In this episode, Tom Foxley shares a deeply personal journey into mastering the mindset of success, especially for those of us who've struggled with hitting glass ceilings, plateauing, or feeling stuck despite trying everything. Tom reveals the missing link in most personal growth efforts and explains why some strategies—whether meditation, therapy, or mindset work—only take some people so far. He dives into the three critical zones of change that every business owner, athlete, or high-performer must understand to unlock their full potential: the nervous system, the stories we tell ourselves, and the philosophies we live by.  Tom challenges the traditional approach to personal development, showing why mindset work alone isn't enough if the body isn't regulated first, and how these levels must be addressed in the right order to create lasting transformation. Tune in to discover why personal growth can feel so elusive and what truly makes success inevitable. This episode is a must-listen if you're ready to stop spinning your wheels and master the mentality needed to thrive in both business and life. --------- Blog Link: https://www.tomfoxley.me/post/why-personal-growth-fails-the-3-hidden-zones-you-must-master-to-truly-transform

In my mind, the podcast you're about to listen to could be the most important podcast I've ever recorded. I'll prep you, it's a bit of an emotional roller coaster. So be warned. The emotional highs and lows are worth it though because the lessons are the ones we all need to hear. I haven't stopped talking about it with my friends and family since I finished it up. If you've ever wondered what really makes a good life… …or what people really regret in their final years… …or what most people wish they had done differently in their lives, then this is the podcast for you.   Today, I am interviewing Heath Piper, the founder of Playback Interviews. Heath interviews the life stories of the elderly so their families have a deeply personal memoir. Even though these interviews are strictly confidential to the families, Heath has given us an insight into the lessons that have moved him most, both emotionally and forward in life. This podcast is rife with stories and lessons. --- Before I get to the show, I want to give you a very quick update on my coaching services because things are shifting.   The Adventurepreneur Collective has evolved and has become what I've always been longing to coach: how to be who you're supposed to be. We cover three essential topics: how to stop living a life that doesn't make you into who you're supposed to be, how to stop feeling frantic, imprecise and rushed, and how to rid yourself of an unclear mind.   Anyway, here's the update: I'm changing the way I deliver this coaching & making it far more of a deep experience. I'm only working with those who apply & fit the bill, and I'm limiting the membership to 40 members at any one time. What's more, I'm only going to be accepting 4 new sign ups per month. The group is currently 15 strong, with another two joining in the April batch. So there's only two more spaces to be had before May. If you're interested in exploring what more freedom, self mastery, and effectiveness would do in your life, shoot me a message on Instagram. You'll need to head to instagram and search for my name, Tom Foxley. --- Now, let's get on with an incredible show with Heath Piper, I think you're going to love this one.

What separates success from failure has less to do with talent and effort and more to do with how we can handle the task at hand. Yet many people overlook the importance of going into each task with a clear intent and expectation. Negative self talk, overzealous expectations, and the misunderstanding of how our THOUGHTS manifest into our ACTIONS keeps many people stuck.Developing the discipline to take a few short minutes to train your brain may make the difference in not only your next training session, your next meal, or your next competition, but also the joy and excitement we get out of the pursuit of those things. Stefi is an incredible human. She is one of those rare breeds who seemingly excels in multiple areas of life. Plus, she's a lovely human being. Stefi is a 25x world record holding powerlifter and the first woman in the history of the sport to deadlift 4.4 times her bodyweight. She recently took a break from the platform and transitioned to professional boxing (1-0-1). She is also a doctor of physical therapy and exercise physiologist who is passionate about education and bringing her audience a "no B.S." evidence-based view of all things training and nutrition through her company, HYBRID Performance Method. Stefi is also the co-author of Back in Motion with Dr. Ian Kaplan and co-host of the HYBRID Unlimited podcast. The main topic of conversation: how a beneficial mindset is often found between two oppositional factors: Hard work and self-compassion Professionalism and relaxing Masculinity and femininity Force and passivity Recovery and work It's a balancing act that we must seek to maintain. We also discuss: Self-doubt and how to deal with it Trusting the process Those moments of discovery which are uncomfortable Never loving powerlifting Femininity in a “masculine” sport, and identity challenges around that.

Coach Tom Foxley is the Founder of Mindset Rx`d and helps athletes perform at their best both physically and mentally. He`s worked with athletes at the highest levels of the CrossFit Games, Jiu Jitsu, boxing, and others, so we had a great time diving deep into building a powerful mindset, dealing with pain, and ending self-sabotage. Max Out Insights: Your performance comes down to your story - the beliefs you have about yourself and the world. Limiting beliefs sabotage your ability to succeed when it matters most If you`re struggling mentally at crunch time, it`s because you haven`t addressed it outside of crunch time. If you want to be great it competition, you need to prepare to be great in practice. Competing from a place of lack/not being good enough can derail our performance. Instead, switch to a place of gratitude for past performance. Focus on the skills/talents/opportunities that you do have rather than the ones you don`t, and you will see your motivation soar When you`re lost in the woods (metaphorically or literally), don`t start by asking “Where should I go?” Instead ask first: “Where am I? What`s my point A?” Then: “Where am I going?” What is your story? I`m not good enough? I never manage to do this? I`m a perfectionist? Observe your Inner Athlete/your subconscious beliefs: Journaling is a great tool to identify what`s on your mind. If there`s something you don`t want to write, write it down immediately to shine light on the shadows. We tend to reject chaos because it scares us, but it`s also the only way to grow Max Out Quotes: “If we put you in the right state, optimal performance just happens.” “If we can create harmony amongst the different areas of our lives, our performance just steps up in the areas that you want it to.” “The way we grow is by moving from order to chaos and thereby increasing our areas of competence.” “Chaos is just order waiting to be deciphered.” “When the gratitude for the things you do have outweighs the yearning for the things you don`t have, that`s when you`ll feel good.” “It`s in the darkness that we find the biggest treasure. To find out what you`re truly capable of, you need to venture into the unknown.”

Tom Foxley works with functional athletes on their mindset; essentially giving athletes the thoughts which serve them instead of falling back on the same thought patterns which keep them stuck. His athletes are of all levels: from those in their first few weeks of training to competitors at The CrossFit Games. He has spent the last year touring his homeland of the UK and also the rest of Europe, presenting his Mindset Rx’d Seminar to over 500 athletes as well as speaking at the HQ’s of banks, businesses and communities. His podcast has hosted the biggest names in functional fitness like Kelly Starrett, Carl Paoli and Julien Pineau to more left field examples of success including marketing genius Seth Godin, bestselling author Scott Carney and scientist Dr. Andy Galpin. Tom’s mission is to show athletes their true potential, then give them the tools to achieve it.   Website: https://www.mindsetrxd.com/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/mindsetrxd/ Instagram: @tomfoxley Podcast: www.mindsetrxd.com/podcast ________________________ Remember to connect with us... www.LifestyleLocker.com www.Lifestylelocker.com/tomfoxley www.facebook.com/drjoshhandt www.instagram.com/drjoshhandt www.twitter.com/drjoshhandt remember to leave a 5 star review on iTunes for us! http://bit.ly/LifestyleLockerRadio REMEMBER TO CHECK OUT OUR Program: The Lifestyle Locker 45 Day Endurance Challenge HERE have you ever wanted to run longer distances without the pain of running longer distances? As a kid, Tom Foxley was diagnosed with a heart condition that doctors said could kill him. That news turned Tom into a weak, timid 14-year-old. This lasted until at age 17 a college professor read an extract from a book. The extract flipped how Tom viewed the world and himself. He learned to embrace intensity and discomfort. Tom changed his life by mastering his mindset. He joined an elite branch of the British Military before setting up Inner Athlete Performance Camps and Mindset RX'd Seminars where he trains elite athletes.   See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Welcome to the Alpha Movement Podcast. My name is Tom Foxley and this is another episode in the Mindset Rx'd series. In the minset Rx'd series, I'm going to show you the building blocks of the Champ's mindset and how to apply that to your sport. We'll be talking to the best coaches, athletes and experts in the world to show you the steps to mastering your inner athlete. On today's episode, I am joined by Jason Philips. He works with a lot of top performers in the CrossFit world as well as the general public. He's also been through a lot of personal struggles as you will see. What I like about his approach is that it's so common sense. He doesn't force square pegs into round holes but approaches nutrition with common sense. Providing a great balance between all the far leaning thoughts on nutrition. Today, we discuss the psychology of diet. How do we develop consistency in our diet? Why do people fall of track? What struggles do people typically come across? We also tackle some big subjects such as eating disorders. All in all, this was one of my favourite episodes of recent times and I'm sure loads of you will get some golden nuggets from Jason. So, let's get on with the show. --------------- Intensity Tolerance: https://www.amazon.com/Intensity-Tolerance-Yourself-Believed-Possible-ebook/dp/B06XK8T95G/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1491570278&sr=8-3&keywords=tom+foxley   The "Impossible" Art of Consistency: https://www.amazon.com/dp/1544780540/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1491570278&sr=8-2&keywords=tom+foxley
