Thank you for being part of the conversation. This is Play It Forward. Real people. Real stories. The struggle to Play It Forward Episode 596 With Shannon Eastin Author Of Lady Ref Making Calls In A Man's World "You will never know how many times I said when asked about the lady ref, 'She is the best official on the field.'" -The late, legendary Red Cashion, NFL referee for 25 seasons and two Super Bowls From a young age, Shannon Eastin was strong, fiercely competitive, and driven by the belief that she not only could but should be the best at whatever she set her mind to-including achieving her dream job: referee for the National Football League (NFL). In LADY REF: Making Calls in a Man's World, Shannon Eastin takes readers along on her journey to becoming the first woman to work as an NFL official-after taking on a lot of training, putting in a lot of hard, hard work, learning when to speak up and when to step back, and keeping the faith that God had a plan for her. Throughout, she offers practical lessons and plenty of inspiration for anyone determined to follow their passion and reach their goals without compromising. "I worked hard, I worked at getting better. And when one door wouldn't open, I kept looking for another way through," Eastin says of her quest to break into NFL. A door finally opened in 2012, thanks to a strike. Elated and grateful to be hired as a temporary replacement referee, she kept studying the game, following the rules, and working even harder to prove herself. "To get to this point," Eastin reflects, "I've had to take time to help others understand what I know, to see what I can do, and to trust me-and women like me-to do this work." Before all of the accomplishments that were to be bestowed on Shannon Eastin, there came a powerful drive and a feeling she was born with something extra. You could say LADY REF began the day Shannon Eastin was born.

Neale Donald Walsch has written 39 books on contemporary spirituality and its practical application in everyday life. With an early interest in religion and a deeply felt connection to spirituality, Neale spent the majority of his early adult years thriving professionally, yet searching for greater meaning in life. He has said that this yearning let to a series of deeply personal spiritual encounters which he experienced as direct exchanges with the Divine. A series of books titled Conversations with God emerged from those moments, and has been translated into 37 languages. Seven books in the series reached the New York Times bestseller list, Conversations with God-Book 1 remaining there for over two-and-a-half years. His latest book is The God Solution, published in December, 2020, which invites humanity to embrace a new global ethic based on a refined and clarified definition of God. The book proposes that there is a single statement of spiritual truth upon which all the world's religions could agree, and which would birth a shift of spiritual paradigms around the globe of such magnitude that it would produce peace and happiness on our planet at last.Books in the With God dialogue series, in their order of publication, include: Conversations with God-Books 1-3, Friendship with God; Communion with God; The New Revelations; Tomorrow's God; Home with God in a Life That Never Ends, and Conversations with God-Book 4.A series of supplementary texts includes When Everything Changes Change Everything (2010), The Storm Before the Calm (2011), The Only Thing That Matters (2012), What God Said (2013), God's Message to the World: You've got me all wrong (2014), When God and Medicine Meet, (2016), and The Essential Path (2019).Walsch presents online retreats and lecture programs for persons around the world, focused on what he calls the most important question facing humanity today. That question: Is it possible that there is something we don't fully understand about God and about Life, the understanding of which would change everything? In order to deal with the enormous global response to the writings in the Conversations with God body of work, an internet platform has been created at Conversations with God, where the scope and breadth of the CWG messages may be explored in audio, video, and written form, and where readers may get answers directly from the author to any questions they may have about the material. This show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/4858435/advertisement

While on an emergency mission to escort two automated cargo ships to Sherman's Planet, the Enterprise alters its course to engage a Klingon battle cruiser that's in hot pursuit of a one-man scout ship. Just moments before that ship is destroyed, the lone pilot is beamed aboard the Enterprise, and Captain Kirk is once again reunited with an old nuisance: Cyrano Jones, and of course, he as Tribbles with him. Kirk, Spock, McCoy and the rest of the Enterprise crew literally and figuratively have their hands full with a whole new batch of ever-growing Tribbles, but they also have to contend with a powerful new Klingon weapon that poses a new threat to the Federation. Writer David Gerrold returns to "Star Trek" with "More Tribbles, More Troubles," his "Animated Series" follow up to "The Trouble with Tribbles" from "The Original Series." And just like its predecessor, "More Tribbles, More Troubles" is a delightful entry that captures the fun, the heart and the humor that made "The Trouble with Tribbles" one of "Star Trek's" most beloved and popular episodes. Grow Your Own Food to Save Yourself and the World You may think it's utopian to imagine that you or anyone else could grow enough food in space the size of a lawn to feed a family for a year, doing it with perennials that come back year after year with minimum maintenance. My remarkable guest, Jim Gale, is showing us we can and is building an international company around the concept. On his website “Food Forest Abundance,” his motto is “Designing freedom into every landscape.” Jim is inspired me think of a new motto for myself, “Designing love and freedom into everything thing we do and say.” You will love Jim's enthusiasm, learn from him, admire his spiritual and political convictions, and root for his enormous success.

An Amazing Odyssey: A Congressman's Solo Flight Around the World - Paul Glenshaw The Not Old Better Show, Smithsonian Associates Series Welcome to The Not Old Better Show. I'm Paul Vogelzang. As part of our Smithsonian Associates Art of Living Series, our guest today, Paul Glenshaw has an unlikely story. Paul Glenshaw will be presenting at the Smithsonian Associates, June 15, 2021, and the title of his presentation is An Amazing Odyssey: A Congressman's Solo Flight Around the World You can find out more in our show notes. But Paul Glenshaw is our guest today and see if you can imagine this: a congressman risks his life for a self-funded world peace mission. The Smithsonian loans an airplane from its collection for a solo round-the-world flight. A pilot makes that flight and does nothing to exploit his achievement. Yet, as Glenshaw tells us, all these things happened, in 1951, to one Peter Mack. In 1951, Peter F. Mack Jr., a 34-year-old U.S. congressman from rural Illinois, made an extraordinary journey for peace. He borrowed a single-engine airplane from the Smithsonian, rechristened it the Friendship Flame, and flew it around the world alone on a self-funded, self-directed goodwill mission. Along the way, without aides or security, he met ordinary citizens and dignitaries and extended his hand in friendship, and became the first person to fly across the Pacific Ocean alone. As his constituent's five and ten-dollar donations came in, Congressman Mack contributed $1500 of his own money, planned his route, and re-christened the plane Friendship Flame. On October 7, 1951, he took off from Springfield, Illinois on what he called the Abraham Lincoln Goodwill Tour. After crossing the Atlantic, Congressman Mack toured Western Europe, Scandinavia, and the British Isles. He tried in vain to enter the Soviet Union. He flew through the Middle East, Iran, Pakistan, into South Asia, then Vietnam and Korea (where the war was in full swing), and finally Japan. He handed out what he called “friendship scrolls.” He met with dignitaries and ordinary citizens, assuring everyone he met that the people of the United States were interested only in peace. Aviation historian Paul Glenshaw offers a fascinating snapshot of a troubled globe in the aftermath of World War II and the start of the Cold War as he uses original images, film, news reports, and audio recordings made during Mack's epic odyssey to tell this inspiring story. My thanks to Paul Glenshaw. Paul Glenshaw will be presenting at the Smithsonian Associates, June 15, 2021, and the title of his presentation is An Amazing Odyssey: A Congressman's Solo Flight Around the World You can find out more in our show notes. My thanks as well to the Smithsonian Associates team for all they do to support the show. Of course, my thanks to you, my wonderful Not Old Better Show audience. Please be well, stay healthy and vaccinated, and remember, let's Talk About Better. The Not Old Better Show. Thanks, everybody. Scott Keyes is the founder and CEO of Scott’s Cheap Flights. In 2013, he found a flight deal he just can’t pass out on—a $130 round trip ticket from New York City to Milan. When he returned home, his friends and colleagues asked him to let them know the next time he finds a great deal. In a nutshell, that’s how Scott’s Cheap Flights came about. Scott’s Cheap Flights newsletter aims to enable people to travel and see and experience the world. Unlike automated flight deals and alerts sent out by way of affiliated links, they leverage their team of human flight experts and innovative software to provide meticulously-vetted and high quality deals that are worth their members’ time and money. Some are even mistake fares! To date, Scott’s Cheap Flights has more than 2 million members (and growing each day!). The total amount of airfare their deals have helped members save is already at a whopping $100 million! Scott’s Cheap Flights is run by a remote team with members situated in many parts of the world. Undoubtedly, they are making people's travel dreams attainable, one deal at a time! So far, Scott has visited a total of 46 countries. He lists Oaxaca, Mexico as his favorite destination. He runs Scott’s Cheap Flights with co-founder and COO, Brian Kidwell. Personally, I recommend the Scott’s service in The Millennial Travel Guidebook and gave Scott’s Cheap Flights great review. Many people have asked if Scott’s Cheap Flights Premium is worth it, and I always say yes. Scott’s Cheap flights is very legitimate--their mission is to enable people to travel and experience the world! In this episode of The Millennial Travel Podcast I discuss with Scott Keyes of Scott’s Cheap Flights: How to use Scott’s Cheap Flights. How to find cheap flights. When and when to find cheap flights. Is Scott’s Cheap Flights good for domestic travel or/or international flights? Scott also shares what the 24-hour rule is, the holy grail of the cheap flights world, and the cheapest time to book a flight. Travel hacking booking flights. Where to find cheap flights last minute What apps and travel hacks does Scott Keyes use? What blogs or other resources does Scott read? TravelisFree.com View from the Wing with Gary Leff On finding the best flight deals, Scott has this to say, “The better the deal is, the shorter it’s going to last. So finding about them early and being able to book early is really really key.” Resources from Scott Keyes: Sign up for Scott’s Cheap Flights Scott’s Cheap Flights on Twitter @ScottsFlights Instagram @ScottsCheapFlights Facebook Scott’s Cheap Flights Scott’s Cheap Flights Facebook Community Scott Keyes’ new book: Take More Vacations: How to Search Better, Book Cheaper, and Travel the World You can find all the links and past show notes on millennialtravelpodcast.com Direct support for The Millennial Travel Podcast comes from The Millennial Travel Guidebook: Escape More, Spend Less, & Make Travel a Priority in Your Life... and from our new USA hiking and camping trips at Under30Experiences!

The Bite John 13:34-35 34 So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. 35 Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.” The Digest How You Love Proves to the World You are His! Jesus commands we love each other. Love in these two verses: Verse 34 is a welcoming, entertaining, dearly love, which is how Jesus loves us. Verse 35 is the affection of love, brotherly love, which is how we love others. He loves us with that deep passionate love. The way we love others shows whether or not we're really his disciples. Love is an action. People recognize Jesus in us based on how you love them and how you show love to others around you. Remember we will always have an audience. Jesus is sitting in that audience. The eyes of the Lord are everywhere. Jesus gives us a commandment, which is an order to do something. We are to love the Lord with all our heart, mind and soul. Then love your neighbor as yourself. Sister, what's your evidence looking like in your life? Can people recognize the love of Jesus in your life? Can Jesus identify you as His disciple by the way you love his people? For references: Read 1 John 3:10-23 and 1 John 4: 7-21 for more bites on the way we are to love. 1 John 4:20 states if you say you love God but hate your sister in Christ or your brother in Christ. You are a Liar. How can you love God who is unseen and hate your sister who you can see? Sister, check your heart today. Love like Jesus. The opposite of Love is Hate. There is no in between. You are either loving or hating! Is Hate is polluting your love tank? God can take care of your love tank with His special hate removal treatment. He can make it all clean and make it new again. Are you willing to let him clean your love tank so that it fills His people and shows others that you are truly his beloved disciple? The Chew Check your love tank
