Cosmic Cousins, I have returned to the breathtaking Big Island of Hawai'i, the birthplace of the Cosmic Cousins podcast and the starting point of my astrology career to celebrate 6 years! Just 10 minutes upon my arrival, the powerful and awe-inspiring volcano, Pele, the majestic Kilauea, erupted! This week I was gifted the opportunity to witness the lava bursting from the volcano's Halemaumau crater. Gurgling fountains spewed lava high into air. The raw energy and intensity of the eruption was truly remarkable. The volcano has such immense transformative energy that permeates this sacred land. As I celebrate 6 years of Cosmic Cousins, I find it deeply meaningful that this eruption coincides with this milestone. It serves as a reminder of the incredible lessons, creations, and experiences that have shaped our journey together. Throughout this time, we have learned the importance of community, the power of connection, and the healing energy of nature. The Big Island has been a catalyst for my growth and healing, allowing me to tap into the wisdom of the cosmos and share it with you. It has been a place of inspiration, where the volcanic energy mirrors the creation, passion, and devotion within. What is devotion? What role can devotion play in our path as spiritual beings? How can tarot and astrology assist us in deepening our devotional practices?For many of us, myself included, the word ‘devotion' has become a keyword closely associated with the zodiac sign Virgo. Launching the podcast during the Virgo New Moon of 2017 (Virgo Sun – Virgo Moon) and closing out on the Pisces New Moon of 2021 (Pisces Sun – Pisces Moon) feels like a deep honoring and poetic close out to what has been a truly rewarding and fulfilling experience. This decision comes with a great deal of surrender and trust in the Unknown. In order to grow in new ways, I know I need extra space to rest and reflect. This certainly isn’t a goodbye. It's very likely the podcast will continue on in new ways in the future — perhaps this Autumn I will be ready to relaunch with a whole new vision— but for now it is uncertain. On this Pisces New Moon, it’s my hopes that we all gift ourself permission to eb and flow with the tides of our soul, even if that feels scary or unknown. With this new space created in my life I am hoping to immerse myself in writing. There are a number of books inside me on both tarot and astrology that are ready to be birthed – and spirit is starting to get loud! So, I must heed the calling.
