After 15 years in the corporate world, our guest woke up one day feeling unfulfilled, stuck, frustrated and even guilty about her own situation. This realization came up only four months into what she had considered to be her “dream job.” She then began to meet entrepreneurs and worked in understanding their main struggle: generating sales. With her long experience in the area, she developed a solution addressing the needs of female entrepreneurs, and made the transition from being a full-time employee to a full-time business owner. She’s now a trainer and a coach who is helping entrepreneurs build their own multi-million-dollar sales organizations. This is my conversation with Ryann Dowdy. Ryann is a sales coach for female entrepreneurs. She brings her years of corporate sales leadership to coaching women in business on how to ask for what they're worth, develop pricing and packaging, and approach each sales conversation with confidence. She offers free training on sales, sales process, discovery calls, handling objections, closing, and networking. Ryann works hand in hand with female entrepreneurs to help them overcome their negative mindset around sales to bring on more clients, help more people, and make more money. These are some of the highlights of my conversation with Ryann: - How she progressively transitioned from her full-time job to starting her own business. - Why it’s important to take our time, communicate with people, make mistakes and learn while starting our own business. - Why we shouldn’t be concerned too much about the “imposter syndrome.” You can connect with Ryann here: Website: https://uncensoredconsulting.com/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ryanndowdyuncensored/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/ryanndowdy Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ryanndowdyofficial/ Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3tfXQHWdhusdtCrEhl0yJg Linked In: https://www.linkedin.com/in/ryanndowdy/ Uncensored Sales Podcast with Ryann Dowdy: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/uncensored-sales-with-ryann-dowdy/id1454687278 The Passion Accomplished podcast with Alberto Sardiñas is available on www.PassionPodcast.com.
What would be the top piece of advice from a serial entrepreneur and angel investor who has been involved in the development and transfer of hands of billion-dollar companies? Aside from being exceptionally successful, our guest has focused on an usually-overlooked aspect of business: the human talent. As a co-founder of several successful companies, including Lola.com, Kayak and many others, our guest shared why he considers choosing the right people as the most important business strategy. This is my conversation with the one and only, Paul English. Paul is the Founder and CTO of Lola.com, the easiest way for a business to manage their employee travel. Previously, Paul was CTO of KAYAK, a travel company he co-founded in 2004, took public in 2012, and sold to Priceline in 2013. Paul is also the founder of GetHuman, a service created to give consumers excellent customer service at any company. Paul grew up in Boston (as did his parents), his father was a pipefitter at Boston Gas Company, Paul’s first job was delivering the Boston Globe, and he went to Boston public schools until he studied music and computer science at UMASS Boston. Paul is the subject of Tracy Kidder’s book “A Truck Full of Money”, published by Random House in September 2016. Did you ever watch the movie Jerry Maguire? Our guest is the former CEO of Leigh Steinberg’s sports and entertainment Agency, the inspiration behind this movie. In his first week at the job, he was confronted with the responsibility of closing a $900-million deal, and he did it by following his boss’ top negotiating principles. However, he once also lost $100 million in a bankruptcy, which forced him to figure out what had made him successful in the first place. He shares with us how money can make us happy by “shopping” for the right things and how we can recover after facing major adversity. This is my conversation with best-selling author and host of the top entrepreneur podcast The Playbook, David Meltzer. David is also the Co-Founder of Sports 1 Marketing and his life mission is to empower over 1 billion people to be happy! This simple yet powerful mission has led him on an incredible journey to provide one thing…VALUE. In all his content, and communication that’s exactly what you’ll receive. “We all are billionaires.” This is one of the many powerful concepts that our guest shared with us on this episode. Originally from New York, his family migrated to San Juan, Puerto Rico when he was little, where his father later abandoned their home. He also experienced other difficult situations such as being ran over by a car, which led him to see life in a very negative way. However, our guest decided that he didn’t want to be defined by those negative situations, and progressively transformed himself to later become an internationally renowned life coach, who has appeared in media all over the world and currently coaches entrepreneurs that own multi-million dollar businesses. He’s here to share with us why we must be grateful with our lives amidst all the struggles that we face, why we should never lose faith in ourselves and trust the process, and why he sees each one of us as a billionaire. This is my conversation with best-selling author, podcaster, star maker, and TV/Radio personality, Chris Lee. Lee has been a collaborator for top latin and US television and radio networks like NBC, ABC, FOX LATINO, Noticias Telemundo, Wapa America, Venevision and Univision. He has opened and runs successful seminar businesses in the US, Europe, Asia, Latin America and Puerto Rico. Lee had created a workshop for teens called Torch (Antorcha) that teaches the key to happiness and success all over the US, Asia and Latin America. Because of a stutter problem at a young age, our guest grew up being discriminated against and decided not to use his voice, resorting to communicating using the written word. This led him to develop a deep desire to achieve perfection, which later caused self-injury when he deemed himself to be imperfect. Later in life, he finally accepted his imperfections, and turned his life around. He is here to teach us how to find our own voice, by clarifying who we are, why we are in this world and where do we go from here. This is my amazing conversation with Kary Oberbrunner. Kary is the CEO of Igniting Souls. He is an author, coach, and speaker who helps individuals and organizations clarify who they are, why they're here, and where they're going so they can become souls on fire, experience unhackability, and share their message with the world. Our award-winning, 7-figure-earning guest made a promise to his fallen soldiers, who made the ultimate sacrifice back when he was serving as an Armor Platoon Leader in Iraq. After spending 8 years in the Army, he struggled to find his path to happiness and fulfillment as a private citizen. He tried pursuing law, having a career in sales and joining a startup tech company, until he found the sweet spot, interviewing successful business people on a daily podcast. This prompted the start of his outstanding entrepreneurial success. This is my conversation with the host of the award winning podcast "Entrepreneurs on Fire", the one and only John Lee Dumas. Are you ready to become the hero of your own story? Our guest became paralyzed after having a motocross accident. His dad had also become disabled and later took his own life. But none of these stopped him from turning his life around for the better. He’s a Paralympian and through very hard work he became a world champion. He’s also now an author and a speaker, and he shared with us how accepting our own responsibility can help us turn our lives around and become the hero of our own story. This is my amazing conversation with Kevin Rempel. He is a 2013 World Champion and 2014 Sochi Paralympic bronze medalist in sledge hockey who has an incredible story of overcoming a tremendous amount of adversity. Paralyzed after a motocross crash in 2006, Kevin had to face insurmountable odds while learning to walk again at the age of 23. Adding to this, Kevin had to deal with his father, Gerry, who also was living in a wheelchair. While deer hunting, Gerry fell from a tree leaving him a complete paraplegic one year from retirement. Unfortunately Gerry couldn’t deal with living with his circumstances and took his own life in July 2007. That following year, “Remps” as he likes to be called by his friends, found sledge hockey and set his sights on making Team Canada and playing in the Paralympics. Since then he has travelled the world, inspired thousands of people, and has been featured around the world in media such as CBC, TSN, and BBC Sport. Today, Kevin is focused on helping grow the sport of sledge hockey through his team building program, The Sledge Hockey Experience, and passionately taking the stage, either live or virtually, inspiring audiences with The Hero Mindset Keynote and coaching leaders using The Resilience Toolbox. However, a moment of awakening led her into a life of faith, and it was the beginning of a totally different path. As part of her many life lessons, she shares in this episode why we must be careful when choosing the people that we surround ourselves with, and why faith can be a key element when trying to overcome most situations in life. With a pounding heart, drying mouth, sweating palms and racing thoughts, there was a time in our guest’s life in which, from the moment he woke up, till' the time went to sleep, all he could think about was committing suicide. While having no idea as to why he was experiencing all of this, and with no sense of control over his thoughts, he decided to get his affairs in order and call his parents “for one last time”. This phone call turned out to be a life-saving moment, which soon brought him to an unexpected diagnosis. He is now a mental health advocate, author and speaker, and he shares with us what this situation meant to him and how we can recover from some common mental health issues. This is my conversation with Zach Westerbeck. Zach is a Mental Health advocate, National speaker, College Success Coach, and author of "You're Not Alone", who was diagnosed with an anxiety disorder in 2016. From being a successful corporate executive to being bedridden. Our guest migrated from India to the United States, had a very successful life with a great family, a great career, and was living the American dream. However, one day, a brain stroke changed everything. He started questioning his own ability to recover and had to find the strength to face a new stage in his life. He started fighting to recover, to be able to walk again and to be the best father he could for his kids. This is my conversation with author Sameer Bhide. At the age of forty-seven, Sameer Bhide suffered an extremely rare and massive hemorrhagic stroke and underwent 2 brain surgeries, and then spent a month in a medically induced coma. His healing journey has taken him from being bedridden and immobile through the use of a wheelchair, walker, and then a cane due to access to cutting-edge medical care in the United States and his multiple trips to India where he rounded out his recovery with eastern holistic therapies, along with help and support from a diverse group of family, friends and caregivers. "Why we choose suicide" is the title of the top rated TEDx talk of our guest today. He is a mental health advocate who in the past attempted suicide several times, and at one time was saved by a stranger from jumping off a bridge. This situation opened his eyes and allowed him to get on a different path in his life. His TEDx talk is ranked as one of the top in the world. He shares with us the way in which he believes the system has failed people who are going through depression and suicidal thoughts. He also explains how we can be a positive influence to help those going through mental health issues. This is my conversation with TEDx speaker, author and mental health advocate Mark Henick. With over six million views, Mark’s TEDx talk is among the most watched in the world. His story of searching for “the man in the light brown jacket” who saved his life from a teenage suicide attempt captured global attention, and when he learned of products being sold on Amazon that promoted suicide, his successful online petition to have them removed garnered tens of thousands of signatures. Henick has dedicated his life from an early age to opening minds and creating change. His talks are informed by his direct experience with stigma and the mental health care system, and he brings his diverse and unique perspective to every audience as someone who has been a patient, a professional, a policy influencer, and a public figure in the mental health system. Mark is currently the Principal and CEO of a boutique consulting firm that helps individuals, companies, and governments to move strategically from awareness to action in improving mental health and wellness. He was previously the National Director of Strategic Initiatives for the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), and, prior to that, served as the youngest president of a provincial CMHA division in history, the youngest ever member of the board of directors for Canada’s Mental Health Commission, and as a national spokesperson for the Faces of Mental Illness campaign.
