Jesse Starcher and Mark Radulich present their Heels Season 2 TV Show Review! Heels is an American drama television series about professional wrestling created by Michael Waldron that premiered on August 15, 2021, on Starz. In November 2021, the series was renewed for a second season, which premiered on July 28, 2023. In September 2023, the series was cancelled after two seasons.Season 2 of Heels, the Starz wrestling drama series, continued to explore the complex world of professional wrestling while expanding on its behind-the-scenes production challenges, casting changes, and eventual cancellation. While the season delved deeper into the themes of family dynamics, loyalty, and the blurred lines between real-life identities and wrestling personas, its production history offered equally compelling narratives.Heels Season 2 faced significant hurdles during its production, largely due to delays stemming from the pandemic. Originally greenlit shortly after the first season's modestly successful run, production faced multiple setbacks before finally resuming in early 2022. Filming took place in Atlanta, Georgia, the same location used for the fictional town of Duffy. The production leaned heavily on authenticity, working closely with wrestling consultants and choreographers to ensure that the in-ring action remained realistic and compelling. Several scenes were shot in real wrestling venues, adding to the gritty, small-town wrestling atmosphere the show is known for.The show's creators, including Michael Waldron (Loki, Rick and Morty), continued to emphasize authenticity in their portrayal of the indie wrestling scene. The writing team focused on balancing the physicality of wrestling with the deeply emotional struggles of the characters, drawing parallels between the scripted nature of wrestling and the real-life performances people put on to navigate their personal lives. Season 2 also aimed to tackle broader themes like the commercialization of wrestling and the sacrifices required to achieve success, both in and out of the ring.Heels Season 2 premiered on Starz on July 28, 2023, with episodes released weekly. This traditional release schedule aimed to build anticipation and engagement, but some fans lamented the lack of a binge-watch option, which had proven successful for other streaming platforms. Despite the weekly schedule, viewership numbers struggled to meet expectations, a factor that likely contributed to the show's eventual cancellation. While Heels may not have had the longevity fans hoped for, its second season cemented its reputation as a heartfelt and authentic exploration of the wrestling world. The show's commitment to telling emotionally resonant stories, paired with its dedication to accurately depicting indie wrestling, earned it a loyal fanbase and critical praise. For many, Heels stands as a testament to the power of niche storytelling and the enduring appeal of stories that spotlight the underdog spirit. Even in cancellation, Heels remains a meaningful piece of television, offering a rare glimpse into a world that is often overlooked by mainstream media. The series' exploration of themes like family, identity, and ambition resonates far beyond the wrestling ring, leaving an impact that fans will carry with them long after the final bell has rung.Disclaimer: The following may contain offensive language, adult humor, and/or content that some viewers may find offensive – The views and opinions expressed by any one speaker does not explicitly or necessarily reflect or represent those of Mark Radulich or W2M Network.Mark Radulich and his wacky podcast on all the things:https://linktr.ee/markkind76alsohttps://www.teepublic.com/user/radulich-in-broadcasting-networkFB Messenger: Mark Radulich LCSWTiktok: @markradulichtwitter: @MarkRadulichInstagram: markkind76RIBN Album Playlist: https://suno.com/playlist/91d704c9-d1ea-45a0-9ffe-5069497bad59

Deadline broke the news that Deadpool & Wolverine director Shawn Levy is being courted as Marvel Studios' first choice to direct the franchise's next Avengers movie. Though so much isn't known about the future of the Avengers due to Marvel's internal shake-up reordering their release schedule of shows and movies as well as the Jonathan Majors legal issues and consequential firing, Deadline did say Levy was given a script from writer Michael Waldron. It is also rumored that more than 60 Marvel characters could appear.  Captain America: Brave New World began reshoots in Atlanta last week, with new cast member Giancarlo Esposito joining the call sheet for the 22 days of additional photography. Unofficial, leaked set photos confirmed the actor's involvement after he heavily hinted at an unexpected role within the MCU. While we still have no word on which character Esposito portrays, all signs point to the role being, quote, ‘villainous' in nature. This week treated us to a batch of brand-spanking new, high-profile trailers, Let's break down our thoughts: Venom 3 Moana 2 Alien: Romulus J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings and Middle Earth works have seen their fair share of adaptations, but one character that has long been absent from the proceedings to the chagrin of many readers is The Fellowship of the Ring's Tom Bombadil. That all changes as Amazon's Rings of Power Season 2 is set to feature the character, with English actor Rory Kinnear portraying the enigmatic forest dweller. This was revealed in a Vanity Fair exclusive. Tolkien himself was often hazy on the character, who has been described as older than old, and more of an observer than active participant in the many conflicts of Middle Earth.  We couldn't have expected to carve out a collectable popcorn bucket niche when we started this show, but here we are: Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds unveiled a cheeky ad teasing a somewhat risqué popcorn bucket for Marvel's upcoming superhero team-up. The bucket, shaped like a Wolverine head with a comically wide-open mouth, aligns with Kevin Feige's promise of a “crude and rude” design. Two-time Oscar winner Mahershala Ali is in talks to join Scarlett Johansson in the upcoming Jurassic movie. Chris Hemsworth is in talks to lead a Transformers and G.I. Joe crossover sequel to Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, with no release date yet. Jeremy Renner joins the cast of Rian Johnson's Knives Out 3, his first role since his early 2023 snowplow accident, alongside Glenn Close, Josh Brolin, Andrew Scott, Kerry Washington, Mila Kunis, Josh O'Connor, and Cailee Spaeny. (Kaylee Spain-ee) In addition to producing the It prequel series for Max currently titled Welcome to Derry, Bill Skarsgard will also return to reprise his role as Pennywise the Clown from It and It Chapter 2. In a Variety Actors on Actors interview with Jodie Foster, Robert Downey, Jr. said the following when asked if he would return to Tony Stark: “It's the character that is most like me and I've become surprisingly open minded to the idea.” Warner Bros. Television is in the early stages of developing a 300 TV series prequel, with Zack Snyder in talks to direct and produce. Elle Fanning is in talks to star in Badlands, a new Predator universe movie directed by Dan Trachtenberg, who revamped the franchise with Prey. New Star Wars show The Acolyte is premiering right now, and Marvel Comics announced the wookiee Jedi character, Kelnacca, will be getting a one-shot comic book written by Cavan Scott. Netflix is currently developing an animated series based on the popular video game Minecraft alongside Mojang Studios, the Swedish developer of the game. MCU and Lost star Evangeline Lilly announced on her Instagram that she is retiring from acting.  Peaky Blinders fans can get excited as a film starring Cillian Murphy  is in the pipeline. Plot details and more casting isn't known, but Murphy will also co-produce the film, which will land on Netflix.

She discovers that he had a second wife and a son, Kentaro, in Japan. Kentaro leads Cate to Hiroshi's office, where she discovers a safe containing files belonging to their grandfather, Monarch researcher Bill Randa. Seeking answers about Monarch's presence in San Francisco and Hiroshi's connection to them, Cate and Kentaro recruit Kentaro's ex-girlfriend May Olowe-Hewitt to decode the files. Monarch employee Tim is notified of their attempt. In 1959, Cate and Kentaro's grandparents, Bill Randa and Keiko Miura, follow radiation in Kazakhstan with fellow Monarch official Col. Lee Shaw. A local boy claims that the radiation is a cover story for the government drilling a hole through the earth. Randa and Miura discover that radiation levels drop to zero around a power plant, and that hollow caverns exist in the bedrock beneath it. Venturing inside, they discover eggs belonging to insectoid Endoswarmers. Miura and Shaw rappel down to collect genetic material from the eggs, but the Endoswarmers awaken and drag Miura into the caverns below. Episode 2: Departure Summary In 2015, Kentaro discovers Monarch files in Hiroshi's office indicating that Shaw, his great-uncle, moved to an assisted living facility in Japan. Tim and Monarch field operative Duvall track down Cate, Kentaro, and May in an attempt to find the decoded files, but they escape. Cate, Kentaro, and May go on the run and find Shaw, who reveals that the facility is a pretense for Monarch to keep him under house arrest. Shaw convinces them to escape from the facility and follow Hiroshi to his last known location in Alaska. In 1952, Shaw is assigned as Miura's escort on an expedition following unusual radiation in the Philippines. They meet Randa in the jungle, who claims to be following folk tales of a fire-breathing dragon. Miura recruits Randa against a skeptical Shaw's advice, and Shaw departs. Continuing alone, Miura and Randa discover the wreckage of the USS Lawton, a Navy ship that sank in 1943 from which Randa was the sole survivor. They discover corpses in the ship and are attacked by an Ion Dragon. Having seen the Ion Dragon's radiation-based fire, Shaw returns to rescue them from the ship. Infamous Shirts for Naked Bodies... We should all have courage like David Zaslav (; ̄Д ̄). Lord Gaben has been required to return to the US for court, more layoffs hit the game development world, and CD Projekt Red is really gearing up for the Witcher 4. Meanwhile The Hunger Games prequel is just wrapping up the box office, Taika wants to make sure his Star Wars will be good, and Chris Evans is totally unware of the return of Cap. Also I give my top 10 90s Drama films.

Welcome to Multiverse News, Your source for Information about all your favorite fictional universes.   It's devastating news for MCU fans everywhere - The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that Deadpool 3 will be the ONLY MCU film released in 2024. The shift starts with Deadpool 3's release date - now July 26 instead of May 3 - and trickles down to the other MCU films. Captain America: New World Order's new release date is February 25, 2025, Thunderbolts is moved to July 25, 2025, and Blade is now pushed to November 7, 2025. Blade and Thunderbolts did not have scripts going into this year's Writer's Strike. Rather than make his mark in the Galaxy Far, Far, Away, Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige is going to turn his space laser focus back to projects of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. A simple “no” answered the question as to whether he would be producing a Star Wars film. The news that Feige would helm a Star Wars film broke in 2019, with Loki writer Michael Waldron being signed on in 2021.  A vote last Friday brought a tentative agreement between the majority of SAG-AFTRA's National Board and the studio CEO's of the AMPTP, ending the 118-day actors strike. The guild stated that the total package is valued at more than $1 billion in new wages and benefit plan funding. The 80-page summary of the agreement is not yet public, but was made available to guild members on November 13. Ratification voting for the 160,000 plus members of SAG-AFTRA runs from November 14 through the first week of December.  Sony released the first trailer for Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, which is set for theatrical release on March 29, 2024. Gil Kenan directs the follow-up to Jason Reitman‘s 2021 movie, Ghostbusters: Afterlife, which helped give the series new life. Disney released a trailer for upcoming Pixar film Inside Out 2. The trailer for the sequel introduces a new emotion: Anxiety. Inside Out 2 is set to release in theaters on June 14, 2024, almost nine years after the first film. The first trailer for The Garfield Movie has been released. Chicken Little and Emperor's New Groove director Mark Dindal is the director and the film has a script written by David Reynolds, known for Finding Nemo. The film, which stars Chris Pratt, Hannah Waddingham, Nicholas Hoult, and Samuel L. Jackson in voiceover roles will hit theaters on February 16, 2024. The trailer dropped for Mean Girls. The musical movie is based on the 2018 Broadway musical, which is based on the 2004 movie, which is based on the 2002 book Queen Bees and Wannabees. Reacher Season 2 has an official premiere date at Amazon Prime Video, with the streamer also dropping the first trailer for the new season of the popular series. Netflix released The first full trailer for Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire. The film begins streaming on December 22. Netflix has dropped its first trailer for Damsel, an epic fantasy film starring Millie Bobby Brown, Robin Wright, and Angela Bassett. The film is set to hit Netflix sometime in 2024. We also got a first look at upcoming anime spinoff The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep. The film is expected to arrive on Netflix sometime in late 2024.

This week we discuss Danny DeVito throwing some shade (as they say) on Colin Farrell's Penguin performance. Who's interpretation is the better Penguin? We discuss. Peacock has finished filming the Twisted Metal TV series adaptation of the 90's video game. Will it be any good? Also there was an alternative end credit scene at the end of Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, written by Michael Waldron that featured Reed Richards, do we think this could mean John Krasinski could reprise his role in other movies? Are the old Fantastic Four movies cannon? We speculate. Also Jordan Peele may not be done with the Nope world. Would we like to see another Nope sequel? Shia LeBeouf claimed that the final product of Honey Boy was not what he had originally envisioned regarding the portrayal of his father. Also we discuss the drama between him and Olivia Wilde on the set of Don't Worry Darlings starring Florence Pugh, Harry Styles, Gemma Chan, Kiki Layne, Nick Kroll, and Chris Pine. Halloween Ends has new photos from the movie, are we excited for the last of the trilogy? Then for See It or Skip It, we discuss Weird: The Al Yankovic Story starring Daniel Radcliffe "Weird Al" Yankovic ; Evan Rachel Wood Madonna ; Rainn Wilson Dr. Demento ; Julianne Nicholson Mary Yankovic ; Thomas Lennon. Plus the very strange but very much talked about horror adaptation of Winnie the Pooh, Blood and Honey has an official trailer. Are we excited? Are you? Script Apart listeners, fortify your minds – this week, we're joined by Michael Waldron, the screenwriting sorcerer supreme behind Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Directed by Sam Raimi, this latest Marvel blockbuster is superhero storytelling with the handbrake off. A cosmic adventure packed with inter-dimensional chases,  one-eyed squid monsters and motivational talks from zombie corpses, this 28th entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe well and truly lived up to the “madness” of its title. The film follows surgeon-turned-superhero Stephen Strange as he attempts to protect a young hero, America Chavez, with the power to open portals between locations in the multiverse. It's a journey that sends the wizard on a horror movie-descent into darkness and violence, as familiar characters from the MCU make shocking lurches into villainy. Wrestling all of that into some kind of coherent story would be challenging for any writer. Luckily, Michael was pretty well-prepared for such a task, despite having been roped into the project at the last minute following the departures of original writers Scott Derickson and C. Robert Cargill. Michael had prior experience bringing complex sci-fi concepts to life with a lightness of touch, having written for the hit animated series Rick and Morty. He was also on the Black List a few years ago for a genius spec script called The Worst Guy Of All Time, And The Girl Who Came To Kill Him. That screenplay contained a lot of the unrelenting momentum and time-hopping shenanigans that we see in Strange 2. It also helped, of course, that he was the head writer on Loki, the Marvel series that introduced the multiverse concept in the first place.Michael told us how the darkness of the Covid-19 pandemic helped him craft that second act surprise. We also discuss how hard it was to balance the terror and tragedy of a certain witchy character in this movie, and address the meaning of the question “are you happy?” that Doctor Strange is faced with again and again in Michael's screenplay. Even superheroes, it seems, experience dissatisfaction and feelings of “what now? Is that it?” The film is out today on Disney+ so be sure to watch it before you dive into this spoiler special.Script Apart is hosted by Al Horner and produced by Kamil Dymek. (Speaking of which, this episode does contain some spoilers. Proceed with caution!) Michael Waldron is a writer and producer who started his career in film & TV as a PA on the fifth season of the hit NBC sitcom COMMUNITY. After his time at Greendale Community College, he served as a writer/producer for the animated series RICK & MORTY – for which he and his colleagues received an Emmy for Outstanding Animated Program, showrunner for the Disney+ series LOKI, and creator/co-showrunner for the Starz drama series HEELS. DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS is the latest feature film from the Marvel cinematic universe, and the sequel to the 2016 film DOCTOR STRANGE. The film follows the titular Doctor Strange as he teams up with a mysterious teenage girl from his dreams who can travel across multiverses. Along the way, the duo battles multiple threats, including other-universe versions of Stephen Strange, which threaten to wipe out millions across the multiverse. The film premiered in early May 2022 and is now playing in theaters. Host Greg Iwinski is an Emmy-winning comedy writer and no-award-winning performer whose writing includes Last Week Tonight and The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.
