POPULARITY
If selling podcast sponsorships is not your thing, the power to make money from your podcast is in your control with these options. Affiliate Advertising This is where you direct your listeners to a company that you love using, by offering a link or special discount code. You earn a percentage of the sale for every sale the company gets from those who have used your link. Run these just like you would a normal ad campaign. Create audio that includes the affiliate link, do a host live read, and put links in your show notes. And you do have to do this. You have to disclose on your website that they are affiliate links. There are numerous, reputable affiliate networks that can help facilitate this process. They make it nice and easy to get started. https://www.rakuten.com/signUp.do?login=yes (Rakuten), https://www.cj.com/ (CJ Affiliate) and https://www.shareasale.com/newsignup.cfm (Share A Sale) are some great examples. Premium Content This is a type of digital content that may be accessed for a fee, and is usually of higher quality or more desirable than free content. Creating premium content is a great way to make money by offering content – any kind of content – that your listeners can't get unless they pay for it. https://www.apple.com/newsroom/2021/06/apple-podcasts-subscriptions-and-channels-are-now-available-worldwide/ (Apple Podcasts Subscriptions) and channels are a new way to monetize. When listeners purchase a subscription to a show, they automatically follow the show and the page is updated with a Subscriber Edition label so they know they have access to the premium experience. You, as the content creator, can set the price for subscription. You'll have to share a percentage of your subscription price with Apple. That percentage decreases over time. Patreon may be a better option. Content creators have more control of their subscriber contact information, compared to Apple. Patreon has a really simple way of helping content creators, by allowing different payment tiers access to different content. PDFs, transcripts, ebooks, photos, or even video. But, as with all premium content, you have to ask yourself: “Is it premium enough? Would I pay for this?” Another way to offer premium content is to limit the amount of shows that you offer for free. Then, if your followers want anything past that, they have to pay a monthly fee. A number of podcast hosting platforms offer premium access to content. https://www.captivate.fm/signup/?ref=circle270media (CaptivateFM) allows a private podcast feed and, if you want to monetize, a way to collect and manage payments. Private podcast feeds are perfect for hosting premium content because they are designed to keep it secure and gated. A few popular options for payment are Patreon, Glow, Supercast or, if you use WordPress, MemberPress. Products You can create t-shirts, tote bags, anything you like with your logo, art, sayings, and sell this to your audience. https://www.teepublic.com/ (TeePublic) are very podcaster friendly! You could sell physical courses, ebooks or webinars if you have knowledge about a certain subject. Or https://gumroad.com/ (write a book) if you're an author. Gumroad makes it easy for you to sell digital products, memberships and more. You'll need payment services like PayPal or Stripe so you can get paid. Services Coaching and consulting are really common ways that podcasters monetize their shows. You could have group coaching, masterminding, monthly packages and VIP days that you offer to listeners. You will need a way to book your time in a digital calendar. https://www.booklikeaboss.com/?idev_id=531 (Book Like A Boss) is a great resource. As well as Calendly, Picktime, YouCanBook.me. Letting your potential clients have easy access to your calendar is key. Last, but not least, you'll need to decide on some structure for your offering. How are you going to offer what it is you're offering?...

In the real estate industry, networking is the lifeblood for your business. If you are not a natural networker, this just might be the episode that you need to hear! If networking comes easy to you, this episode will also set you up for success! I have learned that networking is not just about the people you meet, but also about how much value you can bring to a conversation. I previously hated networking For a long time, I hated networking. I always thought real estate networking was just about how many people you can meet. I didn’t always want to talk to people, the ones I did talk to did not always turn into business, one and on...I read a quote on LinkedIn from Oleg Vishnepolsky that said “networking is not just how many people we meet, its how many people we help, recommend, and introduce to others.” I love this perspective, andI think this is a much better approach to networking for business. Use a scheduler link Networking does not have to be a game of back and forth, coordinating schedules and indecisiveness about what coffee shop to meet in. If you are trying to network more, I highly recommend using a scheduler app like youcanbook.me or calendly (there are others, just google scheduler apps). These apps make it easy to set your appointment schedule, gather name and contact information, and choose a meeting place. I use youcanbook.me to get those ever-important face to face conversations. Once a person selects an available time, it automatically gets added to my calendar, and sets a notification! Become a walking rolodex I know a rolodex is a little outdated, but It still denotes having all of your contacts in one spot, so i’ll reference it! I think Oleg Vishnepolsky is right when he said “networking is not just how many people we meet, its how many people we help, recommend, and introduce to others.” With that in mind, how can you leverage your list of brokers, roofers, plumbers, contractors, cleaners, and painters to help you network better? Share them. In my newsletter and on my LinkedIn, I advertise that I have an amazing list of referral partners. Anytime someone on my list refers me, I ask them if I can publically thank them on LinkedIn. I take a selfie, write a thank you note, and mention them in the description or comments. This actually drives more referrals, because the people on my list know that they are appreciated! Create your top 25 list Here’s what I would recommend...go through your list and create a “top 25” list. Once you have that established, reach out to them once a month (I am starting to do this on LinkedIn) to share knowledge and pass referrals. If you are an influencer in your community, your referrals are powerful! Outline of this great episode [0:30] “Networking is not just how many people we meet, its how many people we help, recommend, and introduce to others.” [2:00] Previously, I hated networking [4:00] Use a scheduler link [8:00] Become a walking rolodex [9:30] Advertise that you have an amazing list! Bridget Harris, CEO and co-founder of youcanbook.me, had initially assumed she would be raising money for the online scheduling tool she was building with her co-founder. Bridget and Keith Harris spoke to many investors, looked at many term sheets and soon began grasping a peculiar fact - running a company with VC funding doesn't make things easier, if anything, it may make them more difficult. The latest guest on the SaaS Revolution Show, Bridget has been bootstrapping youcanbook.me for the past six years. While the bootstrapped route is not for the faint-hearted, it allowed them to grow as fast as they wanted, even if that required expert knowledge of the difference between cash flow and actual income The company now employs 13 people and recently reached $2 million in ARR and is well on track to get to $3 million by the end of the year. Listen on to learn: How you learn to determine which expense makes sense and which doesn't What made Bridget well suited for the bootstrapped path How to know when to take a risk and when not to How to make the finances work in a bootstrapped company and still grow What is a defining characteristic of a great entrepreneur P.S. Podcastification - podcasting tips, podcast tricks, how to podcast better
What is the best way to reach out to influencers and guest you REALLY, REALLY, REALLY want to be on your podcast. In this series I’m going to walk you through everything from reaching out to guests to the practical parts of how you get the conversation scheduled, what you can do to make it easy for them to say “Yes” to you, and the promotion and follow-up that needs to happen all along the way. If you want to reach out to influencers effectively, I suggest you take the time to listen to this episode. [2:58] Dream big! Create a list of the influencers you would LOVE to have on your podcast. If you don’t know who you would like to have as a stellar guest on your podcast then you’re never going to reach out to them. You’ve got to think outside the realm of reality to dream a little. What does that mean? You’ll hear my version of getting outside the box of current reality in this section of the episode. You’re going to be challenged to step outside your comfort zone for the sake of growth - to put you into a place of risk and opportunity all at the same time. [6:16] Do your homework about your guests. Homework. In school, I HATED homework. But when it comes to life, business, etc. you’ve got to work hard to create the reality you want. So, as you look at the bullet point list of ideal influencers you want to have as a guest on your podcast, you need to understand exactly why that person is a fit for your audience. You need to know exactly why that guest would bring great value to your show. [8:45] Focus on the benefit it will be to YOUR GUEST to appear on your podcast. Once you understand WHO is the best guest to have on your podcast you have to begin to craft the correspondence you’re going to send to them that invites them to be a guest on your podcast. You need to do this in a way that makes it obvious that you want to add value to what they are doing. In shortTo, you want to help them. Your outreach to influencers in your niche has to be aimed at benefitting those you’re reaching out to. It’s called relationship marketing, it’s called SOCIAL sales - and you’ll get a lot more traction when you approach it that way. I’m walking through the mindset and the practice of doing this well, on this episode. [17:17] How are you practically going to connect with the influencer in your space? When it comes to reaching out to those who are the influencers in your niche, what’s the best way to reach out to them? Email? A contact form? Social media? A phone call? There are LOTS of options but are there specific ways that are better than others? Yes, there are. What are they? My answer is that “it depends.” You knew that was coming, didn’t you? :) On this episode I’m going to unpack that answer to help you think through what it will take to reach those who will bring such great value to your audience. [24:22] Tools to make it easier for the influencer to say “yes.” When you reach out to the influencer you’re hoping will agree to be on your podcast you need to make it easy for them to say, “Yes.” Who do you do that? Through making it convenient for them to schedule a time to have the conversation, to provide you the resources you need to make their episode the best it can be, and more. I walk through the details of making it practically possible for that guest to join you on your podcast. www.YouCanBook.me Schedule Once Acuity Scheduling Connect with me… Carey(AT)PodcastFastTrack.com On Facebook On Twitter
Podcastification - podcasting tips, podcast tricks, how to podcast better
HTTP://WWW.PODCASTFASTTRACK.COM If you do an interview-based podcast you know the headache of booking qualified podcast guests. The internet (and the world, for that matter) is a very big place. How do you find, connect with, and book the people who your audience will benefit from the most? On this episode, I’m going to tell you how I recommend my clients do this - and I’m going to explain WHY I do. In the end, it’s up to YOU to provide the best content you can to your podcast listeners, and this could be the missing step you need. [2:01] Why you MUST research your podcast guests. There are many people you COULD invite to be a guest on your podcast. But there are only a handful that you SHOULD extend the invitation to. It’s your job to search out that handful of experts who will be of the greatest benefit to your audience. On this episode, I’m going to explain to you what it really means to do your homework when it comes to reaching out to potential guests for your podcast and tell you some slightly easier ways to go about it. [4:54] Focus on your podcast guests and benefits to THEM. Every person you invite to be a guest on your show has their own goals and dreams that they are trying to fulfill. When you contact them to ask if they will be on your podcast, they are trying to figure out if doing so will help them fulfill those goals and dreams. On this episode, I’m going to tell you how you can help them make that decision by inviting them in a way that focuses on THEM instead of on you and your listeners. This tip alone could amplify the quality of your podcast guests if you will apply it. [5:45] Potential guests for your podcast will be more likely to accept your invite if you do this… Want to know the one thing that can make all the difference to a potential podcast guest saying “Yes” instead of “No”? Here it is: You’ve got to give them the opportunity to accomplish everything they would hope might happen by being on your show. That means helping them promote things they want to promote, giving them the opportunity to reach out to your audience and more. Find out what it takes to get the best guests for your podcast AND make it worth their time to be on your show, on this episode. Who knows, you might also build some lasting relationships with professionals and experts in your field in the process.
