Seems that us metalheads are inundated with all things Satan, so it's time for The Mighty Decibel to do its part and disseminate some white metal/hard rock to try to balance the playing field a bit. And who better to turn to than UK Christian outfit Wytch Hazel for this task. For those who scoff at the idea of this type of fare, take a listen to this curated playlist of their best material over their four full lengths to date (including their masterpiece, III : Pentecost). Excellent old school hard rock/metal with references to Thin Lizzy in the dual guitar department and magnificent vocal melodies to sing along to. Show us the way!!! Guitar extraordinaire Nuno Bettancourt recently made headlines. He simply shared that none other than Prince himself once called him one of the Top 3 GOATs to ever bend the six strings. So we thought we'd one up His Highness and take a cue from Jon Kuzak from the awesome "High Fidelity" flick and share our Top 5 picks in both Metal and Rock categories. An interesting chat that you'd be surprised by some of our choices. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we discuss this weekend's Comic Book Day and have an impromptu talk about the Friday The 13th franchise. Musically, we crank some wicked tunes from Knoll, Wytch Hazel, Solanum, Gel and Necrotic Ritual. Horns Up and Stay Healthy! This Episode is sponsored by Trve Kvlt Coffee. Jarvis Leatherby is the singer/bassist of U.S Metal band Night Demon, he also plays with legendary Metal bands Cirith Ungol and Jaguar. Myself and my two co-hosts Joe and Howard have a brilliant chat with Jarvis about the upcoming debut of his Frost & Fireland Metal Festival (June 17th/18th 2022) in Derry, Ireland. We get to hear plenty about the line up for the festival: Brian Downey's Alive and Dangerous, Gama Bomb, Night Demon, Mythra, Darkest Era, Satan, Cirith Ungol, Midnight, Wytch Hazel and of course Dread Sovereign. Jarvis has a long and varied career in the Metal business so not only will you hear some interesting tour stories, you'll also get to hear about the many people he has meet over the years as well. This week the guys present you with their annual year-in-review episode, recorded live this week with host Nesbit. Among the topics covered in this wide-ranging, candid conversation are how the band members were affected by the pandemic in 2021, how the podcast provided them with motivation to keep everything together in the darkest of times, their reflections on the pre-Night Demon podcast episodes aired earlier this year, and their impressions of the two one-off live gigs they played on the back end of 2021. Night Demon also tease some of their plans for 2022, including a massive announcement to be made during next week's episode, an impressive slate of touring commitments for the new year, and some discussion of the Frost and Fireland festival set for June 2022 in Derry, Northern Ireland. The guys provide a candid look at their personal holiday plans, and unearth a couple of musical gems from their past to maintain the festive holiday atmosphere.
