Twenty-six cast members were announced painstakingly slowly and wordlessly, via the backs of chairs and it all ended with Robert Downey, Jr. himself strolling in and shushing the viewer. Also in an interview this week, Scarlet Witch herself, Elizabeth Olsen, claims Wanda will not be returning for either of these Avengers films.Amy Pascal and David Heyman have officially been named as producers on the next James Bond film, according to a Variety article from Tuesday. Pascal is known for her work at Sony and continues to work with Phil Lord and Christopher Miller on different projects such as Spider-Man: Noir. Heyman's name ought to be familiar to Harry Potter fans as he produced all eight of the original films and is also in pre-production on the new series. Though it took first place this weekend, the $43 million domestic opening of Disney's live action remake of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is a box office failure. Along with dismal revenue for the controversy-embroiled film, it has received an overall CinemaScore of B+ - something no Disney live action remake has done yet. Robert DeNiro's Alto Knights also debuted to disappointing figures and the Jonathan Majors-led Magazine Dreams only cracked $700,000 in its limited release.Apple's streaming service had a huge win after finishing the second season of Severance last week when the show became the most-streamed series on AppleTV+, surpassing Ted Lasso. Severance hit the Nielsen streaming report for five consecutive weeks, clocking in with 681 million minutes viewed. Apple CEO Tim Cook quickly gave the show the greenlight for a third season last Friday morning. On the heels of this news, it may be surprising - or not - to hear that Apple loses $1 billion a year on the streaming service and only has 45 million subscribers. But based on what the tech giant has said in the past, this may not matter.Speaking at Disney's annual shareholder meeting, Bob Iger confirmed that Pixar is developing a sequel film to Coco with a targeted theatrical release date sometime in 2029. Coco (2017) Coco is a 2017 American computer-animated fantasy film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. Based on an original idea by Lee Unkrich, it is directed by him and co-directed by Adrian Molina. The film's voice cast stars Anthony Gonzalez, Gael García Bernal, Benjamin Bratt, Alanna Ubach, Renée Victor, Ana Ofelia Murguía and Edward James Olmos. The story follows a 12-year-old boy named Miguel who is accidentally transported to the Land of the Dead, where he seeks the help of his deceased musician great-great-grandfather to return him to his family among the living and to reverse his family's ban on music. The concept for Coco is inspired by the Mexican holiday Day of the Dead. The film was scripted by Molina and Matthew Aldrich from a story by Unkrich, Jason Katz, Aldrich, and Molina. Pixar began developing the animation in 2016; Unkrich and some of the film's crew visited Mexico for research. Composer Michael Giacchino, who had worked on prior Pixar animated features, composed the score.

Adrian comes back on the show today to talk to us about the evolution of his approach to Yoga throughout the years.Adrian doesn't consider Yoga as a static/non-evolving practice. As human beings evolve, society evolves, and our needs evolve. Indeed it makes sense to adjust the practice of Yoga to suit our current needs - still while respecting the core values & origins of it.When Adrian started Yoga 20 years ago, it was all about the physicality of it. Learning postures & sequences to get the body moving. However, after deepening his knowledge about Yoga, and also after going through personal difficulties, Adrian started to appreciate more & more what Yoga could do for mental health and overall wellbeing.Adrian now focuses most of his time to promote this new approach through the Warrior Flow School, where Yoga can serve under-served communities and become accessible to all of us.If you enjoy listening to our podcast and would like to support us, check out our Buy Me a Coffee page:https://www.buymeacoffee.com/jippodcastOur website:https://justinterestingpeople.comFollow Adrian & the Warrior Flow School on Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/adrianmolinaofficialhttps://www.instagram.com/warriorflowschoolFollow us on Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/justinterestingpeoplehttps://www.instagram.com/rosieandre_comhttps://www.instagram.com/jeremieandre_fr
Latino USA takes a look back at Disney's relationship with Latin America. We start in the 1940s when Walt Disney and a group of animators were deployed by the U.S. government to Latin America in efforts to curb Nazi influence there. Then we hear from a Chilean writer who wrote a book called How to Read Donald Duck, critiquing Disney comics' American imperialism in the 1970s. His book would later be burned in Chile. Finally, we talk with the directors of Coco, Lee Unkrich and Adrian Molina. This podcast was originally broadcast by Latino USA on November 17, 2017.
Derek and Doug are joined this month by Stephania to talk about Coco, Pixar's critically-adored love letter to Mexico. Look, Coco's really good. Like really, really good. How'd Lee Unkrich end up making a movie about Día de Muertos, and what's the story behind Adrian Molina becoming co-director? And what can creators learn about getting stories like Coco right? This week Jivana shares a heartfelt conversation about yoga service with teacher Adrian Molina. Adrian has been teaching yoga since 2004 and has an extensive worldwide following through his platform and school of yoga, Warrior Flow. Even with his wide-ranging reach, Adrian remains humble, warm, and dedicated to using the tools and practices of yoga to benefit others. He is also a writer, meditation teacher, sound therapist, End-of-Life Doula, Mental Health First Aid facilitator, an ambassador for Accessible Yoga and Yoga for All, and soon to be a TCTSY facilitator. Adrian is recognized as a community organizer and founder of The Warrior Flow Foundation, a 501c3 nonprofit that brings the benefits of movement, therapeutic and accessible yoga, mindfulness, and stress reduction tools to schools, shelters, hospitals, police, first responders, and hospice care. He is also the co-founder of Warrior Flow TV, an online video platform that makes fitness and yoga accessible to anyone, anywhere, anytime. Jivana and Adrian discuss what self care means in the context of yoga service, how teaching is also a form of self care, and why bringing yoga to unusual places, such as hospitals and police stations, combines spiritual practice and social justice and is, in many ways, the path to a true yoga revolution. Perhaps the clearest image of God we have on earth is that of the father. Jesus sacrificed heaven and descended to be a reflection of the glory of God to his people. As children of God, we too should reflect that light. In this special Father's Day talk, Pastor Adrian Molina reminds us of how Jesus sees us as his children, “Through the Eyes of a Father”. The powerful relationship between Jesus and his father gives us a clear picture of how Jesus sees us. When we accept salvation, we are invited into sonship. We can then leverage the relationship between God the Father and Jesus to guide our relationships with anyone entrusted to our care. As extensions of our heavenly Father, we use our unique gifts to draw others closer to him.

While the ways of the world point us to gain control over our life Jesus calls us to trust him with every detail. How do we as believers loosen our grip on the things we hold so tight? Through submission, a daily practice of surrender that prompts us to fully release all of our desires into the hand of our savior. Continuing the collection of talks, “Day by Day”, Pastor Adrian Molina opens our eyes to the importance of obedience in the message, “The Mission of Submission”. Here we are given a picture of what submission looks like in our daily lives. Jesus wants us to experience the positive ramifications of submission and find contentment in trusting his sovereignty. We can pick up our cross daily and acknowledge that when we get under the authority of the Lord, we can overcome every battle.

Ryan Reynolds is certainly a successful fixture in popular culture. You may love him for his movies, his looks, or his charm, but I love him for something more: his creative genius. In February 2018, Ryan Reynolds acquired a stake in the liquor brand, Aviation American Gin. Along with a small but mighty marketing team, he has helped take the company to new heights with some of the most clever marketing campaigns we’ve seen in a long time. Who could forget their incredibly swift move when they hired the infamous Peloton wife for a commercial? But the brilliant marketing hasn’t stopped there. Fast Company named the Aviation Gin one of the most innovative brands of 2020, in large part to their quick responses to pop culture moments. On the latest episode of the Making the Brand podcast, I had the pleasure of chatting with Adrian Molina, the senior brand manager behind Aviation Gin, and social media expert and professor, Dr. Karen Freberg. It turns out that other companies should be taking notes on what Aviation Gin is doing. Pour yourself a negroni (Ryan’s favorite drink!) and listen in to hear the method to their madness. More than any other generation, information is at our fingertips. While living in the Information Age makes it a challenge, turning rest into a discipline is not out of reach. Concluding the “Restless” collection of talks, Manouchka Charles, Luke Barry, and Adrian Molina give us pointers on building restful habits in “Practice What You Preach.” Typically, we know what brings us peace but feelings often get in the way. But we can fend off their fickle effects if practical steps are applied. By paying particular attention to our schedule, environment, checklists, and work we actively choose rest. Add in Jesus' example of reading, resting, and retreating, a spiritual system we should run on repeat, and we'll truly enjoy God's rest. Ultimately, we must believe Jesus will continue showing us how to live rested. But we must also be willing students of the Master. Let us practice what we have come to know about rest, trusting that God will take care of the rest.
Episode 43 of the ThawedCast brings you Philip and Cara's review and discussion of Pixar Animation's 'Coco' (2017), directed by Lee Unkrich and co-directed by Adrian Molina. Disney/Pixar's 19th feature film, 'Coco' stars a young boy who refuses the family tradition of becoming a shoemaker in favor of a career in music. Forbidden from playing music by his family, Miguel is cursed while attempting to steal a guitar to use during the Día de Muertos festival, leaving him stranded in the Land of the Dead. Coco is a heartwarming tribute to the spirit of El Día de Los Muertos, the Mexican celebration of remembrance. The Pixar movie tells the story of Miguel, a young boy who dreams of becoming a musician. When his family forbids him to perform at a concert on El Día de Los Muertos, he steals a guitar from the memorial of a renowned musician and finds himself journeying to the Land of the Dead, where he meets some of his ancestors — and learns more about the role they play in his identity. Writer and critic Monica Castillo was moved by the portrayal of family dynamics, forgiveness, and memory across generations that comes to life through the movie’s beautiful music and animation.Monica Castillo is a writer, film critic, and the president of the National Association For Hispanic Journalists’ New York City chapter. The church isn't a place, it's a people. In seeking to equip and empower people, we have to remember there's a difference between a church _with_ small groups and a church _of_ small groups. Members of the VOUS Church staff, Michelle and Adrian Molina and Kyle Graham, get into the nitty-gritty of "How to Turn a Crowd Into a Community" during their VOUS Conference 2019 breakout session. Crews are the small groups of VOUS Church. It is where community culture gets developed by design. Crews draw support through leadership structure, resources, and systems. Each element of Crew, be it a building block, the seasonal calendar, or embedded moments to honor up, down, and all around, is there to make it better. Because, in the end, our godly goal is to foster healthy relationships and transform lives.

At some point, we all try to figure out our purpose on earth, the reason why we’re here. So we analyze the different expressions of ourselves to better understand our preferences. Along this journey to soul discovery, we also need to pay special attention to the subject of our admiration. Our collection, "7 Rules for Self Discovery," continues as Adrian Molina speaks on the topic “Find Your Focus.” In this talk, we explore the fifth rule from A.W. Tozer, who do you admire? Who we look at, what we study, and how we behave are three areas to observe that can help us determine the aim of our admiration. They are all indicators of what we’re focused on. Zeroing in on what we hold in high esteem can show us what direction we're headed and who we'll become. For sure, we would want all we hold dear to lead us back to Jesus. With our focus fixed on God, he'll develop us into the person we want to be, so we can walk the life he's planned for us.
The heart of prophecy is to reveal Jesus to us. Through these revelations, we're reminded that Jesus is just as present in our past as he will be in our future. As part of our collection, “BC/AD: The Rest is History,” Adrian Molina shares his message “Only After.” He showed that Zechariah’s prophecy of the Messiah’s peace, foretold hundreds of years before Jesus ever walked the earth, connected to the very first Palm Sunday where Jesus rode on a donkey in triumph. Today, Palm Sunday hasn’t lost its significance because we continue to celebrate our prophesied victory through Jesus. Because they're attached to Jesus, prophecies from the past have become promises of the future. Prophetic promises of hope, peace, love, and life all belong to Jesus. We can take comfort because when we attach to Jesus, those promises are then attached to us. Prophesy reminds us that the God of yesterday, today, and tomorrow holds our destiny in his hands. We need only to trust him and watch to see his promises fulfilled in our lives.
After a trip to Oaxaca, there was only one story that the 21st Rewrite (William Coldwell and Alan Vazquez) wanted to talk about, and that was 'Coco'! An inspirational tale for young people following their dreams, and a celebration of the culture, music and traditions of Mexico, there was plenty to talk about with this screenplay. This episode covers some of the historical and current events that helped shape the portrayal of the Rivera family and the Day of the Dead celebrations in the town of Santa Cecilia, as well as the mythological motifs that are apparent throughout the film. *** Want to comment, get news and join episode discussions? We have to podcast. It's not just in us... It is us. Coco is one of Pixar's most beautiful films. It is also one of the studio's most pagan. The film commits to an afterlife - and tells us a host of dangerous lies about the afterlife (admittedly not the ones we'd expect though). So how do viewers (and parents) separate the beautiful from the beautiful lies in Coco. Hit the download button on this episode, press play, and let the guys from The Pop Culture Coram Deo Podcast help you do just that!

Winfree and Radulich review the latest Pixar feature, Coco! Coco is a 2017 American 3D computer-animated musical fantasy film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures.[9] Based on an original idea by Lee Unkrich, it is directed by Unkrich and co-directed by Adrian Molina. The story follows a 12-year-old boy named Miguel who is accidentally transported to the land of the dead, where he seeks the help of his musician great-great-grandfather to return him to his family among the living. The concept of the film is based on the Mexican holiday of Día de Muertos. The screenplay was penned by Molina and Matthew Aldrich, based on a story by Unkrich, Molina, Jason Katz and Aldrich. Pixar began developing animation in 2016; Unkrich and some of the film's crew visited Mexico for inspiration. Composer Michael Giacchino, who had worked on prior Pixar animated features, composed the score. The film's voice cast features Anthony Gonzalez, Gael García Bernal, Benjamin Bratt, Alanna Ubach, Renée Victor, Ana Ofelia Murguía and Edward James Olmos. It is the first-ever film with a nine-digit budget to feature an all-Latino cast, with a cost between $175–200 million.
Timely, topical, and fascinating on multiple levels is the only way to describe this episode of BEHIND THE LENS with a nice mix for all thanks to special guest JACOB KORNBLUTH and some exclusive interviews with award-worthy filmmakers of COCO and composer CARTER BURWELL! No stranger to BTL, director JACOB KORNBLUTH is back talking about his latest documentary, SAVING CAPITALISM, based on the best-seller by former U.S. Labor Secretary Robert Reich. Kornbluth and Reich first teamed up some years ago for the acclaimed INEQUALITY FOR ALL and have since gone on to not only collaborate on some 40 short videos which have gone viral with more than 250 million YouTube views, but also founded the non-profit, INEQUALITY MEDIA. Although a sobering subject, with SAVING CAPITALISM Jacob and Bob give us hope for the future, not to mention hope for filmmakers as Jacob discusses the journey to bring this book to the screen, the total shift in the political climate while in production, losing and then regaining focus, and more, as we dig into this rich collaboration between Reich and Kornbluth. Before Jacob joins us at the midpoint of the show, we're talking more COCO and specifically, the task of skeleton design. For those of you who saw the film this weekend, you'll appreciate hearing what director Lee Unkrich, producer Darla Anderson, and writer/co-director Adrian Molina have to say on the subject. And take a listen to our exclusive interview with composer CARTER BURWELL. Riding high with a trifecta of WONDERSTRUCK, GOODBYE CHRISTOPHER ROBIN, and THREE BILLBOARDS OUTSIDE EBBING MISSOURI (all award-worthy contenders), we discuss all three films from composition to instrumentation and emotionality. http://behindthelensonline.net http://eliasentertainmentnetwork.com

SHOW NOTES: Kicking off the show we start with our discussion highlighting Julie's trip to Pixar, noting the highlights from visiting the studio (including the store), her thoughts on the 35-minute screening, and our feedback on the roundtable interview. Summary of questions asked during the roundtable How many references are there to The Shining in Coco? What other movies influenced how the afterlife was depicted in Coco? How would you like Mexican communities and cultures to view the film? Was there any concern with the number of characters in the film? What is Miguel's character arc? (Not answered) Will people feel left out since there are moments of untranslated Spanish throughout the film? Are there Mexican historical figures in the film? Where did the idea for the film come from and were there concerns since you're not Latino? What role did the cultural consultants play that you brought on? Will John Ratzenburger still lend his vocal talents to the film (even though it's an all-Latin cast)? Much like other Pixar films, are there still subtle lighting cues which signify struggle and success even though the film contains a lot of darkness? The film is elaborate in size and scale, did the studio ever say "no" to something on the film because it was too expensive? Were there a lot of new programs which had to be created to accommodate the film's production?
