While experiencing the residual stigma associated with the criminal accusations, Sean and Duke won an NCAA Lacrosse Championship in 2010. Another scandal rocked Duke athletics that same year when a viral PowerPoint was released by a Duke student that revealed intimate details of her sexual interactions with multiple Duke student-athletes. Sean was included in the PowerPoint, but instead of dwelling on a blemished reputation, he doubled down on lacrosse – signing with a major league lacrosse team and winning a championship in 2015. After reaching the pinnacle of pro lacrosse, Sean retired from the sport to enter the world of business with his dad at Brady Risk in Long Island, NY. Sean developed a strong niche in the hospitality space, then COVID-19 hit his clients, his income, and his value proposition extremely hard. Sean fought hard to pivot, develop new niches, and establish new revenue streams, coming out of the pandemic in a better position than he was in before.Sean and I discussed:· The Duke Lacrosse scandal and his experience dealing with the fallout· His resolve to persevere through the release of the viral PowerPoint· Winning NCAA & professional lacrosse championships· Growing Brady Risk Management· Successfully fighting through COVID-19 by developing new niches
