Putting together VideoFuzzy ep. 100 -- coffee certainly helps!   Hi! My name is Terry J. Aman, marking my 100th episode of VideoFuzzy, reporting the progress I've made in cataloging thousands of VHS transfers and digital recordings. This set covers discs 1751 to 1800 in my Classic Collection. I open with a project overview highlighting some of my finds. For my Fuzzy Feature, I encountered the 100th episode of "Bones" that recalled the first case Booth and Bones worked on together. I found a similar story construction in "In Plain Sight," and talked about that one as well. Under Cross Connections I trace Golden Threads Todd Giebenhain and, later, Michael Shamus Wiles. Also, appearances by Amy Acker, Lee Majors, Kathy Najimy, Bryan Batt, Alan Ruck, Stephen Root, Katie Sackhoff, Mark Bergeron, Angela Bassett, Sarah Silverman, Rita Moreno, Dana Delany, Sheryl Crow, Mary Pat Gleason, Marc A. Sheppard, Charlotte Arren, Johnny Broderick, Cyd Cherise, Fred Astaire, Jane Lynch, Olivia Munn and Brian Skala. And under Fond Reflections, love for Michelle Trachtenberg of "Buffy," "Mercy" and "Six Feet Under," and I share some headcanon from an "Angel" chat group I was in. In Video Outreach, I share comments from author and fellow podcaster Kemper Donovan on my review of "Loose Lips," available here: https://bit.ly/3C11ENN Kemper hosts the "All About Agatha" podcast here: https://bit.ly/43j4hnB Then I chat with my sister, Patti Ellingson, about shows we've enjoyed, including "Doctor Who," "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "Bridgerton" and "Stranger Things." I know I've mentioned my sister's influence on my television viewing different times over the course of this production, and this felt like a fantastic opportunity to chat with her directly. So much fun! In my Classic Collection, I take almost a disc-by-disc deep dive on what I was finding in this set, beginning with a third meet-cute storyline I encountered in this set: the first season finale of "Human Target." Also, comments on "Arrested Development," "The Simpsons," "FlashForward," "Archer," "24," "Caprica," "Community," "Mercy," "Ugly Betty," "Parks and Recreation," "Justified," 2002 and 2005 MTV Movie Award shows, "The Daily Show" and "The Colbert Report," "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" C-SPAN coverage of the Affordable Care Act, "Breaking Bad," "The Big Bang Theory," "Jawbreaker," "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" "Batman Returns," "The Three Faces of Eve," "Sybil," Union activity at The Minot Daily News, "Star Trek Voyager," "Fawlty Towers," "Monty Python's Flying Circus," commercials and music videos, "LOST," "Cougar Town," "Castle," "Fringe," "Chuck," "Broadway Melody of 1940," "Silk Stockings," "V" and "Damages."  Also surfacing in this cataloging effort I found home movies, including a one-act presented at the Carnegie Center in Minot in 2002 or so called "Excerpts." Friends of mine read from books in my collection: https://bit.ly/3DslFO6 It's a bit silly, but if you think of books on your shelves murmuring to one another, that was the idea I was going for. Then, from 100 episodes, I share 100 clips! But there'd only be 99, right? Well, one of the clips I shared referenced outtakes from a "Michael Caine in Space" sketch on "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" which, at the time, I had trouble locating. Since then, I was able to locate it here: https://bit.ly/4hnn9XM Enjoy! Finally, in What I've Been Watching, Ralph and I took in Larry Shue's "The Nerd" at the Vernal Theatre downtown, and I shared some thoughts. The company closes out its season with a production of Cole Porter's "Kiss Me Kate" coming up in mid-April, and we're looking forward to it. Tickets and information at https://www.vernaltheatre.com. TOP FIFTEEN: Here's a "Top Fifteen" episode guide for people looking for a quick read-in on this blog and podcast effort: https://videofuzzy.libsyn.com/about. Enjoy!

Last week, we paid tribute to Sal Romano's final appearance on Mad Men, so this week we had on Bryan Batt, the actor who plays Sal to talk about all things Mad Men! The best part might be the fact that Will had no idea Bryan was going to be on the show going in, so you get to hear his actual reaction to suddenly seeing Sal himself in the recording studio. Bryan answered all of our questions, even the silly ones, including his head canon for what Sal might've done in the universe of the show after Sterling Cooper, what he would like for a "Better Call Sal" spinoff, the possibility of a Mad Men revival, and plenty more. In case this is your first time digging into Mad Men Men, our humble little baby podcast recaps Mad Men from the perspective of someone who hasn't really watched the show, someone who went through it once a long time ago, and a superfan who watches excessively it instead of having a functional social life. You can find our conversations about the first season on our podcast feed, as we are now on a new website. Extra credits Matthew Weiner created Mad Men, which aired on AMC from 2007 to 2015. The show stars Jon Hamm, January Jones, Elisabeth Moss, Vincent Kartheiser, Christina Hendricks, John Slattery, Robert Morse, Bryan Batt, and many more. Based upon a popular off-Broadway stage play performed in the early '90s, this sweet-natured but raunchy romantic comedy was one of the first of its kind when it came out in the mid '90's: it focused on a budding romance between two gay men including the titular protagonist Jeffrey played by Steven Weber who then was best known as the star of the popular network sitcom, "Wings."  We follow Jeffrey on a journey of self-discovery amid his struggle to be comfortable building a new connection during the Age of AIDS....and yet most of this played for laughs thanks to an unending stream of comic vignettes written by Paul Rudnick, adapting his own stage show for the screen.  Michael T. Weiss co-stars as the subject of Jeffrey's affections along with Patrick Stewart and Bryan Batt.  Also included among the extensive stacked cast are Sigourney Weaver, Nathan Lane, and Kathy Najimy.  Just in time for the kick-off of Pride Month, it's time to revisit this groundbreaking rom-com directed by Christopher Ashley! Host: Geoff Gershon  Producer: Marlene Gershonhttps://livingforthecinema.com/Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/Living-for-the-Cinema-Podcast-101167838847578Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/livingforthecinema/Letterboxd:https://letterboxd.com/Living4Cinema/

Directed by Will Addison and featuring: Linda Hamilton (The Terminator), Bryan Batt ("Mad Men"), Dwight Henry (Beasts of the Southern Wild), Ben Matheny (Assassination Nation) Best buds, Jack and Scottie (Ben Matheny and Matthew Martinez) are going nowhere fast in their crumbling, Mississippi hometown. They have big dreams and no prospects. When the friends learn of hidden loot in sunny California, they decide to take their shot at the American Dream. However, when their hometown criminal matriarch "King George'' (Linda Hamilton), hears of the windfall, she sends her personal bounty hunter/daughter, "Blue Eyes" (Susan Gordon) to chase them down. Broke and out of gas, Jack and Scottie attempt to drive off with "borrowed" fuel... and wind up staging an impromptu hold-up. The bungled job saddles them with a whiney, accidental hostage named Collin (comedian Cory Dumesnil) and lands them in the crosshairs of a cocky Texas cop and world-weary sheriff (Bryan Batt and Dwight Henry). With no turning back and two thousand miles to go, they have no choice but to rob their way across the Southwest... with the reluctant assistance of Collin. Now the good times are rolling as the ragtag trio's anti-heroics bring about an unlikely friendship with a blossoming Collin. All the while, Blue Eyes and Johnny Law are closing in. Born September 26, 1956 in Salisbury, Maryland, Linda Hamilton is an actress best known for her portrayal as Sarah Connor in the Terminator movie franchise. When Linda was just five, her father, Carroll Stanford Hamilton, passed away. Her mother later remarried a police chief. Linda is one of four siblings in her family- with one older sister, one young brother and a twin sister named Leslie Hamilton Gearren. After attending high school at Wicomico High School in Salisbury, Linda studied for two years at Washington College in Chestertown, Maryland, before leaving for New York to attend acting workshops given by Lee Strasberg. Linda had her first acting credit in the indie drama Night-Flowers (1979), but began to make a name for herself on the soap opera Secrets of the Midland Heights (1980-81), playing Lisa Rogers. She would continue to build up her resumé on television with the TV movies Reunion (1980), Country Gold (1982), Wishman (1983), and Secrets of a Mother and Daughter (1983), as well as guest appearances on TV series such as Shirley, King's Crossing and Hill Street Blues. In 1982 she starred opposite Robert Carradine in the action thriller Tag: The Assassination Game, as Susan Swayze. Her first big break came in 1984 when she starred in James Cameron's The Terminator alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger and Michael Biehn. That same year she also starred in Fritz Kiersh's adaptation of Children of the Corn. The following years would see her split time between TV and Hollywood with TV movies Secret Weapons, Club Med and Go Toward the Light and big screen projects like Black Moon Rising (1986) and King Kong Lives (1986). Linda reached a new career high in 1987 when she was cast in a starring role on the contemporary TV adaptation of Beauty and the Beast. In the crime drama set in Manhattan, Linda starred opposite Ron Perlman's Beast as Assistant District Attorney Catherine Chandler, a role that earned her a Primetime Emmy nomination as well as two Golden Globe nominations. Following Beauty and the Beast's three season run, Linda returned to the big screen in Mr. Destiny (1990) opposite Michael Caine, and a return to Sarah Connor, the role that made her a household name in Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991). The following years saw her split time again between TV films and Hollywood movies while also expanding her repertoire by lending her voice talents to animated shows. Linda joined the DC Animated Universe by lending her voice talents to the animated series The New Batman Adventures, as well as Batman Beyond and its film Batman Beyond: The Movie (both 1999). Furthering her voice acting career she joined Disney animated series Hercules and Buzz Lightyear of Star Commandas a recurring character. The rest of the 2000s would see Linda take a step back, taking supporting roles in lower profile projects before again returning to TV with the 2009 crime series The Line. On the film side she made an uncredited return to the Terminator franchise by recording new dialogue for McG's Terminator Salvation sequel. Longtime fans finally found a new beloved role for Linda as she starred in a recurring role for the hit series Chuck as the titular character's mother Mary Elizabeth Bartowski. Linda would continue her resurgence, appearing in recurring roles on TV series such as Air Force One Is Down, Defiance, and Lost Girl. Finally, Linda fully embraced a return to the Terminator franchise with a substantial role as Sarah Connor in Tim Miller's Terminator: Dark Fate (2019), which would provide proper closure for the character that has helped define her career. Linda has a son with her first husband, actor Bruce Abbott to whom she was married for seven years (1982 to 1989). She also has a daughter with second husband, director James Cameron, but the marriage ended after only two years, in 1999, although they'd been together for many years before they were married. Bryan Batt is the biggest Broadway and TV star in town, and one of the most down to earth and nicest guys you could run into in a New Orleans bar. When she s not adjusting her bangs or pulling pet hair off of her clothes, Addy is one of New Orleans funniest comedians and to make that point she s immortalizing herself at the end of the month by making a live recording of her show, currently titled Unnamed For Now aka Isn t This Fun, with no question mark. John Lisi leads a band called Delta Funk that plays around the world and, when they re home, up and down Frenchmen Street at a different club every night. Playing guitar every night is one reason John is one of the greatest players in the city, which by the way is saying something in any city but especially here in New Orleans. John plays a couple of songs on this Happy Hour an original, "Got Cleaned Up," and a Big Bill Broonzy classic. If you want to see how John does it you can find a video version of this show of this show on our Facebook page. Andrew Duhon tries out a new song from his Unnamed For Now record and gets way more of an enthusiastic response than he was expecting. This is a breezy, casua, smart and frank conversation with a bunch of people whose talent would give any one of them the right to brag. But every single one of them has most definitely checked their ego at the door. You won t get more of a refreshingly fun and energetic New Orleans vibe anywhere than this Happy Hour.
