8. Want one? Be prepared to wait; getting one from an AD is no easy feat! Tune in and let me know in the comments: What would you rate the Daytona Platinum Ice Blue 126506? In this show Chris shares The Iced Blue Navitimer Overview Ref# A32310 Launched in 1952 for pilots, the Breitling Navitimer is one of the most iconic watches ever made. Despite its large size and tendency to get bumped, it remains a favorite, especially in the 46mm version. Breitling's latest updates to the Navitimer are impressive. They removed the chronograph but kept a balanced dial, and the centralized 24-hour scale on the GMT version gives it a streamlined look. The ice blue dial is stunning in person, especially in good lighting. Technical Data - Category: Unisex pilot's watch - Size Range: 41mm (available from 32mm to 48mm) - MSRP: $5,850 (around $6,300 with tax) - Our Price: $4,900 (brand new, never worn) – 25% off, saving $1,400 If interested, comment "Ice blue" below and we'll assist you. - Features: - 41mm stainless steel case - Blue alligator leather strap - Screw-down caseback - 30-meter water resistance (not recommended for swimming or diving) - Blue dial with date display, luminous hands, and markers - Breitling automatic caliber B01 with a 70-hour power reserve - 22mm lug width The Navitimer holds its value well but won't appreciate. It's a stylish watch for everyday wear and various occasions like going out, dinners, and formal events. It offers great wrist presence without breaking the bank. Overall rating: 8/10. LTIA has always been one of my favorite KC albums and now even more so with the new Steven Wilson and old David Singleton mixes. Ex-King Crimson Violinist David Cross Announces the Release of New Studio Album “Ice Blue, Silver Sky” OUT NOW! Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of Interviewing the Legends I'm your host Ray Shasho. Initially inspired by Leadbelly, the Beatles, Bartok, Coltrane and his church organist father, David became an irrepressible improvisor and experimenter.  His subsequent immersion in rock music introduced him to a new, vast pool of expressive possibilities.  Currently, he plays a half fretted Violectra electric violin with 5 strings and an octave drop pedal, giving him a pitch range from the bottom of the cello to the top of the violin. David Cross was a member of King Crimson during the 1970s and continues to have a loyal fan base. He's best known for playing violin on the albums “Larks' Tongues in Aspic” and “Starless and Bible Black”. The musicians featured on his new album “Ice Blue, Silver Sky” include Jinian Wilde, Mick Paul, Steve Roberts and a special guest appearance on two tracks by David Jackson of Van Der Graaf Generator. This new studio album features new tracks along with new recordings of the two classic King Crimson tracks “Exiles” and “Starless”. The album title refers to a lyric in Starless and King Crimson lyricist Richard Palmer-James contributes to the lyrics on this album.

--- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/pimentapodcast/message
