Überall in Deutschland? Nein! The most famous man to be featured on To Catch a Predator was Lorne Armstrong, who became the subject of The Church of Cawd (an online community). Once Lorne Armstrong showed up at the sting house in Bowling Green Kentucky during the To Catch a Predator investigation, his life would never be the same again. The TCAP community was born and will live on forever.BasedShaman has read many To Catch a Predator Chat Logs and analyzed them as well. The National Institute of Mental Health reports: Mental illnesses are common in the United States. Nearly one in five U.S. adults live with a mental illness (51.5 million in 2019). Mental illnesses include many different conditions that vary in degree of severity, ranging from mild to moderate too severe. Two broad categories can be used to describe these conditions: Any Mental Illness (AMI) and Serious Mental Illness (SMI). AMI encompasses all recognized mental illnesses. SMI is a smaller and more severe subset of AMI. Zach Westerbeck is a professional mental health speaker, College Success Coach, and author of the book “You're Not Alone”. Zach has a mission to help educate college students and organizations around the world to understand the complexities of depression and anxiety in today's modern society. Kevin Westerbeck was one of the predators caught in the Greenville, Ohio sting. He is one of the most hated predators on the show and is frequently made fun of due to his height. Westerbeck was a 47 year old Budget Analyst for the US Military working at Wright Patterson Air Force Base at the time of his involvement on the show. He started chatting with “Destiny”, a girl he believed to be thirteen. He admits to the decoy that he had been arrested and sentenced for soliciting already and was due to start serving his time at the end of the week. Westerbeck asks to come over and after making sure the meeting is about sex, he gives the dimensions of his penis. On the day of the meet, Westerbeck arrives and is greeted by the decoy by voice. The decoy told him to wait at the barstool while she changed, though Westerbeck insisted that he watch her as he tried to follow her voice. Chris Hansen arrived in order to stop him from meandering deeper into the house and told Westerbeck to take a seat. Westerbeck waddled to the stool and climbed up onto it. Chris then grilled him about the chat as well as reference Westerbeck‘s previous arrest for soliciting minors. This episode of Predators I've Caught is sponsored by Raycon wireless earbuds. On this week's episode of RFT, Brenna is delighted to speak with Zach Westerbeck, author of You're Not Alone. Zach is a mental health public speaker with a mission to be a voice and outlet for college students and organizations attempting to understand the complexities of mental health. People like Zach remind us that no one is alone in their battle with mental health and there is always someone we can reach out and be vulnerable with. In episode 49 I sit down with mental health advocate and author of the book "You're Not Alone", Zach Westerbeck! He is a professional keynote speaker, speaking to college students and corporations all across the USA! His book came out in October 2020. He is a huge mental health advocate, which he started doing in 2018. With a pounding heart, drying mouth, sweating palms and racing thoughts, there was a time in our guest’s life in which, from the moment he woke up, till' the time went to sleep, all he could think about was committing suicide. While having no idea as to why he was experiencing all of this, and with no sense of control over his thoughts, he decided to get his affairs in order and call his parents “for one last time”. This phone call turned out to be a life-saving moment, which soon brought him to an unexpected diagnosis. He is now a mental health advocate, author and speaker, and he shares with us what this situation meant to him and how we can recover from some common mental health issues. This is my conversation with Zach Westerbeck. Zach is a Mental Health advocate, National speaker, College Success Coach, and author of "You're Not Alone", who was diagnosed with an anxiety disorder in 2016. During that time he experienced severe anxiety, deep depression and thoughts of suicide. After hitting his rock bottom moment, he sought help and started to recover. Through his recovery process he became Mental Health First Aid certified and now travels the country educating thousands of students on the fundamentals of mental health. Welcome to the first episode of the Bottom-Up Revolution Podcast in 2021—our Strong Towns Year of Action! All year long, we’re going to be sharing resources, ideas and opportunities for you to take action to make your community stronger and more resilient. We’re kicking off the 2021 season of the podcast with an interview with a long-time Strong Towns member, Cary Westerbeck. Cary is an architect and principle of his own architecture firm, as well as an advocate who founded a Strong Towns local conversation group in his community of Bothell, Washington. We’ve been wanting to have him on the show for a while now because his story is one that so many people can learn from. There are probably a lot of you out there who’ve thought at one point or another, “I wish I could find other advocates in my neighborhood who care about making our community more resilient, and then work together to get stuff done.” Well, Cary did just that. In this conversation, you’ll learn how he used existing community platforms to find interested neighbors, gathered people to learn about Strong Towns concepts together, shared resources with one another, and eventually got three of their members elected to the city planning commission—taking action on a whole bunch of local issues along the way. You might event want to take notes during this one because there’s a lot to take in, and so much of it is things you can get started on right now in your own neighborhood. And we hope you do. We will share a ton of resources in this episode, so be ready to take some notes! We have two excellent resources here with us today to guide our conversations and to answer your questions on mental health, so feel free to use the chat box for any questions you would like to ask our panelists. Christian Beck is a licensed mental health counselor for Colgate University, with clinical interests in coping & resilience and positive psychology. Zach Westerbeck speaks on college campuses all over the country on understanding Mental Health and breaking the stigma, and he experienced his own crippling depression and anxiety in 2016. There are so many exciting things happening with Zach Westerbeck as he speaks on college campuses all over the country, so we decided to catch up with him again on Fraternity Foodie to see what's new! Zach tells us about the issues he is seeing with the students regarding their mental health when he speaks on college campuses like UC San Diego, Penn State, and Georgia Tech, the student takeaways, the feedback he gets from the students after the presentation, how being a Sigma Chi fraternity member has helped him in this process, how being a Certified Mental Health First Aid has helped him as a speaker and advocate, how he is able to manage stress every day, the support he gets from his soon to be wife Kate, the new book he wrote that is coming out in the spring, and his favorite restaurant in Costa Mesa that literally made him hungry while he was on camera. Enjoy. Link: https://youtu.be/g4WDbf08oIc https://youtu.be/g4WDbf08oIc
Check out this interview I did today with Zach Westerbeck, one of the Greek University speakers, as he discusses mental health on college campuses. His talk, called "Understanding Mental Health - Breaking the Stigma and Freeing Those Suffering in Silence", has been helping fraternity and sorority members openly talk about these issues and get help for those in need.
