The Essential 11
Life Begins at the End of Your Comfort Zone w/ Aaron Bare

The Essential 11

Play Episode Listen Later Jul 3, 2023 47:00

We always claim we want to step out of our comfort zones, take a bite out of life, challenge and transform ourselves. Yet we almost never do. It's one of those picky things that sounds fantastic in principle but is extremely difficult in practice. Leaving your comfort zone entails breaking your environment apart in search of fresh experiences. It's something we all strive to do, say we're going to do, and then never truly do. We never stray too far from our created little boxes. It's easy to become complacent and not want to upset our sense of calm. Taking down the walls entails a great deal of agony for the sake of progress. Aaron Bare imparts his life's lessons, wisdom, and counsel to everyone listening today. Life always begins with one step outside of your comfort zone. You must be uncomfortable to be successful. If you stay in your comfort zone, you will never do the things that you need to do. Tune in as young leaders ask questions about life, personal growth, and more! Quotes: “As young men, I think it's very important to venture out of your own comfort zone and to learn about yourself.” – Aaron Bare “In life, what you put in is what you're going to get out. Your product is only as good as what you're willing to put into it.” – Aaron Bare “The key is to not get caught thinking and daydreaming It's actually doing and working towards it.” – Aaron Bare Takeaways: You will never change your life unless you leave your comfort zone; transformation begins at the other end of your comfort zone.   Do the best you can in every task, no matter how unimportant it may seem at the time. So many things seem impossible until you try. Don't tell anyone what you're planning to do; instead, simply do it. Go out with faith and into your calling. Conclusion: A comfort zone is designed to be shattered in order for us to thrive in this world. The most important thing is to recognize that this is a learning process and that, while there will be dread, overcoming that fear will leave no corresponding emotion. It can also be done in a variety of methods, such as physical or social challenges, and which one they choose is entirely up to them. This may appear strange and frightening, but witnessing some results or defeating that fear will leave you with the most accomplished sensation.

Albert Einstein once remarked that “the measure of intelligence is the ability to change,” and we can't think of a better way to sum up this week's episode with Aaron Bare.    A Change Agent, Strategic Educator, and a Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and #1 Amazon best-selling author, Aaron is one of the top facilitators in the world and has worked with (just to name a few) NASA, Coa-Cola, Facebook, Amazon, and Adobe, generating over $4 billion in documented results. And now he's taking that experience and knowledge he's collected from these elite Board Rooms and making it accessible to help small and medium businesses.    As Aaron points out, our world is evolving at a remarkable pace, and if businesses don't change with it, they die. As a facilitator, he helps leaders and owners shift to a “yes, and” mentality, teaching them to be willing to make decisions quickly and accept that there's always a better business model out there. Companies like Bed Bath & Beyond may blame Amazon for running them out of business, but they - like so many others - had the opportunity to adjust and adapt. Aaron wants to help leadership teams think as change agents.    Ask yourself: Do I want to be part of the change, or do I want to let the change happen to me?  Episode Highlights:   Why embracing change is vital to survival Why wisdom will get you so much further than knowledge Why relationships will only take you so far in business Which industry is ripe for AI disruption A look at his best-selling book, ‘Exponential Theory, the Power of Thinking Big.' Which industry is going to impact every other industry How AI could help companies 10x their work Favorite Quote:   “The world is changing faster than you want it to. You can either resist it and let the world go by you, or you can embrace that change and lean into it.”    Connect with Aaron: www.Aaronbare.com Instagram: @aaronbare Linkedin: Aaron Bare   How To Get Involved: Matthew Meehan and Luigi Rosabianca use their combined experience to provide insight and strategic advice to help small and medium-sized businesses in America have the same opportunities as corporate 500 companies. Everyone has their problems. They could be financial, personal, or a combination of the two. But whatever they are, difficulties are an inevitable part of existence. Our lives are filled with uncertainties. We can keep trying and improving at something that appears complicated at first. But that doesn't imply you should abandon your goals since you can't reach them in the first place. Layne Norton is a professional weightlifter and bodybuilder who has competed in the world's most prestigious weightlifting competitions. Layne's story is one of overcoming self-doubt and fear of failure to achieve success. He will talk about how he overcame those hurdles and succeeded in his career as a weightlifter. Aaron Bare is a Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and #1 Amazon Bestselling Author of Exponential Theory (X‑Theory). With his life experience, he understands that if you want to succeed in anything you do, it starts with having a growth mindset and being passionate about learning. Tune in to hear what today's young leaders have to say about everything from the meaning of life to how to succeed as an entrepreneur. Quotes: "Self-confidence does not develop unless you have done something correctly and overcome it." - Matt Beaudreau "Keep your feet going, and don't stop. Because you can usually keep pushing forward. I just kept moving, no matter how horrible it was". - Layne Norton "Doing something because you are enthusiastic about it is the most effective approach to ensure that your life has significance." - Layne Norton "Follow the success patterns of those other individuals who are accomplishing what you want to do have put down for you." - Matt Beaudreau Takeaways: Most people are eager to make an effort if there is a guaranteed outcome; nevertheless, it is tough for them to put in the labor when there is no assurance of a result. One of the most important things you can do to enhance your life is to be consistent and committed. You can establish a plan, stick to it, and reap the benefits when you're consistent. When you commit to anything for the long term, you can see it through and get the results you desire. Resilience is the ability to recover from adversity and make mistakes. It is not just about being able to tolerate pain but also about learning from it and moving forward. Resilience is crucial because it permits people to persevere in the face of adversity. While consistency, commitment, resilience, and enthusiasm are all crucial qualities, the growth mindset may be the most potent. People will approach obstacles confidently and efficiently when they believe in their ability to grow and develop over time. They will be able to adapt to shifting trends and conditions. Because they have a healthy view of how their work should change through time, their work will be more creative and original.

Every business owner may wonder what differentiates a normal business from an extraordinary business. The answer: extraordinary business owners aim for the extraordinary and think big. Of course, every business growth is great, even when it happens in slow, linear increments. But why grow linear when you can grow exponentially? In this episode of The Mentee Podcast, Aaron Bare, strategic facilitator and bestselling author, shares his tips on creating an exponential and purposeful business. He discusses the power of flow and exponential habits to serve your business, purpose, wealth, and life. Here are some power takeaways from today's conversation: Always seek to innovate and stand out. Be present in the moment. Unlearn unhealthy programs to create a better future. Find your massive transformative purpose. Create a sustainable model. [11:47] Getting Into Your Flow Most people don't grow at the rate they want because they equate success to fame. If you want to become exponential, don't try to fit in. In doing so, you must be prepared to be misunderstood for a long time. Flow is the ability to keep up with what's going on. You need to do deep work. Understand how the world works, and then innovate persistently. [18:43] How to Become Exponential If you find yourself glued to a screen, you'll notice it eats away at your mental health. Practice JOMO or the “Joy Of Missing Out”. Learn to say no and turn off social media for long periods. Be mindful and present in the moment. Unlearn programs, such as mindsets and beliefs, that do not serve you, and be intentional about creating the future you want. Thinking big takes less energy than thinking small. [36:33] Finding Your Massive Transformative Purpose So many problems in the world need solving. There are opportunities for exponential leaders to create solutions with the right tool set. Finding your purpose erases all the uncertainty and gives you a clear direction. [] Establish a Sustainable Model Create something repeatable, scalable, and sustainable by focusing on that statement everyone can relate to. Establish a business model that'll solve the pain points of your customers. Purpose is essential to exponentiality. Communicate your vision to others, and they will provide clarity. And surely, those people will pivot with you. Aaron Bare, a multi-talented entrepreneur who is co-founder of the Herozona Foundation, speaks on “The David Johnson Show” about an entrepreneur's journey, which often involves failure more often in the early days, which lead to successes later on. “To get to success, part of that equation is failure,” says Aaron. “The reality is, is I've failed at more businesses than I've been successful at. Some would say I'm successful, I can tell you there's also people in this world that would say I'm a failure. Regardless, it's moving forward, and, I think that's the mindset and innovation around being exponential.”“I think it's the persistence and willpower of veterans to overcome failure,” adds Aaron. “ The reality is we shouldn't really call it failure. Mistakes are learning opportunities, they are points to move forward. At the end of the day, the idea that you've thought you had to start a company is going to be completely different by the time it becomes a company. In that process you're going to fail forward, but you're going to make a lot of mistakes. The faster you fail, the faster you actually reach success.” “The David Johnson Show” is the veteran talk show that shares real stories and points of interest in the American military and veteran subculture. Aaron Bare, the Herozona Foundation co-founder, speaks about how military veterans work well with the HeroZona Foundation. In short, they understand the organization.“The veterans that we work with and have worked with in the past, they understand how the organization works,” says Bare. “They understand how to make decisions. They understand how to move things forward. They understand projects. If everything's in a project in the world that I live in, you take a veteran and you move them into a system that very much has rules. Here's what you need to do to accomplish those goals, and once you accomplish them, then you go to the next stage. Aaron Bare, co-founder of the HeroZona Foundation, speaks with David Johnson about certain types of entrepreneurs and how he wants to help others create businesses. “I've been what you call a micro-entrepreneur. I've been able to start a lot of different companies and then find management teams to take them and accelerate them. That's been my model. I'm more in love with the idea of generating ideas and helping others create businesses than myself going and running a company. I don't see myself running a billion-dollar company.
