The Break80 Podcast made its way to Florida for the 2026 PGA Show in Orlando. It was our first time at the PGA Show and we were both floored and overwhelmed with this golf industry insiders event. Around 1 million square feet of golf industry stuff was there. From clothes and apparel to clubs and technology, we will talk about all that we saw and did at our first ever PGA Show. While in Florida we went and played Cabot Citrus Farms and Streamsong. Both courses and properties were amazing and we will break down everything we thought about them, including some wild nature out at Streamsong. Last but not least, it was another win for Scottie Scheffler, which is becoming the norm for the world number one player. The PGA Tour kicked off the 2026 season in Hawaii at the Sony Open. Chris Gotterup took home the title and moved to number 17 in the OWGR. We discuss the event and our thoughts on the golf course and Chris Gotterup. Nacho Elvira won on the DP World Tour this week after a collapse by Shane Lowry on the final hole. Rory McIlroy could not capitalize on a great opening round, and finished two shots back of Elvira. All this professional golf and the Good Good guys go to California. Hour 1 The Yankees were swept by the Marlins, leading to increased pressure on manager Aaron Boone and fan frustration over accountability and sloppy play since the World Series. Boomer criticized Alex Rodriguez's past coddling. The Mets lost 2 of 3 to the Giants. Jerry Jones dismissed Micah Parsons' trade request, which Boomer disagreed with. The segment concluded with a Cameron Young anecdote and a Marlins fan's gratitude. Hour 2 Gio and Boomer won't go to Streamsong due to show obligations. Callers discuss the Yankees' struggles, with Boomer defending Brian Cashman and Aaron Boone. Jerry's update is sidetracked by Boomer trying to make Gio look bad. The Mets were swept by San Diego after two big trades, and Francisco Lindor is struggling. Shohei Ohtani left his start with cramps. Jerry recapped yesterday's trades. The Hall of Fame game is tonight. Gilbert Arenas was arrested. Mad Dog sided with Boomer on Luka. Stu Feiner and Frank the Tank showed up during Boomer's Luka rant. Shannon Sharpe was fired by ESPN, and Chad Ochocinco wants the job. Hour 4 Stu Feiner and Frank the Tank join Boomer and Gio. Frank, a Dolphins fan, and Stu, optimistic about NY teams, discuss the Mets' trade deadline, the Giants' Super Bowl XLII win, and their current Giants camp visit with Eli Manning. Jerry provides an update, almost having another golf course accident. The Yankees won despite Austin Wells' baserunning error. Quinnen Williams left Jets practice with a calf injury. Boomer speculates on what's next. Deion Sanders got emotional about making a will. Boomer and Gio have better flight seats to Pebble Beach. Moment of the Day: Gio and Russell Wilson recreate Mr. Unlimited. Gio critiques Boomer and Jerry for falling into the typical training camp trap, warning them not to believe in the Giants unless they win one of their first two games. Lynch Municipal Golf Course is planning to engage residents during the winter season. Also, The Club at Olde Cypress is readying for a grand transformation. A multi-million-dollar clubhouse renaissance at the Naples, Fla. club will redefine luxury living in Southwest Florida. Among the many highlights of the project are the addition of a 2,500-sq.-ft. covered bar and dining area on the first floor and anew 2,000 sq. ft. kitchen to support the casual and fine dining options Executive Chef Caesar Fernandez and his team serve daily. Cobblestone Creek Country Club in Victor, N.Y. unveils golf course transformations, clubhouse upgrades, and a new pickleball facility. Recent endeavors at the club have centered around a new vision that encapsulates their core values—remain a family-focused, golf-first club that offers a member experience unparalleled in the marketplace. Colin Burns had only 4.5 years of experience in hospitality when he applied for the club manager's position at Winged Foot, one of the most storied private golf clubs in the nation, if not the world. And, after an eight-month search process, he was selected as the club's next general manager – all 31 years ago when Colin had just crossed the line into his thirties. He recalls the president of the club asking him if Colin weren't a tad young for the job. Colin replied: It's not a permanent condition. As we watch a generation of these long-serving club managers move into retirement or consulting – in addition to Colin, we lost Brian Kroh just this month at John's Island Club in Vero Beach, Florida – we are left with a legacy from which we can all learn. Colin's experience is second to none. He managed the US Open during the height of Covid. Five full years of planning all going down the drain as he had to work with the Governor of New York and plan the tournament without spectators as Bryson DeChambeau put his indelible mark on the sport. Now as he joins executive search firm GGA, Colin discusses how every club has a different environment and that search committees, managers and search firms should understand the club's culture first before trying to match a candidate to the club. Do Things with People, Not to Them If you really desire a quality organization you should do things with people, not to them. Burns has put this as his central motif throughout his career. And, with that teamwork sentiment, Colin points out that the hierarchy of a private members club staff doesn't always equate to salary levels. The director of golf, tennis, squash, or even agronomy, may indeed be the highest paid member of staff at many clubs. And what's even more meaningful to club staff members than base compensation? Housing is top of Colin's list and finds it the top of his staff members' list as well. Retiring To a Zenith at Apogee And finally, Apogee means zenith or the highest point of development – and Colin's new project is certainly a zenith of physical land development and a highlight of a continuing, outstanding career. Originally named COO for an incredible project based in Hobe Sound, Florida, now senior advisor, Colin is truly excited about Apogee. It's a three-course extravaganza – or as he calls it “Streamsong on Steroids.” Designers Gil Hanse, Jim Wagner, Mike Davis and Tom Fazio and Kyle Phillips have teamed up with financial backing from Dolphins owner Steve Ross. Colin takes us through the plans and the vastness of this incredible project, and how this team is betting on South Florida moving up to Martin County in the very near future beyond Jupiter and toward sleepy Stuart.

The renovation now offers enhanced aesthetics with strategic bunker placement, challenging green surrounds and larger greens for a variety of pin placements. “The course design reflects the latest trends to give a lot more open space around the green, and that means golfers will have a lot of variety to approach the shot,” said Marty DeAngelo, Senior Director of Golf at Grey Oaks.
