All Home Care Matters was honored to welcome Laurette Klier, Christine Droney, Elisa Bosley, and Paula Muller as guests to the show to discuss "Spirituality, Faith, & Care." About Laurette Klier - Founder of NANA'S Books: As the founder of NANA'S BOOKS, Laurette Klier brings a wealth of experience and expertise to elder care and compassionate communication. With a lifelong commitment to teaching and caregiving, Laurette holds undergraduate and master's degrees in speech communications and education from Boston College. A certified dementia practitioner and cognitive stimulation therapist, Laurette is dedicated to enhancing the lives of elders through innovative techniques and purposeful resources.  An Aetna fellow and teacher consultant for the National Writing Project, Laurette blends academic knowledge with hands-on caregiving experience. Her pioneering approach to re-imagining the culture of elder engagement has earned her a 2021 Maude's Award, a 2023 National Mature Media Award and a 2023 Service to Seniors Award from the National Society of Certified Senior Advisors.  About Christine Droney, LCSW, MSW, CT, MPH-C, NCTTP: Christine's journey began 3,217 miles away in Belfast, Northern Ireland, during the Troubles, the war of the 1970s. Her parents bravely left everything they knew behind to pursue a life of peace and opportunity for their family in the United States. Christina has noticed the barriers to an individual's (and their family's) emotional, social, and cultural experiences while going through complex life events. These barriers contributed poorly to their mental health. After years of starting a family and raising children with a bleeding disorder, she was determined to embark on a path of being part of the solution to the problem. Christine's emphasis on whole-person wellness provides a holistic treatment to your psychological well-being. Therefore, she inherently invest in the best outcome for her clients. Christine is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Her desire to help others has pushed her to serve her community for over thirty years. She was inducted into the New Jersey Women's Hall of Fame in 2017 for her contributions to social services and volunteerism. She has made over 400 visits to the United States Senate, House of Representatives, and legislative offices advocating on behalf of patients for much-needed change. She has a passion for education issues, brain health, Men's, Women's, and LGTBQIA+ health, and has worked on several nonprofit boards.  About Elisa Bosley, Chaplain: Elisa has more than 40 years of experience leading non-denominational Christian worship services and Bible studies in both church and parachurch settings. She also has over 20+ years of experience interacting with older adults with dementia, a population she absolutely loves. (Her own father-in-law developed Alzheimer's disease in the early 2000s, and she and her husband were intimately involved with his journey until his death in 2012.) In 2016, she combined her spiritual-care experience with my dementia-care experience and became a licensed chaplain for elders with dementia. She serves at a long-term memory care community near her home in Boulder, Colorado. She is now caring for a parent living with dementia.  About Paula Muller, Ph.D.: Founder of CareLink360™, brings a wealth of experience in healthcare technology, including a background in Biomedical Engineering, EEG analysis in Switzerland, Ph.D., and Post-doc work with Parkinson patients. Her career spans tech and software development roles at companies like SiriusXM, Net-Scale Technologies, and Authentidate. Paula's vision for CareLink360™, inspired by her commitment to family bonds, aims to bring seniors and their loved ones closer together.

We had the pleasure of interviewing Patrick Droney over Zoom video!Patrick Droney grew up in the era of dedication lines and VHS tapes. He survives on sentimentality. It hits him every time he hears Delilah on the radio or passes by the Blockbuster sign near the bodega on his corner. The Brooklyn and Nashville based artist/producer/guitar sensation returns with his sophomore album, SUBTITLES FOR FEELINGS, which explores the idea that each frame of life holds a deeper context—a subtitle meant to be translated in time.Written and co-produced by Patrick Droney with collaborators including Foy Vance, Butch Walker, Jon Green, and Lori McKenna, the songs are a deepening of his timeless, cinematic pop sound. Rewind to May 2021, when Droney released his debut album, STATE OF THE HEART. With streams now in the hundreds of millions, the project was his own coming of age film, offering striking snapshots of the human condition in songs like “Glitter” and “The Wire.”Since then, he has toured extensively, selling out shows across the U.S. and making his U.K. debut with the Eagles at London's Hyde Park. He performed at Super Bowl LVII, claims alumni status at Late Night With Seth Meyers, The Kelly Clarkson Show, and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and has shared stages with Sheryl Crow, The Vamps, and more. He also released genre-bending collaborations with Kygo (“Say You Will”) and Billy F. Gibbons (“Rough Boy”).We want to hear from you! DittyTV's Insights | Artist Interviews

Singer, songwriter, and celebrated guitarist Patrick Droney stopped by to talk about his debut full-length studio album State of The Heart, which was released last month via Warner Records. It's an album that explores the meaning of loss, reconciling what's behind you, and the pursuit of self with 15 tracks entirely co-produced and co-written by Droney. At its core, State of The Heart offers an in-depth look into the long journey its creator undertook in order to get to this exact moment in time – a tale of three cities – New York, L.A., and Nashville, where he's lived and worked over the last decade. This week's episode features two very different conversations. First, I talk to Patrick Droney, a Nashville-based guitarist trying to establish himself as an artist who makes soulful contemporary rock music. In October, he released an EP, State of the Heart, and he'll flesh it out with an album-length version this spring. Between those releases, he put out a cover of Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas is You" as one of Spotify's Holiday Singles. We talk about covering Mariah and the role the song plays in his effort to establish himself.  Then, New Orleans musician Boyfriend returns to 12 Songs to discuss Amy Grant's first of three Christmas albums, A Christmas Album from 1983. Nothing in her catalogue would lead listeners to believe the album was in her background, but she explains why it is in fact one of her favorite Christmas albums.  Boyfriend also appeared to talk about "All I Want for Christmas is You" and The Carpenters' "Merry Christmas Darling." Since I often ask the people I talk to about their early Christmas music memories, it seems only fair to share one of my own. To that end, I have included a song I discovered in my mom's box of singles: "I Yust Go Nuts at Christmas" by Yogi Yorgesson from 1949.

This episode is weird. Dustin could have sent Steve his audio. Steve could have asked for that audio when he realized it wasn't there... but then Steve's massive frustration with Dustin's weird Skype glitches wouldn't shine through in the episode and then people would just think Steve and Dustin were frustrated for other reasons than technology... So here's that sweet Skype audio everyone craves so that you all know what horrors Steve and Dustin faced. This week we talk about the AirPods Max, Dustin's new fugly Kickstarter shoes (they're worse than moonshoes somehow), and people dying during or after shoots. It's a little bit morose but we promise to handle the topic with same level of tactless crassness that we always bring to the table. We also talk about people developing film in beer. Hell yeah! Finally we talk about the Sony Pony Droney (which we hold is a better name than AirPeak). Beer Talk: Steve - Eirik Bloodaxe (the best beer in the world) by Scarlet Lane Brewing Dustin - Fat Tire by New Belgium Brewing Q&A: WTF is the point of a photographer listing their gear or camera systems in their Instagram info, etc? What do you do if a wedding client is hiring different photographers for different parts of the day? Is it okay to edit noses and dorsal humps of your subjects without talking to them first to make sure it's something they want? Links: Shoes uglier than moonshoes. Developing film in beer. Patrick Droney is here to tell us about his brand-new EP, State of the Heart. We’re both huge fans of Patrick’s music, and his life experience as a musician is just unbelievable. He started opening shows for B.B. King and James Brown as a teenager and has been mentored by some of rock’s most influential producers — Danny Kortchmar and Glen Ballard. He even tells us about having dinner with Joni Mitchell! Over the last four years, Patrick has found a creative home in Nashville's songwriting community while also contributing a track on Kygo’s latest album, Golden Hour, which also features Whitney Houston, OneRepublic, Kim Petras and more. Patrick tells us how mindfulness and meditation has transformed his life this year and why he’s committed to bringing the saxophone back to pop music.

The Bellharbour native had been renowned across Ireland and abroad as an outstanding ambassador for Irish traditional music for several decades now. Chris was the figurehead of the Droney family, which is renowned in music circles, with son Francis and daughter Ann, while many of his grandchildren continue the family tradition. In 2012, Chris Droney was named as Clare Person of the Year while two years later he was awarded a Lifetime Achievement honour at the TG4 Gradam Ceoil awards. In 2018, he was bestowed with the annual MORGlor award. On Thursday's Morning Focus, Gavin Grace spoke to Joan Hanrahan from the West Wind on Clare FM about Chris's musical legacy. After several weeks of relaxing, meditative sounds, here's a more frenetic guitar synth experiment from the archives. Recorded last December and forgotten about until last week. Droney and searching at the top, it coalesces into something pretty cool around 4 or 5 minutes in. Big fun the rest of the way. Don't exactly remember the signal flow, but it sounds like Burny > SY-300 Guitar Synth > Roland Volume Pedal > Logic.

Ep 303 'Tony Stark's B*tch' Review - Spider-Man: Homecoming

The Harold and Maudecast

This week on The Harold & Maudecast hosts Sarah Mason & Jake Essoe review SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING. Tom Holland (THE IMPOSSIBLE) takes over the role of Peter Parker/Spider Man alongside Iron Man/Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.) in this Disney- downed reboot of the Marvel classic character. When first we saw young Spidey he was fighting Avengers in CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR. Alas returning to high school is a pretty big let down for Peter Parker who continually pesters Tony Stark's man Happy (Jon Favreau) for new assignments. When it's clear that Tony has benched him, for now, Peter goes looking for bad guys on his own and quickly finds more danger than a Spider Man in training can handle. SPIDER MAN: HOMECOMING should be called IRON MAN 3.5. Disney took Marvel's [arguably] coolest super hero character and stripped him of everything that makes him so powerful and unique. Sony owns the rights to the character Spider-Man but lent him out to Disney so that Marvel could tie the character into AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR. What a mistake Sony. You had the best Marvel character and you let Disney turn him into a Junior Avenger at Tony Stark's day camp. Exhibit 1: The Suit After Peter Parker's high school buddy hacks into the special suit that Stark designed for Spider-Man, he discovers that he can be Iron Man too! The suit comes equipped with his own personal Jarvis "Karen" who counsels him on everything from Taser web shooters to his love life. And that spider on the suit's chest? It's a drone! That he calls Droney. Droney helps him find the bad guys even if he needs Tony to help him fight them. Spider-Man was unique because he was a kid (an older kid this Peter Parker is 15) who was super smart and able to use his intelligence to craft his own suit and discover his powers on his own. Spider-Man's spider sense is not even addressed, which is arguably what makes him one of the most powerful super heroes of all time. That super power allows him to manipulate time and space, and energy and it sets him apart. Yeah well I guess Tony Stark hasn't mentored this Peter Parker on the merits of his super powers sans suit yet. Maybe they're leaving that for the sequel. At San Diego Comic-Con 2016 the filmmakers SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING likened their version of the film to the style of John Hughes (UNCLE BUCK, SIXTEEN CANDLES etc). But that's way too kind and a discredit to the charm and genius of John Hughes. This is Disney Channel Spider-Man at best without any of the sophistication and depth of the classic comic book character. If you're a diehard fan of Spider-Man, wait till Sony gets him back. No Justice for this Spidey. 5/10 Bonus in this podcast episode we continue our obsession with foreign horror films with two Now Streaming reviews of THEM and BASKIN.
