When I worked for the federal government, I HATED the fact that I had to ask for permission.Permission to get time off. Permission to change a procedure.Permission to be on a National project.Permission to be myself (WHICH ... is a lot to take in, when you consider how much I swear). What's funny is that in listening to Taylor Quinn's 365-days of daily podcasts ... I feel like I embraced the PERMISSION to show up on these podcasts as myself, without editing, without worrying about what other people are HEARING me say. When we worry about how others perceive us, it's a sure-fire way to step right the fuck out of the vortex and in this watered down version of ourselves. And THAT ... is not inspiring. So let's fuckin go ... season 2 starts NOWWWWWWW (and so does my own challenge ... 30 days of continual podcast releases with NO EDITING).My life ... just ... got ... better.Yours can too.oh ya and p.s. leave a review, would ya??? I want more women in the world, to stop thinking about their dreams and start living them. Season 2 is fire. One of the hardest self-limiting beliefs I had to overcome on my healing journey was thinking his addiction was because I wasn't good enough, wasn't attractive enough, wasn't sexy enough, etc.I HATED my body after discovering the betrayal and my self-confidence was gooonnneeeee. I thought if I was "better" or more attractive I could have prevented it. These are awful lies we tell ourselves, especially considering HIS ADDICTION STARTED BEFORE YOUR RELATIONSHIP. IT STARTED BEFORE HE EVEN MET YOU.In this episode, we dive into this and I back it up with what sexual addiction therapists have said as well. When I was little, the situation that was most likely to cause me to melt down was having to wear shoes. I HATED wearing shoes. I spent a lot of my childhood in Jellies. (If you don't remember Jellies, they were my generation's version of Crocs.) One of the big challenges with the things that bother/upset/stress out our kids is that we can't always figure out what is happening. It could be smells. Or sounds. Or lights. Or vibrations. It's very difficult to prevent triggers that we aren't even aware of, and it can be just as difficult for our kids to understand what they are experiencing and how to avoid it. This week's podcast/YouTube episode is all about sensory processing. It's a common term in the neurodivergent world, but it's often poorly understood. My guest is Hanna Munro, an occupational therapist who has both professional and personal experience supporting kids with sensory processing challenges. Here's a clip from the episode: It's often, like you say, it's not that you turn it on and it's immediately horrible and you have to turn it off, it's that cumulative effect. They maybe don't realize. So they can't go home and say to their parents, "All the lights in class, they're causing me sensory overload." They don't say that. They don't even know that. It's just all day long, adding to, you know... and then that's when you have one of these meltdowns when you get home. It's actually the background sound, the light, all these things build up. And then there's also people... we're often taught, aren't we, about five senses. And I don't know why because there isn't five senses, there's at least eight senses. And the ones that we're missed out being taught are the really, really important ones. How to find Hanna: FB: Hanna Munro, Occupational Therapy YouTube: Hanna Munro

When I was building my company Spheric Technologies in 2003, my schedule was a MESS. 100-hour work weeks… Working until 2 a.m. and then back in meetings again at 7 a.m… And 95% of my calendar was filled with work that drained my energy. I HATED getting out of bed. Nowadays, thanks to the strategies I want to share with you today, my life and business are totally different... I run multiple 8-figure companies working just 7 hours on some weeks... I get to spend most of my time doing what I love... coaching amazing founders. And I explode out of bed, pumped full of energy to crush the day. How did I get here? Hard work. But also, after years of grinding and crawling through the trenches… I've discovered the secret to designing my calendar and life to be the most effective CEO and unlock painless growth. I was wrong. The best horror movie of 2019 was a film I HATED when I saw it in the theater, but this damn movie won't leave me alone. I must be my own worst enemy. Is it Brightburn? Is it Crawl? Is it Platform? Is it Doctor Sleep? I'm betting you haven't guessed what it is. How much am I betting? I've got 5 on it. Have you ever changed your mind completely about a horror movie? Gone from hating it to loving it, or vice versa? Let's talk about it. PLUS, we're giving you our Hidden Horror Gem of the week, a devilish (and crazy!) British classic from the 60's with a doomed star and one of horror's most beloved doctors... With my grief, I HATED when people would tell me to "just move on". For the longest time I thought there was something wrong with me. I kept trying to "move on" to make everyone else around me happy, but it just wouldn't work. What I learned with time, is that there wasn't something wrong with me, there was something wrong with the advice that was being given to me. There is no such thing as moving on from a loved one, and I am so sorry if someone made you feel otherwise. When someone makes such an impact on your life they become a part of you, even if they aren't here physically. The memories they left you and the values they taught you will carry on within you forever. We don't ever move on, we move forward. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/kaitlin-reagan/support

I'm not lazy, I just can't stand doing repetitive tasks...that's why I fell in love with automation.I found out early on in my career in HR that I HATED repetitive tasks. I looked to technology to automate and streamline my tasks. When I started my business in April of 2020, I did the same thing. That's how I found Dubsado and other tools like Zapier and ClickUp. I loved learning and adding all of these tools into my business. I saw other entrepreneurs struggling to stay afloat in their businesses and that's when I found my calling. I love to help entrepreneurs map out their processes and automate them using technology. Learn more about Amy here!Learn more about Path to Podcast Success here!
After getting a bit serious last week, I wanted to have some fun and thanks to HBO Max, I was able to get a big, dumb action movie. If you recall from the review I did with Brendan on the first XXX movie, I HATED it. This time Vin Diesel is gone and Ice Cube steps in, so this should be more my speed right? Of course with Cube being the star, I got some hip hop talk in, gave my quick thoughts on the new Chris Rock and Marlon Wayans stand up specials and I have a quick PSA for you. It's such a funny story. When we started living together, I HATED making customer service calls. I could feel the anxiety in my stomach. I HATED talking to people in general. It began with an outright refusal by my partner make any of those calls. He knew what we was doing. He could navigate himself through the deepest and most difficult conversations, and more so the heart of any human. His career had been built around it-He knew what we was doing. So he made me do each. one.I probably hated him for it at the time. I'm sure I did. But today, speaking, and the art of conversation has become one of my greatest strengths. What I mean by this is, I'm not afraid to have any conversation. And even if I am, it sure as hell won't stop me from having it.This is Episode 128- a special one for Valentine's Day. My partner always gave me the confidence I needed to speak, even though I was afraid to all my life. (it has also resulted in a lot of arguing with him and telling him things he doesn't like to hear- but what are partners for? What's a best friend for?) I love you and I wish you the best day of your life. Go check out my partner T's podcast The Stop Sinking Show after. Have fun!
Negative reviews are fun to read—just asks the scores of film fans that have purchased Roger Ebert's bestselling collection of them, I Hated, Hated, Hated This Movie. Truth is, they can be very fun to write, too, at least for a critic who finds cathartic pleasure in chronicling their own torturous experience with a bad movie, book, meal, etc. But there is an art to penning a pan—and maybe a code of conduct the critic should follow, lest scathing analysis shade into mean-spirited invective. On this week's very inside-baseball episode of Film Club, critics A.A. Dowd and Katie Rife take the listener behind the curtain of their critical process and discuss how to write about bad movies right.Visit: https://www.avclub.com/Like: https://www.facebook.com/theavclubFollow: https://twitter.com/theavclubSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Glauco has been honored to be part of special performances to benefit the Episcopal Actors' Guild and the Cape May Stage. Reviewed in the Times Square Chronicles, “Betsy (Alison Fraser) longs for something more, alongside interactions of the less virtuous kind with the handsome and sweet-talking Flavio, played seductively by the appealing Glauco Araujo (Spielvogel's Come Back Once More).” Recently, Glauco performed in a short bio-pic entitled Dance for Freedom directed by Severine Reisp, highlighting the challenges people of color face today, and which has garnered recognition as the First-Place Recipient of the Dr. David Milch Foundation/CCNY Award in short film competition. I know you have BIG goals that you are excited about! I'm talking about the BIG ones!! The visions, the dreams, and the hopes that are almost SCARY when you think about them! I get it! I have those same ones. Here is what typically happens… We get excited about our goals and dreams… We write them down We start going after them And we think that the biggest challenge to achieving our goal is the hard work & consistency of doing the actual tasks that will help us achieve the goal. Therefore, we invest our time, money, and energy toward things that help us with those tasks For example: Health goals à Get Gym membership Business goals à Purchase and take an online course or conference Career goals à Development of new skills Husband & Fatherhood à Spend more time with wife & family But how many times have you tried the NEW THING or some NEW TASK that sounds like it's supposed to work…and then results never change?? OR it only changes temporarily?? Trust me…I'm not saying these tasks and behaviors are not important, because they are…HOWEVER…what I've found is that it IS NOT THE TASKS AND BEHAVIORS that are your greatest challenge in achieving your goals. The greatest challenge you have in achieving your goals is NOT GETTING BETTER…it is BELIEVING BETTER!! It's believing enough to get started, but also believing enough to continue when everything around you says…it ain't possible!! Remember the ‘success sequence' and embed it in your memory: Beliefs à Thoughts à Feelings à Actions/Behaviors à Results We are trying to change our results by changing our behaviors only. And the reality is, we aren't going back deep enough into the success sequence to create new lasting change. To create new results you have to have new belief…not just new behaviors! The new belief will translate into new behaviors which will eventually turn into new results. The beliefs that go in are the results that come out! Also, consider this. Typically, the way our internal beliefs are formed is by our external environment. Our external environment includes everything around us including (1) people around us, (2) things we watch and listen to, and a HUGE one is (3) our current results. Our current results, which are often not where we want to be, is constantly convincing us that WE ARE OUR CURRENT RESULTS! Our current results, shape our internal belief and identity. For example, if you currently earn a certain income, but want to make more, then your current income is shaping your mind to believe that you ARE your current income…and therefore leading to thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that keep you at that income. The good news is that your mind and the beliefs you have are equally influenced by your internal environment, just as strong and effective as your external environment. Your internal environment includes (1) things you tell yourself, (2) memories, (3) new intentional directed thoughts. Therefore, you can literally direct your thoughts to create beliefs that will lead to new behaviors and new results! However, your greatest challenge is maintaining the thoughts that create a belief that is consistent with the goals you are pursuing…when EVERYTHING AROUND IS TRYING TO CONVINCE YOU THAT YOU ARE YOUR CURRENT RESULTS! I'm here to tell you…YOU ARE NOT YOUR CURRENT RESULTS! YOU ARE YOUR FUTURE GOAL!! For example…I was once a night owl. I HATED getting up early. However, I needed to change my routine. I did everything I could to switch my habits from night owl to early riser…bought books, set my alarm earlier, etc. But it wouldn't happen. Not until I started working on a new belief, by directing my thoughts toward believing I was an early riser…did I change. I now get up consistently between 5-6am and get more done in my day. NEW BELIEF = NEW RESULTS Here are some steps you can practice to start building a new belief: Train the brain Write an affirmation (start with 1…whatever your greatest goal is): Begin the affirmation with the words…”I AM __________” and fill in the blank with the vision you have of yourself. (i.e. I AM a millionaire, I AM in great shape, I AM a great & loving husband, etc.) Reinforce the affirmation: “I AM the type of man who _________”. Fill in the blank with behaviors that the person described in your affirmation would do. (i.e. I am the type of person that calls more clients…that works out 3 times a week…etc. Say the affirmations daily multiple times a day Believe what you say. Envision and experience the future achieved goal when you say the affirmations and reinforcements. Connect emotionally with your goal and FEEL it happening! Create a positive external environment What are you listening to?? Listen to things that inspire and help solidify your beliefs…like this podcast J Stay consistent with these actions to create a new internal environment and watch what happens! But remember…your toughest challenge will be actually believing it. Stay consistent and you'll get better…and so will your results! What are you putting off - and why? I HATED phone calls… I’m still not someone who is on the phone regularly. I would procrastinate about every call I had to make. Or I would delegate it to someone else. Having to handle accounting queries at work did MAKE me confront the fear of phones. I was being called multiple times a day. It was only by analysing the stories in my life that I saw where this fear of the phone came from. My dad was an incredibly hard working vet. In the early years of my life, he was on call most nights. I came to associate the phone ringing with him and my mum having to leave for a veterinary emergency. Dinners interrupted. Film nights cut short. Board games folded away early. I associated the phone with an end to ‘playtime’. BOOM! There was the reason I didn’t like the phone. There was the reason I put off phone calls. Only by acknowledging this story was I able to see how unhelpful it was to me. In today’s podcast, I share how to get over the stories from your past - AND four other tips for confronting your to do list! Let’s stop putting things off for good!
Welcome to my “Mini Mummy Makeoversary”!!!!!! In January 2020, I took the plunge and opted to have cosmetic surgery to repair an umbilical hernia and a tummy tuck. It was a big decision, not just financially but emotionally. My “high risk” pregnancies gave me 2 incredibly healthy, happy babies; 2 umbilical hernias, blood clots, varicose veins and a fair amount of excess abdominal skin! I didn’t like it. In fact, I HATED it. So…..I opted to go under the knife…..!!!!!! Then the Coronavirus hit.Having surgery was a financial sacrifice that I’m grateful I was fortunate enough to even consider, and now maintaining the great work of my doctor has been a challenge I haven’t been able to conquer. My fight to reverse my “quarantine 15” (or more like 40!!!!!) is ongoing, and I’m committed to this fight. I’m making changes to my diet and lifestyle, and I have mentors metaphorically holding my hand!!!!!Are you fighting a similar fight? Do you need a support network? Can I be honest with you? I had depression for six years of my life. What got me through it wasn't medication or therapy or counselling. All of those are viable routes for tackling this horrendous and debilitating mental illness, but they couldn't work for me. The reason being I HATED my life! I hated everything about it and I was lying day in and day out about who I was to the world. The cure for me, then, was to face up to the truth of who I was and go on an incredible journey of reconnecting with my truth, changing my circumstances and sharing myself more fully with the world. In order to do that I had to face some hard realities, take total ownership of my own mental health (not an easy thing to do, I know!) and take some rather unconventional steps. In this episode, I'd like to share three of the things I did or learnt that helped me move through depression. I have been scared to share this in the past fearing the backlash but if I didn't know this stuff, I would still be suffering today. It's what I needed to hear and so I'm going to trust it's what you need to hear if you find yourself watching this video. I really hope there is a message in this video that gives you hope, provides some momentum or helps you think differently about your situation just for a second long enough to take action that will change your life positively. I want to make it clear, as I say here, I am not a Doctor or a psychologist or anything like that. I was diagnosed with depression in 2015 after six long years of suffering. What happened in 2015 changed my life and things have never been the same since. Show Up to Go UpEp 45 How Can You Make Life Easier? How can you make life easer? We like to overcomplicated things but it's really simple. You just have to ask the question. You have the answers within you. What if you let things be easy? What would that look it? Now go for it! Trust your gut! It will never lead you to the wrong place! When I first moved to Atlanta I was working at a job I HATED but I made good money. Every day when I would go to work I had weight on me and I never looked forward to it. It was exhausting to live so out of alignment! I knew I hated the place but I was afraid to leave because the money was so good and, let's be honest, I like making money. I didn't know what the exact solution was but I knew I needed to take a leap of faith. I reached out to a fitness studio by my house and instantly connected with the owner. I started teaching fitness for the first time and fell in love with it. From there, I met a client who is a casting director and has helped me book numerous commercials - which is why I moved to Atlanta in the first place. The universe has your back you just have to have the courage to leap and listen when you know there is a better, easier way.Head over to my website www.showuptogoup.com for more free resources and to download your free guide to get unstuck!

Do you like the sound of your voice when speaking English? Do you feel that you use it to its full potential? Can people hear you well? I don't mean the metaphorical way of speaking “is your voice heard”' – I mean – is your voice carried across the room and gets into people's ears? Can you express different emotions using your voice? Do you feel that your voice is varied and interesting? Or is it monotone? People tend to dislike their voices. In fact, I remember vividly the time when I used to record my voice on an answering machine and I HATED playing it back. When it comes to speaking a second language it becomes even more challenging. Because, it's not enough that we have all those other aspects of a language to deal with (vocabulary, pronunciation, Grammar, etc. ) sometimes, oftentimes, speakers of English as a second language change, manipulate or HIDE their voices when speaking English. But unlike other physical features, we're born with – our height, body shape, eyesight – your voice is something you CAN control. If only you knew how. In this episode, you will learn how to understand your voice, get comfortable with it, and discover a few exercises that will help you free your voice and discover new placements, expressions, and power. I’m going to be real with you for a second, when I was growing up, I HATED reading. But now I find books inspiring, interesting, imaginative (how many I words can I come up with?!) So I created a children’s library just for JP so that he could learn, escape to new worlds, and hopefully be more excited about reading than when I was a kid. In today’s episode I’m sharing JPs (and mine) top 10 children’s books. Enjoy!SHOW NOTES
Your career is a huge part of your life, and when it doesn’t leave you feeling fulfilled and satisfied, it can have a pretty big negative impact on your overall outlook and attitude. If your position truly has you clenching your fists and wanting to bash your head against a wall every single day, it’s probably smart to start looking for something else. Lets be real. BUT- let’s face it—we don’t all have the luxury to pack up our desks and wave goodbye to our supervisors whenever the going gets a little tough. That means you need to stick it out in this miserable position for at least a little while longer, and you’re desperate for any advice that helps make that process a bit easier. In this podcast, I share my story about a job I HATED and give you five tips to get through it.
In today's Nooner Show episode, we spoke with Marlene Robinson. She opens up about her life and how she became the owner of Miig Enterprise. We discussed the non-negotiables in her life that keep her consistent. She believes that everyone has a purpose we just need to find it and use it to help others. Tune in now to hear our great person of the week! I can't wait to hear what you thought of this episode. Don’t forget to share the goodness! Want to Learn More about Marlene? Check out these fun facts: What was your first word? No clue and my mom doesn't remember either School achievements: No achievements whatsoever. I dropped out of high school at 16 and got a full time job. I pretty much stopped going to school at 15. I went to a different school almost every year. I was at the same school for 4th & 5th and a different school for 6th & 7th, but other than that it was a different school EVERY YEAR! I HATED school!!! I got my first 'F's' on a report card in 5th grad and started ditching class in 8th grade. HOWEVER....When I was 21 I pulled my head out of my ass and realized I needed to go to college. It's a long story but I ended up spending 10 years of my full-time career and married life going to college at night and graduated Magna Cum Laude at the age of 35. Straight 'A's' in EVERY SINGLE CLASS for 10 years....except Anthropology, I really think carbon dating is flawed and kind of a bull-shit science. Oh...and I ran away from home at 17 to marry my boyfriend. We were married for 14 years. What was your nickname as a child? Sparkle, Spark, Sparkey What was your imaginary friend's name and a description of them? Never had one. But I LOVED my stuffed animals and dolls. Who is your favority celebrity and why? After that Superbowl performance I think Shakira! She's the ultimate performer, singer, dancer, drummer, guitarist and speaks like 6 languages...and is smokin hot! What was your most embarrassing moment? The time I quit that cocktail waitressing job and ran out the kitchen exit and set of the fire alarm. Oh gawd!! Do you believe the toilet paper should roll from the top or the bottom? TOP Favorite food? Mexican....chili verde to be exact, but I just love Mexican food and miss California Mexican food. Most disgusting food? anything with Chinese 5 spice. Which superpower would you want to have and why? Flying. I often dream of flying. I love riding those spinning swings rides at the fair and putting my arms to the side, close my eyes and feel like I'm flying. I've also done hanggliding and LOVED IT!!! I'm afraid of heights unless I feel secured and like I could fly What is your greatest fear? being pushed off of a boat in the middle of the ocean and left there to die or survive but super deep water scares the shit out of me if I don't have a life vest on. But I am a Scubadiver. I would just rather be under the water than on top of it. What is your biggest dream? To produce the opening ceremonies of the olympics. What is your stance on pineapple on pizza? I wouldn't order it but if its the only pizza around I'll eat it. If you were a flower, which one would you be? Peonie! Layered, deep, kinda messy and thick. LOL! In a zombie apocalypse, what is your weapon of choice? I don't believe in zombies. If you had 10 dogs and someone took one, how many dogs would you have left? 10 dogs & 1 dead body If you had to wear a disclaimer statement everywhere you went, what would it say? Beware sometimes assy and sometimes sassy...depends on how much I like you! We're doing a deep dive into a strategy I used to meet 50 interesting people in a year. It came at a REALLY important time. I had just moved to a new area. I was trying to launch my business but I didn't know anyone and no one knew me! I HATED (and still do) typical “networking” style meetings, so I needed to find a different way. I uncovered a strategy along with 5 specific questions that made all the difference. It helped me to connect with some incredible people and grow some rich relationships. Plus, this “people-meeting” strategy was sustainable for me… even though I'm a PROUD introvert! In this episode, I will walk you through the story, the strategy, and the questions that I still use every week! We all know that if we want to make an impact in the world… we can't do it alone. This strategy will help you to build your tribe, make some new friends, and have a positive impact on the world in the process! I'm excited about this. It's been a while since we've done a deep dive where it's just you and me talking, so I'm excited about this. I'll tell you what, the topic for this particular episode came from one of my coaching clients. He's a newer entrepreneur doing some really cool stuff, really trying to grow his business in different ways. He's got something that he's growing that I believe is going to be global, but he is new to his area, really kind of trying to establish himself. He's trying to establish his brand. He came to me, and one of the things we were talking about was how do you do that? How do you grow your network? How do you grow your connections? It really led to an interesting conversation and a memory, maybe an insight, that I've realized is at the core of my business, but sometimes don't you need to just have conversations that help to draw out some of that stuff out? It's like those core beliefs that are always around you. You're living by them, but maybe you don't always recognize that, right, until you have a conversation or somebody asks you a question. Well, that was definitely the case, and one of the things we started to dig into is this strategy that has really been foundational for me as an entrepreneur, but it's also been really important over the last almost two decades, it's crazy to think about, for growing my business, but also more so, maybe more so, growing rich relationships in my life. Because I believe it's important to have a good, solid network. It's good to know people. It's good to be connected, all of those things. If you're just doing that for networking's sake, that's pretty gross. Do you know what I mean? I'm an introvert, so there's going to be a lot of biases that I share with you that might just totally be biased towards the introvert, but I can tell you, it's one of those having a bunch of relationships where I kind of know one or a few things about a lot of people, but not have any rich relationships. It doesn't sound all that satisfying to me. Plus, I look back on how my business got started and kind of where it is now, and I've realized, one of the ways that I've grown what I'm wildly blessed to say is a business that I love is really trying to provide value. Meeting people, connecting with people,
Once you discover our grandparent's house is haunted, how do you tell your family? How do you discover who’s haunting it? Is there a way to help the spirits pass on without freighting your entire family? They write: “My mom told me that she was told, either by my Great-Grandma or Great-Grandpa, that when they bought the house instead of the house being divided into apartments, it was dividing into various COMPARTMENTS for the amorous activity that would take place. That house, and all its apartments, were haunted. At one point my uncle used to live in the side apartment, and he was going through a rough separation with his horrible ex-wife, and he had told me he would pay me to get off the bus at my Great Grandpas and clean his apartment for him, as he was working a lot and dealing with custody issues and didn’t have the time. I took the offer, getting close to driving age and needing to save up money. But whenever I was there and would go up the stairs, I would walk sideways up the stairs to the bedrooms because I felt like I was being followed and watched. I HATED cleaning the bedrooms for the same reason.” To hear more real ghost stories, become a supporter of our show and get every episode, including our weekly bonus episodes at http://www.ghostpodcast.com or http://www.patreon.com/realghoststories To hear more real ghost stories, become a supporter of our show and get every episode, including our weekly bonus episodes at http://www.ghostpodcast.com or http://www.patreon.com/realghoststories Watch more at: http://www.realghoststoriesonline.com/grandpas-house/ If you have a real ghost story or supernatural event to report, please write into our show or call 1-855-853-4802! Welcome to episode #117! Why you should forgive: Guided Meditation Forgiveness cuts the energetic cords that keeps you attached to people who have hurt you. Forgiveness is an act of self-love. For every person you forgive, you heal a wound of your own. Forgiveness weakens the egos ability to hold onto anger, hurt and resentment. Forgiveness shows that you are evolving emotionally and spiritually. Forgiveness is a key component with healing wounds. Forgiveness helps to clear energetic baggage and will allow new energy to emerge in your life. Please understand that forgiveness doesn’t mean excusing people’s toxic behavior toward you. It doesn’t mean you have to continue to allow them into your life. They don’t even have to be physically present to forgive them and free them from your vibratory field. Forgiveness has been one of the most difficult yet rewarding parts of my healing journey. I teach forgiveness as one of the pillars of the healing process. I HATED my father. I wished his death many of times. But when I truly sat down and meditated on forgiving him, I started to cut the energetic cords and release the pain. I have a very special guest for you today! Frankly, I'm very shocked that we are able to get someone with such incredible stature in this show. SHE’S AMAZING! She's an incredible individual and we're all very lucky to have her here. I'm not gonna say the name of her MLM. I wanna keep it very company neutral so this remains a PURE marketing knowledge place. She… Has helped open 40 countries for the network marketing company she's a part of. Has a downline of over FOUR AND A HALF MILLION people! Is an INCREDIBLE person and she has a podcast called MLM Game Changer. We're VERY privileged to have her on here today. Teresa, welcome to the show. THE QUEEN OF OFFLINE RECRUITING Teresa Harding: Thank you! I am REALLY excited to be here and I honestly feel really honored because you’ve been a mentor for a lot of the things that I've learned. Thank you for having me! Steve: That's awesome, thanks so much. People may not know you yet or have listened to your podcast yet… How did you get started in this game? Teresa: Oh, my goodness, I HATED network marketing. I thought it was almost EVIL. There were experiences where people tricked you into coming to a meeting at their house… They invite you to dinner, that whole thing, and I couldn't stand it! I was not interested AT ALL. https://youtu.be/aqn-PxmrYGE My sister invited me to a class, and I love my sister. We're very close. I knew I was going to go support her but I told my husband, "Look, would you please come with me? I have to go to this thing because I have to support her." So I went and I was SURPRISED by the product. As you guys all know… Network marketing companies often have pretty amazing products. Steve: Amazing products! Teresa: I didn't know that at the time… Ours is a health product. My niece at the time was two years old… She started having some pretty serious neurological problems that were pretty scary, and someone told my sister, "Oh, you should try this product"... And I thought, "Oh, brother, are you kidding me?" The support and what I saw was actually UNBELIEVABLE… So I started researching and looking into it and ended up WANTING the product but NOT gonna the business. I started using the product and helping people with the product and I started getting a little paycheck but I WASN’T trying to build. BUILDING AN OFFLINE RECRUITING BUSINESS So, I thought, "Fine. I'll do this for three months. I am not talking to my friend and I am not talking to my family." Steve: Right! Teresa: In that, I think we're kindred spirits. I have heard SO MANY of your trainings! That's how I got involved, fell in love with it and now, LOVE… Helping people Network marketing Steve: When did it start becoming a REAL thing for you? You're like, "Man, this is actually something that I wanna go full-time into and get four and a half million people"? Obviously, it didn't happen all at once… But what did that look like? Teresa: And of course, it doesn't happen by yourself. It really takes A LOT of people working hard together and I have a lot of amazing leaders on my team, as you can imagine. Once I decided I'm gonna do this for three months… I'm kind of a go-getter and I always reach my goals. My goals are always crazy high where I constantly have naysayers telling me it can't be done, and I just go ahead and do it anyway… I don't always reach them as soon as I want. I decided to try it for 3 months and then I went after it… It was working and it was UNBELIEVABLE! NETWORK MARKETING IS HELPING PEOPLE I quickly discovered that it really IS about helping people. I built mine offline at first and it's just been amazing. And I absolutely that you don't pressure people. It's not about chasing, hunting people down. We are not the hunter and they are not the target. Steve: Yeah, absolutely. One of the biggest questions I get, and I'm sure you get it all the time, is… “How long have you been at it?” And I feel like the thing that they're asking is, “Is it really worth it for me to go after that?” And they're trying to find some logical reason to release themselves from the pressure of moving forward. With that backdrop, and everyone now knowing how I feel about that… How long have you been at it? Teresa: I've been doing this for 11 years. At first, I was doing it part-time because I was a stay-at-home mom. I'd never really been involved in business before. Of course, I had skills and I had been to college… But I wanted to raise my own kids. So, I did that and this came about right as my kids were getting a little bit older. I would only do it part-time while they were at school or at their sports practices and things like that. NETWORK MARKETING PART TIME For the first several years, it was very part-time… But I'm an overachiever, which is fun for me. I would get A LOT done in the time that I had but then… As it got to a point where I could spend more time on it and I was able to do it full-time, I remember the day thinking, "Okay. Now, let's see what we can do." At that point, I was a pretty high rank (third from the highest rank that you could achieve in the company). I'd achieved A LOT… Steve: That's so awesome. Teresa is 100% the queen of offline building. You have this down to a SCIENCE. You're so good at it, you're known for it. You have your own programs on that as well! Did you learn those things? I'm sure some of it was discovered along the way… Better tactics and methods on recruiting... How do you start getting really good at that? Because MOST don't. Teresa: First of all, you have to know… I am EXTREMELY opinionated about how it should be done. The way that people pressure and try to approach all their friends and family… I did not agree with that AT ALL! We DO have people make their list… But the way they approach is absolutely about WHAT they know that person actually NEEDS. The thing I fell in love with when I found your online stuff was that we had been trying to figure out online for the last four years and we HAD figured it out… But not to the extent that you had. NETWORK MARKETING ONLINE When I found your stuff I freaked out because I was like, "Oh, my goodness." We HAD figured it out, but that was the icing on the cake! We've geeked out over you… Over ClickFunnels… All of that. The way that you teach online, that's exactly how you should be doing it offline. All the things that you do… Attract the people who are interested Don't go after the people who are not interested Not trying to get every single person on your team If you're worrying more about the other person than yourself… You're meeting their needs and solving their problems. If you can solve their problems, you'll continue that journey together. But if you CAN’T, you can still be friends. You don't need to bring up that stuff all the time. The best compliment I ever got was when a neighbor of mine came to me needing something for a health situation. She didn't use our product, but she knew of our product. She needed to find something for her daughter and asked if we had anything. I told her “Yes”, I was HELPING her. She said, "There are a lot of people in our neighborhood who do your business… My husband said, I don't want you talking to anyone else, I want you talking to Teresa because she won't hound us, and she won't bug us." Steve: WOW! Teresa: That's probably the most powerful compliment because that is EXACTLY how you build offline… NETWORK MARKETING ONLINE VS OFFLINE You do the same things that we do ONLINE… There are just some tricks to figuring out how to do it online, in the same way there are some tricks to figuring out how to do it offline… It's just it's faster online, which is so exciting as we've gotten into that! Steve: It's funny because the way I think about the Internet… There are a few very easy plays (like little football plays) that I think about. "I'm gonna run that play, I'm gonna run that play." And I just know it just works because it adds value before you go follow up with asking them to actually join. What's one of your favorite methods for offline growth? Teresa: We actually have some scripts that we give people for different types of situations… So many people say too much, or say it wrong… The nice thing about online is you write it in the funnel, then it's there and you don't mess up. The hard part about offline is you need to LEARN how to say things… Ultimately it’s about: Asking them questions Finding out what it is that they need In the online space, we try to touch those emotions that make them feel like we are talking to them… That's the exact same thing we're doing OFFLINE where we're finding out WHAT their needs are. That's ONE thing that we do… OFFLINE RECRUITING TECHNIQUES The second thing we do is, any time I meet someone… I am not trying to bring up my MLM. I am trying to get to know them, making new friends… It's fun for me! I make new friends! I travel a lot internationally and I make new friends. When we're talking, two things ALWAYS come up… Your business or what you do for work Health If I saw a movie that I wanted to tell you about… I'm not gonna make any money off that movie. But if it was so awesome, I'm going to want to tell you about it. "Steve, oh, my God, have you seen that movie? It's awesome, you have to go and see that movie." I would do it the same way whether or not I'm gonna make money off of that. If it's really something that I feel that way about and I could help people with, then that's how we approach it. Steve: That makes total sense, it is very natural with that approach. That's very cool. One of the reasons why I started doing MLM on the Internet is because I was so afraid to talk face-to-face with people. In that four and a half million you must have someone who's fearful of talking face-to-face? So I was like, "Well, I'm kind of a nerd. I'll go create a system, but that's really nerdy and most don't go do that." For all the people who are like, "Alright, Teresa, how do I go do it? I've got Steven's stuff but I still wanna talk face-to-face." What do you say to those people who are just super scared of talking face-to-face, how do you get over that fear? OFFLINE RECRUITING = FACE-TO-FACE Teresa: There's at least ONE person in four million… Probably every single one has been there… Even when I was super confident and had been presenting in front of tens of thousands of people… I would still get in front of someone on the airplane and all of a sudden something would happen and I would wanna be careful not to make it awkward. Steve: Yeah, just clam up in the air… Teresa: That's ALWAYS a thing… We: Teach people Do role Have a script that is super simple and not awkward, that anybody can use … You could totally use it for your company. It says HOW to offer the sample (or whatever you're gonna do) and it's so powerful. IT WORKS. Our numbers increase significantly when we use this script. It tells you what to say to them if they had a: BAD experience GOOD experience We have spent so many marketing dollars on figuring out HOW soon should you respond to someone. For example, with your email sequence, you know EXACTLY what days you're sending those out. Steve: Boom, BOOM, BOOM! Teresa: It's the EXACT same thing! You give them the sample, and three days is waaay too long. If you do it the next day, they feel like you're hounding them. They're like, "Why won't you leave me alone now?" FOLLOWING UP WITH PEOPLE IN NETWORK MARKETING TWO DAYS is perfect, and you warn them ahead of time. For example, I always tell them I’m going to contact them, tell them why, and tell them how. That sounds like it can be so dramatic, but listen to this, it's super simple… So if I said, "Hey, Steve, you've got this thing, okay? Try it like this and I'll give you a call in a couple of days to see how it's going." Steve: So it's seeded… I don't feel pressure. Teresa: Now when I do call you, you're not going. "Why is she calling me again?" You're going, "She is taking such awesome care of me. I can't believe she's taking the time to do this with me." Just little things like that. I've seen your trainings on sales pages and the wording that you do. It's exactly the same thing, it really is. Steve: That's so cool! Yeah, many people have asked how do they do offline. It's the same... I'm not going to build a funnel, I'm just gonna do it my way. That IS a funnel. It doesn't matter whether it's online or offline. Funnels existed when the first caveman traded a rock for a piece of whatever. Teresa: That's why I was so excited when I found your stuff. You took the real way to do network marketing that is truly helpful, not pressure… And you put it online. You didn't change it and mess up the system. THE BEAUTY OF ONLINE RECRUITING The beauty of online is you can do it faster and reach more people. If you can spend ad dollars, that's even better. I have made more stupid mistakes than anybody network marketing… I am quite sure. So I know my stuff inside and out. I was learning the online stuff and digging even deeper, and going, “How fun to connect the two, how fun to put it together and go, wow, this is honestly moving into the 21st century!” Steve: It's taken FOREVER! We’VE got a lot of up-lines that are AFRAID of it… When did you start reaching out for assistance and help and growth? Were you consuming books and CDs and courses? What kind of training did you consume at the beginning? Teresa: When we first started, I'd never done this before… I didn't have any connections in the industry and I had not had any success myself because I was BRAND NEW… So I went to the owners of our company (who are pretty renowned) they're amazing in the industry. But they're not used to doing what we do... But they were EXTREMELY helpful. I learned as much as I could and I basically went to them and said, "Okay, you tell me who's making the most in network marketing and you tell me what they're doing, and then I will try to mimic that." NETWORK MARKETING BOOKS Then started reading tons of business books, tons of network marketing books… I can't even share my gratitude enough for the people who come before who spent their lifetime learning all these things so that I can learn in a book what it took them years and years to learn. There's always great information… But I'm pretty opinionated about that whole pushy network marketing attitude. And there are some books out there that are very much that way. You will NEVER hear me advocating that. I absolutely don't think it's necessary. Obviously, it's not. I believe that that's ONE of the reasons our team is so massive… Because it doesn't feel that way. I devour books and I read like crazy. I was on Goodreads, and they had this reading challenge last year where they said, "How many books do you wanna read?" We were living in China and I thought, “This is a busy year, so I probably better just say one book a month, even though I know I read a lot.” By the end of the year, I had read 40 books. Steve: What happened to your team growth when you started consuming all that training? Teresa: Oh, my goodness! What happens is, your team grows exponentially! OFFLINE RECRUITING TO ONLINE RECRUITING Not just in relation to how much you're learning, because you know what it's like… The more you grow your business, the more you have to face things about yourself that you didn't necessarily wanna face. Steve: And it sucks. Teresa: It's weird… It's like you hit these lids that you don't realize you're hitting until you up-level your skill in that area… You become a better leader, you learn something more that allows you to lead better, grow bigger, and progress more. Steve: I think of it like those rock tumblers that we used to have growing up… Did you ever have those? You put all those rocks in and it’s super loud, really annoying… Then you pull it out and you're like, “Oh, that was awesome.” The nastier the rock, the more beautiful at the end. Teresa: Smooth and gorgeous and a color that you didn't even know. Steve: So you started building and building and building offline (obviously) and then… And then did you start taking that offline-to-online growth? Teresa: It's never perfect… You always have things to learn but we knew how to do that offline building, no problem. I started trying to do live seminars about six or seven years ago because I thought, “We know how to do this, we are good at this.” If we can get MORE people in the room, we go BIGGER, we can go FASTER. It worked and we were starting to figure it out… I actually partnered with some people who had run massive events for people like Zig Ziglar… But it takes A LOT of capital and you're flying the whole team out to the area, going to Colorado and all of a sudden, it hit me… FIGURING OUT ONLINE NETWORK MARKETING You think I'd have figured this out sooner, but I was like, “Duh, if we're gonna do this, why do it live? Why not do it online?" That's when I started going, "Dude, we figured this out online and then, of course, we can go do live events and people will come," It has been so fun and so expensive until I found you guys. We had gotten the cost per acquisition down pretty low… Lower than anyone I know aside from the people that you train. AND THEN, I found your stuff and it was so exciting. And in fact, we brought a little gift for you. Steve: Oh, yeah? Teresa: Can I share this little surprise? Steve: Absolutely. Teresa: We made this for you. Steve: Oh, yeah? Teresa: I just have to tell you that my office team, my employees have been really excited about this and they've been sharing this all over the office over and over again. We have a segment… I won't share the whole thing here because it's too long. The one that we're going to give you is four minutes long, but this one is just 15 seconds… Steve: I'm so excited! NETWORK MARKETING MAGNET Teresa: That's part of what draws people to you and to what makes you a magnet. We have a four-minute segment that is just super-fun and I'll just tell you… We didn't have time. We're gonna give you this and you can use it for however you see fit. It might just be fun to have as a sound on your phone. I'm gonna turn that into my ringtone for you. Steve: Oh, it sounds good. That's awesome! I was speaking at an event once and there's a Q&A section at the end… This lady stood up and she said, "I know you're thinking about apps. Will you ever make an app for all the sound effects you make?" And I was like, "I think I'm flattered." Teresa: That was awesome! Steve: It's so funny 'cause I never realized I was doing it! Teresa: It's what makes it engaging because you're so fun. You're so YOU and you just draw people in! Steve: That means a lot. I'm very excited about it. Teresa: It's really fun. I hope you like and I hope you take it as a compliment. Steve: It's a huge compliment, totally. I will take that and blast it EVERYWHERE! Thank you SO MUCH for being on the show and thanks for walking through this. OFFLINE RECRUITING ADVICE Could you just give ONE MORE piece of advice for somebody who is just starting out and they're seeing this road and they're like, "Oh, man, she's been doing this for 11 years." Teresa: I would absolutely look to the masters WHO knows what they're doing and do what they do. Steve's trainings are phenomenal, that MLM Hacks… Oh my goodness! The thing I love about your training is people can do this very low level. You DON’T have to be techy and you DON’T have to be a coder. You have trainings that allow you to go slow, but then, you take people up the ladder to go into something that is bigger. The people who wanna go deeper, like me… It allows us to geek out over that stuff and you guide us through the process to make sure that we do it right. NETWORK MARKETING FRONT LINE I've done this for 11 years, and I have people who wanna be on my front line… I say, "Okay. So, if you're serious about this, I gotta know," and we go through the requirements. The requirements are basically... You do it the way that I teach until you hit *THIS* rank Once you're that rank, you do whatever you want because I've seen it, I've done it, I know what works I love the Secret MLM Hacks because you take people through the process without them having to go figure it all out for 10 years by themselves. You've been doing this for a long time, you truly are the guru. You deserve kudos for that, because you are helping people all across the industry and I know that this is starting a wave that is changing the MLM industry. In answer to your question, I would say If you only wanna build online, build online. If you only wanna build offline, build offline. But if you wanna do both, I would recommend that you build the way you want, but make sure you incorporate the best pieces of BOTH of those sides so that you can reach ANYBODY. NETWORK MARKETING GAME CHANGER You're gonna come across people who simply say, "I wanna be on your team." Steve: Yeah, a lot. Teresa: You don't build offline because you build online… But you end up having to handle it offline and you're just good at it. This might sound weird but… One of my tricks is to belittle the goal so that it's not so massive in my mind that I'm like, "There's no way I can go pull that off." If I try to consume and understand and plan for all of it at the same time, there's no way! You get stressed out. At the beginning, when I first started this, there were no podcasts. No one was talking about this angle of it and it's cool to see how 180 degrees that is now. I have bought your packages, I know your stuff and I'll just tell you… It changes the game. Steve: That's awesome, thank you so much. Thanks for being on here! Where can people find you? Besides MLM Game Changers ←- Everyone go look at the podcast. Teresa: The podcast, MLM Game Changers and we also have teresahardingmasterclass.com. We have pre-registration there for a FREE Master Class that we do, teaching people how to combine the online with the offline. I give shout-outs to Steve all the time. There are certain people online that are THE BEST OF THE BEST. Steve is one of them. Steve: Thanks so much! Teresa: Thank you for having me on. Steve: Thanks for being on the show! Everyone go check out and follow Teresa Harding. She's amazing! She's the Queen of the offline bill. TO RECRUIT ONLINE OR TO RECRUIT OFFLINE… To recruit online or to recruit offline… That is the question. By now if you listen to the show at all, you know I focus heavily on methods to recruit online in largely automated ways. But what if you don't know what to do with speaking to somebody face-to-face who's actually interested? What do you do? What do you say? How do you keep the conversation moving? When should you follow-up and how often? Who should you pursue and who should you move on from? Frankly, and totally honest, I'm good at all that online stuff. But if you're like me, you might be a little bit of an introvert in the real world. Whilst sales and marketing online is still sales and marketing offline, the mechanics are a little bit different. I'll be an expert in what I am loudly, but I can't pretend to know all of these offline methods because I don't. Who better to introduce you to, than the Queen of offline recruiting herself, Teresa Harding. Teresa literally has MILLIONS of people in her downline as you listened to this. She's an offline recruiting EXPERT. However, several months ago, she ran into my programs online and said exactly what you heard in my interview with her. "Steve, you did what we've been trying to do for 10 years." If you wanna check out the same programs Teresa Harding has, go to listentoteresa.com and watch the free web class now. Kind of like salt and pepper, Teresa and I are excited to finally collaborate a little to show you your individual strengths. She'll teach you OFFLINE recruiting, I'll teach you ONLINE recruiting. If you're ready to learn more of what Teresa did from my programs just type in, listentoteresa.com.

Where are you learning but not DOING? Where are you stuck in learning mode, paralised in inaction by the ‘I don’t know enough yet’ gremlin? If you know that’s you, don’t panic. I can identify with this one BIG time, as a constant collector of qualifications who’s obsessed with learning more and more and more. I have spent a small fortune on my education and continue to do so. I would say I spend the majority of my time learning. I LOVE it. I’d go as far as to say i’m a little obsessed with it. However, I realised a few years ago that I was completely stuck in constant learning mode, and not implementing much of ANYTHING, just carrying it around in my noggin. So I went on my own little ‘journey of self discovery’ to work out why, what was behind it, what was REALLY stopping me taking action, in favour of learning even more...and how can identify it next time to make sure I don’t stay stuck in it. My ‘learning’ story Most of our ‘programming’ happens before were even 7 years old so it can be helpful to take a look back and see if anything happened of any significance at that time that could explain or cause certain belief systems that we then carry with us into adulthood. Because, when you have a belief, why would you challenge it? It’s fact right? So, when I was young I always believed that I was the ‘stupid’ one out of my brother and I. He’s 3 years older than me. Oh I had the street smarts and common sense for sure, I was the creative one. But he’s a through and through academic, and I thought this was ‘better’ because that’s what the school system teaches us right? His capacity for learning is second to none. I’ve lost count of the amount of languages he can speak, and complicated things he can pick up in the blink of an eye. I was different. I was pretty jealous too I guess. Everything seemed to come so easily for him on that front. He’s 3 years older and I always felt inferior and felt that I struggled with the academic stuff. Which actually wasn’t true (we found my old school reports to prove it ha!), it was just a story I told myself repeatedly that became true for me. I continued to tell myself this even in the face of good exam results. He was a straight A, A* student and I was more of a solid B. A if I applied myself and C when I just wasn’t interested in the subject. This story of not being clever, and not being ‘good’ at learning followed me through life. I would stick to ‘my’ subjects and not go anywhere near the ‘clever’ subjects. I wouldn’t put myself in a position where I had to. I wouldn’t go on the holidays with friends that would require me to learn anything, even if it would be fun! Think PADI diving and skiing. I just wouldn’t do it because this unconscious story I held on to was SO strong. I HATED exams. I still do to this day (why I keep putting myself in the situation to take them I don’t know ha!) the mere mention of the word and my anxiety comes up along with mr procrastinator gremlin, and when it’s self study I can take a really long time to complete qualifications despite having completed all the material. It’s a pattern I recognise in myself now. If a qualification doesn’t have a bit of a time limit on achieving it then I’ll keep putting it off so I need to make sure my goals are rock solid to make sure I actually do it. I told myself I didn’t ‘like’ learning (I mean...WTF?!) and I wasn’t ‘good’ at it. Can you see how all this held me back? Now, I like to be good at everything so often I used to shy away from things I didn’t think i’d be very good at. Now, however, those are often the things I chuck myself at because I KNOW I can learn them if I choose to. The next thing that happened once I identified this pattern, and challenged it for the absolute lie it was, is that learning became my favourite thing to do. For my birthday this year I attended 2 3 day back to back seminars….for fun! I’m like a sponge in the subjects i’m interested in. So that’s all cool and you can see how important it is to identify these beliefs and patterns and how easy it is for them to keep you completely and utterly stuck. But the difficulty comes when you love learning something, BUT you can very easily get stuck in the mode of ‘I don’t know enough’ when it comes to your business and you keep consuming and consuming knowledge as if it’s a GOOD thing. And on the one hand it is! On the other hand, if you constantly feel you don’t know ‘enough’ you’re never going to take ACTION and actually IMPLEMENT what you learn! You get stuck in consumption mode, and I really need to watch myself because this is a big thing for me too. And what happens then? You’re still stuck!! The REAL knowledge COMES from implementing. What can you do to actually implement what you learn right now? Where can you identify right now that you might be doing this? What’s the underlying fear or belief that is keeping you from taking the action now? Where could you be if you did? When you recognise current behaviour and identify the unconscious patterns and beliefs you can challenge them, change them, catch yourself in the habit and choose to change it. Identify that fear and challenge it, identify the belief and challenge it, then take the action! If you know that now is the time to start changing things for yourself and want to explore this further, have any questions or want some accountability to make sure you’re doing the things you need to then please book in a free discovery call so we can see what needs to happen to get you from where you’re at right now, to the successful business owner you know you can be!! I'm going to throw rocks here a little bit. Ermmm, ‘NO,’ actually it's going to be mountains, boulders and things that are VERY heavy… I'm vehemently against this idea that we need to take on funding in order to start a company. The J Curve is what's taught in most of our education and mainstream entrepreneurship today. Case in point, the J Curve is the very model that Shark Tank operates under. And while I love the show, I’m vehemently against the concept of the J Curve... In fact… It’s time to kill the J Curve. If you don’t know what the J Curve is, all will become clear… but first, let me tell you a story of about how to make a million bucks… THROWING A J CURVE… I was working with Russell on a project for one of his personal clients… For every dollar we put in an Ads, they were getting $1.30 back out. For every dollar they were putting in an Ad, they were getting $1.30 back out. However, one day they called, us a bit ticked off, and said, "We're barely breaking even on this?" I was like, "You're NOT breaking even. You're actually making 30 cents for every customer that comes in." They weren’t happy with that answer, and they said, "Exactly, we're not going to make a ton of money on that." We were like, "You guys are missing the entire point here. You now have a machine where you're acquiring customers for free." We’d created a bottom of the value ladder offer that was expanding their current customer base. They already had their middle of the value ladder product and they had an expensive club as well… But what they needed was MORE blood in their value ladder to bring people in and ascend them to their more high-end offers. We were putting a $1 in and they were getting $1.30 back out… but they were mad about that. We asked, “What are you mad about? This is a success." They were like, "It's NOT a success." We were like, "Yeah, that's a HUGE screaming success." BREAK-EVEN WINS … we said, "Let's think about this for a moment…” “You have a machine that’s giving you customers for FREE and you’re even gaining 30 cents …” We told them: “Anything you sell to those customers afterward is pure profit!” Break-even is a million dollar scenario. … AND now, these customers are also MORE likely to purchase anything you tell them to buy. Still, they weren’t convinced… they were like, "What are you talking about?" Here’s a FACT: Second money is ALWAYS easier than first money. A percentage of your list will ALWAYS purchase simply because they like you and they’ve had a good experience previously We're not just tweaking: Your offer The way you position your messaging But what's so incredible about the way this works is this... STARTING A BUSINESS THE WRONG WAY? In college, I was taught that the first things you do when starting a business are: Write a business plan Gather the who’s who and get people on your team Think more about your idea and do some market research Competitive and SWOT Analysis Look into the probability of success and do lots of analytics. Probably my least favorite class was Quantitative Marketing research. I HATED that class… And that’s literally where the phrase ‘J Curve’ comes from... When you start your business, since there's no revenue yet, you are expected to go into debt in order to fund the business, the people, and the systems. There are a series of systems in business... For example: There's a system for: Support Fulfillment Helping people actually have success. All that stuff costs money. At first, when I started my business, it was just me... but that's NOT the way I was taught in college. SAY ‘HELLO’ TO THE J CURVE In college, I was taught to get a loan and go into debt. #EyeRoll I would expect to be in debt until a magic moment three to five years away when I finally become cash flow positive. Meaning, I'm not losing money faster than I'm making it. I’m NOT breaking even; I'm just finally going in a straight line. I'm NOT making any money, but I'm NOT losing anymore. Then you keep tweaking and tweaking until you reach the mark where... *hopefully*... you’ve made more money than you took on to fund the business. And *this* is literally what I was taught in college… When the curve moves upwards enough, then you're profitable. The moment the curve starts to get to a certain zone (see below) you can take profit - which is great. You make a lot of cash... But as soon as you start increasing at a decreasing rate, meaning the curve starts going level, you're taught to sell. You go into the stock market with an IPO, and you sell off your company and you no longer own your baby. That SUCKS! You work your face off, but then most of your decisions will be made by a board… You gave away your business with golden handcuffs when you got a loan. That's why Shark Tank irks me. But you can skip this entire model with what I’m showing you here. KILL THE J CURVE Let’s go back to the ClickFunnels and the people who weren’t happy with $1 in and $1.30 back out … Here’s the CRAZY part... $1 in and $1.30 back out means that you're skipping the J-Curve. It means that from the get-go, you're going up. Is it fast? “No, but you're not losing money,” and remember, we already know that second money is ALWAYS easier than first money. A percentage of people will ALWAYS buy your upsell That's why this is such a big deal - that's why we freak out so much about doing this stuff. https://media.giphy.com/media/8B9hGl5neRTNK/giphy.gif Then when you understand more about how to create the offer and the order to build in, it means you don't have to do that VC garbage. That's why it's so awesome. You kill the J Curve and go straight to profitability. Even if things are level for a while and you're not making any money: You're not losing money You own your entire business You're actually making your own decisions. Merry Christmas! ;-) So then you start making HUGE profit... and you can sell if you want, but you don't have to - you can have cash cows like a lot of my offers are now. Tell me any other investments on this entire planet where I can put a dollar in and get a 30% return in a week? People boast when they get a 10% return on a mutual fund. Seriously, think about it! Do you know how much money you already have to have in order to actually make a living off of something like that? In my mind, there's no other logical way to invest in your future than doing a funnel and creating an offer the right way. I don't know another way. LET’S TALK MONEY … when that Facebook apocalypse thing happened a while back, it kinda jacked up our stats a bit, but before that, we had two months where we were putting $1 in and getting $8 - $10 out. It's not as high anymore, but it's still like a $1 in and $5 out … That’s a weekly return of 500%. You don't take profit, if you just keep putting a dollar in, and getting a dollar back out... Congratulations, break even is a million dollar scenario. The asset is the list; so when you can build a list of buyers for FREE - BOOM! Most corporate companies can't even begin to comprehend what I'm teaching you right now. They don't get it. They're so indoctrinated in the traditional stuff that when we show them other options they're like, "I don't think that's going to work?" And we make it happen and they're like, "Oh, snap. HUH!” TURNING DOWN 100 MILLION! At one time, there were a lot of companies trying to give ClickFunnels $100 million, and we kept saying, No. They were like, "Why? We'll give you $100 million with the BEST rates you’ve ever seen." I got to sit in the room where a lot of these conversations were going on. I’d hear Russell and the VC guys talking, and I'd be listening… https://media.giphy.com/media/Ll1rEkDebTIdO/giphy.gif They’d be offering all this money, and Russell's like, "We don't need it," which blew their minds. Russell would go to lunch just to kind of humor them, and because it would make a cool story... which it did ;-) The VC guys would say, "Come on, $100 million. How much money does it cost you right now to acquire a ClickFunnels person?" (And these are stats from a long time ago, so I'm sure the changed a little bit.) But at the time, as I recall, it was costing ClickFunnels about $120 to generate one trial. Now for the SaaS software world, $120 in ads to generate on average, one trial, that's actually very, very good. So when Russell said that, they're like, "Oh my gosh, are you serious? $120 to generate one trial? That's awesome. Here, let's give you $100 million, and then you can just go and get a butt load of trials and lots of customers." Russell was like, "No, no. We turned those ads off." And they were like, "Why would you do that?" He's like, "Well, because that’s coming out of our own pockets. $120, that's URRGH." (What I'm teaching you now is the reason to come to OfferMind…) HACKING THE VALUE LADDER So if ClickFunnels is in the middle of the value ladder, ( and I'm using ClickFunnels as an example because we all know them), we’d create acquisition-styled funnels… For example: Trip Wires Book Funnels VSLs Invisible Funnels Summits 7-Day Launches Small eCommerce stuff shipped out... … things that generate a buyer very cheaply. I know these numbers aren't accurate anymore, but the principle is still the same… It was costing ClickFunnels $22 to generate one Expert Secrets buyer, but the average cart value, (because of upsells, the way funnels work and because we're dang good at creating offers), was $66. And so, think about this… Now that we've generated a buyer for free, (put in a dollar and get three out), 22 bucks to generate a buyer with a $66 cart value. Divide them out, a dollar in, three dollars back out - that's awesome. I don't know another vehicle that makes that kind of cash… And frankly, I don't know another vehicle where you can be really, really bad at it and still make a lot of cash. Things like the stock market, (I'm not trying to throw rocks), but the majority of the time, you gotta have freakin’ ninja skills to make a lot of money - hopefully... (with flash in the pan kind of strategy to tactics). You can be bad at this and make a lot of cash. I definitely was! One of the first funnels I put out ended up making MORE money than I was making in my job. I was like, "Dang. That's awesome. I really can be bad at this and still make a great living." WHO ALWAYS WINS? I'm not just approaching value ladder design from the aspect of, “Oh, this is the good order to go in…” You're playing with the reality that those who can pay the MOST to acquire customer always win, even if they have a worse product. Let me explain… If I can spend $66 to acquire a book buyer and the book is only seven bucks, I'm going to dominate those who are on Amazon who have a locked average cart value that only enables you to buy one book with no upsells and OTOs... That's why this works. That's why what we do is so killer. So if I generate a buyer for free or breakeven, (if I'm making money, all the better)...I will never dare take profit at this level. Instead, I create sequences that invite them to ascend to the next step, and then... it's pure profit. The reason why we make the money we do and we don't have lots of overheads is because we're actually marketers. So Russell was with the venture capitalists who were trying to give ClickFunnels $100 million telling them that he’d turned off adds, that in their eyes, were very profitable The VC guys asked, "Why would you do that?" Russell (very clichely) explain by drawing on a napkin, ... He said, "We turned those ads off and now we actually MAKE $40 per ClickFunnels trial now." The VC guys said, "That's impossible. How are you doing that? That makes absolutely zero sense to me." Russell said, “No no. It totally does." REWRITING BUSINESS So let’s look at it the Expert Secret book funnel numbers … Average cart value in that funnel is $66 Cost to acquire was $22. (I think the cost to acquire is lower now, and the average cart value is higher - but anyways, those are some of the stats I remember.) So they're making $40 per ClickFunnels trial - because, at the end of the book funnel, they say, “Go get a free ClickFunnels' trial,” and then people do - it works. Do you understand how mind-bending this is? This changes the entire business model - that's why I'm like so fierce with some of this stuff - we’ve gotta push it out there more. Then they create all sorts of front ends - that's why he launched the Network Marketing Secrets book. And afterward, Russell promotes ascends them on the value ladder for FREE. He already owns the list. He doesn't need to pay to acquire the customer again, and so, he just invites them to take the next step... *Pure Profit* By approaching business in this way, you can Completely negate the need for VC funding Completely negate the need to give up ownership of your company Completely negate having to make decisions that you wouldn't want to make with your baby. That's why it's such a big deal. I started in the middle of the value ladder so that I can have MORE money to acquire a customer than my competitors. If I sell my book on Amazon for $20... but dang it, Russell's generating $66 per book purchaser (average cart value)... Man, he's going to wreck me. Do you see what I'm saying? If I can spend 60 bucks in Ads (especially on a book) before I start losing money… *GAME OVER* Again, you can be bad, but if you're breaking even, you still can upsell your most expensive things - that’s straight up monetization. For example... There are several people every month who are like, "Hey, I really just want to get an OfferLab. That's the kind of hand-holding I need." Or ... “I don't want to have to go read the book and go through all the stuff, Stephen. Just give me the result." READY, FIRE, AIM One of my favorite books is Ready, Fire, Aim - you can see I have it all tabbed out and stuff... The methods that I’ve shared are something that I've been teaching and doing for a while, but then, this book validated the crap out them. Now if you've never read this book, and you don't know anything about it: The first third goes from zero to 1 million - so I studied that a lot when that was the phase I was in. The next phase of the book is 1 million to 10 million The next phase (I think) is 10 million to 100 million. I spend most of my time with new people and people who are $1,000,000 to $10,000,000 in revenue - that's where most of my expertise lies for our business; new all the way up to about 10 million. After $10,000,000, I don't deal with people too much. Anyway, in the book, Masterson says… (This is on page 118) “Although your primary focus should always be on customer service, your quantifiable goal as a beginning entrepreneur should be to acquire as fast as possible, what we call a critical mass of qualified buyers/ customers. This is the number of loyal customers you need in order to make all or most of your subsequent selling transactions profitable." This is key. Masterson continues: “Your goal as a stage one entrepreneurship should be to acquire as many customers as you can to make all of your subsequent selling transactions profitable...” It's literally the exact same thing I've been talking about here He says: "And if you made your primary objective and satisfaction in selling more products to existing customers who enjoyed their prior buying experiences with you, it will be relatively easy as well as cheaper, therefore more profitable. Once you have a good number of qualified customers… (i.e., the middle of value ladder)... Hundreds or thousands, or hundreds of thousands depending on your industry, you'll be in a really good position where almost every new product you come up with will be successful because so many of your existing customers will buy it.” Break-even is a million dollar scenario. *I’m gonna keep pounding that point in* So I go in and test out my entire idea in the middle of the value ladder price point because it makes MORE sense for: Average cart value Cost to acquire Ad costs are very real today. I have flex room and I'm able to go and actually test stuff. SECOND MONEY IS EASIER Once you have a lot of customers, you just focus on that core offer for a while. Then once you've got a lot of people, anything you drop afterward is highly likely to succeed. As long as they enjoyed their first buying experience, it's highly likely that you're going to be successful. I read this and thought, "Oh my gosh." I was on an airplane and I was like, "This is exactly what I've been talking about." Anyway, check this out… Masterson continues: "Understand the dynamics of generating long term profits through the development of large circulation, low-cost products sold at a loss…” (* NOTE ...but you don't need to do this because you can break-even) “...by upselling high-end products to this larger base." Basically, the whole point of this entire thing is that, once you now have an existing customer base and you sell something more expensive, that's where you're going to cash flow hard. A lot of profits. I start at the value ladder and then move to the top, but once that’s working, and I want things to be MORE profitable; how do I do that? I create a mechanism, (I mean, funnel/offer), at the bottom of the value ladder to acquire more customers at a break-even level - which makes subsequent selling transactions really profitable. If 10 people out of 100 bought my middle tier product, maybe half a person out of 100 would buy my top tier... But then, I just fill the hopper up. Q: What's introducing a lot of these things to the marketplace? A: The fact that I podcast. Dang, it! I just let that out ;-) I'm creating a relationship I'm telling a lot of stories I'm breaking false beliefs that I know the audience is having as they start to say things that I know are not real. I create a story around my episode - at the end of each episode, pay close attention to whatever it is that I'm promoting in the outros. The outros often introduce a new thing inside of the value ladder or reminds people that my product’s still there. So I'm creating the relationship and leading with a butt ton of value. I give so much away on my podcast - it's ridiculous. #GetRichDoGood Hey, I know this game can take a few tries to get the money flowing, especially the first time, right? And that can suck. I also know from experience how frustrating it can be to know your business is just a few tweaks away from your next big payday, but you don't know what tweaks to make. I've felt completely paralyzed by that in the past, and it sucks. I've been blessed to work with thousands of new and successful businesses over the last three years, and two things have really shocked me. #1: I began noticing the pattern to success is vastly the same, but everyone's spot on the path is obviously different. #2: I've been shocked and overwhelmed by the number of people asking for my help, my systems, and funnels in their business. Well, until now I've never had a system or product in my own business to help you build yours. Now, I'm finally able to be public about all this... If you'd like my help to build your offer or sales message funnel and even your content machine, go to myofferlab.com. The path to online and offline success is 80 percent the same regardless of the product, price point or industry, and it works if you're new or already a killer in business. In this episode, I continue the story about how I was trying to work as a private voice teacher and my husband's response to me throwing up my hands in desperation. I get a little vulnerable with you as I talk about how we struggled with our finances and had some major bumps in the road that threatened to take us down. I also talk about my husband's online trading and how it took a turn for the worse and once again knocked us on our knees, struggling to get back up. Throughout this episode, I talk candidly about going back to work as a temp for a major tech company, and how that mundane entry level job that I HATED actually turned out to be the biggest blessing I could have ever asked for. I HATED my first beer. I was 12 years old, and I was on vacation with my family. My parents were having a beer and I was a curious little child. So….I asked my father for a sip. And he’s a very wise man, he understood that if he said no to me I’d only want it more, so….he gave me a sip. I’ll be honest, it tasted like bottled piss. On this episode of Vishnu Ki Secret Life, I’m going to walk you through some common mistakes you might make while you’re drinking and how YOU can avoid them. Chelsies' StoryIf someone had told me when I was a child that I was going to be dancing and performing on two national TV shows in my late teens to early twenties, I would have thrown up in my mouth. Not only was I shy to the point that I wouldn't make eye contact with anyone I didn't know, but I HATED dance class with a passion.I was born in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 21, 1989. I grew up in a strong Christian home with 5 rambunctious, spirited older brothers who didn't mind practicing there football skills on me, and routinely tackled me in a passing in the hallway. When I was 6 years old, my family moved to Orem, Utah. Looking back, it's safe to say there was never a dull moment in the Hightower household and I am extremely grateful for my childhood. If I had to describe it in 3 words, laughter, love, and chaos would best summarize our times together. When I was 9, my family moved to a new neighborhood in Utah, which also meant I had to attend a new school. Coincidentally, this school offered the only elementary after-school ballroom program in America. That is how I was first introduced to ballroom dancing. At first, I was the worst one in class. I was the last to pick up the steps and had to stay after class so the teacher could help me learn the steps. Soon after I got past that first initial awkward learning phase and being cut in the very first round of my first competition, I discovered my talent. I went from getting cut in the first round to taking first place in almost every competition in which me and my partner had entered, in a fairly short amount of time. When I was 11, I won my first national title. Soon after, I was re-introduced to jazz, ballet, and hip-hop, in which the three styles became MY ENTIRETY. I auditioned on a whim. A friend had called and said she was auditioning and I thought, “Might as well try it out.” I made the highest team for my age category with merely no experience. It wasn't long before I completely fell in love with the whole experience and it became my life. All I wanted was to be great. I ate, slept, and breathed dancing. Within a short time, I was earning scholarships from various dance competitions and conventions, which, to us, were as big of a deal as it got.2 years later, fate stepped in and an opportunity to go back to ballroom came into my life: a great partner and sponsored training with some of the best coaches in the world. There was no question it was an amazing opportunity, but it also meant that i would have to leave my jazz studio entirely and was I willing to leave my best friends and a passion I couldn't imagine, at the time, living without? I was 14 and it was the hardest decision I would have made up to that point. To leave that studio, my passion for that style of dance, and all my best friends, and step back into the “ballroom” world, which is vastly different. But I felt strongly and knew ballroom was where I was supposed to be, so I took the leap of faith and that would be my life for the next two years. We traveled all around the world for competitions. My world became filled with fake tanning solution, the Russian language, and expensive dance dresses. My partner and I worked hard and quickly became one of the top 3 couples in the country, before eventually becoming the National Ten-dance champions. We earned the opportunity to be a part of Team USA in the biggest competition in the world, the British Open in Blackpool, England, and the opportunity to represent our country at the worlds. Well, all good things come to an end and my partner and I split after 2 years of competing.I was 16 by this point and soon after the split I started my teaching career. Coaching younger couples at first until eventually I was teaching couples who were much older then I was. I loved being on the other side; being able to teach what I knew about dance and even about life to students whom I took great care in. I helped in achieving national titles for some of these starlings and was rewarded to see the substantial growth in each. When I wasn't at the studio teaching I was actually able to have a social life, which was a little uncommon for me and be heavily involved in high school activities, dances and the likes. One of the best years of my life.I was 17 when I started dancing with my second partner and within a short 4 months we became international finalists. We had 3 crazy months of living, training, and teaching students in North Carolina. On weekends we'd fly up to NYC to train and compete. At the end of the summer we moved back to Utah and trained for another 3 months, until my partner decided to move back to North Carolina and I stayed in Utah to finish my senior year.3 months after that the famous “So You Think You Can Dance” auditions came to town.I was nervous when I auditioned but I felt peace, reflecting on the doors that were opened to me and where the pieces had fallen in my life, feeling this was something that was “meant to be.” I made it straight through to vegas that night and the top 20 was to come soon after. I made it to the top 6 on that show being one of the 2 contestants who had never been in the bottom 3. Those three months were some of the most magical moments of my life. To add to the magic, two of the duo's I had danced in, “Bleeding love” choreographed by Tabitha and Napoleon and “A los Amigos” choreographed by Dmitry Chaplin, were nominated for Emmy's several months later, which was a huge honor to be a part of.Sytycd tour was to follow. Thousands and thousands of screaming fans at our shows every night, seeing the country, and making life-long friendships with my fellow contestants, made up the next four months.I was on my way home from tour about to board the flight when I got the call from Dancing With the Stars to be on there next spring season. It didn't look likely since I was still contracted with Fox, but I put the call in anyway to see if they could make a miracle happen. Nigel was great and let me out of my contract. It was a whirl-wind when I first started and a bit over-whelming. None the less, I was ready and excited to take on the challenge.Which brings us to the present day. DWTS is truly a dancers dream job, and I am so grateful to be a part of it. I am constantly striving to improve and work on my art form as there is ALWAYS more to learn. My partners have included Ty Murray, Louie Vito, Jake Pavelka, Michael Bolton, Romeo Miller, Roshon Fegan, and Helio Castroneves all of whom I have had the opportunity of creating close bonds with and learn valuable life lessons from.Thinking over these more recent years there are so many memories and treasured moments that I will always hold close to my heart. When I was nominated for an Emmy Award for the paso doble “Maleguena” I had choreographed with fellow pro Derek. When my publicist called and told me I would have a two page spread in the iconic magazine Sports Illustrated “swimsuit edition” and then not long after the cover of the national magazine “Fitness.” When I had the opportunity to go oversees to visit the troops in which became a life altering experience. Being on the cover of DanceSpirit magazine. Which was an honor that was only a distant dream to me as a teenager. The opportunities to endorse products, most recently being the face of Reeboks' new dance line. And just simply getting to go on trips with some of my best friends to dance for crowds around the country and get paid for it. There are still many more things I want to achieve and experiences I want to have and ill keep striving for those until I reach them.It was through the long hours in the studio battling and fighting to make my mark, pushing through illnesses and motivated by my failures, that I found my passion, confidence, work ethic, and most of all the will to succeed. Therefore dance is not just a hobby, but it is a huge part of who I am.I realize that I have been blessed with much while at the same time, faced with many challenges. Challenges in which I cherish, for they have allowed me to grow and have kept me grounded and humble. Even through the successes I realize that with out God, I am nothing and with out the support of my mother and family through out the years, I wouldn't have been able to pursue this passion of mine. I always strive to remain true to who I am no matter the circumstance, and that determination to do so keeps me focused on the positive things in life, striving everyday to be an example of love, light, and passion to those around me.
Be picky about who you recruit. They're the foundation of your business... Today, I'm gonna teach you why you should not recruit everybody. This one concept has been very challenging for me to get across to a lot of new MLM-ers. They have the inclination to recruit anything that has a heartbeat. I totally get it because we start thinking, "If I just got three people, and then they each got three people, and then they all got three people, the next big question I have to answer is, what island will I buy?" There's two things I wanna show in this episode: Why you should not recruit anybody The things I make people go through when they're trying to join my downline Yes, trying to join my downline. WHO GETS TO JOIN MY DOWNLINE? Imagine MLM as a whole. The average person is recruiting two people. You better be recruiting some freaking rock stars! There's no way that you're gonna go grow an asset if you’re only using the methods that MLM is teaching you to go do. There's just not. Do you know what’s going to make your life easier? Get very focused on who you actually want. There are multiple kinds of people inside of any MLM. I want people who are already in MLM to join my downline. I'm not leaving MLM. I'm telling people who are already in it, easier and better ways to recruit. I'm NOT telling people who are NOT already in MLM to join my downline. People still doing 9 to 5 that haven't left it People who have never tried anything else Someone who’s a complainer The person who’s started a small business People who are freelancers I’m not trying to convince people. I’m not telling them to abandon what they’re doing. I’m not telling people to come and join my downline. I want you to understand what I'm doing, and why my team kills it. WHY I DON’T NEED TO RECRUIT ANYBODY There are 18.2 million people actively in MLM in the USA alone. Do you think all of them are happy? No. Do you think all of them are being successful? No. As with anything in life, some people make it and some people don’t. Do you want to know the reason I recruit so much? I am not reaching out to those who are not already in MLM. I'm reaching to those are already in MLM. I'm talking to people inside downlines. THERE ARE 18.2 MILLION OF THEM! EXAMPLE: This guy right here. He freaking hates what he’s doing. He knows that MLM is a good opportunity. He hates his MLM’s tactics. He hates that he can't get more people inside of his opportunity. He's seeing it sail without him in it. The ship is move, and he's not on board. He's trying so hard to get on board but no one is helping him. That's who I sell. I sell the people inside of existing MLMs. I don't have to deal with stupid questions like, "Is it a pyramid scheme?" I don't just recruit anybody that has a heartbeat. I don't let anybody in just because they want to. I actually people through an application process. A real application. Right off the bat, I kill at least half the applications. This year I’ve had 700 people asking to join my downline. This is a business. I am not running it as a hobby. It is a business. They're going through an interview. If they want the assets that I have for them: Prebuilt systems My connections My Rolodex I'm gonna make it hard. DON’T JUST RECRUIT ANYBODY Just because they have the money… Just because they are able… Doesn't mean they're willing. Just because they have the money doesn't mean that they are willing to go do what it takes. The way that you bring people into your downline is so important. It determines how successful they'll be after they join you. Imagine if anybody could join and get inside any country they want willy-nilly. Passport or not. That would cause massive issue. Treat yourself like a country. I’M AN ISLAND, BABY! You can't get on my island unless you have the right credentials. I take a lot of people who are brand new. What I'm looking for is beliefs and mentalities. Their willingness to run forward. I’ve got a quote on my wall that says, "Is this friend a growth friend or a maintenance friend?" Is this person a growth friend or a maintenance friend? MLM is a business, NOT A HOBBY! I do not take on a maintenance recruit. I only take on growth recruits. Not everyone inside an MLM is created equal. Not everyone has the same goals. Not everyone has the same time. Not everyone has the same backgrounds or skill sets. IF MY MLM TOLD ME TO RECRUIT ANYBODY… I flip the table on the script. I do exactly the opposite of what my MLM tells me to do. "Go talk to everybody!" No. "Go do phone meetings!" Absolutely not. The last time I did any of that was in my first MLM. I HATED it and thought to myself, "I'm never doing this again. I'm gonna find another way to do this." And I did. Not everyone has the same ambition or audacity. If I let people join my downline really easily, they leave really easily. If I let people in, and there's no expectation, they’re not going to do anything. I set precedents with the way I let people join my downline. Their attitudes have everything to do with the way I let them in my downline. I don't make it easy to join my downline. I've had people complain about it, "Dude, I'm just trying to freaking join you." I'm like, "Yeah, I know. But I'm trying to see if you're a good fit for me." And they'd be like, "What are you talking about?" I've had people get mad about it. I have a recruiting funnel that automates the whole process. They even sign an NDA. No joke. I'm about to give them a whole bunch of industry secrets. All the stuff that makes my processed work. They sign an NDA on the way in. You can actually check it out if you want to at joinmydownline.com. Joinmydownline.com. The largest oversight in all of the MLM industry. Why on earth was that domain available? I have no idea. joinmydownline.com was available. What? We only recently added in an NDA. We were looking for ways to make it even more intense. We want serious applicants. I'm not pitching you, okay. I just want you to take the same thing and put it in your downline. This is some of the stuff I teach inside of Secret MLM Hacks. I've got this recruiting funnel. People go through a series of steps when they want to apply: They're gonna fill out and sign the NDA They're gonna fill out the actual application on this step They're gonna watch a presentation from our team right here They're gonna download all the assets they need to start blowing it up I don't take the human out of the machine. The question I get most about this is, "Stephen, that's really cool that you built that. How do you get traffic to that?" I only target people who are already in MLM. They love it. MLM's cool and I don’t need to convince them of that fact. People ask me, "How do you get those people to see this page?" HOW DO I GET PEOPLE TO JOIN MY DOWNLINE? I want you to ask yourself these question: Who do I want to join my downline? Who would be my dream recruit? What are they like? What are they not like? That's the biggest mistake people make in the MLM game is to ask, who COULD I get. You should be asking yourself, who SHOULD I get. Who would be a key player? It might take a little bit longer to recruit them. You might have slower growth at the beginning. That's okay. You are building a ramp to launch off of. And it will explode. Part of my rule is that people come to me. I do not force anybody to join my downline. When I look at my downline now, the quality of individuals is huge. I have 223 people in my downline from using that strategy. I'm trying to teach you to do the same, not pressure you to join my downline. I don’t just recruit anybody. I make the act of joining my down line an offer. I let people come to me. I do subtle drops in my podcast. I do subtle drops in other areas as well. When people want to, they can find me and follow me. What I'm delivering is so valuable that people are drawn to me without over the top pitching. It creates this desire, “I have got to get in freakin' Steve Larsen's down line." I'm trying to teach you the same in your downline. I'm not pulling you into mine, okay? Go do it in yours. Make the act of joining your downline attractive and sexy. Solved peoples problems that people will have after you recruit them. That will remove all their fears and the major issues that they have. They don't have stresses anymore when they're in your down line anymore. Give them everything they need, "I got a system for my leads. Sweet. That's amazing. I have this whole other revenue stream coming in. I get paid to prospect. Holy smokes, look at this. I'm becoming an industry leader and people are coming up. What the heck?" THE DOWNLINE LIGHT BULB MOMENT I had this whole idea five years ago. I was sat on our couch in Rexburg, Idaho. I realized, “Good grief, no one's doing this.” There's people that have come close, but nobody really teaches marketing. I don't mean Facebook ads. That's a way to market, but that's not marketing. No one's teaching funnels No one's teaching become an attractive character No one's teaching go publish a lot I launched the first version of Secret MLM Hacks a year and a half ago. I’ve had time to refine and improve my offer based on what the market told me. Figure out where your offer fits in the market. Who do you want to recruit? Don’t just recruit anybody. You could recruit MLMer's who also like workout. You could appeal to MLMer's who also like investing. Don't just try and recruit the general MLMist. I don't want them in here. I want to attract extraordinary individuals and get them to join my downline. Remember when you were normal? You weren't an entrepreneur. Remember how boring that was? Everything was in black and white? There's elevator music constantly playing in the background? Everything's sad. Then you realize... Entrepreneurship! Oh Mylanta! BE PICKY ABOUT WHO JOINS YOUR DOWNLINE You guys are not normal people. You're not normal individuals, you understand? You get it. You see the vision. Figure out who you want to join your downline. Get picky about it. Real picky! You're going to be spending time with these people. Lots of it. Get picky. Don't recruit anybody just because you could. That was my first mistake in my first MLM. It sucked so bad. Figure out what bait gets that kind of person. They should be slightly hard to get a hold of They should be slightly hard to convince to come in to your group They should be people already in motion You don’t want somebody who never had success before. That is a rough customer. Customers are not all created equal. That's the big secret. It took me a couple years to nail down. I found a way to deliver it uniquely and bring them to me. That's what I'm trying to help you guys understand and teach and learn. I sucked so bad at first. That’s what’s helped me to learn and grow as an MLMer. I changed the story that was going on in my head. It changed my belief and what I did physically. It's one of the reasons I went into the army. It's one of the reasons I did MLM the first time. I did door-to-door sales because it freaked me out! That's WHY I did it. I wanted to learn sales in the hardest environments. It was an active decision of mine. Telemarketing. Freakin' hated it. I did it because of that. You can all do it as well. I'm trying to develop you into attractive characters and leaders. I'm trying to develop you into individuals that people want to follow. If you Google MLM funnels, my stuff's there. If you Google ClickFunnels, I'm ranking for that. I had to be willing to develop. I had to be willing to suck. I had to be willing to publish while I sucked. And that's okay. That's what I'm trying to say. You are more followable if you start now.
Miranda Here! Our podcast has been on the air now for three months and we have stepped on some truly holy ground as folks have shared on the divine nudges that led them to serving others with their talents. As weeks go by, we realize that we have more left to learn about this medium--this artform--that we love so deeply. We were thankful that our friend (and Episode 4 guest), Aj Amyx connected us with a podcast guru named Chris Cerrone for an conference call to help us learn all of the stuff. On this conference call Chris pointed out that we don't have to interview the BIG names, the people that are used to having their names in lights. Keeping it personal and honest is the way to truly connect. Podcasts are meant to be informal, vulnerable, raw and a lil' messy. After the call, I took Chris' advice, and suggested that we interview each other over a time when we lost our faith. Though Meg was hesitant, I persisted. And with some cake and hot beverages, we scheduled these interviews! Last year I went through the biggest breakdown of my personhood when I went through a divorce. All of who I was and who I thought I would be was questioned. But as Meg encouraged - “Sometimes in sharing our hardest of stories, we help one another find healing.” I still feel like God is healing me and the parts of my life that I label as broken. I share on the timeline of grief, or more of my desire for a timeline. You'll hear about the community that I leaned on, and the scripture that I grasped on to and haven't let go of since. You'll also get to hear the story of the commencement address that I HATED at the time, but turned out to be some of the best encouragement I've received. God's imagination and storytelling is better than our own. And to steal a benediction from Meg, “May this episode encourage and empower you, and may you be thankful that it's just an audio file so you don't see me ugly cry.” The Listening Chair is an outlet of the Institute for Discipleship (IFD). Podcastification - podcasting tips, podcast tricks, how to podcast better
What is the best way to reach out to influencers and guest you REALLY, REALLY, REALLY want to be on your podcast. In this series I’m going to walk you through everything from reaching out to guests to the practical parts of how you get the conversation scheduled, what you can do to make it easy for them to say “Yes” to you, and the promotion and follow-up that needs to happen all along the way. If you want to reach out to influencers effectively, I suggest you take the time to listen to this episode. [2:58] Dream big! Create a list of the influencers you would LOVE to have on your podcast. If you don’t know who you would like to have as a stellar guest on your podcast then you’re never going to reach out to them. You’ve got to think outside the realm of reality to dream a little. What does that mean? You’ll hear my version of getting outside the box of current reality in this section of the episode. You’re going to be challenged to step outside your comfort zone for the sake of growth - to put you into a place of risk and opportunity all at the same time. [6:16] Do your homework about your guests. Homework. In school, I HATED homework. But when it comes to life, business, etc. you’ve got to work hard to create the reality you want. So, as you look at the bullet point list of ideal influencers you want to have as a guest on your podcast, you need to understand exactly why that person is a fit for your audience. You need to know exactly why that guest would bring great value to your show. [8:45] Focus on the benefit it will be to YOUR GUEST to appear on your podcast. Once you understand WHO is the best guest to have on your podcast you have to begin to craft the correspondence you’re going to send to them that invites them to be a guest on your podcast. You need to do this in a way that makes it obvious that you want to add value to what they are doing. In shortTo, you want to help them. Your outreach to influencers in your niche has to be aimed at benefitting those you’re reaching out to. It’s called relationship marketing, it’s called SOCIAL sales - and you’ll get a lot more traction when you approach it that way. I’m walking through the mindset and the practice of doing this well, on this episode. [17:17] How are you practically going to connect with the influencer in your space? When it comes to reaching out to those who are the influencers in your niche, what’s the best way to reach out to them? Email? A contact form? Social media? A phone call? There are LOTS of options but are there specific ways that are better than others? Yes, there are. What are they? My answer is that “it depends.” You knew that was coming, didn’t you? :) On this episode I’m going to unpack that answer to help you think through what it will take to reach those who will bring such great value to your audience. [24:22] Tools to make it easier for the influencer to say “yes.” When you reach out to the influencer you’re hoping will agree to be on your podcast you need to make it easy for them to say, “Yes.” Who do you do that? Through making it convenient for them to schedule a time to have the conversation, to provide you the resources you need to make their episode the best it can be, and more. I walk through the details of making it practically possible for that guest to join you on your podcast. www.YouCanBook.me Schedule Once Acuity Scheduling Connect with me… Carey(AT)PodcastFastTrack.com On Facebook On Twitter
Have a stack of "to be read" books and magazines lying around? (My son, Daniel, labels his "to be read" TBR.) Want to get those reports at work read faster? A few years ago I got into reading faster. I will not call it speed reading because that conjures up images of those weird speed reading exercises when I was in grade school and I start to hyperventilate. (Have I mentioned - I HATED school?) My method has been more of a speed skim, but it worked for me. Yet, the other day I came across a speed reading course online and bought it. I have found it easy to do and very useful - so I wanted to share at least some of what I have learned. [Tweet "You can easily read 1 book a week in 2018 with a speed process. Challenge? #52in18"] The course ...Speed Reading Foundation Course by Iris. Yes - I am an affiliate, but for a few bucks I found it to be awesome. (It is on sale for $99). The course covers all kinds of strategies for reading non-fiction, magazines, newspapers, email, blogs, and even fiction - which is one I had not seen before. I have spent between 15 to 30 minutes a day in this course for about a week or so, and I can only say that I wish I had bought it sooner. While the course might really increase my speed (yes I really think it will - and likely already has), the real magic is in the process. So here I wanted to share with you the key ideas behind increasing your speed (and comprehension) and how to deal with non-fiction books. Grab a book from the top of your stack and join me! Main Principles to Increase Reading Speed 1. Use finger or pencil as a guide and move 3 words at a time. Our eyes tend to follow motion, so our hand or a pen moving along will draw our eyes forward. I do see why this method works because I find it is easier to get into a rhythm with my hand than without. Then note that you can actually see groups of words instead of one word. If you do not buy this, think about road signs. We glance and know what they say. Perhaps this is a little about context - but the next process I will show you will help to put all reading into context. For your typical non-fiction book, this will mean about 3 "hops" per line. This might seem awkward at first - but if you practice this about 15 minutes per day it will become natural. Really - it does work!!! 2. Stop regressing Much of the time you spend reading is going back to something you think you missed. This is called regressing. So instead, move on. Again, this takes practice to develop trust.. Much of our going back is a waste since we will pick up the context later. We have to remember that in almost all reading it is not each word we need to get, but the scope and context. One reason for this is that most written words are wasted and could have been cut out in the first place without a loss in meaning. 3. Stop saying the words in your head If you say or lip read every word - you will never get faster. Your mind moves faster than your lips, so shut your mouth and try it. But even then, you will "think" every word, which is called subvocalizing, it will slow you down. I still have not broken that habit - but I can see this is a key to speed. 4. Practice The Speed Reading Foundation Course by Iris suggests spending 15 minutes a day practicing. Not bad - certainly fits into my 15-minute rule. But to make it even easier, they have a really handy tool called accelareader which allows you to control the timing of words on the screen. The typical person reads 150-250 words per minute (wpm). First start and test where you feel comfortable - and that is your reading speed. (yes - it does vary ). So in your 15 minutes per day, try increasing the speed. I read about 300 wpm, therefore I am practicing at 400 wpm. It will seem awkward at first but stick with it. This is not so much about comprehension at this point - but learning to see the words. Once you can do that,
